Brene Brown, renowned Shame Researcher, has a wonderful boundary mantra: "say yes to discomfort and no to resentment".
In today's episode I am sharing my experience with the silent boundary method. This method was something I started about 5 years ago and it has worked miracles in my relationships, especially the one I have with myself.
To achieve the Silent Boundary Method, we need to normalise three things:
1) Saying no without justification and extra details
2) Creating space before giving an answer IE "I'll need to check some things and if it's a yes, I'll come back to you"
3) Letting the other person have their response - disappointment, anger, upset; without taking it on board ~ this is by far the hardest, but if we learn to accept and expect this, we won't see other people's response as proof that we can't set boundaries.

Intentionally Disturbing
Join me on this podcast as I navigate the murky waters of human behavior, current events, and personal anecdotes through in-depth interviews with incredible people—all served with a generous helping of sarcasm and satire. After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
