(00:15):
Welcome to the LeadershipPodcast.
My name is Jeff Dowdell and I'vebeen a licensed fireman dealer
for the last 17 years.
In this podcast, we talk allabout the Second Amendment as
well as anything else going onin the world.
Or a sports story or anythingelse that I might find
interesting.
So welcome, welcome, welcome.
And what a week it has beencrazy week.
I mean, we first have to startoff with the fires in LA and

(00:37):
just watching these stories andthe, the heartbreak and the
things that are lost.
And then, you know, the questionis being raised about, you know,
how could this happen and the, the, some of the politics behind
it and, you know, the fingerpointing, it is just Amazing.
It's heartbreaking to see.
I can't imagine what thesepeople are going through.
And it's, it's not over yet.

(00:58):
And just story after story.
But, you know, I do have onething whenever I look at the,
you know, state of California.
I'm no big fan of state ofCalifornia.
Their politics, the way they doanything.
That a lot of things that theydo, you know, it's it has
consequences.
And that, you know, this isprobably an evidence of One of

(01:18):
those things too much focus on,you know, protecting the
environment not protecting thepeople.
That is, I think, the truth ofit.
You know, when you look at themayor the governor of California
even, you know, the, the, FireChief, I hesitate to blame the
fire department because they canonly work with what they've got
and it doesn't seem like theywere actually negligent.
The Fire Chief may have had herpriorities a little misaligned.

(01:42):
But, you know, the one thing is,he had one job.
Just one job.
And one of the jobs is, youknow, keeping people safe.
And they didn't do it, you knowso we just keep praying for the
people in California Always, right, you know that they come
to their senses and start makingsome changes You know, when is
it bad enough?
When is it going to be badenough in California?

(02:02):
Here in Texas, snow.
Yes, we had our first snowstormof the year.
We only usually get one, maybetwo.
And it was Thursday and Friday,we had snow days.
You know, we shut down prettymuch.
You know, it wasn't bad, but youknow, we don't, we can't do
anything about it.
The big wildfire in the sky isour only remediation.
Really truthfully until things,it heats up and melts it away.

(02:25):
Typically, you know, thatdoesn't last long.
You know, we've had some couplestories here in the last few
years where temperatures stayedbelow freezing for a week, power
outages and things, but youknow, fortunately that wasn't
this bad.
And, you know, we had the, thepassing of President Carter and,
and that, those funeral servicesyou know.

(02:46):
Whether you think about it, whata particular president or not,
it's always something wheneverone passes because there's only
been, you know, 47.
And so we're about to inauguratethe 47th one and, you know,
thank goodness.
And, you know, with that, youknow, things are starting to
line up some change.
You know, we've had a couple bigthings, you know Warren Boebert

(03:06):
and Eric Burleson out ofMissouri, Boebert obviously is
out of California, theyintroduced legislation to
abolish the the ATF.
It's just a one page.
Bill would eliminate the lawenforcement agency, and, you
know.
Will it?
No, it's not going to goanywhere.
I don't think it would be.
I think, but I think we got tokeep pressing it.

(03:29):
You know, Boebert said, I cannotimagine under any circumstance,
circumstances or administrationwhere the ATF serves as an ally
to the Second Amendment and lawabiding firearm owners across
America.
And she's true.
They are not an ally.
They do not support the SecondAmendment.
And you know, the purpose ofthis is that, you know, it's
past this law enforcementactivity, the law enforcement

(03:50):
aspect of it.
Firearms to the state.
And then maybe you have a, undera certain agency, some of the,
you know, the regulations andthe monitoring of the, and
issuing of licenses to, todealers.
But, but more in a supportiveand not a conflictive
atmosphere.

(04:11):
And then in the Senate, thisone's more interesting.
We'll see where it goes.
We've got 41 senators thatproposed a new bill.
At.
That's dubbed the ConstitutionalConcealed Carry Reciprocity Act
and it's you know co sponsoredby a lot of them including John
Thune.
You know John Cornyn's on thisas well, and you know, I think
he's trying to save his neck, honestly.

(04:33):
You know, I talk about JohnCornyn a lot here, and there's
some Good rumors that Ken Paxtonis going to primary.
So I think John Gordon's goingto be trying to do a few things
here, but, so he's on this billas well.
But the proposal would ensurethat the concealed carry rights
in a person's home state followthem to any state.
In short, it would, it wouldtreat state issued concealed

(04:53):
carrier permits like driver'slicense.
It mimics, you know the nationaland it mimics another bill that
was issued previously.
So, I mean, you know, when you.
Get your driver's license inMissouri and you go and you get
pulled over or whatever inTexas, you know, they think,
nah, you're not allowed to drivein Texas.
You don't have a license.

(05:13):
You can only drive in Missouri.
It doesn't work that way.
And Firearms and the driver'slicense, driving is not even in
the constitution.
It's not protected by theconstitution.
It's not it doesn't say anythingabout it in the constitution.
Firearms.
Yes, it is and So it'll beinteresting to see Where where
this goes so that you know Whenyou are looking about traveling

(05:37):
from one state to another, youdon't have to map out your route
to make sure that you're carefulnot to cross into a state that
may not be friendly to yourlicense or to your rights.
And that you just know that, hey, I got a concealed carrying
gun license in the state ofTexas.
I'm good to go.
I can go to Washington, D.

(05:57):
C.
and carry concealed.
I can go to Los Angeles,California.
Bad example, but I can go to SanFrancisco, California and carry
concealed.
I don't have to worry abouttheir crazy laws because I have
a Texas license.
It's good to go.
Yeah, so we're going to keep oureye on that one.
That would be awesome if thatgot pushed through.
But, you know, typical, youknow, Joe Biden and I don't

(06:19):
know.
You know, Biden is doingeverything to go out and
There's, you know, pardoning, you know, murderers and issuing
Medal of Honor to Soros and youknow, shutting down pipelines,
you know, the ability to drillin certain pipelines.
He's doing everything he can toblock President Trump from being
able to do as much as he can.

(06:41):
In these last few days, I thinkafter the election, it should be
a short period of time beforethey, they can take over.
Now, there does have to be sometransition.
I understand that, but man, thisis from November to January.
That is a long time, but youknow, we had another, you know,
talking about the ATF.
Had another place where the ATFjust kicked in the door of an
innocent family, and I'm goingto read some excerpts from this

(07:03):
story.
And I'm gonna link it because Ithink everybody needs to go read
it.
But this happened to a familythe Manly family.
I'm trying to see here.
Where are they?
Doesn't tell me what statethey're in, but Manly is a gun
collector, a second manactivist, and an intervention
specialist for his local publicschools.

(07:25):
And that's, you know, anystudent that's experiencing
barriers to academic success byassessing needs, delivering
targeted instruction, andcollaborating.
So he works with these students.
And he said to you know, helpthem be more successful in, in,
um, in, in school.
But this has actually happenedon November 21st.
Here's the date, but this isjust finally making the news.

(07:47):
Um, the manly tells it in thishit the story that the morning
started out.
As most of the family's workingdays do, as he and his wife,
also a school teacher, awokeearly.
He said Manly's wife, whorequested that her name be
withheld, went down the kitchenshortly after 4 a.
m.
to make coffee.
It was there she noticed peoplemoving toward the home, leading

(08:07):
her to shout a warning to herhusband.
Manly looked out the window andsaw agents with long guns
converging on the home in atactical formation.
Security cameras showed asimilar scene at the rear of the
house.
Manly was able to awaken his twodaughters, But his four fifteen
year old son remained in hisbasement bedroom.
He continued, I looked out thewindow again and could tell they

(08:28):
were going to burst down ourdoor.
I yelled, Hello! We are up here.
All of a sudden a bomb went off.
My wife screamed.
She followed right behind me onour way out.
But she was detornated.
She was in pure shock.
Security cameras captured thefootage.
The terrorized couple and thedaughter sitting in the cloud in
bedclothes came out of theirfront door at 20 degrees.

(08:50):
With their hands above theirheads.
Despite the fact that they wereclearly unarmed, the agents kept
their rifles trained on them atpoint blank distance.
Manly yelled at the agents, andthey were pointing rifles at his
daughters.
Manly and his 17 year olddaughter were handcuffed, and
his wife and children werebundled into the back of a
police van in the freedom cult.

(09:10):
The agents then turned theirattention to Manley's 15 year
old son, who was still in hisbedroom.
Manley told Williams agents todeploy a flashbang grenade and
14 of them rushed the boy withtheir guns, breaking through the
glass door in his room andthreatening to shoot him.
When they emerged with his son,30 minutes later, Manley spoke a
sigh of relief.
Was brought back inside whileagents and canines ransacked the

(09:33):
home for hours.
Agents also threatened to blowup Manly's locked gun safe, but
he voluntarily opened it forthem.
No, no, knowing he had nothingto hide.
All of Manly's 70 plus Firearmswere unerringly compliant with
federal law and the statefirearm laws of Maryland.
Okay, Maryland get that When allwas said and done, no arrests

(09:55):
were made, no firearms orammunitions were seized.
The only thing they took wasManley's cell phone What was
that about?
That is why we need to abolishthe ATF.
They're just a They serve nopurpose but to cause to threaten
illegally People's, you know youknow, supporting the Second

(10:17):
Amendment.
They are, you know, they do notenforce our laws.
They only go after those thatthey deem a threat to the Second
Amendment.
That is my opinion.
There are probably some goodpeople in the ATF, but we do
definitely need to, to look atabolishing that agency in some
form or fashion.
And I'm hopeful with the new DOJand Pambandi, Coming in that we

(10:39):
can put the leader in there thatsupports our Second Amendment.
So, today's gonna be a day offootball watching from me.
I hope you all have a great day.
Continue your prayers for theCalifornia and the LA area.
And I will talk to you later.
