Season 02, Episode 31 brings us a conversation with Stacey, Her, and Jane– wait, that’s not their names. Let’s try again– today we chat with Katie and Jules of the Ting Tings!
Their 2008 debut album “We Started Nothing” spawned massive radio hits with “Shut Up and Let Me Go” and “That’s Not My Name.” Now residing in Ibiza, Katie and Jules are about to release their first new album in six years entitled “Home.” This collection of songs acts as an exploration of yacht-rock balladeers and the Laurel Canyon sound which feels more like a distant cousin of Fleetwood Mac and the Carpenters than the offspring of one of the most well-known indie-pop groups of the past two decades.
They join us to talk about the writing and recording process, re-imagining their iconic catalogue, and crowd-surfing a bass drum.
