Have you ever felt like the weight of grief could define your entire existence?

In this episode, I'm here to shake things up and challenge the traditional narrative of widowhood. It's time to reclaim the journey as our own and recognize that being a widow doesn't solely revolve around our deceased husbands. Yes, we honor their memory, but we also have a life to live.

Widowhood is a chapter, not the entire book of your life and being a widow doesn't define us; it propels us forward into the next chapter of our lives. We must remember that our happiness matters too, and our late husbands would want us to find joy and purpose. It's about shifting our perspective on grief and embracing the opportunities for growth and fulfillment.

So, let's not just survive but thrive and truly live with intention as you Widow Your Way ❤️

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, I believe the title of this episode says it
all.
So this is my soapbox and I'mjust going to sit here for a
while.
So let me go ahead and repeatthat for you, this widowhood
journey is about you and notyour dead husband.

(00:22):
Yes, we want to love, honor andcherish them forever, and you
will.
But it is not the sole purposeof a widow.
No matter what meme you read orwhatever anyone says, how much
you grieve, someone does notdetermine how much you love them

(00:47):
, and being a widow does notdefine you.
Being a widow is hard on you.
You are the one that is stillalive.

(01:11):
You are the one that has tofigure out what you're going to
do with the rest of your life, not anyone else, and definitely
not your dead husband.
He is gone now, living his bestafterlife.
So at any moment in yourhusband's lifetime did he say to

(01:35):
you when I'm gone, I want youto be miserable.
I never want you to find loveagain.
I want your happiness to diewith me.
No, so don't.
And if it's easy for you tothink of your husband happy and
free in heaven, why is it noteasy for you to think that he

(02:00):
would want you to be happy thathe would want you to be happy.
I want you to stop looking atgrief and widowhood as something
that has to be sad and lonely.
Yes, it will be.
In the beginning it's going tosuck and it's going to feel like
your whole world is over.

(02:22):
I know because I have beenthere.
But it's not, and the truth isthat is completely up to you.
You know I love that saying doyou merely want to survive or do

(02:42):
you want to thrive?
But I want to take it just onestep further and I want to ask
you do you want to live?
And I don't mean just beingalive, I mean actually living,

(03:03):
living a life with purpose andhappiness.
I mean actually living, livinga life with purpose and
happiness.
It doesn't have to be somemajor purpose in life, but just
living a life that is meant forjust you, and being happy doing

(03:25):
that, to do this.
I want you to start happy doingthat, to do this.
I want you to start thinking ofgrief in a more positive way
Because remember, widow, yourWay is a mindset.
I want you to find something tolook forward to, find something

(03:50):
that you've been wanting to dofor yourself, and just do it.
Being a widow is just part ofyour life and it doesn't define
the rest of it.
Now, after you listen to thisepisode, I want you to send me a
DM it could be on Instagram, facebook, or you can even email
me at widowyourwayatgmailcom andI want you to tell me what are

(04:15):
you going to do with the, because, after all, love is not
dead, just your husband.
