“Mic Check” LaKeshia T. Williams
A boss is at first a beginner
A boss is at first a beginner is a phrase I said one evening to a friend as we discussed how they were apprehensive and afraid to try things they had no prior experience with. After haphazardly saying it, I realized just how much of a jewel that sort perspective is to have.
If you are never willing to try something new, how will you ever fully explore the depths of who you truly are? Don’t let the fear of looking silly or failure stop you from pursuing your dreams and new things. Can you imagine a world if we all would just get over ourselves and just be? If we would all be okay with looking silly from time to time in the name of authencity and integrity?
Mic Check…1,2,3
I recorded this love note testing my new microphone I purchased with the intention of providing my listeners with higher quality author readings. I laughed at myself after I played it back and as I went to click the “X” to delete it, I thought to myself,
“Hmm? What if I shared this recording with my listeners? What’s the worse that can happen? They come to the realization that I am a goofy goof ball? Or that I am also at the premature stages of my own authentic self reconnection journey and am building my foundation from the ground up?”
I am 1000% willing to take that risk to show you that it’s okay to just be; there is purpose in all the stages of life we encounter.
We are many things and we have to explore those things first if we ever wish to master our true authentic selves.
The boss is at first a beginner; don’t be afraid of the journey.
Until next time
