Lachlan Stuart (00:00):
Welcome back to another episode.
I hope you have enjoyed thelast couple of episodes.
It's been great fun talking toyou about things that we discuss
within the coaching program, the Become Method.
If you haven't listened to theepisode around building your
foundations, it's superimportant and will help today's
episode make more sense.
But I thought this was animportant one, not only for you

(00:23):
guys, but it's a good reminderfor me.
There's no point doing thesethings building your foundations
Today we're talking aboutenvisioning your future,
building discipline, standards, all those things if we don't
continue to review them andrefine them based on what's
going on in our life.
So for me, this was importantfor me to do today because I've

(00:44):
been feeling overwhelmed.
There's a lot of pressure life.
So for me, this was importantfor me to do today because I've
been feeling overwhelmed.
There's a lot of pressure onI've got the documentary coming
out.
With that comes having to dothe promo, decide on designs,
review the actual footage itself, then get the marketing plan in
place.
Who we're inviting?
There's a lot of steps thathave to happen which I probably

(01:04):
should have outsourced, but I'mdoing it myself.
Then we have the business.
So coaching, I'm essentiallyoversubscribed.
We have a lot of people on thewait list, a lot of men on the
wait list, which is great, butthen also working with my
current clients, delivering themresults while still working out
how to make it more premium, give it a more focused and

(01:25):
systemized approach, so thatit's easy for them to see what
they've done and also have cleardirection for where they're
going.
So I'm continuing to learn.
Plus, if you haven't heard thenews, I've got a baby on the way
, crazy Been three years in themaking.
When I say that we've beentrying for three years, it's
been a challenging experience, but here we are so very excited.

(01:46):
So I feel very overwhelmed.
When I feel overwhelmed, it isa great time to come back and
actually start writing downwhat's important and reviewing
your goals.
So, for those of you whohaven't thought about this and
haven't created a compellingfuture, it is so important for
you to do, because in momentswhere you feel overwhelmed and

(02:07):
stressed, we need to createclarity.
Clarity comes through creatinga big picture and then also
having a plan for in the moment.
So what I like to start withjust to get the creative juices
flowing, to get you excited andto dream is what is that three
to five year vision, or ifyou're someone who is maybe a
little bit older and you couldthink 10 years ahead, do the 10

(02:28):
years.
So three to five year vision isa good place to start.
What that looks like well, Ican't tell you what that looks
like that's relevant to you, butthings you could ask yourself
is what do you want to feel overthe next three to five years?

(02:48):
What do you want to experience?
How much do you want to earn?
Where do you want to wake up?
Who do you want to be with?
Start creating some questions toanswer and go into vivid detail
.
If you've done our man that Canscorecard, which will score you
on the seven domains, you couldeven go domain specific how do
I want my mindset to be?

(03:09):
How do I want my mission whichis your finances and all of that
to be, my relationships, myhealth, my lifestyle?
Answer those specifically andyou'll then start building out a
vision.
If it doesn't excite you whenyou read it back, pro tip create
a compelling future.
Make it and write in so muchdetail and dream bigger that

(03:31):
when you read it you getgoosebumps and you go, wow, that
is what I really want and Ican't wait to work towards that.
Okay, remember it's a three tofive year timeline, because what
that then will help you getclear on next is who do you need
to become?
Who do I need to become?

(03:58):
And in the become method, inthe coaching program that I do
with my clients one-to-one, andmaybe, if we get enough people
wanting to do group programs, Ican talk to you guys about that
and we can look at doing that inthe future.
But who do I want to become isthe next thing, and we go
through that in later moduleswhere you start thinking about
your personal standards,non-negotiables, leadership

(04:20):
stuff, all of those sorts ofthings that really define who
you are, your belief systems, and it's important to think
about.
But if we first create thisvision and we already have
become clear on what we don'twant and what our baselines are
from our health to how we'respending our time, to what those
limiting beliefs are we canthen go cool.

(04:40):
Who do I need to become?
So for me, when I was like Iwant to be a keynote speaker for
Lululemon on mental health, Ialso want to be a million dollar
a year earner the question thatI forgot to ask back then that
would have been very helpful forme would have been who do I
need to become?
And had I thought about it, I'dprobably go.
Well, I want to become amillionaire, someone that they

(05:02):
want to hang out with.
I realized pretty quickly, andthis was without even asking
myself this question.
So you're sitting here andyou're learning this before I
did, which means you'll probablybe more successful than me in a
shorter amount of time.
But who do I need to become?
Who do I need to become inorder to have the things that
are on my vision?
That's going to then help youstart thinking about emotionally

(05:22):
.
Who do you need to become inorder to have the things that
are on my vision?
That's going to then help youstart thinking about emotionally
.
Who do you need to become?
How do you need to regulateyourself?
What skills do you need tolearn?
Conflict resolution,negotiation, sales, marketing,
whatever?
You'll create the list, andthen you can start learning
those things, whether it'sthrough doing courses, putting
yourself in situations where youhave to learn on the job,
putting yourself in situationswhere you have to learn on the

(05:43):
job, watching TEDx or doingpodcasts or any sorts of those
micro, little courses, or evenworking with me.
There's ways that we can gothrough answering that, because
who do I need to become toachieve that outcome?
That's where we identify twothings.
One is like reality, which iswe'll use r for reality and then
ds for desired state or desiredreality, and, as you can see,

(06:08):
here there's a bit of a gap.
So I like to think of this astime, the amount of time it
takes to do that.
And here is the growth.
Okay, so, the longer the time, the less intense the growth.
The shorter the time, the moreintense the growth, the shorter
the time, the more intense thegrowth.
But if we understand thatwithin growth we're accepting

(06:33):
adversity AD for adversity weneed to also understand how
resilient we are as anindividual in order to go
through this, because as much asthis looks like a nice little
line, we all know that that'sreally what it looks like.
Okay, it's never linear.
So when you're working towardsthat five-year vision, we go who
do I need to become?
What's the desired state andwhat are the things that need to

(06:54):
fall into place here?
What are the values?
How do I need to spend my time, what are my priorities, skills,
environment and then we gohabits all of these things that
you need to develop and testalong the way, because they're
not always going to be the rightthing.
You will make mistakes, youwill.
You know.
I guess when you're faced withthese decisions, you're like, oh

(07:16):
wow, I could do so many thingsin my future.
You could.
The idea is to go okay, what areall the things that you could
do?
Write them down.
Let's make a list All right, list them out Awesome.
Then, from that list, we gookay, well, which are the most
compelling for me, or which oneswould I really love to have?
Would it be this one and thenthis one?

(07:37):
And if that's the case, thenyou go okay, let's do a trial on
this the next two weeks.
Let's start doing what'srequired in terms of habit, time
values in order to move metowards that, and then you're
going to get feedback.
The feedback is going to go oh,and I really love this.

(07:57):
I really love the idea of havinga business where I work for
myself.
That's for me.
I love the idea that I get tohelp people live a better life
while living a better life formyself, one that I have found a
way to make a career out of it.
I've sustained my business forthe last decade.
It challenges me to be better.
I get to meet awesome peopleFucking love that.

(08:18):
That, for me, is like thedesired state or the desired end
goal.
So what does that look like foryou?
Because I wouldn't have gothere where I am right now had I
not first started with this.
When I first started, I learnedpretty quick.
There's going to be things onhere that I like and there's
also going to be things on herethat I don't like, and the only
way I would have figured thatout or the only way I did figure
that out was through doing it.

(08:39):
So they're just two of thethings you can do and two of the
things that we run through whenwe help you envision your
future and really start creatingthat compelling future.
Because when you think about it,if you can get so excited by it
, you're going to be more likelyto do what's required to move
towards that desired state, andI want that for you.

(09:01):
I'm super excited for you.
If you have any questions, makesure you leave them in the
comments below or, better yet,if you have not taken our man
that that can scorecard, whichwill show you across the seven
domains where you're driftingand even where you're thriving.
Make sure you click the link inthe bio or head to the man that
can projectcom to take that, because that will show you, of

(09:22):
those seven domains, which onesare working well for you and
which ones maybe need a bit ofimprovement, and I'll even give
you a little tips.
And for those of you who want alittle bit of help, there will
also be the option topotentially work with me.
So go, do that one now.
It's going to be highlyvaluable.
We're always looking forfeedback on that one, because I
want that to be a resource thatgets you ticking and can really

(09:42):
highlight areas that you cantake away and improve.
My name is Lachlan Stewart.
As always, do something.
