SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
You wake up, you go
through the motions, work,
obligations, distractions.
The weeks roll by and you lookaround and think to yourself,
How did I get here?
You're not failing.
You're drifting.
If that's you, this video mightchange everything.
I'm Lachlan Stewart.
I've coached hundreds of highperforming men through what I
(00:21):
call the life performancesystem.
And before that, I learned moreabout mental endurance running
58 marathons in 58 consecutivedays than most people will learn
in their lifetime.
Today I'm breaking down how totake control of your life when
you're stuck, even if you'resuccessful.
This isn't about motivation,it's about clarity.
(00:41):
And I'm going to show youexactly how I went from drifting
to having direction.
Here's what I know about you.
You're capable, probably greatat your job, maybe you earn good
money, people respect you.
But inside you feel empty.
You know you're capable of more, you can feel it.
But every time you try to figureout what's next, the options
(01:03):
overwhelm you.
So you stay stuck.
Not because you're lazy, butbecause you're paralyzed by
possibility.
Most men who feel stuck aren'tstuck because they lack drive.
They're stuck because they lackclarity.
You want to build somethingmeaningful.
You want to feel proud of thelife that you're living.
You want to show up for yourfamily, your work, and yourself
without feeling like you'reperforming.
(01:25):
But when you sit down to figureit out, the questions spiral.
What should I focus on?
What if I choose wrong?
How do I balance everythingwithout burning out?
So you do nothing.
The drift continues.
But here's what the researchshows: 27% of Australian men
experience moderate loneliness, and 16% experience severe
(01:46):
loneliness.
And this isn't just about beingalone.
It's about being disconnectedfrom your purpose, from
direction, and from the man thatyou know you're capable of
being.
You don't need more motivation.
You need a clear vision, astrong plan, and small,
consistent actions to follow.
And that's what gets you back incontrol.
(02:08):
So I've been exactly where youare.
For years I floated, I hadgoals, I worked hard, but I was
building without direction.
Then everything changed in 2015when I hired my first coach,
Joel Brown.
And I want to be clear.
I didn't do it because I wasbroken.
I did it because I wanted tostop guessing and I wanted to
play a bigger game.
I wanted to fast track mysuccess by learning from someone
(02:30):
who had already walked the paththat I was trying to walk.
Three things happened when Iinvested in coaching.
Firstly, I got answers to myspecific challenges, not generic
advice from a book, tailoredsolutions to what I was actually
facing.
Secondly, I identified my blindspots, the things that I
couldn't see because I was tooclose to my own life.
And third, I got access to anetwork.
(02:52):
My coach introduced me tomentors, frameworks, and people
who became part of my growthtrajectory.
That decision didn't just changemy business, it changed who I
was becoming.
And man, it was a good feeling.
So the first tangible shift, time management.
I'm gonna bang on about this allthe time.
Before coaching, I didn't use adiary.
(03:14):
I had goals, but no systems.
I'd try to work it out and I'dplan to spend time with my
partner, but if it wasn'tscheduled, well, it didn't
happen.
You see, after I got clarity, Ibecame obsessive about my
calendar, not just workmeetings, everything.
Training sessions, date nights, time to think and plan, even
recovery.
If it mattered, it went in thediary and suddenly my life
(03:37):
started moving forward insteadof sideways.
And here's what I learned (03:39):
if
you don't control your time,
someone else will.
Most men say they don't havetime to invest in themselves,
but the truth is they just don'thave clarity on what they're
building.
So they fill their time withurgency instead of importance.
And for me, that meantcommitting to move my body every
single day, not picking andchoosing, no excuses.
(04:00):
Every morning at 5 30 a.m.,bloody annoying alarm would go
off, and I was out, I would run,hit strength training or
mobility work, I would dosomething.
The activity varied, but thecommitment didn't because when
it was in the calendar, there'sno decision to make.
And when there's no decision, there is no excuse.
You just get up and do it.
Time management isn't aboutbeing busy, it's about
(04:22):
protecting what matters.
Now, here's what you're reallymissing, and it's not
discipline.
You don't lack discipline, youlack a vision that's clear
enough to commit to.
See, when I was drifting, I hada hundred different ideas.
I'd start projects and thenabandon them.
I'd set goals and let themslide.
Not because I was weak, butbecause I didn't have the
(04:42):
frameworks to organize my lifearound.
And that's what the lifeperformance framework gave me.
Four pillars that work together.
When all four are working, you're not scattered, you're
aligned.
Most men are great at one thing.
Maybe you crush it at work, butyour health is falling apart.
Maybe you're fit but feeldirectionless.
Maybe you're clear on yourpurpose but disconnected from
(05:03):
the people that you love.
Life performance means beinggreat at all four.
Not perfect, but aligned.
And here's how it works.
So pillar number one, strongbody.
Your body is your operatingsystem.
When it's weak, everything elsesuffers.
And I'm not talking aboutlooking good.
I'm talking about baselinestrength that lets you show up.
(05:24):
Most high performers neglectthis because they're too busy.
That's exactly backwards.
A strong body creates mentalclarity.
Here's the standard.
Lift weights three times perweek minimum.
Not hours in the gym, 45minutes, compound movements,
progressive overload.
That's it.
Most guys think they need theperfect program.
They don't.
You need consistency.
(05:45):
Pick three days,non-negotiables.
The trap, trying to do too much.
You join the gym, you hire thetrainer, you buy the
supplements, commit to six daysa week, then you miss one
session and quit entirely.
Don't do that.
Three days, that's a standard.
Protect it like you protect yourmost important meeting.
And when you hit that standardfor 30 days, you'll notice
something.
(06:05):
Your decision making improves, your energy stabilizes.
Pillar two, calm mind.
This isn't about meditationapps.
This is about controlling yourthoughts so that you can make
clear decisions under pressure.
Stress grows when you don't knowwhat matters or what's next.
Most men are overwhelmed becausethey're trying to hold
everything in their head.
(06:26):
The standard get it out of yourhead onto paper.
Every Sunday I spend an hourplanning my week, maybe not an
hour always, but a bit of time, getting clear on what matters
most, what gets scheduled, whatgets cut.
That one hour creates clarityfor the entire week.
The trap here is thinking youdon't have time for this.
You don't have time not to dothis.
(06:48):
When you don't plan, you react.
When you react, you drift.
One hour every Sunday,non-negotiable.
Pillar three, clear purpose.
This is about building your lifeon intention, not accident.
You need to know what you'rebuilding towards, not vague
dreams, but get clear onspecific outcomes.
So for me, that meant asking, what does control actually look
like?
(07:08):
Firstly, financial freedom.
I reverse engineered the numberthat I needed to feel secure and
independent.
Then I built a plan to getthere.
Lifestyle flexibility.
I wanted to work for myself fromanywhere.
So I started building somethingthat wasn't location dependent.
Adventure ready fitness.
I didn't just want to look fit, although that's an added bonus.
I wanted to feel capable so thatI set baselines for strength,
(07:30):
endurance.
And that let me say yes toadventures that life throws at
me.
And I think it's one of the bestthings to have.
Your vision will look differentto mine.
And that's the point.
You're not trying to livesomeone else's definition of
success.
You're building a life that fitsyou.
The standard, write down whatcontrol means for you.
Three specific areas, thenreverse engineer the plan.
(07:52):
Fourth and final pillar,confident life.
Now, this is about showing upfully in your relationships,
your work, and who you'rebecoming.
Confidence doesn't just comefrom feeling good, although it
definitely helps.
It comes from keeping promisesto yourself.
When I decided to run 58marathons in 58 days, I didn't
start with the full challenge.
(08:12):
I started with one decision.
I'm going to run every day, nomatter what.
And that one decision became ananchor.
Everything else had to supportthat.
And that's when I stoppeddrifting and started building
towards achieving that goal.
The standard, pick onecommitment, something that moves
you closer to the man that youwant to be.
Training four days a week, threestrength sessions a week, no
excuses.
Scheduling one hour every Sundayto plan your week, having one
(08:35):
conversation with your partnerwhere you're fully present.
Pick one, schedule it, andprotect it like your life
depends on it.
Because in a way, it kind ofdoes.
So here's how these pillars worktogether.
You're probably wondering thisone.
When you dial in strong body, calm mind, clear purpose, and
confident life, here's whathappens you stop feeling like
(08:56):
you're grinding, you startfeeling like you're building
something.
Your energy becomes stable, yourdecisions become clearer, you
show up for your familydifferently.
You show up for yourselfdifferently, actually.
And I've seen this with hundredsof men, successful on the
outside, empty on the inside, six months into the core four
system or the life performancesystem.
They tell me, I feel like myselfagain.
(09:17):
And that's what's possible whenyou take control.
So let me give you one example.
I worked with a guy, and let'scall him, let's call him Tom, 42
years old, running about a fourto five million dollar business,
sleeping roughly four to sixhours a night, you know, one of
those grinders, and told me hewas fine.
Three months into the system, his revenue was up, his
(09:38):
relationship was better, andhe'd lost four kilos without
trying.
And that's what happens when youfix the operating system.
You don't need to overhaul yourall your whole life tomorrow.
You need to commit to one thingthat's going to move you closer
to the man that you want to be.
So here's what I want you to do.
I have a free resource, it's alife performance scorecard.
(09:58):
It will take you less than fourminutes.
It'll show you exactly whereyou're strong and where you're
leaking energy.
The link is in the description.
And if you want more of this, areal performance strategy, no
fluff, hit subscribe because Iput out a new video every week.
And if you got value from this, hit that like button because it
allows YouTube to show morepeople this video because people
(10:20):
are enjoying it.
So as we look to wrap this oneup, a year from now, you'll meet
one of two versions of yourself.
The one who's still drifting, still capable, still waiting for
one day, or the one who tookcontrol, who's building with
intention, who feels proud ofthe choices that he's making.
The only question is whichversion will you meet?
(10:41):
You've got this, now go buildit.
