Matt (00:25):
All right, everyone, welcome back to Matt and Friends
Drink the universe.
All right, everyone, welcomeback to Matt and Friends Drink
the universe.
The theme for today is Think ordrink.
Are you thinking or youdrinking?
It is think or drink triviatoday, and we are going to be

(00:49):
doing Middle Earth trivia.

Siobhan (00:53):
Okay, flat Earth.

Rob (00:55):
Not, no, oh okay Good, because I'm a man of science.
Middle Earth was flat.

Andy (01:01):
Middle Earth was flat, we might have already.
We might have already Spoilerquestion.
We're gonna win the look onfrustration, on matt's face says
we already spoiled it.

Matt (01:14):
So, before we go any further, let's go around the
room here and I'll have all ofyou introduce yourselves hi,
everybody, this is rob hey, it'ssiobhan.
Andy.

Jason (01:23):
This is Jason.

Matt (01:25):
All right, and I am Matt, your host, and, as I said, today
is Middle Earth trivia.
So we are not just covering theHobbits or Lord of the Rings,
we are deep diving into Tolkienmythology.
So put on your nerdy helms andhere we go, helms, helms.

Rob (01:39):
Helms deep what.

Andy (01:41):
We're going helm's Deep, I like it.
We're going Helm's Deep, I likeit.

Rob (01:43):
We're going Helm's Deep on this bitch.

Matt (01:46):
Oh Is that what you did last night.

Siobhan (01:48):
Oh no, I doubt it.
That's what I mean.

Rob (01:53):
I plead the fifth.

Siobhan (01:54):
Okay.

Matt (01:55):
So to remind everybody of the rules Think or Drink is our
classic trivia game, whereplayers start with six points.
The last person with pointsremaining wins Correct answers.
Let you choose someone to losea point and drink, while
incorrect answers will cause youto lose a point and drink.
For difficult questions, youhave two options.
First, you can make it a doubleto get help from someone else.

(02:15):
If your collective answer iscorrect, you can choose
individually to gain a point orto make somebody else drink and
lose a point.
If you're wrong, both of youlose a point and drink.
Or you can put it on their tabby selecting someone to answer
for you.
If they're right, you lose apoint and drink.

(02:37):
If they're wrong, you gain apoint.
Make sure to balance potentialrisk and reward when you put it
on their tab.
Okay, so I am going to introduceone more mechanic for the game
today to mix things up just alittle bit.
This one should be relativelysimple.
We're going to call this theone ring, so when you wear the
one ring you can see the unseenworld.
Right, that's the whole thingwith the one ring.

(02:57):
So in this case all of thequestions are tolkien lore, not
movies or making of specific.
But if you pop on the one ring, you can choose to, one time
during the game, swap out yourquestion for a making of or
movie related question.
Actor related question.

Rob (03:11):
I love that Interesting, good job.
Each of us gets to do that once.

Matt (03:15):
Each of you gets to do that one time.

Andy (03:17):
Okay, cool, so I'm pretty sure that ring goes on the
middle finger.
Yeah, pretty much.

Matt (03:25):
No loss of points, no change up or anything like that.
It's just you swapping out thequestion and, if you want, at
that point you can even compoundit with another, uh, another
lifeline or mechanic.

Rob (03:31):
Okay, I like this.

Matt (03:32):
I like this, I'm, I'm in says the least confident guy
here, hey.
So trying to go withappropriate themed drinks for
this episode, we have somedragon's milk reserve s'mores
flavored.

Rob (03:45):
Buddy, if you're stumbling over Dragon's Milk, I don't know
what you're going to do withall these s'mores.

Siobhan (03:51):
It's a slippery slope.
It's going to be great.

Matt (03:54):
Has anybody tried the Dragon's Milk yet?
It is delicious.

Rob (03:57):
Yes, I'm deep in the Dragon's Milk right now.

Siobhan (03:59):
Whoa.

Rob (04:00):
Cheers.
Ask the dragon.

Andy (04:02):
Consent.
Does the dragon's milk comefrom the dragon teats?
Indeed, why not?
I've got milk coming from them.
Can you milk, yep?

Siobhan (04:12):
Yep.
Yep we were all going for it,me, frodo, I got it.

Matt (04:21):
He was alone in that cave with Smough for a while.
What's?

Siobhan (04:24):
Smough, not Frodo.
No, he was not.
Bilbo was he was not in thecave.

Andy (04:29):
Smaug was dead.

Rob (04:33):
Oh, Andy, you missed a great joke that I had.

Andy (04:36):
I was too enraged over Frodo being in the cave with
Smaug.
It's not.

Siobhan (04:41):
Frodo.

Matt (04:41):
Bilbo.

Siobhan (04:42):
Right.

Matt (04:43):
Oh God, and I'm hosting.

Andy (04:46):
That's why you're not answering.

Siobhan (04:47):
Wait, what just happened?

Rob (04:48):
You'll hear it.
Okay, great, I can't wait.

Matt (04:52):
The dragon's milk is quite good.
It does actually taste like as'more.
I was worried we were going toget way too much coffee or
something like that.

Rob (04:58):
No, it's actually quite nice by itself, but I've
actually mixed it with the otherbeer that you brought, which is
the Eagle Banana Bread Beer.
Yes, typically I mix that 50-50with the Chocolate Stout, but
it's doing well with the s'mores.

Matt (05:11):
Well, they don't exactly make a Lumbus Bread Beer, so
Banana Bread was the closest Iwas going to get.
Thank you, dnr Beverage inNazareth and also Poppin's
Travel for the fifth microphone.
Help us go that distance.

Rob (05:23):
That's right, jason, on the Poppin's Travel mic tonight.
Yep, yep.
What are you poppin'?
Am I poppin'?
Yeah, what's poppin'?
I don't think you want to knowwhat's poppin's a Okay.

Siobhan (05:34):
Moving on.
What did we all start with?

Matt (05:38):
Six.

Siobhan (05:38):
We all start with six, six points, six, six points, six
points, six points, to rulethem all.
Hey, thanks.
I was doing that for all thelisteners to make sure you all
remember.
And also I'm supposed to keepscore now, so just doing that.

Rob (05:49):
I'll help you with that as well, oh no, I'm not worried.

Siobhan (05:51):
I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

Matt (06:09):
As my lovely crew discussed earlier.
I all right, we're gonna startat the beginning.
Oh god, what is the name of thetranscendent, supreme being who
created the bounds of the world, yeah, and gave the einor will
to shape it, resulting in thecreation of Arda, is it?

Siobhan (06:34):
Melkor Eru Iluvatar Manwe or Olorin.
Ha, ha, ha ha ha.
My God, this is some deep-cutshit man, I can't do this.

Rob (06:37):
I think it's.

Siobhan (06:37):
Melkor.
You're going with Melkor.
That is incorrect.

Rob (06:39):
You are drinking, not thinking.
Ah Okay, I think it's Malkor.

Matt (06:42):
You're going with Malkor.
That is incorrect.
You are drinking, not thinking.
Okay, I'm all of a suddenfeeling good.

Rob (06:50):
Yeah right, Shut up.
Well good, I'm glad you'refeeling good.
I'm not All right.
I didn't want to blow a thingright off the bat there, but A.

Siobhan (06:57):
Thing.

Matt (06:58):
So we'll catch up here.
Eru Iluvatar created the Valarand the Maiar, collectively
called the Ainur.

Siobhan (07:05):
I hate this and shaped the world and they sang the
world into being.
Oh, that's kind of beautiful.

Matt (07:11):
Which I absolutely love.
Anybody not a trivia question, but does anybody know what the
music was called?

Jason (07:18):
Wasn't it just a song of creation?

Siobhan (07:19):
It wasn't country.
I'll tell you that.

Jason (07:20):
It was like Ainulande or something like that Ainulindele,
there you go.

Rob (07:24):
Okay, I would have guessed, rob we are effed.

Andy (07:28):
We're going solo cup.

Matt (07:34):
Siobhan.
Who is Manwe and what was hisprimary role?
Was he the king of the Valar, responsible for ruling over
Valinor and maintaining order inArda?
A powerful wizard who aids thefree people of Middle-earth?
A renowned elven warrior wholed the war against Morgoth?
Or a cunning dwarf who overseesthe ancient mines in Valinor?

Siobhan (07:55):
Ooh, mines in Valinor.
Are there mines in Valinor?

Andy (08:00):
They call it a mine.

Siobhan (08:02):
A mine, a mine, valinor's.
The Undying Lands.
There's mines there Seems alittle odd, so I know part of
these questions.
Ooh, manwe does not sound likean elven name.

(08:23):
Can you give me the optionsagain?

Matt (08:26):
Sure the King of Valinor, a powerful wizard who aids the
free people of Middle-earth, arenowned elven warrior who led
the war against Morgoth, or acunning dwarf lord who oversees
the ancient mines in Valinor?

Siobhan (08:39):
I mean, I definitely have no idea, so I'm going to go
with a wizard, you're going togo with a wizard.
Yeah.

Rob (08:50):
He was actually the king of the valar responsible for
ruling over valinor, and he wasaru iluvitars, more or less
right hand gotcha okay cool.

Matt (08:53):
I would not have known that.
I would have guessed the wizardas well, didn't?

Rob (08:55):
know that what's a man weigh about 200 pounds.
You know that's all I have tosay yep andy.

Matt (09:03):
He was named morgoth black foe of the world for slaying
the first high king of NoldarFenway and stealing the
Silmarils.
What was his original name?
Sauron, melian, melkor or Manwe?
The correct answer would beMelkor.
That is correct.

Siobhan (09:19):
Certainly not Manwe, since we just figured that one
out.
So, you're welcome.

Andy (09:26):
Yeah, who are?

Siobhan (09:26):
you making drink.
I was hoping for a milk orquestion.
Okay, none of us were, but thejust you.

Andy (09:31):
Let's, uh, let's go with Rob.

Rob (09:33):
Uh, taking me down faster.

Matt (09:36):
Jay.
The two trees of Valinorbrought light to the land of the
Valar in ancient times.
What was the fate of the Valarin ancient times?
What was the fate of the twotrees of Valinor at the end of
the First Age?
They were totally destroyed byMorgoth and Ungoliant.
They withered and died.
Naturally.
They were saved from an attackby Fenwy and continued to shine
for all eternity where Morgothdamaged them.
But one was uprooted andtransplanted to Gondor.

Jason (10:00):
I believe that would be A they were destroyed.

Matt (10:02):
That is correct.

Jason (10:03):
Good job.

Siobhan (10:05):
So rude.
So, rude Sorry.
No, you should never be sorry.

Matt (10:11):
Did you read the Silmarillion to prep for this?
I did, he said he did I read itrecently.

Siobhan (10:15):
That's rude.
Is that cheating?
Sorry, no, it's not cheating.

Rob (10:20):
So who are you going to?

Matt (10:21):
take points away from oh All right, from okay, all right
the glove has been thrown.

Andy (10:26):
Should we go around and say what our extensive knowledge
of the lord of the rings.

Rob (10:33):
Sure I mean I will say this , people will know very soon at
one point in my life I I readthe lord of the rings trilogy,
but for the most part myknowledge is primarily from like
all of the media.
So movies and tv shows likethat's.

Siobhan (10:49):
That's the extent of my knowledge are we going around
um, I am similar in that, likeI've dug into the book lore more
recently than rob has, but mostof my recent knowledge is
movies and reading a lot on theinternet I was a massive fan of
the hobbit as a kid, um to thepoint.

Andy (11:13):
at one point I watched the rankin and bass hobbit
adaptation of the hobbit, but Icouldn't remember the name of
the movie, so I was trying todescribe it to people because I
wanted to watch it again.

Siobhan (11:27):
It's a kind of messed up description.

Andy (11:28):
And nobody knew what the hell I was talking about.
So I thought I had made it up.
And then, in what was likemiddle school, we had to read
the Hobbit.
I'm reading the book, I'm likethis is it.
I didn't make it up.
Good job but huge fan of theHobbit.
I've read all the Lord of theRings.
I haven't read all theCimmerillion, but I've read part
of it.
Definitely huge fan of themovies.

(11:50):
In fact I think pretty sure Iwatched the movies before I had
read the Lord of the Rings.

Siobhan (11:54):
Oh, that's fun.

Andy (11:56):
Yeah.

Jason (11:56):
Backwards.
Yeah yeah, I've read the Lordof the Rings, the Cimmerillion
and the Hobbit multiple times, merlion and the Hobbit multiple
times.
Haven't read Lord of the Ringsor Hobbit in like a decade at
least, but I finished theSilmarillion today as a reader.

Matt (12:08):
Okay, anyway.

Jason (12:13):
Those are the movies, yeah, showing up prepared.

Matt (12:15):
I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan myself Probably
actually started.
I can blame Jay for thisbecause I was really into the
movies and we went to a specialscreening in King of Prussia,
pennsylvania, to watch hometown, yeah, to watch the extended
editions of fellowship of thering and the two towers and then
the release of return of theKing.

(12:37):
So I actually have like acommemorative thing from what a
workshop down there on the tablewith three cells of the movie.
Jay and I both got one forattending.
That was the only day in mylife that a large, uh like
refillable popcorn and soda weretotally worth it, because we
were literally there for like 14hours and um, I was asking you
I don't know if you rememberthis, I was asking jay questions
, like the entire time, and youknew like every answer and I was

(12:59):
like okay, I need to go homeand read the books and this
Silmarillion thing.
And then I did and became amassive nerdy fan.

Andy (13:07):
I did also play and 100% max out the Lego Lord of the
Rings video game Nice.
Which one?
Two Towers or Return of theKing?

Matt (13:16):
Oh sorry.

Siobhan (13:17):
Oh yeah, it's a whole thing.
Play the Lord of the Rings game.

Jason (13:19):
The Helm's Deep one.
Two Towers one.

Matt (13:22):
One of the best PS2 games ever made.

Jason (13:24):
It's fantastic that and the Return of the King Highly
recommend.

Siobhan (13:27):
I did see all the movies at the midnight release.
Nice For all of them.

Matt (13:31):
All of you still have your lifeline mechanics yes.
Including putting on the onering we do.

Rob (13:37):
But I am in last place.
Oh yeah, Do we need a scorecheck?
Do we need a score check?

Siobhan (13:42):
Right Rob has four, I have five, andy has five and Jay
has six.
Rude, just kidding.

Rob (13:48):
There we have it All, right , you're prepared so good.

Matt (13:52):
Rob, yes, in the last question I mentioned Ungoliant
temporary ally of Morgoth, whoactually drank the sap of the
two trings of Valinor.
They withered and died.
What type of creature was she?
A vampire, a werewolf, a giantspider or a balrog?

Rob (14:09):
Oh, a giant spider that is correct.

Siobhan (14:11):
That is the correct answer Well done.
Oh, my God.
I just almost grabbed your armto be like ask us what we think.
No, it's okay, Because if youdidn't know, we would know
Smeagol Okay.
I feel like that's the first ofmany of those we're going to
get now.
Jay, have a drink, man.

Matt (14:30):
Join this party Get on our level.

Rob (14:32):
Welcome to the podcast.
He's going to drag me down toyour level.

Jason (14:35):
I see how it is.

Siobhan (14:36):
It's okay, you're not at his level yet Don't worry,
we're a ways to go to get there.

Matt (14:39):
Si Siobhan, what is the name of Morgoth's fortress and
primary stronghold during theFirst Age?

Siobhan (14:47):
You couldn't give me the spider question.
Really, come on.

Matt (14:50):
I mean, you can use a lifeline and swap this out for a
movie question.

Siobhan (14:53):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, go, all right
Was it Angband Barad-dur Utunmoor Thangoradrim, thangoradrim,
sorry.
I'm sorry.
Can you read the question again?

Matt (15:04):
Sure, what was the name of Morgoth's fortress during the
First Age?
His primary fortress during theFirst Age?
Angband, barad-dur, utunmo orTengoradrim.

Siobhan (15:19):
I've only heard of one of these and I know it probably
isn't the one.
That is going to be the answer.
Let's go with the third one.
What's?

Matt (15:23):
the third one.
The third one was Ultanmo.

Siobhan (15:25):
Great.

Matt (15:26):
It is not that it's Barad-Dur.
No, it's not.
It was not that.
That's the one I know, that'sSauron's.

Siobhan (15:32):
Tower Ah Son.

Matt (15:34):
I would have gotten that very wrong.
What is it?
It's Angband.

Siobhan (15:37):
Okay, great.

Matt (15:38):
Angband.

Siobhan (15:47):
Hoor, now I'm on rob's level.
Dang, I would like to thinkthat I'm higher than rob's level
.

Jason (15:50):
I I like you, but I'm just like I should know more
than this life's full ofdisappointments yeah, you're
right, I need I know that nowit's fine, it's all right.

Matt (15:58):
Andy, what monstrous creature, guardian of the gates
of angban, did baron and luthienconfront in their quest for a
silmaril?
What?

Andy (16:13):
I am pretty sure it's the werewolf that we're going with.
My gut wants to say the Balrog, but I'm I'm going with the
werewolf.
It was the werewolf.

Matt (16:26):
You are correct, I would have gotten that one too
probably.

Rob (16:30):
I would have Balrog bear.

Matt (16:31):
He was the first werewolf, the greatest and most powerful.
He was later killed by Juan.

Siobhan (16:37):
Juan Juan what.

Matt (16:39):
Juan of Eleanor, what After his buddy?

Rob (16:42):
Jose was dinner of tacos, Juan came in.

Jason (16:46):
He got drunk on macarons.

Siobhan (16:47):
Stop it.
No, it's not his name.

Matt (16:51):
I ate all of you.

Siobhan (16:54):
You didn't write it, I need context.

Matt (16:56):
You can tell when I skipped the pronunciation key.

Siobhan (16:58):
What is it?

Matt (16:58):
Spell it H-U-A-N Juan Juan .

Siobhan (17:06):
Let's go with Juan.
Because, then it feels a littledifferent.
Juan first.

Andy (17:11):
Yeah, there is some nerd swearing up a storm.

Siobhan (17:15):
They're not listening to this.
They're not listening to this.

Andy (17:19):
We lost at least one listener.
It's okay, let's toss that oneto Jay.

Matt (17:24):
If you're still here, Thank you Ooh, jay.

Siobhan (17:26):
Now you're at our level , if you're still here.

Matt (17:29):
thank you, ooh Jay.
Now you're at our level.

Siobhan (17:30):
If you're ready, oh-ho.

Matt (17:33):
Jay, what was the significant act that Erendil
undertook, leading to the War ofWrath in the First Age?
He forged a powerful weapon todefeat Morgoth, sailed to
Valinor and pleaded with theValar for intervention against
Morgoth, led an army of dwarvesand elves in the siege of
Morgoth's fortress, or created asecret alliance with Sauron to
defeat Morgoth.

Jason (17:54):
That would be B.
He went to Valinor.

Matt (17:56):
That is correct.
I knew that one.

Jason (17:58):
That was in the Rings of.

Rob (17:59):
Power show.

Matt (18:00):
They talked about it, it was.
That was a good show by the way.
Season two, apparently, ishappening yeah, and I know eight
years, yeah right, I know thatthat show kind of caught a lot
of flack, but a lot of peopledidn't realize that they didn't
have the rights to the lot ofthe silmarillion for that they
literally had to ask permissionfor every yes single specific
thing from the samarillion oh tobe included but I did hear that

(18:24):
they got much more permissionfor the second season and
they're planning on actuallykind of going back and talking
about Sauron more and hishistory, specifically Kind of
back in time, how he ended up onthe raft in the middle of
nowhere which was not reallydescribed.
Sorry, spoiler alert if youhaven't seen the show.

Andy (18:44):
I didn't dislike it, but the fight scenes are awful.
They're just real bad.

Matt (18:51):
There's a couple that are quite questionable.

Andy (18:53):
But since you got that right, you got to sign a drink
for somebody.

Jason (18:57):
I'm going to go with Andy and bring us all down to the
same level.

Siobhan (18:59):
Yes, someone's keeping track.

Jason (19:02):
I got you, I can do math, it's not hard, all of us
wrapped together.

Siobhan (19:05):
It's not hard, it's not hard math.

Matt (19:06):
What happened?

Rob (19:07):
sorry, he said math.
Math e equals mc hammer wetalking about numbers why?

Matt (19:16):
yes, why not all the drops love it we're gonna move it
around a little bit.
We were in the first stagemoving around.

Siobhan (19:23):
Okay, love, making it closer to the shit that I know
we're going to the second.
Oh, we are all at four.
Everybody's got phone, everybody has phone and
everybody still has theirlifelines, so don't forget about
those.
I'm surprised nobody's goingfor it yet.
All right, okay, it's early.

Matt (19:37):
What significant event Rob in the second age led to the
haunting presence of fallingwarriors in the Dead Marshes,
creating a sorrowful landscapein Middle-Earth.
Was it the Battle of Dagorlad, the War of Wrath, the Battle of
Sudden Flame or the War of theLast Alliance?
I would like to make it adouble.

Siobhan (19:56):
Oh.

Rob (19:57):
All right.

Siobhan (19:57):
What is that?

Rob (19:59):
With Jason.
Oh Oi, baki, make it a double.
Do you know the answer to this?

Jason (20:07):
I'm not sure I do.
Son of a bitch.

Rob (20:11):
You had a glint in your eye and I thought it meant that you
knew it was more of a no.
No, don't do it.
I misread that.

Matt (20:20):
You mustn't look at the lights.

Jason (20:22):
Yeah, read this for me again.

Matt (20:23):
What significant event in the Second Age led to the
haunting presence of fallingwarriors in the Dead Marshes,
creating a sorrowful landscapein Middle Earth?
The Battle of Dagor Lad, theWar of Wrath, the Battle of
Sudden Flame or the War of LastAlliance?

Rob (20:39):
I think it's the War of Last Alliance.
Because didn't the dead peoplelike, weren't they upset?
Because the Alliance was broken, unbeknownst to them, and so
like?
That's why, aragorn, I thinkyou're describing the army of
the dead.

Jason (20:50):
Yeah, you're mixing stuff up.

Siobhan (20:54):
Is that?

Rob (20:54):
not where they were from the dead marshes.

Jason (20:56):
I said one of the last.
Oh my god.

Siobhan (21:01):
You were close though.

Jason (21:02):
I want to go with either the Dagorlad or the last
alliance, but I'm honestly notsure.
Oh god, good one, alright, thedagger lad or the last alliance,
but I'm honestly not sure, ohgod, good one, all right.

Rob (21:09):
All right, give me that.
D wait.
What are you going for theworld?

Matt (21:15):
last alliance alliance yeah, give me that d, let's try
that so it was the battle ofdagger lad which took place.
So it took place during the warof last alliance, but we were
trying to get very specific, no,no no, hang on, hang on.

Andy (21:31):
Push the button.
Hang on no.

Rob (21:34):
Cosmic Chug.
No, you cannot do that to us.

Matt (21:37):
I can do that to you.
There's a specific battleresponsible for it.

Rob (21:40):
Would everybody be okay.
If nobody gets anything, nopenalties, no anything for that,
I lose a turn.
I lose a turn and I lose alifeline.

Siobhan (21:50):
But I'm not taking any points.
I agree with that.

Rob (21:53):
Is that fair?
But also we give a Cosmic Chugto Matt.
Yeah, drink you, jackass.

Matt (21:58):
The ass question Give me something to drink, then I need
something to drink.

Siobhan (22:03):
Give him the shitty one .

Matt (22:07):
Pour that a little deeper there my podcast damn it.
That was deep.
That was the banana bread alethat I just Cosmic Chugged.
It was quite good.
Thank you, eagle, all right.

Siobhan (22:17):
Great Go ahead what.

Matt (22:19):
Okay, siobhan, who was the leader of the elves during the
Second Age, who played asignificant role in the events
leading to the war of lastalliance?
Was it gilgalad, elrond, galadriel or therendwill?

Siobhan (22:32):
oh, um, second age.
Did elrond leave the elves inthe second age?
I'm gonna go with elrond yeah,is it the first one.

Matt (22:42):
I think it's d.
It is actually gilgalad, wasn'tthe high king?
No, it's the first one.
Yeah, I was close, I know.
Yeah, I was close, I know it'son Thranduil because that's
somebody else.
I'm.

Siobhan (22:52):
Galadriel.
Yeah, no, thranduil, that'strue.

Rob (22:55):
Galadriel, can I ask a question here?
Yeah, what age do theFellowship take place in the
third?

Matt (23:04):
It's the third one.
That's why I had to thinkearlier.

Rob (23:06):
See, I needed to know that, thank you, thank you Moving on.

Siobhan (23:09):
Yeah, so we're not there yet.
Is what we're saying?

Rob (23:11):
Yes, you're not there yet, great.

Siobhan (23:13):
Okay, yep, sorry.
Well, here I am.

Matt (23:17):
Andy.
Yes.
What was the fate of Numenor atthe end of the second age?
Destroyed by a giant wave, destroyed by an earthquake or
destroyed by an asteroid?
I'm going with the big wave.

Andy (23:32):
That is correct.
That is correct.
I was going to say did theyhave asteroids?
I remember being on the island.

Jason (23:35):
I'm like I think it was a little bit of like the first
three, like there was anearthquake too.
I don't remember.

Rob (23:40):
Yes, the earthquake made the wave happen, but the wave is
what overtook it.

Siobhan (23:46):
Yes, the wave happened, but the wave is what overtook
it.
Yes, ooh, good job, all right, who's drinking Science, science.

Andy (23:54):
I'm thinking Siobhan's drinking.

Siobhan (23:56):
Oh my God, Now I'm down to two.
Oh no, that's so mean Whatever.

Rob (24:02):
Gesturing for the bottle opener.

Matt (24:09):
Jay, it's going to be your turn as soon as our host can
open a beer and read things.
Good lord.
The bottle opener was on theother side of the room.

Siobhan (24:15):
Oh my god, you didn't go get it.
It's because it's a Steeler'sbottle opener.

Andy (24:20):
So it was way over there where their playoff hopes are.
Yeah.

Matt (24:26):
Dude, I feel that Damn.

Rob (24:30):
I feel that in my soul burn of all burns burn like the
fires of motor j.

Matt (24:40):
Keeping with the same thing.
What did the new minorians dothat directly defied a ban set
by the valar, leading to theirdownfall?
Built a, a fleet to sail eastto conquer Middle-earth.
Built a fleet to sail west tochallenge the Valar in pursuit
of immortality.
Formed alliances with orcs andbuilt ships for them, or
assisted Sauron in the forgingof the rings.

Jason (24:59):
It'd be B.
They went to Valinor.

Matt (25:01):
That is correct, they were specifically told you will not
get immortality.
Do not sail this way.
Hence big wave Everybody dies.

Andy (25:10):
Mostly.

Siobhan (25:11):
Who's drinking?

Andy (25:12):
Your ships are cute.
Let's go Rob Giant wave woulddo something terrible to them.

Rob (25:16):
All right, All right, All right.
I'm still in this Aria.
Can you recap the scores please?
I can.

Siobhan (25:22):
Rob is at three, I am at two, womp Andy's at four,
jay's at four.
Everybody has all of theiroptions for lifelines, except
for Rob not having me get adouble anymore.

Rob (25:34):
And Matt is still an asshat , correct we established that
Choice E.

Matt (25:39):
It's an asshelm Asshelm.

Siobhan (25:42):
That's so true, asshelm .
That's great, I love that.

Matt (25:46):
How does that even work?

Siobhan (25:48):
What?
It's just a helmet.

Rob (25:49):
No one knows what it means.

Siobhan (25:50):
It's a helmet that looks like an ass it's the same
as an ass hat, but it's a lotmore firm Right.

Rob (25:56):
A firm ass Made of plate steel.
What is happening?

Siobhan (26:04):
Gin and tonic is happening Sometimes.

Andy (26:05):
I'm curious why you keep doing this.
You just get continually abused, week after week.
We love you, though.

Siobhan (26:13):
I'm just saying the truth.

Matt (26:14):
These are my best friends.

Siobhan (26:17):
I am saying true facts out here.

Andy (26:19):
Okay, You're going to have to change the title to Matt
Gets Made Fun of by the Universe.

Siobhan (26:25):
Well, no, we're recording now, but I was going
to say before we recorded therewere a lot of things that were
thrown at me also.

Matt (26:31):
Rob.
Yes, which two characters havetheir final resting place next
to Aragorn, legolas and Gimli, vormir and Faramir, merry and
Pippin or Elrond and Arwen?

Rob (26:46):
Jesus Christ.
That's incorrect, no, okay.

Siobhan (26:51):
Well, he was there, he rose out.
Hold on, hold on, he's notthere anymore.

Rob (26:54):
I'm going to go with Legolas and Gimli.

Matt (26:57):
That is unfortunately incorrect.

Andy (26:58):
Don't tell me it's Elrond, hold on, hold on.
No, it's not.
Read the answers again.

Matt (27:03):
Is it Legolas and Gimli, boromir and Faramir, merry and
Pippin or Elrond and Arwen?

Andy (27:09):
Oh, Merry and Pippin.

Matt (27:11):
Merry and Pippin is the correct answer.
Well, I'm very wrong.

Siobhan (27:15):
We all were going to figure it out when he told us
the right answer.
I am.

Rob (27:20):
I lose the point.

Siobhan (27:22):
So at the age of 102,.

Matt (27:24):
They returned to Rohan and Gondor.
They passed in Gondor and werelaid to rest among the kings and
later moved next to Aragorn.

Siobhan (27:33):
Hence the final resting place.
All right.
Well, at least we're gettinginto people that I know it was
after they got bored andmurdered the shit out of orcs
Word.

Andy (27:40):
Oh, those two went on a murder rampage.

Siobhan (27:42):
Hell yeah, go for it Sometimes you gotta, y'all
earned it, you gotta do what yougotta do.

Matt (27:47):
So, keeping with the morbid death questions Great.
After the death of his wife, with special permission, this
character was allowed passage tothe Undying Lands of Valinor.
Was it Faramir, sam Pippin orAragorn?

Siobhan (28:01):
Oh, um, I guess I'll go with Sam.

Matt (28:05):
It was Sam, correct.
Great, my God, I got one right.
I would have guessed that.

Rob (28:07):
Yeah, okay, great yeah, good for me, good guess.

Siobhan (28:10):
All right, everybody Suck it.
I don't know.
I'm going to make Jay drink.
Oh yeah, you're fine, you'll beall right.
You studied a lot more than therest of us Study's a strong
word.
It's okay, you read theCimmerillion before you got here
, so you know.
Yes, yay.

Matt (28:31):
Andy Mm-hmm.
From where does the batteringram used during the siege of
Minas Tirith, named Grond, derive its name?
The black axe wielded byGothmog?
A mace wielded by Morgoth, anancient wizard's staff, or
Morgoth's greatest werewolf?
You've got lifelines galore.

Andy (28:51):
I'm putting on the ring.
Oh Whoa, I'm so happy I'mtossing it.

Siobhan (28:55):
I'm so happy.
Oh, Matt's going to cry.

Rob (28:57):
I'm tossing it hey real quick.
I'll make a guess at it.
Can we still know the answer tothat question?

Matt (29:09):
I think it's the mace and son of a bitch, jay actually
inspired that question becausewhen we went to see the movie,
you knew exactly where it camefrom.

Siobhan (29:13):
Did I, yes, you did.
He did in another life well wayback when I knew, but he didn't
put on him.

Andy (29:18):
I forgot more than you'll ever know.

Matt (29:20):
That was only 20 years ago so on the ring.

Siobhan (29:22):
what's the question now ?

Matt (29:24):
All right.
Prior to Sir Ian McKellen priorto.
Sir Ian McKellen, who wasoffered the role of Gandalf but
turned it down, saying he justdidn't get Tolkien's world.
Nicolas Cage Was it?

Andy (29:40):
I just want you to sit on it.

Jason (29:41):
I want to see that version.

Rob (29:43):
Desperately.

Andy (29:44):
I hope it's Chris Walken.
You shall not pass.
You shall not pass, you shallnot pass you Balrog.
I wield the ancient flame.

Rob (29:54):
Fly you fools.
The ring was in my anus Fly youfools In my ass.

Andy (30:01):
Is it secret?
Is it safe?

Matt (30:04):
I would love to watch that .

Rob (30:07):
I would be ready.

Matt (30:08):
Okay, Anybody out there listening who is good with AI.
You can make this happen for us.

Siobhan (30:14):
Okay, anyway, all right , anyhow, who is it?

Matt (30:19):
So, prior to Sir Ian McKellie, who was offered the
job, sean Connery, pierce, brosnan, alec Baldwin or Anthony
Hopkins as much as Brosnan AlecBaldwin or Anthony Hopkins, as
much as I want it to be EricBaldwin, I would assume not him.

Andy (30:37):
I don't know who offers Pierce any roles.
Well then, I'm going to alsomake it a double, and we're
going to throw it to Siobhan.

Siobhan (30:45):
I think it's Sean Connery.

Andy (30:46):
I was thinking Sean Connery as well.

Siobhan (30:49):
I would like it to be.

Andy (30:50):
Sean Connery.
We're agreeing on Sean Connery,we're going with Sean Connery.
It was.

Matt (30:54):
Sean Connery, all right.

Rob (30:56):
High five.

Siobhan (30:57):
High five.

Matt (30:58):
Full of a joke.
I loved learning about thiswhen I made the question.
So he claimed he read the booksand the script and just didn't
get it.
He turned down.
Wait for this 30 million and15% of the box office, which
amounts to around $450 million.

Siobhan (31:13):
Okay, that's ridiculous and the dude is dead.
He's not dead.

Andy (31:18):
He still made enough money that he didn't give a shit.

Rob (31:22):
He didn't even need it, and why?

Andy (31:25):
Because he's one of the correct answers for the best
Bond.

Siobhan (31:28):
Right, I really enjoyed .

Andy (31:29):
Daniel Craig as well.

Siobhan (31:30):
That's fine.

Andy (31:32):
I'm against you.
I hated Daniel Craig.

Siobhan (31:34):
Whoa, that's a All right.

Andy (31:36):
To me, Daniel Craig was not what Bond was written to be.

Siobhan (31:40):
He wasn't the in Fleming kind of version of the
Bond.

Andy (31:44):
That's fair.

Matt (31:45):
That's fair.

Siobhan (31:45):
I like that we can literally go off on this for a
long time.

Rob (31:48):
I don't want to do that.
Are you guys recouping points?

Andy (31:52):
To be fair, we need Chris here for that conversation.

Matt (31:54):
A hundred percent.
Do we need to do Bond trivia?
Absolutely, I would love thatOkay.

Siobhan (32:00):
Please let's do it, chris is not allowed to play.

Andy (32:02):
Chris hosts that one.

Siobhan (32:04):
I'm definitely going to recoup a point because I need
it.
Points, all right Points abound.

Rob (32:09):
Andy, you son of a bitch.

Siobhan (32:10):
Boo.

Rob (32:11):
Okay.

Matt (32:13):
So that makes it Jason's question.

Siobhan (32:15):
Yes.

Matt (32:16):
In the Return of the King, the mouth of Sauron delivers a
message to Aragorn and companyat the Black Gate of Mordor.
What is the imposing gate'sname?
Is it Moran Morgoth Gate, theTeeth of Mordor, or Morannon,
Like Mike Indeed?

Andy (32:37):
I was kind of hoping for that.
Certain people are going to getthat joke and they're going to
be laughing their butts off.

Jason (32:43):
I believe it's D Moranon is how I always said it Moranon.

Matt (32:47):
Yeah, isn't that right?
It might be because my banddirector's name in high school
sounded.

Siobhan (32:53):
You could extrapolate on it, Moran and Moran.
What?

Matt (32:57):
We're going to go with D.
D is the correct answer, allright.

Jason (33:01):
Well done, I'm going to go ahead and bring Andy back
down here, oh good, call we Allright, all right, where are we
standing?

Siobhan (33:08):
Well, Rob has two.

Rob (33:10):
Deuce.

Siobhan (33:11):
I have three, andy has four, jay has three.
Look out.

Rob (33:16):
All right If I.
Okay, Before he even answersthis question.
If the answer is Nazgul, I'mgetting a point back.

Siobhan (33:25):
Okay, I'm going to Calm down.

Matt (33:27):
The answer to this question is not Nazgul.

Rob (33:29):
Son of a bitch.

Matt (33:30):
Okay.
As a matter of fact, the answerto none of these questions is
Nazgul, bullshit, crap.

Siobhan (33:37):
If one of those ring rates.

Rob (33:38):
I'll give you a half a point, okay.

Matt (33:40):
All right, what's my question?
All right, in the movies byPeter Jackson, aragorn receives
Andoril reforged from the shardsof Narsil before riding to
confront the dead man ofDunharrow.
When does he receive the sword?
In the books, aragorn reclaimsAndoril from the Borodowns after
confronting, afterconfrontation with the Nazgul.
He receives Andoril during theCouncil of Elrond.

(34:03):
He receives Andoril from LadyGaladriel in Lothorian when the
Fellowship passes through.
Or he receives Andoril byDenethor in Minas Tirith.

Rob (34:12):
Duh, I'm punting this one.
You're putting it on somebodyelse's tab.
I'm putting it on Andy's tabAndy.

Jason (34:19):
See them.

Andy (34:21):
Put it on Andy's tab.
Andy, see them.
Put it on their tab.
See, the issue here is.
The question's not correct, ohGod.

Siobhan (34:28):
Uh-oh.

Andy (34:30):
Because he had it with him the whole time, the whole time.
The question is, when was itreforged?
Okay, he was carrying theshards the whole time because he
showed it to people to provehis right.

Matt (34:47):
Okay, if we're going to go , technicalities at some point.
He handed it over to the elves.
They forced him to hand it back.

Siobhan (34:52):
So who did it?
Who he got it from?

Andy (34:57):
I have to go with at the council.
I'm not real confident on that.
Okay, but that would be myanswer, that is correct.

Siobhan (35:05):
Oh Wait, I was going to say him oh right, because he
has to answer because of tap.

Matt (35:09):
Crap.
Got it All right Hanging on bya thread of me too, Yep.
All right, who were the threebearers of the elven rings of
power created by Celebrimbor andSauron?
Legolas, gandalf and Aragorn?
Galadriel, elrond and Gandalf, celebrimbor, galadriel and
Elrond, or Saruman, elrond andGaladriel.

Siobhan (35:34):
Was Saruman an elf.
These were the three elvenrings of power.
Okay.

Matt (35:41):
I think it's the last one Saruman Elrond and.

Rob (35:48):
Galadriel.
Yes, it is incorrect.
It's C, caleb Brimbor.
It is B, it's, b, it's.

Andy (35:52):
Galadriel.

Matt (35:53):
Elrond and Gandalf.

Andy (35:56):
Okay, ooh, this is delightful.
The Dragon's Milk is absolutelydelightful.
This is like right up my alleywith beers, andy.

Matt (36:08):
Two of the characters in the books but not mentioned in
the movies by Peter Jackson wereTom Bombadil and his wife
Goldberry.

Siobhan (36:16):
I knew about that.

Andy (36:17):
Damn oh, tom Bombadil, dingleberry Tom Bombadil.

Rob (36:21):
Was Dingleberry one of the options.

Andy (36:24):
What were the options?
Finish your beer.

Matt (36:28):
Oh, I thought that maybe it was for Ace.
He looks so disappointed.

Andy (36:33):
What were the?

Matt (36:33):
options Glenn or Goldenberry, Goldrian or Gwen.

Rob (36:40):
So Dingleberry not on there , correct?
Okay, well, a man can dream.

Andy (36:45):
I'm going to make Jay drink Jay song.

Matt (36:51):
So Jay in the lore, who composed the poem All that Is
Gold Does Not Glitter, was itFrodo?

Jason (37:00):
Is that like an SE Hinton ?

Siobhan (37:04):
We love that cut.

Matt (37:05):
Bobby.

Siobhan (37:06):
Frost.

Matt (37:07):
Was it Frodo, walden, bilbo, gandalf or Aragorn who
composed it?

Siobhan (37:14):
EE Cummings.

Jason (37:16):
I'm just going to use my ring on that one.

Siobhan (37:19):
Oh, good call.
No, it's worth it.
It's worth it.
Love that.

Andy (37:22):
Bilbo right, it was actually Bilbo, yes, oh good for
him who helped him finish itGet out of here, sam Wise, no
Frodo.
No, the Dunedin Gandalf.
Aragorn, oh, aragorn, yes.

Siobhan (37:35):
Strider, so we're going to keep that same theme.

Rob (37:39):
Oh, I see what you did there.

Matt (37:40):
You guys love that Sean Connery question.
You will adore this one.
Oh boy, many actors wereconsidered for roles in the Lord
of the Rings movies.
Which of the following is apotential actor-character
pairing?
That is not real?
Wasn't actually considered?
Nicolas Cage as Aragorn, liamNeeson as Boromir, david Bowie

(38:02):
as Elrond, uma Thurman is Arwenor E?
All of these were considered,oh.

Jason (38:07):
I'm pretty sure Bowie was considered For real.
I think so.
I think that's real.
Wow, can you read them again?

Matt (38:16):
Yeah, nicholas Cage is Aragorn, liam Neeson is Boromir,
david Bowie is Elrond, umaThurman is Arwen, or all of
these were considered.

Andy (38:28):
So you're looking for the one that was not real?

Matt (38:30):
That is not.
You're looking for the one thatwas not real.

Rob (38:33):
Or Matt's an asshole, and the answer is E, all of them.

Matt (38:37):
Yep.

Andy (38:38):
Oh, this is tough.
I'm a fan of an all the above.

Siobhan (38:41):
Gross.

Jason (38:43):
I find it hard to think Nicholas Cage would be
considered for this.

Matt (38:45):
You can still I believe Jay can still make it a double
also if you would like.
Is that correct?

Jason (38:49):
I could.
Yeah, you sure can.

Matt (38:50):
I can.
Rob could use some points.
Whoa.

Siobhan (38:59):
Rob's mildly awake to help you.

Rob (39:03):
No, rob's mildly awake to help you.
I'm no, I'm very awake, I justI don't know, I don't think
anyone knows this.

Siobhan (39:05):
This is all just me guess it would definitely be a
guess for all of us.
What was the second one again?

Matt (39:10):
second one was Liam Neeson is Boromir, he's got a special
set of skills man.

Andy (39:16):
I mean to be fair.
Liam Neeson dies in movies justas much as Sean B oh, it's true
, good point.

Siobhan (39:26):
Freaking Sean Bean man no.

Jason (39:28):
I'm going to go E all of the above.
They were all considered.

Matt (39:30):
That is correct.

Jason (39:31):
Yay, I did know about Nick Cage.
I didn't know that was real.

Siobhan (39:36):
That was part of my joke earlier.
I knew that he wasn't dead.
That's amazing.
Is that nuts?
Am I crazy?
That wasn't that long ago.
So wait, this gets better.

Matt (39:44):
This gets much better.

Siobhan (39:45):
Oh, I wanted to.

Matt (39:46):
So all those were considered, along with Jake
Gyllenhaal as Frodo, danielDay-Lewis as Aragorn, patrick
Stewart as Gandalf yes, thatwould be, great and my absolute
least favorite, James Corden asSamwise.

Siobhan (39:59):
Gamgee.

Matt (40:01):
You know what?

Andy (40:02):
You know what no.

Siobhan (40:03):
You know what?

Andy (40:04):
A young James Corden probably.
Yeah, I don't think he wouldhave been as good.

Siobhan (40:09):
No, but Sean Astin was so great, so great.

Andy (40:13):
I know I don't think he would have been as good.

Rob (40:14):
Well, that casting department did all the right
things, jay, do the right thinghere.

Jason (40:18):
I got it.
I'm going to give it to Andy.

Rob (40:21):
Yes, that's the right thing .

Siobhan (40:23):
That's the right thing he did.
The man I thought you wereasking me to knock you out of
the game.
No, no, none of us ever askedfor that in this.

Rob (40:31):
No, all right, all right.
So at the end of this round, where are we at?

Siobhan (40:34):
Let's do a recap.
Everybody, Rob has one point.

Rob (40:38):
Hang it on.

Siobhan (40:38):
Still has the ring lifeline.

Rob (40:40):
I do.

Siobhan (40:41):
I have all the lifelines and I have two points.
Andy still has the ability toput it on someone else's tab and
has three points, and Jay hasmake it a double and put it on
someone else's tab and has twopoints.

Rob (40:57):
Okay.

Matt (40:57):
I'm ready.

Rob (40:58):
Are you sure?
No, Well you got the ring, Imight have to bring it.
It depends on what?

Matt (41:08):
my initial question is what was the fate of Morgoth at
the conclusion of the first age?
Was he imprisoned in a timelessvoid, slain by Erendil,
banished to middle earth?

Rob (41:22):
redeemed and forgiven by the.

Siobhan (41:23):
Velar, I'm going to ring.
I thought this waschronological, but I guess not.

Matt (41:26):
No, I decided we were going to hop around.

Siobhan (41:28):
You decided now that you remembered, rob had a
lifeline.

Rob (41:33):
My guess is that he was redeemed.
No, okay, great, well, good,I'm glad I used my ring.

Matt (41:40):
Correct, it's all right.
So if you don't know this, after his defeat by the host of
Valar, he was crippled, castupon his face, bound with a
chain, and his iron crown wasbeaten into a collar around his
neck.
He was taken from Middle-earthand thrust to the Door of Night
into the timeless void outsideof space and time, and it said
he would return at the end ofthe world and it said he would

(42:00):
return at the end of the world.

Siobhan (42:01):
Well, there you go.
That's terrible.
So it was like General Zod andSuperman 2.

Matt (42:03):
No, if you read the first Age of Silmarillion, he deserved
all that much more?

Siobhan (42:07):
Yeah, he was sucky.
Okay, so what is my realquestion?
What is the ring question?

Matt (42:11):
Who won an Oscar for Best Original Song for Lord of the
Rings Return of the King?
Was it Enya Annie Lennox, AnnieLennox, Sarah.
Mclaughlin or Pat Benatar,annie Lennox.
It was for Into the West, goodjob.

Rob (42:26):
Well done, andy gets a drink.

Andy (42:30):
Now, anya had that like Eerie song All her shit is eerie
.

Siobhan (42:35):
It was, may it Be.

Matt (42:38):
Fellowship of the Ring Early.
Early Rings Siobhan, the sevensons of Fianor May it be.

Rob (42:40):
Yeah, may it be.
Was the one Fellowship of theRing.
You think of a different one?

Matt (42:42):
Early rings Siobhan the seven sons of Hianor were driven
by an oath sworn to theirfather to reclaim the Silmarils
from Morgoth.
What was the result of theirpursuit of the Silmarils?
They all perished.
They returned the Silmarils toValinor.
They hid the Silmarils inMiddle-earth.
Unable to return them toValinor, they turned against

(43:05):
each other and just gave up.

Siobhan (43:05):
I'm really mad we're still not in the Third Age,
because that's where I knowthings.
Did they all die?
I hope they all died.

Matt (43:16):
That is correct.

Siobhan (43:17):
Hooray, oh my god good.

Matt (43:18):
They all died in various horrific ways.

Jason (43:22):
Great.
They were passed.
They all died in varioushorrific ways.

Matt (43:25):
They were awful, awful people.
They were like we're going toget these back at all costs, but
we're going to die in terribleways trying to do it.

Siobhan (43:30):
I will give it to Jay the first two.

Andy (43:31):
They tried to connect them and just exploded.

Jason (43:34):
I don't think so.

Matt (43:36):
There was a lot of stuff.

Jason (43:38):
Morgoth had been his crown for a long time.

Siobhan (43:40):
Yeah, I'm going to give it to Jay because he has more
lifelines.

Matt (43:45):
All right, there we go Than Andy does, all right.

Siobhan (43:47):
We're getting down to the wire here.

Rob (43:48):
We are, we're down to it.
Yo, if you win this, I'll be soimpressed.

Siobhan (43:53):
I will also be impressed, because I don't know
shit with all this.

Matt (43:57):
Andy, Andy.
Yeah.
Which great dragon bred byMorgoth was the largest and most
formidable of all dragons inMiddle-earth during the First
Age?
Was it Ancalagon, SmaugGlaurung or Thorondor, I guess?

Andy (44:16):
dragon.
I literally watched a video onall the dragons of Middle-ear
earth like two weeks ago for fun, what the hell is going on for
this?

Rob (44:52):
I'm going to put it on Rob's tab Now.
Let us remind the listeners athome that if I get this wrong,
he's out.
No.

Siobhan (45:00):
Oh no.

Rob (45:00):
I don't lose a point.

Siobhan (45:01):
Correct.

Rob (45:03):
Because he just maintains If I get it right, he loses a
point.

Matt (45:09):
So I can't go out on this.

Rob (45:11):
I can't go out on this, so give me my choices.

Matt (45:15):
Which great dragon bred by Morgoth was the largest and
most formidable.

Rob (45:18):
Yeah, just give me the names, I know the question Okay,
do ya?

Matt (45:23):
Yeah, do Ancalagon Smaug Glaurung or Tharondor?

Rob (45:28):
It's Tharobdor, tharobdor.

Matt (45:33):
Burning in the countryside .
No, it is definitely not.
It is Ancalagon the Black.
He was slain at the end of thewar of wrath by rendel and the
eagles led by thurandor, although his actual size is
never specified oh, thurandor isan eagle.

coolest, thangoradrim.

Matt (45:58):
he destroyed three volcanic mountain peaks,
crushing, crushing them torubble.
He was a big boy, not Svelte.

Siobhan (46:04):
Well, well done.
Wait, Andy loses a point.

Rob (46:07):
No, he does not.
I got it wrong.

Siobhan (46:08):
You got it wrong, but nobody so nobody nothing.

Rob (46:11):
No, no, no, he punted it well.

Siobhan (46:13):
Right.

Rob (46:14):
Yes, great Fair punt.

Siobhan (46:17):
All right everybody.
We're still in it though.

Matt (46:19):
It's good, jay, are you ready?
Yes, all right, maiar, arelesser Einor than the Valar, but
still very powerful, whichMaiar served as the chief
lieutenant of Morgoth during theFirst Age.

Jason (46:39):
Was it Sauron, gothmog, ungoliant or Grand?

Matt (46:43):
Sauron, that would actually be Gothmog.

Siobhan (46:45):
Lord of the Balrogs, you're out.

Matt (46:49):
You're going to dispute this one on the chief lieutenant
.

Siobhan (46:51):
I would if I were him, because he gets kicked out.

Rob (46:55):
Jay is about to lose.

Siobhan (46:57):
Correct.

Matt (46:59):
It was which of the Maiar Served as the chief lieutenant
of Morgoth during the First AgeSauron, gothmog, angoliant or
Grond.

Siobhan (47:08):
Angoliant's a spider.

Matt (47:09):
Correct, so that's not the right answer, grond had a mace.

Rob (47:13):
We learned that earlier.
Grond was a mace.

Matt (47:15):
We learned that earlier.

Siobhan (47:16):
Grond was a mace.
It is not the space betweenyour balls and your asshole.
It was the mace.

Andy (47:22):
Get out of here.
It is if you swing it right.

Matt (47:26):
So when I looked at the questions I got, gothmog was the
chief lieutenant, sauron wasessentially lesser general.

Jason (47:33):
I just googled Morgoth Maiar, chief lieutenant.
The person that comes up isSauron Bad check.

Siobhan (47:38):

Siobhan (54:35):
Dunedain of the men, yeah.

Matt (54:38):
The Ronduel King of the Woodland Realm, Rob.
How many years after the Hobbitdoes the Lord of the Rings take

Yeah, you succeeded.

Rob (55:39):
Well, some of them were rough.
There was some tough ones.

Siobhan (55:41):

do with a horse.
He didn't ask any questionsabout any of the females.
I know there was no geography.

Jason (56:12):
Okay let's point that out .

Andy (56:14):
To be fair, Tolkien really didn't do much about the
females.
Most of the stuff, aside fromEowyn, that Tolkien wrote in, or
most of the stuff female-wiseaside from Eowyn justice for
females on Middle.

Rob (56:28):
Earth.

Siobhan (56:28):
Correct.
Well, you know.

Matt (56:31):
Me too.

Siobhan (56:32):
It was the 50s.

Galadriel was the shit though.

Andy (56:41):
Are the wizards actually gendered?

Siobhan (56:44):
Well, maybe not.
I love that for them.

Matt (56:46):
The answer to that is, technically, no, they're spirits
, they're not that is the formthey took at that particular
moment.

Siobhan (56:53):
We love that for them.
We love a non-binary wizard.
We love that for Ian McKellen, who would probably prefer that
in real life, I'm sure he wouldAbsolutely Right Well.
Yas, Okay, but Galadriel wasthe shit too.

Rob (57:04):
You weren't expecting that, were you, Rob?
I?

Andy (57:05):
don't know I know Ha ha.

Rob (57:08):
I mean.

Siobhan (57:09):
Galadriel was cool, though, yeah.

Andy (57:11):
Our turn to ask you questions All right, whoa Go for
it.

Matt (57:16):
Somebody give me another beer.

Siobhan (57:23):
of shit you didn't know , because I'm about to ask you
some dumb shit.
I was going to say go ahead, wewent through quite a few.

Andy (57:31):
There's an off chance that if you ask me them, I won't
remember because I made themlike six, seven weeks ago.

Matt (57:45):
Can you tell me the name of either of?

Jason (57:47):
the two blue wizards, that'd be Blue's Clues and Blue
Daba Dee, steve, no, it's Blueyand Bingo.

Siobhan (57:51):

Matt (57:55):
Anybody got a guess Is Radagast no, he's brown.

Rob (57:56):
I'm going to guess the brown.

Andy (57:58):
I don't know.
Is Radagast?
No, he's brown.
I'm going to guess the brown.

Jason (58:01):
It's one from Palindo, something like that.

Matt (58:04):
One starts with an M, but I can't remember what do you
mean, we don't know?
We don't know.

Siobhan (58:12):
I hate, that.

Matt (58:13):
There's a lot of that.
There's many of them.

Andy (58:18):
There's just the two blue wizards which we don't know what
happened to them, and theyweren't named.

Siobhan (58:22):
Next question oh, this is a good one.

So A the Misty Mountains, B, the Gray Mountains
, c the Lonely Mountain Range,or D, it is hundreds of miles
from any mountain range.

Matt (58:44):

Rob (58:46):
Rude rude.
It says D it's quite lonely,yeah right.

Siobhan (58:50):
Just like his fun notes to himself.

tom Bombadil Old.

Siobhan (58:59):
Tom Bombadil oh yeah, we love a Tom Bombadil, Tom
Bombadil.

Andy (59:02):
What inspired Tom Bombadil ?
I'll even give you multiplechoices.
Was it A their creepy cat, thefamily's creepy cat, was it B
his kid's creepy doll.
C the creepy man who lived twohouses down the street?
Or D it was just their uncle.

(59:23):
E Hagrid A, the creepy cat.
B the creepy doll.
C the creepy man that liveddown the street?
It was just their uncle andthey wanted to put him in the
story.

Matt (59:34):
I'm going to go with the uncle because that seems like it
might fit, but it's probablythe creepy guy down the street.
It was the creepy doll.

Andy (59:40):
It was the creepy doll.
Really might fit but it'sprobably the creepy guy down the
street.
It was the creepy doll.
It was a creepy doll, reallythe creepy doll.

Siobhan (59:46):
The description of it meets the creepy doll.
Wait, I'm also sad that we didnothing about the Ents, because
I love Ents.

Andy (59:51):
Well, we could have, but those questions would have taken
a very long time.
Okay, that's fine, we alreadytook a.

Siobhan (59:56):
really long time we're still taking a very long time If
you have to go to bed.

Rob (01:00:01):
Yes, and on that note, on that bombshell.

Matt (01:00:03):
I think it's time to put a bow on this.

Andy (01:00:07):
