She is not only a speaker, acoach, a servant leader, but
she's also the founder ofCelebrate You, nita Wilson.
I'm so excited that you're here.
Thank you so much for beinghere and being able to share
your story.

Neita Wilson (01:27):
I'm so excited to be here with you as well.
Thank you so much for invitingme.

Jessica Rosario (01:32):
Of course, of course.
So for some of you that don'tknow, nita and I met through a
different program a couple ofprobably about a year ago, right
, and we've been workingtogether ever since.
She's just truly an honor to bein her space.
I just love her energy and howpassionate she is about what
she's doing And I think mostimportantly and you'll get to

(01:55):
hear this on this episode is thevalue that she provides.
That really comes from herheart, and that's been one of
the key things why I thought, the moment she reached out to me
about being on the podcast, i'mlike, of course, i need to have
you here.
So I'm so excited to share yourstory, because I do believe in
echoing people's messagethroughout the world, so that if

(02:18):
there is one person that youcan impact and they heard it
through the Maximize Your Daypodcast even better, right, so
we just need to impact the one.
So, nita, can you just tell usa little bit about your journey
and how it led you to becoming acoach for women?

Neita Wilson (02:34):
Okay, first of all , it was my first client, right,
and it came from the journeythrough life Being a corporate.
I was trying to go up thecorporate ladder And of course,
i hit the glass sitting so manytimes, right, but I would say
the foundation of it all, godhas set the tone.
You know, like with Joseph, what he went through and he was

(02:56):
able to still help his brothers.
I feel that's what happened tome, because if I had not had
that experience, i wouldn't bewhere I am today.
And I say that because I canremember quoting scripture.
Of course, you know God usedthat promotion and all these
things, all these promises I gotwhen I couldn't have my way.
And then I can hear the small, still voice when he told me that

(03:22):
I was ready.
And ready for me was because hekept showing me why I didn't
get jobs, like, for instance, iwould go for interview field,
that I had it And I'll get thosedear down letters that, oh, we
had so many candidates to choosefrom.
Or I had conversation with thehiring managers if I had two
positions, you would have one ofthem.

(03:43):
And I would go to God and saidyou know, lord, why do you feel
it's necessary for me to knowthis.
You know, and only at that lovecorporate did I know that he
was preparing me for.
I got the promotion, but itwasn't the way I thought it
would be.
I was promoted to CEO andfounder of my own company
instead of in the frame ofanother corporation, you know

(04:07):
and.
Yeah, and the preparations waseverything.
That that went through wasactually the experience I need
to help women.
I'm able to you know, to sharefrom a life experience instead
of from a book if you know whatI mean.

Jessica Rosario (04:23):
Yeah, absolutely, and I believe in
purpose, right.
So there's purpose foreverything and I've always said
God's timing is perfect, right.
So when it comes to Navigatingthe corporate world, i resonate
with that so much because Imyself climbed the corporate
ladder for 24 plus years In thebanking industry and I always
joked around because everycompany I worked with they had a

(04:43):
third floor in their corporateoffice.
So I always said you know, igot to the third floor and it
wasn't what it was all hyped tobe, but I always knew there was
more.
And I really started to lookfor purpose driven work When I
relocated from New York toFlorida, because I knew there
was something else for me.
I just didn't know what thatwas.
So I love that you kept hearing, hearing that tug, that whisper

(05:06):
, letting you know hey, you know, get out of your own way,
because my way is so much better.

Neita Wilson (05:11):
Yes, yes, and not only that, jessica.
I can recall Before work, during lunch, and at the work I
was coaching in mentoring, andat the time it was before it was
popular to me, right, and so Iremember having a conversation
with God.
Like you know, i love this, butcan I get paid for, you know?
because not only that, i wasworking by nine to five, but I

(05:35):
didn't have any breaks onlunches because I was still
meeting with people and helpingwomen.
Now, it was the joy of my heart, but of course, there was a
balance there because I didn'tget a chance to exhale.
But it was all worth it.

Jessica Rosario (05:47):
Yeah, definitely, and you know, and I
have no regrets.
Sometimes I feel like My regretcould have been leaving sooner.
Right, i should have leftsooner when I had multiple
opportunities, like the signswere right there, right, but but
also understanding that God wascontinuing to mold me Into the
woman that I was supposed tobecome.
And and I had this conversationrecently with someone who

(06:10):
talked about the journey ofbecoming, and we're always in
that process of becoming right,it's not that, it's not that
there's a destination, that wearrive.
Even the entrepreneurialjourney, it's not okay.
Well, i'm an entrepreneur today, right, and we've arrived, but
no, we are constantly evolvingand growing and that comes with,
you know, leaps and valleys.

(06:32):
That comes with, sometimes, alot of Loneliness, solitude,
right, which, which solitude?
solitude can be good, let's bereal But it also comes with
times that we feel Like we startto question our why and why am
I doing this and why do I feelLost?
and that leads us to feelingSome level of defeat.

(06:54):
Right, i walked away from thecorporate space and I feel
defeated.
And And I'd love for you totell me more about that, because
I know that That is one of theareas that you focus on with
women It's women who are feelinglost, who are living a life but
still feeling defeated.
So, when it comes to thoseclients, what are some common
themes that you see among thewomen that you work with?

Neita Wilson (07:17):
You know, jessa, that's a good question, because
the most common thing that I'veseen is women suffering in
silence.
You know we believe.
First, we're women of faith.
You know how you go to churchand you have that smile, you
have a nice outfit and I said, jessica, how you doing It's like
the lord is good, i'm blessedand all the things right.

(07:39):
But secretly deep inside theresay emptiness.
Secretly, deep inside, you'refeeling defeated, inside You're
feeling stuck.
But because you have the facadeof being this christian, this
facade of being a woman of faith, of course you can't share with
another one because guess what?
they're wearing the facade too,you know.
So what I found is I created aspace where Women can really

(08:04):
speak from their heart and knowthat they're not going to be
judged by their thoughts, and init we have removed shame,
because the reality of it is We,like you, like you mentioned
about maybe you could have leftearlier or whatever from a
position.
We all have our what is Andsometimes they can weigh heavy
on us, but really they're just apebble in the the whole river.

(08:29):
But it just takes someone thatyou can share, then release it
with, and that's what I providefor my clients.

Jessica Rosario (08:35):
Wow, wow, you hit it right on the nose on
Struggling silent.
I love that.
You talk about removing shameand having that judgment-free
zone and, as a woman of faithmyself My pastor actually spoke
about this a couple of weeks agoYou're going through struggles
and you're afraid to reach outbecause you're supposed to have
this image right.
So it's like, hey, how youdoing.
Oh, i'm incredibly blessed I'mtoo blessed to be stressed right

(08:59):
But I guess my question to youwould be How do you help women
identify that root cause or, youknow cause?
somebody who might be listeningright now and might be like, oh
my God, that is so me.
I'm so afraid to reach out, i'mso afraid to ask for help.

(09:21):
So how do you help themidentify that root cause of that
struggle of feeling judged orshamed?

Neita Wilson (09:30):
The first thing I would share is to forgive
yourself But all those decisionsthat you thought was not in
alignment of who you wanted tobe.
Forgive yourself And then, onceyou forgive yourself, you park
it there to think about what isit that I want?
I remember speaking with aclient and I asked her if she

(09:54):
can dream her best life, whatwould it be?
And her first response was youmean, i get to dream?
I believe what has happened iswith us as women.
We have so many competingpriorities that over the years
we're way down at the bottom.
So when it comes to us, if youask us what I want, i don't know

(10:15):
, because I've had a hand timeto think about it in 20 years.
You know.
But it does require an innerwork.
You know You can't get to thenext step unless you start where
you are and figure out.
Even if the decision is I'msick or tired of being tired and

(10:35):
I want better for myself, youdon't even have to know what
better is, but the decision thatyou want better is where you'll
begin.

Jessica Rosario (10:46):
So you said first, you remind them that they
need to forgive themselves.

Neita Wilson (10:50):
Yeah, because shame, i have you stuck.
You'll say, well, i didn't dothis.
You can go down the hall, youcan just in agreement with the
devil and go with this wholelist of who you are not what you
could have been And you're justgoing on a rollercoaster ride,
just up and down, going roundand round and round with those
emotions that do not serve you.
So you just forgive yourself orwhatever comes up within you.

(11:18):
Forgive yourself, you areforgiven.
If God has forgiven us, thenwho are we not to forgive
ourselves?
Yeah, you know.
Yeah, and that's where I findthis a lot of people forgive
others but they don't forgivethemselves, or just the opposite
, because they haven't forgiventheirself, they have all of this
adverse feelings towards others, but it's because how can I

(11:40):
forgive you if I haven'tforgiven myself?
So what goes both ways, youknow.
So that's why it's important toforgive themselves and then
make a decision.
Make a decision of what youwant in life, and if that can
start with, i'm just ready tomove forward, whatever that

(12:00):
looks like for you.
You did to decide, you know, and you build, you build your
foundation from there.

Jessica Rosario (12:08):
Yeah, So they get to make a decision to focus
on their inner work.
And we see this a lot, right,You know, especially after COVID
, like mental health was thisbig thing.
But we've been dealing withmental health for years, right?
So one of the things that wesee is, after a loss, after
grieving, after you know perhapsyou know death or something

(12:28):
tragic, right, Divorce we windup looking for therapy and
looking for ways to do thatinner work and make that
decision to go through that, tohelp you go through these steps.
Right, But we seem to attachmental health or therapy
sessions rather to those bigtraumatic issues And we don't

(12:49):
realize that there's so muchmore to that.
I love when you said that shamewill hold you captive, because
it's so true There's many timesthat we're just hiding behind
that shame and walking aroundwith this chip on our shoulder
that we don't even realize it'sthere, right, Everybody sees it
except ourselves, And it takessomeone like you to kind of step

(13:11):
in and help do that inner workto help us navigate through that
.
Now, Nina, tell me how do youthink faith plays into that
process of getting unstuck?

Neita Wilson (13:27):
That's a good question And I would say faith
plays into it because it'sreally about Jesus.
If you remember Scripture John10 to 10, where Jesus said he
came to give us life and give itmore abundantly If you notice,

(13:49):
you don't hear that much like inthe church or in conversation,
but really it's our right tolive abundantly.
So the faith would be intoChrist to show us what it is
that we need or need to removeto have that abundant life that
he promised, but, the mostimportantly, have the faith

(14:11):
enough to receive it.
You know, a lot of times welook at our circumstances and
feels like it doesn't exist.
And it's not.
I'm not talking the materialthings either.
I'm talking about just beingable to live above your
circumstances.
for one, because we know theword says that we will have

(14:31):
trials and tribulations.
So we're not talking about alife free of that, but the
ability to live above thosetrials and tribulations and
still have joy.
And as believers, the Biblesays the joy of the Lord is our
strength.
So when we endure, do we callon him?
all of that comes around tofaith.

(14:53):
Do we really believe the wordfor what it says And are we
applying in our life?
You know it's a question thatwe would act ourselves.

Jessica Rosario (15:03):
And you know, one of the things that I've made
sure that I'm very intentionalwith is being in my quiet space
every single day, right?
I used to find myself that whenI was struggling with something
, that's when I made time.
It was only when I wasstruggling with something.

Neita Wilson (15:18):
When things were great.

Jessica Rosario (15:19):
It was almost non-existent and it was on my
calendar.
You know I'm a planner, right.
So it's on my calendar, right.
So it's not for lack of beingalerted.
Hey, you're in your quiet time,it's so true.
It's living in the world, staying in the world, praying
for wisdom.
I actually just started readinga new book in the Bible And
before I even start reading itbecause I go into chapter one

(15:39):
tomorrow it's more along thelines of give me the wisdom to
understand what I'm reading andreveal yourself in the words
that I'm reading, just to kindof help me guide a little bit
more and understand more of theword.
And how do I apply that to mylife?
Because sometimes we tend toread, because it's the routine
that we've created for our lives.
So I found my, when I'm not inmy quiet time and I'm not

(16:03):
reading the word, that I tend toget lost at times.
The rest of my day just doesn'tfunction well.
I just feel all over the place.
Sometimes I lose motivation andthen I'm like, nope, tomorrow I
am starting with my quiet timeagain.
So, as a coach, you stand byyour faith and you're a servant
leader.
I'm curious on what would yourecommend for the women that are

(16:25):
listening.
How can they stay motivatedeven when they're encountering a
setback or challenge throughoutthe week?
What are some ways that youbelieve that they should stay
motivated?

Neita Wilson (16:40):
That's another good question.
When you talked about beingstill, i can tell you, for years
I will find myself where I wasresting, but I thought it was a
bad thing.
I thought it was a bad thing, but the word of God says be

(17:01):
still and know that I am God.
Now, what I've, what I'velearned through those
experiences, is when I'm stillI'm praying more, like you said,
how you don't have time todrive by.
While I was praying more and fora while I still felt guilty
Because I wasn't doing all thethings, like I wasn't doing the

(17:21):
routine You know, getting adiversity and I'm getting a
Bible and all of that.
But I start going close intoGod and I and I used to say, hi
me like the cliff.
It's.
I don't know if that's in theBible or a song or whatever, but
I can just visualize the burden, the cliff Still being covered,
and I would.
I would just rest in it.
And I tell you, jessica, my mostrecent time where I was being

(17:45):
still, it was revealed to me.
That's when he can talk to youand get your attention and it's
not a bad thing because he tellsus to be still, just literally
being still, whether it's layingin the bed Or whatever being
still looks like to you.
But now I celebrate being still.
But before I felt like, oh, i'mmissing out on something, i'm

(18:07):
not doing anything.
Now I feel assured and I amrested because one thing I
noticed when I came out of thatseason I was motivated, i had
energy to run in a sense, youknow, and that wasn't a bad
thing.
But I couldn't make theconnection because in my head I
was saying, oh, you should bedoing all the things and, boy,

(18:30):
we have to watch the stories wetell ourselves.
But in my heart I knew it wasright and I felt energetic after
going through those seasons.
So, yeah, and being still now,it's now to be transparent, this
time to where we do have valleyexperiences, and what works for
me is worship music, but Idon't feel like doing all the

(18:54):
things.
I would turn it on and, beforeyou know it, it feeds your soul.
So if you're not doing anythingbut humming or moving your head
, you're in its presence Andsometimes that's enough to lift
you up from a dark place.

Jessica Rosario (19:08):
That is so powerful, because worship is
definitely a go-to for me also, and there is a song actually
called Reason to Praise.
I don't know if you've heard it, but it's Cory Asbury.
It talks about giving God thereason to praise, and there's a
part in there that says thatwhen you come around, my Lungs

(19:31):
get filled with air, i get tobreathe again, and when I'm
feeling anxious, that's my go-tosong, because a lot of times,
anxiety increases your breathing, your heart palpitations, right
.
And for me, a lot of mylisteners know that I've
struggled with anxiety.
I've never been shy aboutsaying that Having worship music

(19:51):
is one of the things that helpsme Kind of get back into being
present in the moment and notworrying about the things that I
can't control.
So I love that.
I love that you said that.
Now, yes, meena, what advice doyou give to women of faith who
who are struggling or feelinglost But they might be hesitant

(20:14):
to seek help, whether it'sFinding someone to work with,
like you, or you know whetherit's avid, deeper trauma that
they might need to seekprofessional help.
But What advice do you givethem to make sure that they do
reach out for help?

Neita Wilson (20:33):
Two things come to mind.
The first one is a journal ornotebook To write the thoughts
from your head to yourfingertips.
As many times where I've hadissues that Got addressed it or
either I saw an answer as Iwrote You know what I'm saying
where it could have been aproblem, but then I started

(20:54):
thanking God And see a answer tothe problem just in the writing
, you know.
So I would say, first of allwrite your thoughts, but I would
also say, jessica, is I prayThat each woman of God has at
least one person In their lifethat is behind the veil.

(21:17):
You know, we tend to, like I,have different levels of
friendships, but there's only afew people that are behind the
bill, which, which that means,is Someone I can pour my soul
out to.
And no, i'm not going to bejudged, because sometimes what
they can do for you is bringclarity where sometimes your

(21:40):
problem or your situation seemsmuch bigger than life.
And they could take the air outof that balloon and deflate it
and remind you who you are, whoyou are and who God is and what
he has done.

Jessica Rosario (21:56):
So good, so good.
I love that I talk about thesethings too, and it's so
practical and so easy, but yetwe tend to forget them.
But journaling, i mean myaudience knows I designed a
journal, right.
So the own it journal.
It's a guided journal thatgives you prompts for those that
don't know what to journalabout, but you don't have to use

(22:17):
the prompts, right.
But journaling, i definitelyAgree, that has been one of the
most powerful ways to get yourthoughts out of your head and on
paper and giving you theability to just kind of it's
almost like you're you get todecompress.
But I love also what you saidon the person that in their life
that's behind behind the veil.

(22:38):
I always talk about yourclosest five who's in your tribe
, right?
But that's so true.
Someone that's behind the veil, that knows what you're going
through, that's not going tojudge you, that might hold you
accountable right and mightbring you back to reality.
But they're doing it with loveand they're doing it because
they know they understand yourcircumstances and they're not
judging you for it.

(22:59):
So so powerful, so good.
So so need I.
You know that my podcast is allabout sharing other women's
stories and, of course, findingways to help them maximize their
day in every single thing thatthey do.
So I have two questionsactually for you.
One of them is how do youbelieve that a woman who's

(23:22):
feeling overwhelmed or stuck, how do you believe that, impacts
productivity?

Neita Wilson (23:30):
I believe that that actually blocks any
productivity, because you'reblacking, first of all, the best
version of yourself And thensecondly, when you mentioned the
word suck, you're.
It's almost like you're blinded, because you like see yourself
like in a dark room where youdon't know where to turn or

(23:51):
where to go, so you're juststanding still, which that does
not serve you.

Jessica Rosario (23:58):
So good.
In what ways do you tend tomaximize your day?

Neita Wilson (24:05):
I tend to maximize my day by living each day with
intention and I prioritizewhat's important, like my
husband is retired and I enjoywhat I'm doing because I'm
working in purpose, but I haveto make sure that I'm spending
time with him, for example, andthen with competing priority

(24:29):
priorities.
I want to make sure my valuesare God first, family and then
business.
So when I have those competingpriority times, it by maximizing
my day.
I keep that order in the backof my head and it gives me peace
at night.

Jessica Rosario (24:46):
Yeah, so good.

Neita Wilson (24:48):
So good, i love that.

Jessica Rosario (24:50):
So what, what do you have coming up me, as you
have anything exciting that mylisteners should know in the
upcoming months for you.

Neita Wilson (24:58):

which is the first Sunday ofeach month, and then I also have
