There is no loss like the loss of your pet. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bridge" is a meditation to help with your grief and aid in your healing. If you feel ready to imagine the other side of the rainbow bridge, where you may reunite with your pet and revisit your timeless connection, find a safe place to listen. Use this meditation to shower yourself with all the love you shared with your pet and honor all that you shared.
I recently said to goodbye to my 13.5 year old chihuahua, Jack. The script for this meditation was written months ago as he slept in his bag by my feet as we traveled on an Amtrak train along the Hudson River. Occasionally anticipatory grief would take me out of the present moment, as if I was I trying to prepare for the inevitable loss one day. Now he is no longer here, I went back and added to this meditation, recognizing the things that were left out. Welcome to meditation tides with Michele's sanctuary. Let the tides of this practice wash
over you with compassion and self care. You are listening too, somewhere over
the Rainbow Bridge, a guided meditationfor the loss of a pet. As

this is a sensitive subject, onlyyou can decide if you are ready to
listen and find a bit of healing. There is no easy way to ever
reconcile a loss like this, butif you feel willing to try, find

a safe place to get comfortable andsettle. You may listen during the day,
or use this to fall asleep andguide you to good dreams of your
dear pet companion. I am Micheland as you listen, think of my

voice as that of a long time, trusted friend who understands the deep love
you felt and shared with your pet. The relationship with your dear animal friend
was unique, formed by unbreakable bondsof loyalty and trust. And as you

flow through the waves of grief,we are going to take this time to
focus on the beauty in the loveyou shared. If you find yourself grappling
with guilt, no you are notalone. It's a natural part of saying

good bye every pet owner may experiencethis at some point, and when it
creeps in, remind yourself that thiskind of guilt is a shade in the
full spectrum of love. Feel ashift within you as you change the way

you approach these feelings. Imagining aband of light representing guilt as it becomes
a vibrant rainbow, as it becomesa vibrant rainbow of love wrapping around you

with empathy. When you find yourselfstuck on recurring thoughts that don't feel good,
be kind to yourself as you rememberthat this loss cuts so deep,
because that is how deep the willsof love you carry are. Pour into

yourself all the compassion that you pouredinto your beloved bet whenever you listen and
give yourself time for this practice,I aim to help you find peace and

focus on all that you share togetheras you reconnect again somewhere beyond the rainbow
bridge. Let's begin by taking amoment to ground ourselves. As you come

to stillness, either comfortably sitting orlying down, your eyes closed on the
outside world so you may draw within. Take a deep breath through your nose,
filling your lungs to their capacity,and Exhale slowly through your mouth.

Feel tension beginning to leave your bodywith each breath out. Sometimes loss causes
our bodies to tense as we holdour breath without even realizing it. But

now we are going to enjoy threemore conscious breaths together, and I invite
you to flow through every feeling thatarises. It will be different each time
you listen. Okay to cry,It's okay to laugh or smile when a

beautiful memory returns. But as youexperience this connection, set your intention to
focus on the brilliance of your love. Keep seeing that bond appearing as vibrant

and alluring as a rainbow on thestormiest of days. As you breathe in,
remember the positive feelings of safety andwarmth you felt when you were with
your beloved pet. Let the loveyou shared return and offer solace. Feel

that sense of comfort and companionship washover you, soothing the ache in your
heart. Exhale and let go ofany pain, guilt, or heaviness.
Pets have a natural way of comfortingus, of just knowing when we need

to be reassured. Imagine your petis here encouraging you to heal, wanting
you to feel comfort. Inhale again, focusing on lightness, softness, and

peace, and exhale, grounding yourselfin this moment that is reserved for you
to experience without judgment, without criticism. Simply flow and feel one more time

inhale the deepest breath you may havetaken so far, and then exhale with
a sigh, make a sound withoutneeding permission. Animals naturally know when to
stretch, yawn, and sigh,and they do so freely whenever they like,

and now you may too, whenyou are ready, let your breath
assume its natural rhythm. Imagine ashimmering rainbow bridge before you. It's a

bridge that connects this world to abeautiful, ethereal realm where your pet awaits.
As we cross this bridge, eachstep you take is filled with the

memories of joy, laughter, andlove that you shared with your pet.
Step on to the bridge, andwith each step, feel a wave of
peace and healing wash over you.The colors of the rainbow surround you,

creating a bone deep sense of tranquilityand serenity. As you make your way
across the bridge, you begin tonotice the shimmering hues merging and swirling enveloping

you in an orb of love.You've made it to the other side of
the rainbow bridge. Before you liesa lush and technicolor landscape filled with emerald

gnolls and rolling hills. Puffy whiteclouds drift across a crystal blue sky,
guided by a gentle breeze, assunlight pours over the meadows in opulent gold.

Pets of all kinds are running withthe vigor of endless youth, their
eyes sparkling with happiness. Many havereunited with their human companions and engage in

activities with a heart felt energy.Inspired by a perfect weather day. You
stand for a moment, taking itall in, and then see your pet

waiting for you and then charging atyou, vibrant and full of life,
feeling better than they ever felt before. They want you to see how much

better they are, soothing you ofall worry. They nuzzle their face against
you, imploring you to stroke itand glance into their eyes. Without words,

they convey to you, I'm okay, and I want you to be
okay too. Together, you beginto explore and walk through this enchanting land.

As you do, you see yourpet by your side, moving gracefully
and confidently through the scenery. Theair is filled with a sense of joy
and playfulness. It's a dreamscape,really, a place where you and your

pet can enjoy new adventures together.It's a place where vitality is cherished.
As you revisit some of the thingsyou most enjoyed doing together. You find

a quiet spot amidst the beauty ofthis realm and sit down in the tall
grass with your pet. As youhold them close, you see your favorite
memories playing out. You take thetime to revel in each one, remembering

the adventures you embarked upon and feelingthe undying, loving connection you formed.
You lose yourself in the soft touchof their fur, the warmth of their
presence, and the pure happiness thatradiated from their gaze. As you remember

these moments, you feel the releaseof oxytocin, the bonding hormone, flooding
your body with comfort and can tentment. This is the power of the love
you shared, a love that transcendstime and space. As you are together,
