Cristo fez tudo por mim. É a Ele que devo um leve e abençoado fardo. Este, no passado, pesava-me nos ombros, tal era o tamanho da minha rebeldia. Vergava-me até ao chão e era por aí que me movia. Rastejava em vez de caminhar. Vivia para mim sem me dar conta que estava morto por dentro. Foi aí que me apercebi que, em Jesus, “Deus me perdoou todos os pecados.” Sem que, pura e simplesmente, o merecesse. Verdade é que nada havia que pudesse fazer para cobrir tanta asneira cometida. A lista de disparates além de vergonhosa era extensa. Sim, reconheço que não sou boa rês e só pela graça de Deus vi “anulada a conta desfavorável das minhas dívidas.” Eu, que nada mais podia fazer se não constatar a minha culpa, fiquei livre de condenação pela força da cruz. Foi pelo amor desmedido de Cristo que a minha barra foi limpa. Nada mais. Não foram actividades religiosas, actos piedosos ou bandeiras denominacionais que me safaram, mas tão somente Jesus. N’Ele o espectro da morte foi vencido. Por Sua causa hoje caminho em triunfo. - jónatas figueiredo
