On this episode of the Men’s Therapy Podcast, holistic wellness coach Benjamin Vozmediano joins us. He shares a deeply personal and eye-opening story of transformation. Benjamin opens up about what it truly means to heal—and how the journey inward is often the most powerful one.

“I had a double life,” Benjamin says. “I was working professionally in wellness, but I was partying hard, numbing myself with alcohol, cocaine, and casual sex.” His honesty pierces through the cultural norm of men suffering in silence. “Depression in men doesn’t always look like sadness. Sometimes it looks like being the life of the party.”

Now in his 40s, Benjamin is living proof of what holistic wellness can look like when it’s embodied. He is building community through Bro Retreats. It is a Sweden-based program designed to help men heal trauma. It helps them reconnect with their bodies and talk openly about the pressures of modern masculinity.

“I finally had to face myself,” he shares, reflecting on the moment he hit rock bottom. That reckoning led him to Peru. Psychedelic therapy for depression helped shift his inner narrative and open new doors to healing. In this conversation, Benjamin and I explore the tools, mindset, and courage it takes for men to rewrite their stories.

Starting with the Basics: Holistic Wellness for Men

“Holistic wellness isn’t just about working out. It’s about sleep, food, connection, movement, and emotional release,” Benjamin explains. He emphasizes four key pillars for building a foundation of health. These include consistent sleep, strength training, walking 10,000–15,000 steps daily, and adequate protein intake.

These simple habits help men reconnect to their physical selves. It is crucial in a world where male burnout and emotional numbness are increasingly common. “Start small,” he advises. “Even just walking daily can shift your entire mental state.”

Benjamin encourages men to take action without overthinking. “Analysis paralysis is killing progress,” he says. “You don’t need a perfect gym plan. Just do ten pushups at home. It’s about priming the pump.”
