In this episode, I sit down with Hien Nguyen, a man whose story moved me deeply. From growing up in war-torn Vietnam to building a new life in the U.S., Hien’s journey is one of resilience, survival, and deep reflection. He opens up about what it was like to live through the Vietnam War, navigate poverty, and step into a leadership role for his siblings after his father’s imprisonment.
Through multiple dangerous attempts to escape Vietnam, Hien never lost sight of one thing: hope. And now, years later, he’s sharing his experience and the lessons he’s gathered along the way—through powerful conversations and an upcoming book that I know will touch so many hearts.
Together, we get into themes of opportunity, identity, physical and mental health, and what it really means to balance suffering and abundance. We talk about the importance of gratitude, the quiet strength that comes from reflection, and how finding peace often starts with simply accepting where you are.
This one’s not just about where he’s been,it’s about what we all can learn from how he’s chosen to move forward.
