Speaker 1 (00:23):
Well, what's going on, everybody. Welcome to a new episode
of My Canic Case.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I'm Cana Dave.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
In today's episode, we're gonna I'm not in the studio,
so we're not gonna do a review, but we're gonna
talk about some of the recent events we went at,
a couple of the competitions, a couple of winners.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
We have a surprise we're gonna announce for.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Next week's episode that we recorded, which we're pretty stoked about.
And then we're getting closer to cropt Ober here in
the state of Michigan, because we're halfway through the month
and we're gonna talk about crop Ober and what that
might do to the market. So just a little pre
thought into the episode. But before where get started, groovey,
let's give a shout out to all the partners that
make this possible. At first, we're gonna kick it off
(01:04):
with plant therapy. Use code myke can of twenty at checkout.
If you know a friend, family member that's growing and
you don't and they got bugs and that party milldew
anything in their plants not thriving, tell them about the
spring Lost Coast plant therapy.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Mike twenty all lowercase.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Then I'm I jump over to exquisite extractions where you
have hash rosin and then they have hash infused pre rolls.
I think oble hash uh, that's exquisite extractions. Then we've
got cannon By Extras Award winning concentrates actually took home
a first place, Sneak Creek at Best and Grass which
Groovy's hat is brocking that we're going to talk about that.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Beautiful, beautiful.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Then we're gonna hit you with old school organics for
the restaurant and the new school strains are together one
hundred percent organic handwatered plants. And then if you want
to grow cannabis and you're looking for a soil versus
a medium, check out smoking Tomatoes aka dairy Do where
you'd grow in their living soil. And then also the
session event that's happening this sat, not this Saturday, next Saturday,
(02:07):
September twenty seventh in New Buffalo, So stay tuned. Our
socis we're gonna have a giveaway actually up here in
the next days with the sessions, and I believe that
is all of our partners.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yes, sir, yeah, smoke cool cool have you said? But
I love them?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:20):
No, I did double double shot outs.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
You know. But dah man, So it's has been a
busy couple of weeks. We've been going NonStop. We checked
a bunch of news articles. One that seems kind of
propaganda ish, so we're not going to talk about it.
The other ones just seem very you know, so you know,
we might talk about legalization, the state, might talgleization. Nothing
too crazy in the news, So probably get to that
next episode or the two weeks. Hopefully we'll get some
(02:47):
stacked up a bit.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Definitely two weeks because next week's episode is.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, so it's been crazy. The couple events. Best in
Grass was cool, man, What did you think of it all?
I mean, obviously I'm rocking the hand, so I dug it.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
I thought it was really cool.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
It was a lot cooler this year, which was nice
because it was in September not July, and you can.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
What oh not really, No.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
I was gonna say it actually literally was colder, like
it was so hot last year.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
So yeah, no, no, it was so that was enjoyable. Yeah,
it was great to see everyone dressed up.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
I kind of it's a cool concept because you don't
see that bad often within the industry, and I mean
everyone goes out and gets dressed up all the time, right,
I know I'm not always going out and get dressed
up all the time.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
So I thought it was cool.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
I mean it's technically dressed cannabis event. Because I think
when people think like cannabis event, I think people think like,
I'm gonna go to a venue. There's gonna be a
bunch of booth set ups. I'm gonna learn about some
bought i might get some freebies from some stuff. I'll
get some free devs, you know, free flower pre rolls,
you know whatever. Because I think the normal cannabis event
(03:57):
is just like kind of like about like a marketing stuff,
just like free stuff, check it out, meet the people
talk about them. And I think that was like the
first style of event, right, besides just smoking or competitions,
you know, and then competitions, and now we got these
festivals and now we have all these other different events.
Like the session, you know, it's it's it's around education.
Best in Grass was more I think, yes, it was
(04:19):
a competition, but the well that part was different was
that it was supposed to be more like a gala.
Is the vibe I got and I think was what
he's going on. Definitely, so I think.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
I mean they have a red carpet where you take
photos and stuff like you did last year.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
I mean, it's definitely in Royal Oague is crazy, you
know what I mean? Like, I don't if there's never
like besides Best in Grass, there's never anything right. I look,
that's tooth cannabis.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Really yeah, not much. I thought they were supposed to
open up a disco there.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
But you know, cool, I'm not knocking the city by
any means. I'm saying it's not as common. You don't
hear Royal music theater, you know what I mean, Like
for cannabis community. If you're from the Michigan community, you
know these spots, you know the Brooklyn you know, I
mean you know the tangent like now the crowfu has
been popped and with it, which I mean, we'll get
into that event because that that was you know, shout
outs Olympics too, because that was another event. That one
was phenomenal and I'll get to that in a second.
(05:08):
But I enjoyed Best in Grass because it was almost
you didn't even recognize people because everyone's so grown, like
so dressed up and it was just like, I don't know,
a different vibe, you know, you know when their competitions
and you have brands and their lames are on the branding.
You know. We actually had Mark and Joey to talk
about it, kind of discussing the difference between competitions with
(05:32):
with with what was it called with animinity, you know,
where it's just like numbers and stuff versus a competition
with the branding. And I think that was a really
interesting conversations that we had with Mark and Joey, the
people who led that event, and why they do it
this way so everyone gains from their competition. You know.
We've definitely heard people in the comments with their own
thoughts on the other end of things of like how
(05:52):
do you know who really wins then? And you know,
and the thing is there is no perfect competition, you know.
But I think what's what's dressing about Best in Grass
and why I enjoyed it is inclusivity, and I anything
with inclusivity, I like, you know, now, I do think
personally there was somewhere I'm like, yeah, that makes sense,
and then there was some where I'm like what, so
I think, you know, every competition has its things you know,
(06:14):
so it was it was fun, you know, and I
you know, it's open to the public too, you know,
whether you people do or don't like that, I think
that's kind of nice because it gives, you know, everyone
a chance to see what it's like to do these
cannabis competitions. You know, I think I like inclusivity. So
that's why I just want to point that out. You know,
even the first year with the High Times Bags, I
was all about it until it got complicated and I
(06:35):
started seeing people who, in my pain, shouldn't have won,
win and then I'm like, well, what the hell? You know,
then you get you Then you have people just buying
out bags. But that's not to the cop. That's just
to those people being cheaters.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
So yeah, no, no, no, that's true.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Or maybe not cheating that they might they might call
it in their air it's a gray air. They might be, well,
that's just fair, that's just us investing in ourselves their marketing.
But it's like, nah, man, that's cheating. You should have
them people voting on your ship and if it wins,
it wins best of best.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Well that's the cool thing about that.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
The best in grass is they go through each each
review after and they've met the process, like they said
on that livestream and they joined us market, they'll go
through them. If staff stuff doesn't make sense or it's
all like sixes and there's no effort there, they might
throw that out because there's like.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
He's not trying a little too fast, like if they
were over five minutes. Even though some one of my
buddies did tell me I won't put his name out there,
but he was like when we were at the cop
He's like, Damn, I hope that wasn't me. He's because
I did it all prior, kind of the way y'all
do it, and then I just entered it. So he's
like I entered it super fast. He's like, I hope
that they they weren't like took my way.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
And it's a good thing to bring it.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
It's a good point to bring up because I mean
they're I mean, we kind of did a similar route
though too im and we did some within the platform,
but then sometimes we did reviews out risky reviews which
you all saw, and then we just we did them
out there.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I mean, I'll be honest, I've been if you listened
to the past podcast I've been all about the blind
testing ones, the blind testing ones, you know, you know,
because that's just like the old school competitions, the street comps,
the care giver comps, like just just in general. And
I think, now what's fascinating to me with Metric too,
is it's also there also is that that that side
of its marketing too, you know what I mean, It's
not just about the competition. There are brands that they're like,
(08:12):
I probably may not win, but that five thousand dollars
is worth it to get my brand out there with
people who are out there, you know. So it's like
sometimes that event is made for different consumers, you know
where you know, if fast forward to the Olympics a
couple of days ago or like you know, more recent,
that was, you know, just invite only best of the best,
nothing more blind testing. That is the only thing that
(08:34):
matters is the best of the best. There was no like,
you get no marketing out of this except for like
the competition. You get to meet people. But it's just different,
you know what I mean. I enjoy every comp every
event mainly because I just love going to events. But
Canons events are just unique, you know, No, they really
are I mean, well, every event, excuse me, I've been.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Going into the Olympics, I mean Best in Grass. For
my final thoughts, is I look forward to is she
gonna get next year? Because this will be that'll be
their third year. We got a couple of ideas we
might do with them because their giveaway went out so
good with all y'all.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
That tuned in, So we appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Always pay attention to our stories and our socials because
you never know what we're doing giveaways, especially with the
holidays of company might be doing.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Some spontaneous giveaways, so just stay tuned.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
But it was sweet to have them on in the
live talk about it another successful event.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Appreciate y'all.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Congrats on getting in Nevada because they just opened up
in Nevada, I believe, which was Joey's home state. So
we'll see how that continues moving forward. They're in multiple
states and it was cool to connect with them. So
but yeah, jump into this Olympics. Man, that's a I
like that because yeah, like you said, it's the best
of the best, and it's only two categories compared to
where Best and Grass I think it's fourteen categories. This
(09:45):
is just best Rosen, best Flower compared to they have
faves and.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Every kind's different too. I mean, O get the hash
bass that you do. It's like top two flavors, that's it.
The Best in Grass actually got granular with everything. You know.
The Olympics I don't know. I can't speak on because
I've never Oh wait, we did the flower last year,
which I can't. I can't remember though, But my whole
point is it's just like they're very different in their
own aspects, but people gain different things for different reasons
(10:10):
depending on where you are in your branding, you know
what I mean, They're very different. Like Zaza comes from
California too, so it's not a Michigan staded event either,
you know what I mean. So it's it's kind of
cool to see Michigan become this hub of like everyone
wants to throw their bigger, their big comps here, you know,
I mean Best in Grass launched here, but since then
you said, he's taken it everywhere, Mark and Joey and
(10:31):
then what's really cool about Olympics is like I think
it was kind of like it's kind of had that
like cool swag too, you know what I mean, Like
you kind of catch like with the videos on California,
Like I felt like it was like the best of
the best, right, So when it came here to Michigan,
I was like, well cool, whoever gets involved in here
has probably like been vetted and you know, shout out
at the tie the whole team. Appreciate exotic matter, actually
(10:53):
just finish it. So I can't dab any but appreciate
that whole team out there because that was a super
cool event. And I love Panie, you know, I have
a lot of memories and Pontiac a lot of memories
on that block, and in fact, it was just super
fun to be there. I can't tell you how much
fun I had. Adds Olympics, you know, don't be wrong.
Love best and grass, love the Galla field. It's different vibe.
(11:13):
It's like hi, everyone's having a sip of a drink
and smoking a little bit. It's very classy and you
know you're able to network in business. But I love
the Olympics where it's like, what's the best of the bessels?
Those get worried. But it was a fun you know
what I mean. I had a lot of fun and
they took over the street in Pontiac two, which for
the crow Foot, I absolutely love that we should do
that more.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
I agree.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I think it was pretty cool how they had had
the entire and then you also had like up the
street they had like some type of not block party,
but they had that blocked off too northern from where
we were where the food was right about it because
we drove past it and we were going to park
down that street and then there.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Was parking, yeah fest or something for something else. Plus
electricity was open, So for me, I was like, hell, yeah,
Pontiac's alive. Hell yeah. I mean I was exhausted, but
that it was jammy back to life because I was.
I was literally hurting that day, liked, I came back
from a long ride and I was just exhausted with.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yeah, and those probe around Arabs.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
So if you don't understand, like I don't know where
Arabis is in relation to the crow Foot, it's on
the opposite corner. So if you're like a rectangle, if
it's this one, it's the opposite one. So you made
a complete l or not more than L was basically
a U around this building. More like, honestly, they were
probably only a couple hundred people from just doing a
full like wrap around, which is insane to me. It's
one of the busiest I've ever seen Pontiac and I
(12:35):
used to like working back in the day when Paniac
was popping, so I loved it.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
And the cool thing too that the Za does well
that they do here. I don't know if they do Kelly.
They they do a collab with Woodward Collective Movement, one
of the clothing brands. I'm blanking on the exact name,
but that's what they did the move That's what they
did the clothing with. And the first seven hundred people
got to pick either a sweatshirt, had a T shirt,
(13:03):
a bag, or a gym bag.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Are you Mine's? Mine's all the way downstairs. I left mine,
you know. And I'm so happy because last year Dave
got blessed with the hoodie and I was so jelly
all year. I'd see him weird. I'd be like, I
must steal that bug, I must steal it.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
He did say that multiple times.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
All time, and then I finally got mine this year.
I was like, hey, yeah, I had like two people
come up to me and be like, can they buy
my hoodie? Directly off my back, and then someone else
just asked where I could buy it, and I was like,
I don't know. I don't sell these just kidding. I
was just like, no, man, I don't I don't know.
One guy was like, you would you sell that? I
was like, not even kind of interested in that, but
thank you.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
I was like, well, no, you give me.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Like if the guy would have came out to me
with five recks or something, I'd went up to tie
and be like, yo, buy me anyone. I will throw
you five hundred bucks right now, ten percent right now,
and then then I'll still pay for the hoodie.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
I think that's a unique perspective because you don't see
a lot of to do that, and we've been to
plenty of events and not all of them are handing
out like really good swig, really good swag, So I
thought that's always sweet.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
And then also it's like free food.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
They always have free food, similar to how Harry has
food at his or how Matt.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
I believe Matt has got snacks and stuff at his
as well. Too.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
That's coming around, so like when you have the when
you got all these different things jive and it just
makes the event click in all the ways, because what
happens when you smoke a lot of weed you get hungry,
and you get thirsty.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, right for sure, And how do you keep people there?
Give them water?
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Well? And to me, like, I know this sounds silly,
but as you do events and they do events, really
having space to move is so key because once it
gets too filled, you start losing people because it's too overcrowded,
all right, it starts getting too like too much, right.
I think what was really cool about using the outside
of the crow foot is it created this in and
out feeling where you could go in and out if
you need to stretch and bring the second and like
I honestly felt like they might have hit like a
(14:56):
thousand people because it was NonStop busy the entire time everywhere.
But what was cool is you could still move sometimes
like if you I mean for me coming from like
the rave scene and stuff, like sometimes you get in
these like venues and you're just like, I can't tell
any shows I've been at, like El Club, and you're
just like you because it's got that one side of
the wall where you can only see and you're just
(15:17):
like shit.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
But and honestly that it does.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Such a great venue. I I love the crow Foot.
It's one of my favorite venues. Was I actually won
a DJ set there. It was my first DJ set ever,
like many moons ago, like a decade ago. So I
have a special place for Crowfoot. Yeah, yeah, no, for sure.
I remember that you were there.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
About squad came out. That's pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
It was always be a special place for me, so
I enjoyed it. And then to be able to like
smoke weed and walk around and like the way they
did the booze where it's like mocktails and drink water
inside Red Bulls and then if you want it like alcohol,
it was free but outside but you just couldn't bring
the beer in. It's like a beer garden. I love
the beer garden. It. I love this idea.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Shout out to the ice cream is get some good
ice cream?
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Oh yeah, ice cream?
Speaker 3 (16:07):
It was it was all about that ice cream. He's
like he said it like twelve times, like, hey man, guys,
uh I want to get some ice cream.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
I was like, we kept we kept waiting.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
The line was never that line was never ending. So
it was just like we just kept talking. We were
outside and I was like, we can actually move this line.
Our little group to ice cream like ice cream and
you're smoking wheed a lot, probably don't, but I love
ice cream. So yeah, it was good. The probs weren't.
(16:35):
The probs were good, good flower everywhere. I appreciate everyone
that stopped us talk to us. I love chatting up
with everybody.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
And uh, you know one thing I didn't before we
get into the Olympics winners because I was just about
the jump into the Olympics winners. Just shout out some
of the my U passing grass winners. The problem is
there's not the Instagram doesn't list it yet. But I
do want to shout out Canoby and Alien Tech for
winning on their collect on the kandigarh on the infuseved
that's our partner, that's our homie, Scottie. Shout out to
(17:06):
the dude Steve too, because we've had them in the studio.
Really cool. They cross rodic product was great. Do not
understand how they didn't place moon Rocks. Just my own opinion,
just gonna throw it out there. So, whoever voted in
the Infused prow I don't know what you were thinking,
but our infused infused the flower. But but cool to
see some homie and then getting shout out to my
loud Flower because that that code is cushed that they
(17:28):
took two places with and I think it was a
first and a second that was one of their own genetics.
So shout out to Motives, the gens and my loud Flower.
My loud Flower. There the homies, they were one of
our first.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Shout out to Mojo they took home for four.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Out of for Wojo is non stop right now insane.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
And then also shout out to Flows.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
I think they got the second or third place I
saw for one of their strings.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Yeah, the second.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Yeah, So shout out to all the homies hitting getting
some dubs, you know, love seeing that.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
But the reason why I brought that, we're getting into
the zon winners man. I mean, it was really cool
to be a part of the show. So we got
to give in some awards that was super fun. So
I felt super like I was like, oh my god,
oh my god, to read it. We get to see
who won. It was a lot of fun. Shout out
the Summer Sky who was with us. That's our third
(18:19):
partner who's been busy as hell, but she's still she's
still around. She's still recording episodes when she can.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Facts.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Yeah. No, we did as a team, and it was
kind of funny because we're all like, all right, so
how are we going to do this? And everyone's basically
job was the one that no one else wanted to
do and it worked out perfectly. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
I just got to sit there and hold the trophy.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
I just hold trophy.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
I was big. I was big by the time we
found out. I found out three five minutes before we win.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
It was hilarious. Ran in the Grevy was talking to
Tie earlier in the week and then I think Groovy's like,
you still need us?
Speaker 3 (18:53):
I was like, yeah, we went.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
I had no idea what we were doing.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I thought it was one award, to be honest, I
thought we were doing one and then getting off this stage,
That's what I thought the whole time, which was pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Give words.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
I felt like, I don't know, I feel like shout
to swim with the pack, shouts meet the shout out
to the homie. That was fun to kind of go
and jive with him a little bit on stage because
he's always in these events and I just he's he's
the homie. So that was really fun to be honorable.
They were giving out some cool product. Oh, there was
some exclusive stuff. We talked about it briefly. Oh, sorry
(19:28):
to the winners. You could talk about the winners. We
could talk about the winners. Yeah, yeah, we.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Just went into it. That's what I thought you were
going into.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Yeah, I just it was just my eighty D kicking over. No,
I'm stupid. It's all good Man's stupid. That's what we were
talking about. The Olympics winners. Okay, So for the Olympics winners,
do you want to read them off?
Speaker 2 (19:50):
You can read them off if you got it. If
you got it, go, I.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Hate being on this thing, you know. All right? So
the winners for the overall flower category, so the we'll
start with third place, Great Lakes Cush with Rainbow Belts
three v. Two. Second place was Growing Pains with honey banana,
which we tried some Growing Pains don'nuts are really good,
(20:14):
me and Dave gun and then high Tech one first
place with the lance La and Tz because it does
say it sounds like we're saying lance like Lance Armstrong,
but we're saying lance La and Tz. The best winners
of flower category, best tasting always ad. Oh wow. The
(20:34):
overall category and best tasting are exactly the same. I
didn't even notice that until just now. Third place gray
les coash Rainbow bels three, second place, Growing Pains honey banana,
first place Lance, So that stay freaky consistent.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Huh that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
The winner's best category best turps. You can read the roseet,
which is ironic because you're candidate, but you read the rosen.
Third place is Favored, which we I said wrong. I
think I say it farved or something before. It's favored
with lemon runs. Second place rhigh tech with lands, and
then first place was Growing Pains with the honey banana,
so it moved around a little bit. So the winners
(21:15):
the flower category are best looking. Uh so, I'm guessing
this might have been what's called fan favorite, not fan favorite,
but the judges so best looking was in Canna with
candy blues. Gaseous was premiere five to one seven and
five one seven headband. Heaviest hitting was freshly Fine with
gorilla glue number four, which damn I'd love to try
(21:37):
that they missed glue number four, Best candy tip, top
crop with cosmic runs, and most unique was Growing Pains
with honey banana. That was all the flowers.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
You got the rest varriety nice Friet.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Yeah. So the winners for the rozin category best overall
third place Peninsula Gardens with plan Z which is Canic
in Alpha Buds with Gummy Bear, and then first place
was Archive Banana peals.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
That's the only one I haven't tried out of those,
and I swear by that plan Zy, That Planzy was
gas the z typs on it, and that white Gummy
was so unique. Me and Dave got to try that once.
Shout out to the two organ Mechanic and Alpha buds.
That ship was very unique and banana pels never tried it.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
So the winners of the rosin cagory for best tasting.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Third place was high Tech with Lance, second place again
was Organic Mechanic and Alpha Buds with the White Gummy Bear,
and then Archive was first with the banana peels.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
This year, the.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Best terps rozin third place is Provo with strawberry Ziddle's.
Second place is Archived with banana peels, and then first
place was the White Gummy Bear Organic Mechanic and Alpha Buds.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Yeah, I mean I would give that you because it's
so unique on those terms. Man, that makes sense, and.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Then best looking was Archive with banana peels.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
Which is sea I think is like the judges category.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
I think, right, Yeah, the gasseest was am I Loud
Flower with codas Cush, The heaviest hitting was my Loud
Flower with Coda's Cush, Best candy was Peninsula Garden with
plan Z, and the most unique was Organic Mechanic Alpha.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Buzz with the Lake gup.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
I honestly agree with a lot of the ZA, you know,
I don't think I think some of the most of
the best in grass. I agreed with not all of it.
There's definitely some category of those confused Olympics. I pretty much
agree with all of it. There's a couple that I
haven't tried, like the icar of banana peels and then
the strawberry ziddles, But outside that, I've tried everything else,
(23:37):
So I'm like, all right, pretty much. I mean, not
for a Rosin, I can't say.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Yeah, next year would be cool to get one of
the Rosin bags.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Yeah, yeah, we definitely will have to start listening hit
us up early so we can reserve it because last year's.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Like, hey, we already we already put it in. We
already just rsvped it. No kidding, d.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
You're heard here now first, No, I'm just kidding not
so it's just a good deal too. So that's the
one thing about either of these competitions then, and then
this is how I'm going to compare them to be
very similar. Is that no matter what, you're getting a
good deal and an easy way to try a lot
of what's on the market. You know what I mean? Now,
I mean the categories are definitely spread out more and
you can you know, if you like edibles or topicals
(24:20):
or you know, different things, you get more categories with
Best in Grass. But it's Olympics. It's just two different consumers, right,
You're talking about that ten percent who only care about
the best of the best, and then or maybe twenty
percent and then the other eighty percent who just want
to get high. They want Best in Grass because you're
getting a good deal and you get to try the
category that you like. You know what I mean. You're like,
if I like carts, I got to can try all
(24:41):
the carts out there, easyps. Now they are only fifteen
bucks a cart or whatever it breaks down to. Right,
So I think, no matter what, that's the best thing
about these comps, dude, is the consumer gets a good deal.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah, I mean the consumers going to find out those
brands are going to search them out now as well.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
So it's also brand both ways.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
And I think it's beneficial really for both of them
because either way, like even if you don't get first
place and you got third place, your name is still
out there. The thing that's interesting is like, you know,
no matter what your name, you.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Just said, third place does mad just because again Dave
gets second place and he's like pitiful, Just remember what
you just said. You just said it. I'm gonna quote
you on I'm gonna quote Dave to.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Day I cut it. Cut it. You need to cut.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
It at that point. Keep that in keep that we
don't gonna go. I'm not I'm not gonna get it.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Anyways, they don't release.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
But before before we got out of those that we
started talking about the winners and Isaiah, I really wanted
to shout out the homimdge from respecting my region. Also
where it's with Active, they are a cool vape carpet
company tech company that did a collab of Papaya with
Exotic Manner. Exclusive only at the event not coming out
(26:04):
till late twenty twenty five. But I love this cart. Man.
I haven't got to the end yet, so I can't
really speak on the full cart, but so far it's
been ripping easy. You don't got to like like sometimes
my thing about the O two, Like I love O
two overall, they're like my favorite. I mean, the wojo
ones are pretty solid. I forget who makes those ones.
They're like smaller, like little cylinders, but I swear you
(26:25):
get a little burnt at the end. The O two,
I feel like you get all the way through. This
one has been pretty solid so far, it hasn't tasted
hitty grant. I haven't got to the end yet, but
I just I really want to say I enjoy this tech,
the sleekiness. It's much easier to pull with O two.
You have to pick long, dragged pulls. That's why I
can just take a nice pull. So I don't know
whatever they did, but it rips nice. And who were
(26:46):
we talking to about the viscosity? I was talking about
it was really made for different levels of like from
thick to thoughts.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Next week's interview, so we're.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
Talking about okay, yeah, okay, yeah, Well which we will
give a hint at the end of this episode. If
you stick around with us, you'll be able to find out. Dave.
I'm gonna let Dave say it, because Dave has been
like ready to say it the whole time. He's like,
all right, our homie Lance gave us a head. He
wears Lance front. Doug. Yeah, shout out to Cellar and
(27:24):
we get them both in the studio. So Summer set
that up and yes, Hoe Lance. That was a lot
of fun. Man. You know, we see him around the spots,
always been trying to like touch base with him, and
you know, it just all happened. So sweet episode, get
a couple of hours, but we get into gritty of also,
like who Lance is, like the motivation behind the pod,
(27:44):
not just like the same old questions that I want
to ask, you know, like what's your favorite interview? Like
we actually we got to know Lance, like you know,
the personal Lance. You know, we learned throughout that so
we learned about him. We learned first day of the
smoke info the whole time, and we got some inside
perspective and somebody some stories from Lance. So it was
super fun.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
So one of them is actually the first time ever
told which I think, I think is really cool.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Honestly, it got real too. It got real, it did.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
It did he We had a time limit and we
even went over the time limit.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
It was just a vibe.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
I think you all are really going to enjoy this
episode from the beginning to the end. It's very engaging.
It's a different type of episode than we've done. Like
Groovy said, it's not all the basic it's not all
the similar questions we've done.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
It's all different.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
People ask him, like, I don't know how many I've
never watched an interview of people. I mean, I just
I tried to ask some weird questions more like personal too,
not just We asked a lot of questions, let's be real,
and I love Lansko. He was able to give us
full responses, really in depth to it. It was a
fun man.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Yeah, Super helped on releasing that, but he's the one
that was telling us about the different discosities and for
the pen, that that pen can all different types. It
can do from your extreme butter all the way down
to your ross and sauce right all within that cart.
And that's what he was explaining because we brought it
out in the episode and it's I'm blanking out his name.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
What was it, Tony from Flue River Turps. Is that
name Arian?
Speaker 3 (29:16):
No?
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Yes, Yeah, he's the one that helped Active come up
with this and make sure it all works. And we
actually met Matt Tony I think it was last year,
And it was last year at mjbis kind after party
and Mitch had us out there for so it was great.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
I'm glad that we ran into Mitch. I always love
running into him.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
He actually hit me up before and he was saying,
I'm what crazy it is over here?
Speaker 2 (29:36):
How much blud we have? He checked out a couple
of farms.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
He seemed pretty Yeah, he seemed pretty busy, so it
was great to catch up with him. Yeah, check them out,
respect their region, and then get Active a follow They
got some good cart tech.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
Yeah. I mean, all in all, both great events. I mean,
I definitely think they hit different parts of consumers in
the market and a little bit overlap there. And that's
why I really liked that they were both in and week.
I mean, it was it was a lot of fun,
you know, since we were just since we're on the
topic of events and we're just coming out of like
two really badass events. Another different style event is the
Business to Business event, right, which is more like Flower Expo,
(30:13):
which we had what two three weeks ago now in Michigan.
Now we have another one coming up in Chicago. So
I'm in any of our Illinois Indiana, West, Michigan, East,
Michigan FAM Illinois FAM go there. And that's next week,
the twenty third and twenty fourth. I forget that can
where it's at right now? That is right? It was
(30:34):
in Chicago, Yeah, in Illinois. It was in Chicago. I
just cannot remember the veny name. Dad cow Girl told us,
but I cannot remember. I'm trying to remember, but I
got nothing. But anyways, like I want to say, like
another style event that like, you know, these events and
competitions are fun. Gallat's fun to dress up those Olympics.
It's fun to come out like with your you know,
(30:55):
your swag, you know, ready to drip out, like can't
have dripped out? Is I like to saying? You know,
everyone's got like their leather backpacks and ship. You know
what I mean. It's like cannabis style. You know everyone's
got that street wear ship. I love it. Right, But
this one is more like business business. This is about
closing deals. This is like m you know, minimum quantity
orders and and how many stores do you have? And
(31:17):
how much is can I buy by the you know,
by how many how much is a pound? That style event?
And I just want to shout, dab call girl, like
her recruiting style is literally harder than anyone else. I see.
She's literally at every store shell literally be in Michigan
at a disppo, go to an event, drive to Illinois,
hit a couple of dispos, hit an event, and then
drive home hang out with him. It's like, oh, you're crazy,
(31:42):
all right, child, dab cow. She's she's a hustler man.
She worked hard. Yeah, and I enjoyed Flower Expo. Different vibes,
you know, is it different. Yeah, we're setting up interviews,
you know, we're doing little recording.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
That's the thing about events. Each one caters to different dances,
different people. You know, it's different. It's you got somewhere
for your high suite level people. Some are for your
middle to education, some are just for the culture, some
are awards, some are just just to get people out
like everything.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Right, Like I would say, it's Olympics is definitely a
culture event, right, well, I think, you know, Best in
Grass is a community event, but I would say it's
a metric event, right, It's like almost like a metric community,
you know. And you're you hit nail on the head
because every event is a little different. Right when you
get like the old you know, big cloud farms, now
you're getting just culture, like straight up culture. No, you
know what I mean, like if anything pre culture community
(32:38):
like carry over culture. So it's just like there is
such different levels to events. And then when you go
to business to business ones, that's like just business ones.
I mean even then, like even for something like flowers,
you don't you're not even getting ripped. Sure people are
taking smoke breaks, but it's more like MJ Biscon in
the sense where you're like able to smoke outside or whatever,
do your thing, but like it's all some more focused
(33:00):
on business, you know. And then the session, the session
is all about education. So it's like they're yes, cannabis
is like the centerpiece, but you're right, they're all absolutely
different targeted for totally different audiences because the community is
made up by such different individuals. You got people from
every walk of life smoking bud, and then you got
(33:21):
all different backgrounds making up the cannabis community. It's not
just growers. You know, everyone thinks it's just heady people.
It's like, not just heady people anymore, not at all.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
So no, no, no it's not.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
It's uh, there's there's an event for everybody nowadays.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
What is your favorite study? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
I mean to be honest, I like I like them
all for all different reasonings, but most of them I
like to chill.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
And I like divides politics political. That's not a sucker
for culture.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
I'm actually I'm actually training going to be like in.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
A day, I'll never forget the first time going to
like hash bash or hash bash Cup and you're like, whoa,
you know, I love community culture events man oh. And also,
be honest, the first thing about a little bit event
that I went.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
To high times ones, high times, high times back in
the day was culture and that was the best.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
If you talk, that was before we went to hash
bash Cup.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
That a pre metric high times talking twenty.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Seventeen, twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, when we.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Were going I think those were the years.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Twenty eight because right after that it got legal in
twenty eighteen, but those are the years or was that
Flint and then even the one in Detroit was still
a riot, but like those were those are music?
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Yeah, it was. This is more of like a just
you can smoke weed publicly and of music that we
it felt so much. I would say High Times was
definitely a community culture event in the beginning, you know,
with the competition, and then as it transferred over to
being bigger and bigger and bigger, I think it got
a little bit more into that, like just like marketing.
But I think High Times it's like what year we
(35:03):
talk about, you know what I mean. I will never
not High Times because it just depends on what year
and what owner or whatever. Like you know, it's just
like you know, because definitely High Times as culture, it's
just if you talk about it now, I don't know
if I would say that, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
So yeah, I know, but I'm like the beginning, if
I think about it.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Oh no, I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
This is I agree because that was coming out of
the raid, so I was like, oh, you can do this.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Yeah that makes sense. Honestly, the beginning of dabs out
here in Michigan too, so so everyone's giving out debt.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Like them all.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
I think they all have good purposes because sometimes I
want to check.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Out affair the third eye Craft Affair was fun too.
It's just like a small farmer's market for like caregivers.
It was super cool.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Hashream or hashream or everyone I want.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
To sort of. But the venue was super hard to explain.
It was like this like community house. You know that
mushroom house on Woodward. I forget what it's called. We
did a drop off once for holistic House. Yeah imagine that,
but like three stories like art all over the wall.
It was super cool, like for me as an artist,
like I just enjoyed the space. You know, a Dju
(36:14):
Gonja girl which I've seen around she crosses crushes it
h very talented she and she was crushing it upstairs.
You know, we're listening to bass music, you know, like
this is dope bass music and dabs. And I was
hanging out with some homies shout out to the haigh
Zog homies and Spliphany. They made my day a little
bit brighter because I was exhausted from writing all day.
But yeah, no, it was it's it was a good
(36:39):
time and I just I and that was like straight
culture community, like caregiver community event, right, very specific, So
I was on the opposite end. I just wanted to
bring that up. Like there are so many events in
this culture, and I think Dave says it best is
as long as you learn to appreciate them all, like
you can really have fun at all of them. You know,
I love them all because not all of them are
to give you free shit. But no matter what, you're
gonna learn something, you know what I mean. That's why.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
People And I think that's the best part is networking
meeting new people.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Well, the sessions is literally we don't see you.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
And plus for us, Yeah, sure you're true, and plus
and plus for us, like we don't we might not
see some of y'all. You might see us, we don't
see you like behind the screens when we run into
in person. That's always a great vibe as well too.
So I think that any event we can do that
is our opponents. But yeah, you're right, the sessions you
learn and you level up and you get prices and stuff.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
And that's September twenty seventh in New Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Yeah, I just love that it kind of meshes the
worlds of learning with like free shit, and it literally
correlates the more you learn, the more you get. I
think that's awesome because sometimes people will just come in
and get free merch and be like deuces. They'll come in,
weigh in the lines, get as much free shit hit
each booth and big deuces. Like sometimes it's just about
the free shit. So I like that it kind of
creates this like keep the community there, create the community,
create conversation. Then you also win shit on your way out,
(37:56):
because if you get the something they needs to give
out bags on the way in, people would just leave.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Yeah, No, that did happen quite often.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
You remember that where people would go to events for
the bags, the grab bag, and then they would leave
like immediately after, and people like wouldn't and gain anything
from the event marketing all those people. So I think
that like what they figured out was a cool little area, right.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
I think that's why you saw that stuff stop though, And.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
That was also early on when we started getting into it,
like stuper early, I know.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
But since we're talking about these cool events, I mean
we might as well talk a little bit like it's
they've come so far, they really have come so far,
and like you really do leave each event feeling like
getting like lose because it's not just a weed grab anymore,
and that each event is specified. You know, you're getting
like we with yogas, now.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Damn I should do that. I like my yoga. I
want to do that hot yoga again. You want to
you want to go?
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Well that's a random, random But my whole point was
that you're seeing canaps kind of looped do with everything,
you know what I mean, that's that was my point.
I kind of Dave's like, hell yeah, yoga, yoga, yoga
chat my yoga casts. Kidding Jesus, very clever, dude, what
(39:13):
this whole time? His actual name is Canna and the
nickname is Dave. Whoa stupid no. But I mean just
because we've been in this community for so long, man,
I mean it used to the the they really had
to figure out events.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
You know.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
They figure out the B two C the B to
B two. See this, They figured out all the different styles,
and honestly, after talking to like Fran and people from
other places, they do parties too, you know, but we
do it good here too. That everyone seems like, man,
yeah these are sweet. You get free ship. Like I
remember when I went to fuck, what state was it?
(39:50):
I forget what state or was it they were from.
I think it was a big dub. But I was
talking to someone, what do you mean you do a
free ship? I'm like, they give out free ship. They're
like why, I'm like marketing. They're like, why don't they
tell it? I'm like, well, it's very competitive out here.
So at this point, now it's like becoming like, you know,
is your stuff good enough? Not just is it available?
(40:12):
Because remember when it was just like we were in
the game, so there was enough to go around. Now
that that that that day has been way.
Speaker 1 (40:18):
Gone, so you gotta stand out now.
Speaker 3 (40:24):
Yeah, now you gotta win competitions. Like yeah, yeah, that's
the trophies, right, Hey, you can hold the trophies. He's like, yeah,
I know how to do that.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Oh I did not say no.
Speaker 3 (40:42):
He was like, so you guys are going to talk.
That's what I don't realize what happened.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Yeah, there's a lot of people. I was like, boa, Yeah,
people as pretty baked.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
So I was so shocked and how big that line
was about za and just how many people were there.
It was I mean, don't be aroun invest in grass
best of grass was a little bit more, you know,
like only the competitors galla feeling. It wasn't like overpacked,
you know what I mean, like where Zah. Definitely some
moments felt like packed, but like once everyone got in
and the flow started separating, people went outside, like it
(41:17):
got comfortable and really like I think they used every
inch of that crow foot space, every inch. Like I like,
I was turning out looking into the rooms that I've
never seen before, and I was like, the fuck is
this GT rolling? Get like a whole class that we
walked into and there's just like a bunch of people
rolling and I'm like, what looking for the bathroom? I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Yeah, it was. It was a good time. It was good.
They do they do it well.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
Yeah, shout out to the homies. Light sky on some
good rods in man. It was it was. There was
there was some great products, got to try some stuff.
I think I smoked. I can't tell you. I'my. Donuts
we smoked. There was free donuts. There was this donut
there was a grab at donut bar. There was another
donut bar. Apparently we missed one of them or two,
you know, but it's just like you don't have time
to see I didn't even know that you physically can't
(42:06):
see them from across the venue, you know, I mean
unless you pass a booth, you don't see the booth
because it's so busy.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
True, you know, you got a funny, funny statement to hear.
Stay here. We might not like, but we had such
a good time and we were so exhausted on Sunday
that by dude and him came.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
He came by. We got wings and we watched some
Lions football together. On Sunday. We watched the whole first
half together.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Watch did we really? I? I mean I knew it
was on because Davi would react and he was like
football or whatever, But like I, I didn't like. I
didn't know what quarter we watched. Hell yeah, left.
Speaker 1 (42:42):
Maybe it was like the first and maybe it was
almost halftime, right, dude, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
I wasn't watching the football. I was just talking to you.
But I made a joke that car during the commercials
and I was like, damn, my favorite part.
Speaker 1 (42:56):
I don't know, but he was enjoying it because we
were smoking donuts we got from Sah So like that
that was what's That's why I tied it in I
was like, we got pretty again.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
I was going to pick up my cat and Dave's
near my mom, so I was like, well, screw it,
I'll stop by Dave's and we smoked because I had
one doughnut, he had the other donut. Real, but we
fucking might as well smoke these together and try. I
didn't plan on chilling that long. So we got some wings.
And you know, you're super pumped because you know, like
I said, we actually that was the day that we
confirmed that Lance was coming on like whole crap. So
(43:26):
so hopefully nothing gets fucked up with footage or anything,
but hopefully everything works out knock on woo.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
So no, it's great, Yeah you did it.
Speaker 3 (43:36):
I tripled, tripled. I don't have that video, I have
that video. If I don't have that video, at least
I have the fucking audio, like I have something.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Plus I have video, so I'm excited that will be
coming out.
Speaker 3 (43:49):
Which I don't have my my carpet up here. I
wish I had my carpet, but shout out to shout
out to Lance on those carpets that that merged. That
shit was dope. Dave got a rolling tray. Well, we
got a rolling tray and then two Dad, Rugs and
Me and some are definitely more of the dabbers of
the group, and Dave's like the roller and Dave was like,
I want the rolling tray. We were like, yeah, that's cool, man,
(44:09):
we got you. So Me and Rugs super fun man.
Shout out man. I hope we could eventually get to
pop on them one day if we're end another event,
we can kind of hang out with them and see
what they're shit's about. Because he just talking to Lance
and him asking questions back, I can tell why they're
one of the best podcasts in cannabs because the way
he interviews, the way he responds, the way he speaks
(44:30):
is very clear, it's concise although it's and it's also
fun and entertaining. So I, you know, I strive to
be like Lance in that sense, and I appreciate that.
I appreciate him coming on and messing, you know, come
and messing with our community and giving us kind words
and shouting out Tyler and saying that that we were
one of the best Michigan cannabis podcasts, because it's like
that's I don't know, that's cool to hear from someone
(44:53):
that you're like, you know, I'm surprised you even would
come here.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Yeah, it's all love.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Yeah, it's all love, man, it's all love. That's without
all your help that listeners, I want to get blisters
a little quickly shout out, because you all have been
giving us follows, liking.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
Sharing, reposting, doing everything.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
We just hit over three thousand followers on i G
and we continue to grow and that's just my canicuss
ig and that's that kind.
Speaker 3 (45:21):
Of clos on YouTube too, So help us out.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Yeah, please, do you guys help us out.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
Take up one hundred pounds for YouTube and do it
for us.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Do that?
Speaker 2 (45:32):
No, you don't do that?
Speaker 1 (45:33):
Yeah, same, But it's all it's honestly not without your growth,
because without all you listening, all you like yourself commenting
people when you listen to us. So you guys are
making noise and people are responding so much appreciated much love.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
That is all.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
All right, yeah, and honestly that's pretty much that at
the end of the episode, I mean, events are really fun.
They've been taking over. We're still going to see something
throughout the fall, but I mean we've been a beaded
custom business to events. We went span Abyss, which we
have content coming still from that, just to spend a
crazy summer of NonStop events. So I think it's gonna
be a fall of just posting about the events and
all the experiences that we've had. And I just want
(46:11):
to shout out to all the partners that help make
that happen and helped made all this entertainment for y'all,
and as we continue to make it, because we have
more and more ideas to shout out to all the
other people that are going to help us along the way.
But lost Coast Plant Therapy twenty percent off my canon
cast m I cannon cast all one word, all lowercase
use it, exquisite extractions. They got hash and fused pre rolls,
(46:33):
and they also got rosin which we will be demoing
and having Trenton on the team soon. The session where
bud tenders level the f up, that is not what
they say. That is what I just said because it
was fun to say. They say level with the butt
tenders level up, but no for real eye And the
reason why I said it like this is because I
enjoyed it as Dave. I literally was doing it. I
was going boos, and I was learning. I was telling
(46:53):
about what I was learning, and then I want to
win the prize. It works. Shout out to Cannaby for
those first places and those other ones. He should have
won because he's well deserved his fire constraints. He wins
tons of cups. Check it out, check out the carts,
check out though the infused candiguars that he wins on
live rights and smoking tomatoes soil powered by Dairy Do.
(47:13):
They have a whole line of to help you along
the process. For all those growers out there, living soil,
the best way to go. Shout out to Dave put
his loving his living soil, and then old school gangs
shouts fam over there, shout out.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
