She's great.

purpose-driven entrepreneursrefine their message, love
obsess and create highconverting virtual events to
(01:23):
generate quality leads andmaximize revenue.
A believer, fierce go-getterand certified professional coach
, katie brings over 16 years ofpowerful coaching experience and
a dash of playfulness.
She is definitely a fun person.
She aims to move purpose-drivenentrepreneurs into powerful,
purposeful action to createextraordinary results.
And when she's not working sheis spending time with her family
(01:46):
.
She's got a hobby that she'shad for 20 years and 13.
She likes to go for walks andhikes and snuggling with her
pets, watching movies, readingbooks and really it is just a
focus for Katie of a family andfriends.
So thank you for being here.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
My friend, I'm just
so honored and so excited to
meet you and both of us.
Knowing Brooke, I mean friendshave similar friends.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
I know, wait, I this.
I feel dumb, but I didn't knowthat you were a believer too.
Okay, now I'm really excitedbecause we talk about Jesus all
the time, because that's all wetalk about on this podcast.
So, katie, outside of the bio,who are you?
Tell me about yourself.
I'm a bit of a goofball.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
I like to have fun.
I don't like to take life soseriously, but I'm also a
passionate person.
The compass that's alwaysguided me is I just believe
every single one of us has thatreally powerful purpose built
inside the hill I will die onit's helping people uncover what
that is for them and get themout there in the world, because
the world needs it more thanever.
I'm sure you would agree, especially now.
(02:47):
I'm very down to earth.
I just love people.
My faith is my world and I justwant to do my part while I'm
here.
I want it, to make it a happierplace.
I can't love that.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
I just want people to
love where they're at and what
they're doing.
That's really my mission is Iwant people to love what they're
doing and love the peoplethey're serving, and love every
aspect of their life in a Godhonoring way.
Okay, how do you know?
How did you and Brooke connectLike I'm so curious how you met
Brooke.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Okay, so I believe it
was a few years ago.
She reached out to me.
I think she was just DMingpeople.
She was in a different spacethen, but I ended up responding
to her and saying well, youmight be someone I'm looking for
.
My summit and I'd done thiswill be number seven that's
coming up.
I've done a few and I had herjoin me and we just clicked.
I was like I love thisredheaded beauty.
(03:38):
Her faith is important to herand we kept in touch.
We kept in touch and I had herat least two times.
I'm having her a third time, itmight even be the fourth, I
can't remember.
I love what she stands for.
Her sailboat journey inspiredthe crap out of me.
I'm like an octopus.
She can't get rid of me.
The rest is history.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I have such a funny
story about Brooke.
Brooke used to live where Ilive.
She sent me like a DM asking meto look at something.
When she was making a pivot.
I saw that she lived inStatesboro, georgia and I was
like, but that's such a smallarea, like how weird.
I lived in Statesboro Georgia.
We just moved like 10 minutesaway.
But I messaged her and I waslike wait, do you really live
(04:15):
here?
And she's gas, we just movedhere and so then we found out we
were like going to the samechurch.
It was like so weird how thatwhole like thing happened.
Then she, then she had to gopick up her boat.
I don't if anybody's followedbrooke's journey.
She like sailed around theworld or attempted to.
There was a it was a hot messexperience.
You should just go listen tobrooke's story.
But she came back into savannah.
She texted me she's I'm back insavannah and so I met her down
(04:36):
at the dock.
Okay, so brooke and all of herchildren are very tall.
I'm not even know, that didn'teven know that they're all giant
and I'm five foot two and theywere all just climbing up the
side of the boat to get into theboat and it's a big boat and so
I'm there and she's okay, justhop up.
(04:57):
And I was like I might needlike a boost here, like I am so
small.
And then when I got out of theboat, I was like this, I am so
small.
And then when I got out of theboat I was like this actually
feels like a life or death jumpthat I'm making.
I'm going to do it.
So it was the funniest thing.
She loved it.
They all laughed.
But I was like Brooke, you'relike a foot taller than I am, my
friend.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, I was like I
was like critically challenged.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
The reason we
connected is because you have
this really cool event going, socan you talk about the event
purpose of it, because I feellike it fits your brand mission
with what you just said.
I think.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
All in all, I say
I've been an entrepreneur since
2011.
That's true, and most of thattime, I didn't know what the
heck I was doing and I went andmade every mistake you could
possibly make and I dideverything wrong and I struggled
and my carpet is tainted.
So, really, what I've learnedin all of this is
entrepreneurship is no easy featand I feel like it can be very
(05:52):
lonely.
It can be hard to know whatstep to take next.
There's so many conflictingpieces of advice out there.
How do you even navigate Overtime, as I've been doing virtual
summits, which I'd like to comeup with a new word, by the way,
because I think of summits andI get sleepy when I say the word
.
It's boring to me, which is acontradiction to the fact that
I'm hosting a seventh one.
But really, what I'm trying tocreate is an odyssey.
So the event that's coming up iscalled the Entrepreneur's
(06:13):
Odyssey.
The tagline is your journey tohigher profits and greater
impact.
I'm all about, yes, we need tomake the money, but even bigger
than that is what kind ofdifference can we make in the
world?
Because if we all had thesegifts, they need to be given
away, they need to be utilized.
So this event is a littledifferent from previous ones.
I've done Normally, I've donethe five day.
25 speakers in five days it's alittle overwhelming, and so
(06:37):
what I've done is I'm adding abit of creativity to this one
and making it more like ajourney.
So it's going to be athree-week journey and we're
going to have two speakers a day, but it's intentionally set up
so that you will follow aprocess, you're not feeling
rushed.
You can absorb what informationyou find useful and what's
applicable nowadays that's goingto support you in growing your
mission in the world.
(06:58):
So I am featuring 28 speakers, myself included and Lemon here
in the room, and we're coveringall kinds of really great topics
, everything from what is thevision of what you want to
create, what are some strategies, how can you use social media,
like things that are going to bejust very applicable to how to
survive in the online spacetoday.
(07:18):
So the event runs from November4th to November 22nd if my brain
is working properly, I'mremembering the dates and we
will be opening up registrationon the 21st of October.
So it is coming fast and I amliterally just bringing in all
my people.
We're almost there and it'sjust going to be fun and awesome
and all the good things, because, yeah, it is my mission.
(07:40):
I don't want people flailingout there trying to figure it
out on their own.
Let's come together, let's havea journey.
It's time for it to see thelight of day, so that's my
mission.
Can?
Speaker 1 (07:49):
you give a little
sneak peek on some of the topics
that are being covered in thisevent and who would be a good
fit for it.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
The first is your
purpose.
What is your?
Why We've got to start there, why are you even doing this
thing?
And it's got to be deep, it'sgot to be a purpose, it's got to
be meaningful in order to carryyou through the storm.
The second one is mindset andwell-being.
So really that's understanding, like the way I talk to myself
and if I'm as a CEO of myself,as an employee, do we even like
(08:19):
each other?
Are we going to get the jobdone?
And the third one is strategyand implementation.
So what I've done over thesethree weeks is folded this all
together.
So the first week is all aboutlaying the foundation.
This is your purpose gettingyour mindset in order, creating
a website.
So topics include things likewhat's an example here the CEO
mindset, how to think like aleader at scale.
(08:41):
So I have my own coach talkingabout that one and he talks
about being the consciouscreator, the empowered
entrepreneur and optimalovercomer.
So CEO has a different play onwords there Imposter syndrome.
I have someone coming in totalk about that because we all
had that.
And then, when we get into somemarketing, I have people coming
in to talk about AI, just howto streamline better, how to be
(09:04):
authentic in your sales so itdoesn't feel salesy.
And then, even when we get intosome of the scaling, that's
where Brooke comes in and she'sgoing to talk about being an
integrity and having purpose inyour scaling process, in your
scaling journey.
I'm going to talk about themagic of conversion events,
because that's something I loveto talk about, and so far I have
(09:25):
Lemon to talk about the magicof conversion events, because
that's something I love to talkabout and so far I have Lemon
here talking about using publicspeaking to expand your business
influence.
We might tweak the title alittle bit, but you're really
using the stage to get thatvoice out there and create an
impact.
So it's very carefully laid outso that you can build on the
previous thing and come away atthe end with a solid action.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
I love that and I
will tell you I don't know that
I've ever seen somebody do asummit and I know you don't
really love that word anymore, but that's like.
I don't think I've ever seensomebody do one that's longer
than two days or something like,or like a Monday to Friday.
I would love your thoughts onthis longer process that you're
(10:01):
doing.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yes, yes, yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
And so, when I think
about it, I would love your
perspective on it, because thisis your bread and butter, this
is your jam.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Honestly, there is a
bit of experimentation.
It is a bit of going off thebeaten path to try something
different.
The purpose of a summit, froman entrepreneur's perspective,
is to generate leads, but Ithink sometimes we get caught up
in creating X number of leadsthat we're forgetting about the
quality, we're forgetting aboutthe human connection, we're
forgetting about the experience,we're forgetting about all the
opportunity there is for peopleto experience being seen when
(10:32):
you join a summit typicallynowadays.
I mean, there's a lot of greatsummits and I'm certainly not
wanting to discredit any of them, but what I would say is, in
the feedback that I put outthere, people are like it's
overwhelming.
You start out with day one andyou're excited, but then, by the
time you get to day three, youcan't keep up anymore and you're
just finding yourself shuttingdown and you forget you've been
joined.
So I'm trying to move away fromthat model and create more of an
(10:55):
experience where you know, yes, there's the possibility people
will still fall off.
We have to be real about that.
Life is busy and if it's donein the right way the idea being,
I want to create a sense ofcommunity with these people and
really get the speakers everyday that they're released, my
plan is to bring them into thecommunity and interview them
live.
We're going to find out aboutthe human behind the business
(11:16):
because we want to create ahuman experience.
So that's my thought.
It's an experiment.
I'll find out what works andwhat doesn't work, but the
intention is to get away fromthe system of just generating
leads and creating somethingwhere people are like oh, I
remember the Entrepreneur'sOdyssey.
That's when I learned this,that's when I connected with
(11:38):
this person and that's when Imade some friends.
So that's the vision.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
I really love that
because I think that
entrepreneurially as a whole, Ifeel like everybody's moving to
automation, everybody wants toautomate everything in their
business and like losing thishuman connection.
So I love that you're like no,I want the human experience and
I want the connection and I wantthe community, because I think
(12:02):
that people are desperate forreal human connection.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Yeah, and even if you
watch a training and you think
someone's amazing, I feel likethere's an opportunity to get to
know that person, the quirksand all, because if you don't,
you might be like, oh, I lovetheir system, but then you go to
a webinar or whatever for themand you find out maybe we don't
jive.
I think it's a greatopportunity to just bring all my
and I'm very picky about myspeakers, by the way I want
(12:28):
people who are about integrity, they're about giving back,
they're fun.
They just want to make adifference and, of course, I
want them to benefit as well.
We all do.
It's a win all around.
Like, maybe you don't chat withsomeone.
Maybe speaker number eight issomeone that you're like yeah, I
don't agree, you got a fewothers to choose from.
So that's the idea let's bringeverybody together and create an
(12:48):
experience.
It could be life changing.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Okay, I again.
I'm really obsessed with thisbecause there's so many times
I've attended a webinar I mean,oh, I like their system and I
like what they're doing, so I'llspend the money on it.
And then I get in and find outlike this person and I are not
aligned in any way, shape orform and that their viewpoint
and the things they teach areliterally the antithesis of what
I believe.
(13:11):
I got my start in theentrepreneur, so I got my start
in blogging, and my blog wentviral in 2011 because they did
barn restaurant reviews.
I grew up in a tourist town andso that's what I did and it was
fun and I was 21.
I loved it, it was great, and soI was like, when it was time
for me to revive a blog formyself and my business, I was
(13:34):
like I wonder what I've missedin the last couple of years.
I just want to.
I just want a refresher on likebest, like SEO practices and
like best headline writing andstructure, those kind of things.
And I bought a course fromsomebody who was making six
figures a year from her blog andI was like perfect.
And the first entire month ofher program was about like very
(13:54):
new agey things and it was likeyou need to track your moon
cycles and like all this likechakra alignment, and I was like
, what does that have to do withmy blog?
And then I had to have anawkward conversation where I had
to send an email because shehad like a refund policy and so
I was like, okay, can I get arefund?
(14:15):
But I'm like all of thatbecause I didn't have the human
side of the business.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Yes, I've done the
same thing and I think I've
become maybe.
I mean, we have to go in andlearn our lessons and do the
things to learn the things, butfor me, it's okay if I don't
align with someone.
In fact, I'm probably savingthem a headache and a lot of
money and a lot of time by justfiguring out that there isn't a
connection, that there isn'talignment, and it's okay.
(14:49):
You go, do you?
You do you boo, as if I'm goingto go over here and take care
of my and me.
It's funny because I used to dosummits and I would just bring
whatever speakers I could find.
Now it's very intuitive, it'svery much.
This is either alignment or itisn't, and I honor that now
because I learned the hard waythat if you bring the wrong
speaker to the entrance, you'rebringing in the wrong people as
well and they're not going toalign and that just creates a
negative energy for everybody.
(15:09):
Even if you would ever workwith one of the speakers, you
might start following them andbe inspired by certain things
they say or do.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
So how do you know
who the right speakers are?
Is it an intention of the eventor is it more like?
This is who I am and these arethe type of people I want to
work with, or is it a combo ofboth?
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I would say it's a
combo.
It's a lot of learning alongthe way and being really okay
with standing in integrity towho I am, what I stand for, what
I don't stand for.
When it comes to who I bring on, if I sense that they are very
eco-driven and they want thestage for their own benefit and
nothing else, I can sniff thatout pretty quickly at this point
(15:53):
and I think that's just havinghad those people and realizing.
And, of course, in hostingevents like this, it's a
collaborative thing and all thespeakers are asked to contribute
and do their part to promote, because if they don't, they're
getting a stage for freeessentially, and that's not fair
to all the people that areputting in the time and the
energy.
I just make it clear when you goto the application process like
(16:14):
the page, it's spelled out youhave to be a person that's
service-based, you need to be inintegrity.
Typically I say I'd like you tobe at least a believer.
I don't hold people back thatthey're not Christian per se,
but I do want them to understandthe concept of this isn't even
about us.
At the end of the day, it'sabout something so much bigger
than us and that they're here tomake a difference and their
message gets to get out thereand what they have.
(16:36):
Of course, they need to havesomething of value to offer if
they could talk about something.
So there's a lot of parts.
You need to know where youstand and what your values are
and make sure that who you bringinto your, what you create, is
in alignment.
Otherwise the event is notgoing to.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Yeah, and it's you
putting it on right.
So it speaks volumes of whoKatie is right.
Or if you're listening andyou're like I want to host an
event, great, that's going tosay this is who I am.
These are the type of people Ialign with.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
It is a statement
just by hosting it and the type
of people you bring in with youRight, which is something you
learn over time.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
So if somebody wanted
to host like a conversion event
, how would you define that?
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Yeah.
So a conversion event for me isyou are creating an event
online that it could be anytopic it could be.
Maybe you talk about menopause, maybe you talk about weight
loss, maybe you talk about God Idon't even know the possibility
of endless.
Whatever your thing is andwhatever your message is For me
I shared with you earlier it'sabout please, for the love of
(17:41):
all things, holy, step into yourpurpose.
The world needs you.
That's my underlying message.
So my events are always going tobe built on that value system,
belief system and what theintention is, bringing people
that, organically, are attractedto who you are, what you stand
for, and then you, ideally, asan entrepreneur, you're going to
(18:02):
have some sort of service, away to serve them, to make a
difference in their lives.
So the conversion event is away to introduce them to that
and then, if it is an alignment, you can make an offer.
But ultimately, the event is away for them to sample, it is a
way for them to get to know you,but you're also leading them
into what's possible for theirvision.
Conversion events is everythingfrom webinars to masterclasses
(18:24):
to challenges to in my case I dosummits, although I'm coming up
with a new word somewheresomehow, and it's really the
scale of it and thecollaborative part I love
because I've made so manyincredible connections over the
years itself, because then youget invited to join people's
thing and they tell people aboutyou and it just grows.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Yes, for sure, I love
this.
So if somebody was like, okay,I want to start hosting event,
where would you tell them tostart?
Or is that something you do forpeople?
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Yeah, where do they
go?
Where do they go?
The first thing I would say isI'm very easy to find, so you
can always find me on Facebook,Katie Seward.
Just spell my name with a Y.
If you don't, you won't find me.
I'll be doing in the summit.
I'll be providing a training onthis as well as a summit
blueprint that you can get.
So come to the event, reach outto me anytime.
I'm probably the most data-rich, friendly person you could meet
(19:15):
and I'd be happy to answer yourquestions and talk you.
But yeah, with the event comingup, I think that's probably the
best.
Next step, and to rejudge mepersonally, feel free to friend
me on Facebook.
I love meeting people my faves.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
I love that.
Okay, friend, where caneverybody go to connect with you
if they do want to host anevent?
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Yeah, we all have
webpages but, if I'm being
honest, mine is not up to dateright now, so I don't love to
send anyone there my email.
I can give you it's literallyinfo at katysuikcom.
That's K-A-T-Y-S-U-I-K.
You're going to get ahold of methat way.
I'm very active on Facebook.
Facebook is definitely mycomfort zone, my go-to, so you
can find me there.
(19:54):
Yeah, email and Facebook aredefinitely your best bets in
terms of reaching.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
I love it.
Okay, so I will link toeverything for Katie in here.
I promise, when are you airingthe podcast?
Let's look at the calendar.
I can actually drop it on the21st or I could do it next week
over 14.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
If we do it on the
21st, then we'll have the
registration link ready.
You'll have it in your handsand they can go sign up for the
summit right then.
Otherwise, if they reach out tome as well, I can certainly
make sure they get thatinformation straight away, as
soon as it's available.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
I love it.
Guys, come to the event.
I'm speaking at the event, which is going to be so fun.
I'm excited and talking about, kind of one of my favorite
things, and it's funny becausethe whole reason there was chaos
and that Katie has been sogracious is because we are
recording this on Tuesday.
I was supposed to fly to SanDiego on Thursday to speak at a
conference and because of thehurricane, my flight had to be
(20:53):
changed last minute and now I'mflying out.
Literally, I have to be therefor the 5A.
I'm speaking at this conferencetwice, and so I'll be fresh off
of a stage when I speak at yourevent too, and so I'm excited.
It'll be a great event, and Iknow some of the speakers, so
I'm just gonna tell you guys tocome, because they're all lovely
people.
And yeah, I'm so excited.
(21:14):
So, Katie, thank you for doingthis.
I'm excited about the event.
You are just such a lovelyperson.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Just thank you, it's
been a pleasure and definitely
thank you for yeah, with all theFlorida hurricane craziness, my
goodness, I hope everyone issafe and okay.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Yes, If you guys are
listening, I mean this will air
post Milton so we'll know whatkind of happened post Milton.
But if anybody needs anything,if you were impacted by Milton,
please reach out.
We're all here to support youbecause I get it.
I get it.
I get it.
We're feeling the impacts ofHurricane Helene still here.
I can only imagine Just thankyou, katie, my friend and I will
(21:51):
see you in our summit.
Yes, you will, thanks.
Thank you.

with you.

wisdom that resonated, would youbless someone else by sharing

(22:12):
purpose and calling.
