On today’s special bonus episode, I am thrilled to be speaking to Nadine Artemis, creator of Living Libations Skincare and the author of Renegade Beauty: Reveal and Revive Your Natural Radiance, which was named one of “The Top 10 Books on Skin Care” by The Strategist of New York Magazine. In this episode, Nadine advocates for a healthy and happy relationship with the sun and teaches people to be more aware of what chemicals are in their sunscreen, rather than the sun itself. As she explains in this episode, it really is all about finding the perfect balance.
For decades we have been shying away from the sun, given its ties to skin cancer and premature aging. But a growing body of scientific research suggests that completely shunning sunlight isn’t such a good idea. Not only does sun elevate mood, improve sleep and promote bone growth, it can also help strengthen the immune system. But before you toss away your sunscreen and hit the rays, it’s important we learn to find the right balance between the healing and beneficial components of the sun and shielding ourselves from too much exposure.
