If you’re one of those people who can’t imagine a day without makeup? I can definitely relate. For many people wearing make up calms them down and the simple act of putting on a bold lipstick may be the first step in doing something that relieves their anxiety. However, make up can sometimes be harmful to your skin’s health and can lead to acne, ageing, oiliness and dryness. Today, I am talking to Dr Heather Woolery-Lloyd, an internationally recognised expert in skin care and the creator of the Specific Beauty skincare line, about the confidence conflict surrounding makeup, some of the unfriendly components in everyday makeup and how this can ultimately lead to skin problems.
So whilst make up might be able to soothe an anxious mind, it’s important to love and take care of your skin. And as the world of make up is ever expanding it’s now more important than ever to consider the emotional and psychological impacts of what we are putting on our faces each day.
