Adam (00:13):
Welcome to the Mobile Armored Podcast Show, the
podcast that transforms into theTimes Square New Year's Eve
ball.
I am Adam Moore, alongside my cohost, best friend PJ McNerney.
Happy New Year, PJ.

PJ (00:28):
Happy New Year.
It feels good to be back in theseat again and doing this.
It's, you know, I think wedidn't appreciate how much the
holidays were going to bowl usover

Adam (00:39):
Yeah.

PJ (00:39):
to get done.

Adam (00:40):
We basically took all of December off.
And uh, we apologize to those ofyou who did not get episodes of
the Mobile Armored podcast showin their stockings We had to get
through the holidays, but wehave a bonus episode here for
you to make up for it because wefeel that the gang at Mask and
Venom probably have some NewYear's resolutions.

PJ (01:03):
They do.
I mean, I think after, you know, let's face it, Uncle Miles got
drunk at Thanksgiving.
Matt forgot to get ScottChristmas presents and people
were disappointed by theirvarious Christmas, Kwanzaa,
Hanukkah, and Festivuscelebrations.
So we're trying to make up forit right now

Adam (01:22):
Exactly.
So rather than get into our ownpersonal resolutions, which of
course, dear listener is simplyto provide the highest quality
mask podcast there is out there.
We will focus instead on ourgood friends at Mask and Venom.
So starting with Matt himself.
Matt has really decided that hewants to spend more time

(01:46):
traveling traveling.

PJ (01:49):
And Gloria alone,

Adam (01:50):
That's all it says.
Just Gloria.
There's no mention of anyoneelse involved in that.
Notably not Bruce or Dusty or ofcourse, Scott or T Bob.
Just more time traveling withGloria.

PJ (02:06):
it's funny because I think we'll talk about this in an
upcoming episode, he does do alot of traveling, but Just
doesn't seem he often remembersto bring Gloria with her

Adam (02:17):
Well, that's it.
So he's resolved to remember herthis time.

PJ (02:21):
Okay, Okay, I

Adam (02:22):
Yeah.

PJ (02:23):
he'd want more tax breaks in the new year, like he's hoping
for like, some billionaire'swindfall,

Adam (02:28):
Yeah we can only see how things go Well, I thought
interestingly enough thoughScott's uh, New Year's
resolutions, whereas Matt wantsto spend more time traveling
with Gloria, Scott wants tospend more time at home with
Matt.
So

PJ (02:43):
a stable home life and not be traversing everywhere all the
time.

Adam (02:48):
yeah, constantly being thrown into danger and not left
alone at home with, Or anyoneelse who might be there, which,
might be Gloria?

PJ (02:56):
I like the idea of Matt saying look, Scott, I can give
you two thirds of thisresolution you can spend more
time at home.
I 100 percent agree.
This is Scott's resolution andI'm just like so saddened by the
fact that I know he won't getit,

Adam (03:12):
Yeah, it's very true.
Let's talk about Scott's bestfriend, T Bob.
So T Bob's resolution is to findmore joy in life.
Because as we know he is a veryanxious downer.
Of a robot.
And even in those moments wherehe does find joy, which tends to
be tossing around ancientartifacts, he's constantly, shut

(03:38):
down by Scott, Matt and otherswhen he's finding joy.
So I think that's really wherehe's going.
He wants to find more joy inlife.
Yeah.

PJ (03:48):
but T Bob's been definitely taking on a religious bent.
I think he's trying to figureout his place in the universe.
So I think he's wondering ifhe's the robot Messiah.
And so I think he's trying todetermine that.
I think that might be part ofhis.
Maybe his joy path is reallylike, you know, am I actually
like the one to bring change?

Adam (04:06):
He has multiple times been held up as a Messiah type
figure.
So,

PJ (04:11):
Has.

Adam (04:12):
if he, yeah.
And if he determines he actuallyis the robot Messiah, will that
in fact, bring him more joy?

PJ (04:18):
It's a good point.
Tupac thought he was a god.

Adam (04:21):
Not the rapper.
The,

PJ (04:25):
and revived the uh, the white guy, the Bedouins

Adam (04:30):
from the book of power, right?

PJ (04:31):
of power thought he was like something.
So evidence.

Adam (04:36):
We will see if T Bob can find more joy in life this year.
Gloria Tracker, Gloria BakerTracker her resolution is to get
back to racing more.
She finds that this married lifeand uh, going off on on
adventures with mask has reallytaken away from her true love.
Which is racing.

PJ (04:56):
What I love about this is, again, I 100 percent agree.
This is like what she wants todo.
And we know for a fact thatshe's going to be disappointed
in season two, when despite thefact this being completely her
wheelhouse, she is shut out ofbasically all the racing season
episodes.

Adam (05:15):
I think it's great.
Probably some sort of amateurhour anyways, and she's like a
super pro.

PJ (05:20):
It's true.

Adam (05:22):
Good luck to you, Gloria.
We hope you get that resolution.
Hondo McLean.
So Hondo really wants to dig inand take teaching seriously this
year.
Cause he's always running offand not getting any grading done
or,

PJ (05:37):
or angrily being a coach, like he'll just do the fuck you
shots at the basketball court.
Mow down all those kids, like onthe football field.

Adam (05:46):
right.
And it's just, he really wantsto put all that aside in the new
year.
No, I'm an educator.
I am a coach.
I am a mentor to, to the youngpeople of this country and I
want to do a good job at it.

PJ (05:57):
I wonder if he's actually going to discover on that path,
if his anger as a coach and ateacher stems from some deep
seated childhood wound, and he'sgoing to have to go on some sort
of quest to figure that one out.

Adam (06:11):
Yeah.
Maybe he can hook up with Bradwith one of Brad's new year's
resolutions later on, but thatcould be his, his resolution is
to figure out what is wrong withhim and how to get over this
anger.
Yeah.
Alex Sector his resolution issimply.
Pandas.

(06:31):
Pandas.
Not, what do you think thatmeans, PJ?

PJ (06:34):
I, you know, you brought this up and I really, I go back
to basically our panda powerepisode.

Adam (06:41):
Huh.

PJ (06:41):
gotta wonder how much did Alex convince Matt can you leave
a few pandas here on EasterIsland and just claim that Venom
killed them for meat to theChinese government so I may have
some time with them?
There's something here whereit's like, I, I kind of wonder
like, you know, Alex basically,He just wants to like, the

(07:02):
pandas feel like that orangutanwhose spirit he broke.

Adam (07:06):
It's the one animal he's yet to break.

PJ (07:09):
Killed yes, but break no.

Adam (07:12):
Not yet.
The other half of thecodependent pair, Bruce Sato,
Bruce wants to Marie Kondo allhis closets.
He,

PJ (07:21):
an issue for him?

Adam (07:23):
No, I don't but, because he has one outfit that he wears,
much like Scott.
But I think.
He feels they've gotten a littletoo messy.
And so he's just gonna dig inand start all over again for the
new year and really justorganize all his closets.
He might have a lot of closetsin his house.

PJ (07:42):
He might.
Maybe the messiness isn't histhough.
Maybe

Adam (07:45):
Mm hmm.

PJ (07:46):
Vanessa's.
Because we've establishedthere's some kind of wistfulness
between the two of them.

Adam (07:50):
That's true.

PJ (07:51):
And I wonder if actually, he's actually wants to resolve
to stop using his stupid Coens

Adam (07:58):
Mm hmm.

PJ (07:59):
His feelings to Vanessa.

Adam (08:01):
Now are those feelings about how much he cares for her
or his feelings about how shemesses up his closets?

PJ (08:07):
This is the thing is that, he's not being direct about it.
Like

Adam (08:10):
Uh Huh.

PJ (08:10):
very passive aggressive.
Like, you know, It's like, ah,the leaf can blow.
And be nature unto itself, butwhen gathered together is a mess
in the driveway.
Like, I mean, I feel likethere's like, there's this, this
thing where he's trying toexpress something and she's not
getting it rightfully so.

Adam (08:32):
Love can change many things, but it can also just
leave crap in your closet.
Well, We'll see how uh, thatsyncs up with what Vanessa is
looking for in 2025.
As for Dusty, his New Year'sresolution is to read more
books.
He wants to get more learningon.

PJ (08:52):
I think books is definitely a big part of it.
I don't know if we've seen himread books.
We've certainly seen him stealbooks.
So like, I wonder how much heactually just wants to steal
books at this point in time,

Adam (09:03):
Okay, so he His New Year's resolution is, I'm going to
steal more books.

PJ (09:07):
Lean into what you're gifted at

Adam (09:09):
Alright.
Okay, Dusty.
Well

PJ (09:13):
Books.
100%.

Adam (09:14):
Yeah, it's true.
I mean, He could also resolve tojust be better at his job.
But we all know that's not goingto happen.
Buddy Hawks.
His New Year's resolution is tofind a new job.
It's just over being the BoulderHill mechanic.
And now still on the mask teamor not irrelevant.

(09:37):
He wants a new cover job or justa new job altogether.

PJ (09:41):
He does.
There's never been a moment intime we've seen Buddy be happy
with

Adam (09:46):
Yeah.

PJ (09:46):
job.

Adam (09:47):
Yep.

PJ (09:50):
he like is really angry or shit falls on him or something
like that.

Adam (09:54):
We wish you good luck, buddy.
Let's see what happens for youin 2025.
As for Brad Turner, the finalmember of the mask team he had a
few great experiences this pastyear.
And as a result, he's decided hewants to lean in and really go
on a lot more psychedelic trips.
They have opened up new doorsfor him, and he's just ready to

(10:17):
dive in headfirst.
What do you think?

PJ (10:19):
I think this is 100 percent true.
Whether he's on drugs or not,Let's recall a recent episode
where he had to tell Matt, Yeah, two giant eagles came down and I
gave them the giant coin andthen Scott was left on the
cliff.
Again who knows?

(10:40):
Was he on a trip at the time ornot?
Doesn't matter.
Because as far as he'sconcerned, real life's the same.

Adam (10:47):
Exactly.
And, you know, I think if he andHondo hook up, he could probably
help Hondo on some ayahuascatrip, really get to the bottom
of this deep seated anger fromhis childhood wounds.
So

PJ (10:59):
And maybe help Bruce basically, with his feelings
blockage.

Adam (11:03):
maybe if everyone got on board with Brad, they could all
use some help.
Maybe leave Scott out of it, but

PJ (11:09):
I like the idea that this episode ends with them
worshiping T Bob as the robotMessiah, of the Ayahuasca trip.

Adam (11:19):
Well, Good luck to you, Mask.
Turning to our friends withVenom, Miles, he's decided to
really work on his temper.
I mean, He really treats hisemployees poorly.
He gets angry at the end ofevery episode when Mask thwarts
his plans.

(11:39):
So he's really decided thisyear, I'm going to tackle this
problem.

PJ (11:43):
I a hundred percent back this.
This is what he said, this iswhat he stated, everyone, he
wrote a contract for this.
seconds after the New York balldropped, Cliff spilled a drink
on him, and he was like, Fuckthis shit.
Like, he is, like, he gave up onthis the quickest of anybody.

Adam (12:03):
Yeah, I would imagine actually of all of them, miles
is the first one to break hisresolution.
He has zero willpowerwhatsoever.
As for Sly.
Unlike Brad, he has decided heneeds to go on fewer psychedelic
trips.
He's discovered that's reallygetting in the way of his work.

(12:23):
And so he's trying to really notgo on fewer.
Note that it's not go on none, but just to reduce the number of
trips that he goes on this year.

PJ (12:34):
I think this is directly proportional to the amount of
damage he takes on a regularbasis, meaning that, let's face
it, half of his psychedelictrips are probably due to being
on some heavy duty narcotic todeal with the pain.

Adam (12:49):
Right.

PJ (12:49):
if he can, if he could basically cut out the spine
breaking injuries that he incurson a regular basis,

Adam (12:57):
Uh Huh.

PJ (12:57):
all right, we're gonna go strictly recreational at this
point in time.

Adam (13:00):
Yeah, there you go.
Good orbit.
Yeah.
Recreational slash mental healthmedicinal.

PJ (13:06):
100%.

Adam (13:07):
I hope maybe he and Brad can hook up and work on that.
Also, by the way, Cliff, similarto a dusty, he wants to read
more books.

PJ (13:15):
Yeah.

Adam (13:16):
theme, common theme for resolutions.

PJ (13:18):
I would love it if Cliff got a whole bunch of books and Dusty
just stole them.
Like, And it's like reallydisappointing if Cliff's trying
to like self improve and theycan't because like it's all just
been like, taken away.

Adam (13:32):
Hey, where'd my books go?

PJ (13:34):
self esteem books too because people keep shitting on
them.

Adam (13:38):
Oh, Cliff.
he just can't seem to get therebecause his books keep getting
stolen and it's not it's notlike Dusty's reading them.
He's just stealing them.
Last but not least.
Vanessa.
Vanessa's resolution is to findher Mr.
Right.
She's been Looking for love inall the wrong places.

(13:59):
And this year she's gonna findhim.
She's going to find the guy thatcompletes her.

PJ (14:06):
Or Mrs.
Wright.
Or, the, or the Wright commune.
Or, settle with Bruce what thefuck is up with their
relationship.

Adam (14:15):
Okay.
So she's got a lot on, so Mrs.
Right, there is a Gloria Vanessaundercurrent.

PJ (14:23):
Is

Adam (14:23):
So.

PJ (14:23):
Vanessa undercurrent?
I mean, I feel

Adam (14:25):
Mm hmm.
Mm

PJ (14:26):
The freest spirit of them all.
Like, I mean, I think Gloriacomes, a hair close, But seems
sort of more open to like, willing to sit, settle down.

Adam (14:35):
Yeah, I think Vanessa's also the most likely to walk
away from this whole enterprise.

PJ (14:41):
Oh yeah.

Adam (14:43):
given moment.

PJ (14:44):
I think she's like, is this still worth it?
Like I could leave at any time.

Adam (14:49):
My final question for you.
We know that Miles is the firstone who's going to break his
resolution.
Out of everyone we've talkedabout today, PJ, who do you
think is most likely to keeptheir resolution?

PJ (15:00):
Brad

Adam (15:01):
Ha, ha, ha.

PJ (15:04):
Brad's desire to really lean into these more psychedelic
trips.
I think he can do it.
I think he's got the stamina todo it.

Adam (15:10):
Yeah,

PJ (15:11):
the will.
And so, uh, I think, that'sgoing to happen.

Adam (15:14):
for all the same reasons, I think Alex with pandas, he's
got the stamina, he's got thewill, he's dedicated and he's
motivated.
And whatever pandas means tohim, he's going to achieve that
this year.
Well, look, everyone.
We wish you all the best of luckwith your new year's
resolutions.
Uh, We hope one of them is tocontinue on the journey with us.

(15:38):
Hope you enjoyed this bonusepisode.
But for now we're going totransform and head back to HQ.
I am Adam Moore.

PJ (15:44):
and I am PJ McNerney,

Adam (15:46):
