Ever tried sipping on a Midnight Margarita while pondering life’s little messes? That’s exactly what we got up to in this episode of Mocktails Or Messy, as we spun tales of cocktails mixed with spooky flavors like blood orange and pomegranate juice. We spilled the beans about the reality of our friendship through the ages, alongside hilarious misadventures in organization. And yes, we even dared to tackle the appearance pressures of modern life—Botox, hair extensions, and all—while sharing a hard-learned lesson: haunted places are best left unbothered unless you’re truly ready for their ghostly consequences.

How do you feel about the transformation of the iconic Victoria's Secret Fashion Show? We explored the rise of influencer models like Gigi Hadid, and celebrated the inclusivity brought by plus-size queens like Ashley Graham. The stage was set with electrifying performances from artists like Tyla, and we couldn't help but wonder if the brand is keeping pace with the true allure of its models. Our chat navigated through nostalgia for veteran models, and a critical look at the strategic—or not-so-strategic—choices that sometimes overshadow the runway’s true stars.

Ever considered using red lipstick as blush? We uncovered this beauty hack while recounting our paranormal experience at the Omni William Penn Hotel, where eerie events seemed to amplify our emotions. Tales of a tragic salesman from 1922 and whispers of ghostly altercations added to the mystique of this haunted hotspot. Our personal revelations intermingled with the supernatural, leaving us with an undeniable curiosity about what lingers in the hotel's shadows. So grab your favorite mocktail, settle in, and join us for a laughter-filled, spine-tingling ride through beauty secrets and ghost stories.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
This is Kelly Mazgorski and Ryan Frankofsky
and you're listening toMocktails or Messy.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Well, this is a show that we love to talk about train
wrecks, debauchery.
We love to talk about hottopics, sometimes about
ourselves, and we love to do itwith a cock or a mock in hand.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yes, let's go.
Mocktails or Messy Kelly, let'sgo.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Okay, so today we were having a midnight margarita
, fitting for the month ofOctober, and we've got our nifty
bartender here.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
I'm your mixologist today and I will definitely be
excited to make the midnightmargarita.
Where did you come up with this?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
I was just Googling stuff and I was like that's
interesting.
Now this is improvised a lotfrom the one I saw, so typically
you'd have like black saltaround the rim, so we're going
to do no salt.
Yeah, and I have blood orangejuice, which I swear I've bought
it before and it was more likea deeper color, kind of like
more like a purple.

(01:02):
Maybe I'm making that up in myhead right now, so anyways, it
looks pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Well, I got some pomegranate.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
They were like, put black food dye in there and I
was like I don't like to eatlike food dye, so I got some
pomegranate juice for color yeah, you did a good job, but it is
a strong flavor, so we'll see ifit works.
And I have limes too, I like doI have the limes.
I have them.
You know what?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
I'm going to go grab them.
I want to just check and makesure.
Yeah, I definitely have them.
Do you want the glass shakerthe official one, or do you want
the?

Speaker 1 (01:33):
blender bowl, either or.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Or the blender bottle .

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Guys, we're so disorganized.
We had two.
We had like a metal shaker anda glass shaker.
We don't know what happened tothe metal shaker, it got lost.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I know we need to be a little bit more organized.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
I don't think it's ever going to happen.
We're 33.
I know Right, it's just nevergoing to happen, and even behind
us right now.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
it just shows the timeline of our childhood
friendship.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Oh my gosh, and it seems like it's an involvement.
So we have the first.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
this is our like kind of logo screen right now.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yes, this is this one's from 20 years ago.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, and then this is from like 10 ish years ago
and now we need to do an update.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
You gotta tell me when you when when are we gonna
do a little time for an updated?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
uh, yeah we were told that like that's just like so
old I'm like guys.
That was 13 years ago.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah, apparently people can recognize you, but
they say that they can'trecognize me from 20 years ago.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I know, I feel like you look like so much you kind
of.
It looks a little bit likeAaron in that photo.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
You're like my sister , yeah, I think that like people
are so quick to accuse women oflike having something done, and
I've had nothing done exceptfor Botox and right now I need a
retouch Look, I have likemotion back, so like you could
call me natural right now.
Anyways, I haven't had anythingdone and, yeah, I think that we

(03:02):
just go through puberty andthings start to look a little
different.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I know, and I was just thinking to myself like so
you don't want to have anyemotion.
Is that the that seems like tobe the key?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
oh no, I need it gone .
I need my emotion gone becauseI'm too emotional.
So I, yeah, I need to schedulean appointment, but I, yes, I
got my hair extensions out.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Oh, my god, what do you think are you like?
Do you feel naked without them?
I did initially hair extensionsout.
Oh my God, what do you thinkAre?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
you like.
Do you feel naked without them?
I did initially and I'm like,oh my gosh, I have no hair.
Like why did I get them out?
But you know, they were justbothering me.
I felt like I wanted to ripthem out of my skull.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
So like.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
I'm taking a break Whether I put them back in or
not it's anyone's guess.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
It's anyone's guess I might.
I did love them, but like Ineeded a break, yeah, and your
hair grew so fast, so like Ididn't even realize when you got
him taken out.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
I mean you felt it, you noticed it, but I was just
like I was so pissed.
He came over.
We're hanging out and I'm likelike flipping my hair, like
trying to like I don't knowcatch my attention put it in his
face that like hey, something'sdifferent, right?
What is with these men?
They don't notice.
If Catch my attention, put itin his face hey, something's
different, right?
What is with these men?
They don't notice if you getlike a haircut or your hair
extensions out.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
That's pretty bad.
You thought your gay bestie orbi bestie would be able to
notice this shit.
You thought it was just thestraight men, but it's also the
bi and the gay guys Exactly.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
So that's why I guess I'm making an announcement now.
I guess I'm making anannouncement now.
Everybody noticed my hair.
It's different.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Well, I do really like the fact that you kind of
want to incorporate thismidnight margarita with the
spooky season.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
We are still in.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Halloween.
It's October.
We are trying to enjoy it.
We had a little, you knowinteresting time.
What was it?
We were recently on site.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I don't know what to call it.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
We have a lot to unpack on this episode, guys,
and I'm excited to talk about it, and the lesson that you will
learn about this episode isWould be maybe like don't like
fuck around at haunted places, because if you fuck around you
find out right.
That is so true.
Fuck around and find out.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
But I think I still want to fuck around.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I know you're a little mischievous.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Today, we do want to talk about the victoria's secret
fashion show and we're going totalk about the omni william
penn hotel and its hauntingsthat is located in pittsburgh,
pa.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
That's where we are at currently do we want to
cheers to our little midnightmargarita thank you, kelly, for
coming up with the drink thistime.
You're welcome.
You always are good aboutcoming up with some interesting
not just Halloween authentic tothe seasons.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
It's like you've got to experience all four seasons
and I know there's some climates.
There's climates that you don'treally notice the changes of
the seasons with the climate.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Oh wow, that color is not what I was expecting.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
You want to show us all your color.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
This is not the color I was expecting.
I guess that's why they usedthe black food dye.
I totally thought thepomegranate juice would like you
know what?

Speaker 2 (06:05):
I didn't put so much pomegranate it's still a
beautiful fall color oh yeah,it's like a pumpkin spice latte
yeah, it's like a pumpkin color.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
So what can we call this?

Speaker 2 (06:15):
because we kind of made it up we are gonna call it
something with tequila, so maybewe'll call it a pumpkin putty
cat, marg sure, or pumpkin puttycat, I don't know your call.
I like pumpkin somethingbecause it looks like pumpkin
but it doesn't taste likepumpkin, I'm sure I know we
cannot like, oh, you can't callit pumpkin if it's not tasting

(06:36):
like it you know what it's?

Speaker 1 (06:38):
fall y'all, and at least it's the right color for
fall.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
It's not midnight but we didn't follow the recipe.
It's fall y'all.
Maybe it's called the fally'all.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
It's called the fall y'all.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Fall y'all, fall y'all, child, let's go.
Okay, oh my God, that's reallygood.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
It is good.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
My mocktail is very tequila forward.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Yeah, and forward.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yeah, it's pretty.
It's kind of tart, probablyfrom the pomegranate juice,
maybe even the orange, but it'start and uh, if you like tart
things, just be right up youralley.
I really love this.
Now, shout out to our mocktail.
Today we got free spirits, thespirit of tequila, non-alcoholic
, use this, then you.
You know, when I read about theevils of drinking, I gave it up
.
Read reading.
That is henny youngman, that'sjust like a quote.

(07:32):
So, nutritional facts 10calories per serving size.
So that's 1.5 fluid ounce, which is, you know, about
roughly the the shot.
Do you want to do a shottogether?

Speaker 1 (07:42):
oh, not really.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
No, I don't do shots, okay I'm to do a shot together,
not really.
No, I don't do shots.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Okay, I'm going to do a shot by myself, Okay cheers,
it's good.
Damn.
It looks like a nice color, soI did choose mine, because it
has a little skull on it.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
So this is a tequila with alcohol.
It's called Tequila Exotico, Ithink.
I've heard of it before, neverhad it.
But cute seasonal has a skull.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
It's all about Halloween with that bottle.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
I don't think it's technically seasonal but it's
seasonal for me because it hasthe skull.
I'm all about pictures.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Blanco, tequila, exotica, love it.
So that's your messy, that'syour cocktail.
Yes, and Free Spirits.
Tequila, the spirit of tequila.
It's not a tequila, it'sbasically a tequila alternative.
It's really flavorful.
It has, like the Mexican agave,it got an American oat.
So, like I definitely recommendthis, I think this is my

(08:42):
favorite tequila alternative.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Good, I'm glad.
So we're going to use it.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
We're going to use it more often.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
That's really fun.
Okay, so we would love to talkabout the Victoria's Secret
fashion show.
So did you even know that?

Speaker 2 (08:57):
the fashion show was happening.
Ryan, december is always how itis, and now this is the first
time I've ever heard it being inOctober.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
I'm so confused.
It was discontinued 2019.
They discontinued it due tolack of diversity and plummeting
ratings.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Why?
Well, that's just what you justsaid, I mean truly, it was not
very diverse.
Right.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
And I think people were just like over it.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah, they were just throwing in like eh yeah, like
you boycott it.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
You boycott things that just aren't suiting you
Right.
So I didn't really know it wasgoing to ever come back.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
All right, Cause it's like damn it's.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
it hasn't happened since 2019.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Yeah, that's a long ass time ago.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Right and like maybe I live under a rock, but I
didn't know it was happeningthis year.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
I had no clue.
Please, like somebody, let meknow.
How were you supposed to findout?
Were you just like?
Was it advertised?
I feel like they did it sounder the radar.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
I know.
So I saw like on posts onInstagram and I'm like what?
So I had to go back and watchit like after the fact.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Yeah.
Totally would have watched itreal time, gigi fact yeah,
totally would have watched itreal time, um gg gg hadid.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
She was the opening model.
She looked beautiful.
I think that's very welldeserved, isn't she like the
most popular?

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I think she's the highest paid female model right
now.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Yeah, and isn't she like an influencer too?

Speaker 2 (10:20):
basically like well, yeah, you know what they said.
Like whenever it was happening, like first, like that kendall
jenner and gg hadid were makinga big like, big on the scene
with the victoria secret fashionshows.
They called them the influencermodels so they weren't like the
og original victoria's secretmodels and these new girls come

(10:40):
into play and they're like, whoare they?
and, to be honest with you, Inever really thought of kendall
jenner ever becoming avictoria's secret model.
Right like.
She looks like a high fashionmodel in my opinion, but I never
looked at her as like.
But she looked like she fitsthe part and it's like they're
very much more inclusive withall different types of
individuals from ashley grahamwho is like one of the most

(11:04):
stunning plus size.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Oh my god she crushed it.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yeah, she did.
She was not showing, she waslike showing it all.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
I'm pretty pleased with how things went.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Um, not Tyla am I saying it right?
Tyla her performance.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I mean her body is that how it goes.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah, I don't know the lyrics and I'm like dang,
she should have been walking onthe runway, but technically she
was because she was singing upthere, I know, don't you love
how they make those artists likehighlight, like, as, like I
remember Taylor Swift did ityears ago and she looked just as
sexy as some of thesevictoria's secret fashion models
?

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I believe david mcknight did it like back in the
day and that was so sexy, likehim singing his songs, like with
the models walking yeah, theperformances are always now.
I know that, like people werecomplaining about the color
palette, so basically, let meexplain.
Like color palette, so yourpersonal coloring is due to your

(12:06):
skin tone, your eyes, the colorof your eyes and the color of
your hair and gold tones.
They're best suited forwarm-toned skin and silver tones
or more suited for lighter skin.
And then, if you want to gomore into it, there's like four
other color palettes Spring, summer, autumn and winter.

(12:29):
Summer represents a palettewith soft, cool colors like
pastels and muted tones, andwinter is more like vivid and
higher contrast and darkershades.
Higher contrast and darkershades.
Do you think the color palettecould have been improved upon

(12:49):
with these models?

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Some of it didn't match up to them and their skin
tones.
Honestly, I think I'mconstantly just looking at their
faces, their boobs, their butt, their body, their legs, their
shimmer.
It's tough to even notice.
I don't even notice the colorpalette as a guy.
I'm looking at body, oddy, oddy, and their face is just like

(13:13):
they're so smiling and they'regiving that smize, that look,
and just the legs with theshimmer and the tan.
I really never noticed thatcolor palette.
But when you brought it to myattention I was like, okay, I
get it.
Like there were some momentswhere I was like okay, so maybe,
when it comes down to it, yes,you should alter it, but it's

(13:34):
more of like a commercial, wow, like advertisement for
victoria's secret that that's,and that was such a good point
that you just made.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Like they didn't create these color palettes for
these models, they chose modelsto wear their clothing that you
just made.
Like they didn't create thesecolor palettes for these models,
they chose models to wear theirclothing that they created.
So, like what?
What are we gonna do?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
yeah, like, I get what you're saying.
Like, even when we talked tofernando j garcia, oscar de
larenta, designer, he saidwhatever somebody feels their
best in is the best design forthem.
Now, this was somethingdifferent.
This is something to showcasethe actual product which is

(14:13):
Victoria's Secret.
So I think, in some ways, if itis the best color palette for
that specific model, that wouldbe advertising her over the
product, because the product hasto be the show, the showcase,
focal point, right, if I'mthinking from like a marketing
product it's like people arejust up in arms about things.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
But it's like, if you think, logically you're
completely right.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
So I think you have a really great point there, ryan
I just dissected that right nowin my head I love it, I don't
know if I'm accurate or on themoney, but like I agree, Like
there was one that you showedthat Gigi Hadid which was like
much more pink.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Yeah, like a light pink on, but it was like, oh,
she would look better and I'mlike a more mauve or a coral.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
So I think the coral would fit her better, right.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
But the pink was like a signature victoria's secret.
Yeah, love it.
That is such a great point, ryan.
Now some people are saying thatthe veterans were done dirty,
like adriana, lima and candaceum candace had like dinky wings
on.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
They just said like victoria's secret, whereas, like
gg, hadid.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
She comes out, you know, on the runway and she's
like struggling for her lifebecause her wings are so heavy,
right and huge.
And um, you know, they hadthese slicked back ponies, they
didn't candace, and um adriana, and they didn't have like the
signature bouncy, flouncyblowout, that like victory

(15:45):
secret models are known for, soit's like were they done dirty.
And then tyra tyra.
She was so covered up and I'mnot sure if that was her
choosing or but it's like rockthe curves girl like ashley
graham, she rocked it like I waslike drooling.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
She really did.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
She was so stunning and um, I mean she had just more
of like a casual style, likewith her hair and stuff it
wasn't like as um polished, asvictoria's secret models
normally look like in thefashion show.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
It's like they basically just did nothing with
her hair now, do you and I askedyou this before, but just to
re-emphasize do you think thatthe younger instagram model, gg,
hadid the other younger newgeneration models?
I what you said.
They just had like shorter cuts.
Was it understated as well?

Speaker 1 (16:40):
um, some of them were like I.
I would say, if we're lookingat diversity, there was a lot of
diversity in the hairdepartment.
I'm just not sure why the OGmodels didn't have that like OG
look, but maybe that's just whatI was hoping to see.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Right and maybe people like to see other things,
things so well, I guess, likekind of the same way with when
you think about some of thesecelebrities.
Like they have these gorgeousdresses on and sometimes they
want like a very plain hair, like just like a very like
whatever, like slick it back toshowcase like the dress and

(17:18):
maybe to make it look likeunderstated.
So maybe that was their, butyou're right like if they just
have a slick back pony, thatwasn't doing anything for anyone
.
For, like you would expect themto be a little bit more
glamorous.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
I don't know, adriana , adriana, lima and candace.
I think you say like swanpool,I don't know if I'm saying that,
right they're like both one ofmy.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
They're like my favorite.
I know they are just so.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Their bodies are just insane.
I know.
So I think Adriana is like 43.
What, yeah?
And Candace is 36.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Oh wow, she's still pretty young.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
And they haven't like , they haven't aged a bit, I
know.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Candace and her husband.
Like Jason the actor, they justgive me all the right feels.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Right.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
They're so hot.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Now I do want to try one thing.
So Rosemary Swift.
So she's a former makeup artistfor Victoria's.
Secret, and she suggests andthis is what she did with the
models was that you use redblush or red lipstick on your
face and it gives a more naturalsexy look.
So I'm going to try it rightnow.

(18:30):
Red blush, yeah, or you caneven use red lipstick.
So I don't have any red blush.
I have this red lipstick that Inever used before because I was
just thinking red.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Yeah, really, I'm gonna try it right now.
Okay, so you're pulling out ared lipstick, yeah so I have a
red lipstick right here it is.
Oh my god, that is fucking reddude.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah 714 mega matte lipstick and it's urban decay oh
god I need a little mirror formyself, so do you want me to
hold it?

Speaker 2 (18:58):
bear with me, I'm just gonna I can hold it for you
, yeah I'm just gonna try this.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
You just hold it, just like that um yeah.
So basically you take it andyou just kind of put it in here
Wait should we do a video ofthis, of you doing it?

Speaker 2 (19:13):
I'm going to do a video real quick.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Okay, yeah, then we can zoom in.
Okay.
So I already put the red on.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Do you want to just do it real quick again, like
just pretend like you justapplied it again, just to
showcase it?

Speaker 1 (19:29):
yeah, just well, I don't want to like, yeah, so I
just put the red lipstick on tomy cheeks and so now I'm going
to blend it in, okay I cannotbelieve she's doing this this is
crazy okay actually.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
So I'm kind of seeing what they're talking about and
sexy.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Okay, so I'm fair skin.
So I was like, oh my God, thisis me too much.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Well, it's kind of funny because, like, I do
actually now understand, becausepink does look a little fake.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Right.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Right, because nobody's actually pink.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
You see it.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
It's a little scary to do because it's like I think,
because I'm using like lipstick, it just like takes a little
bit longer.
No, you did a good job To blend, but I think it does look good.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Oh my God.
Yeah, I'm really into it.
So, okay, that's prettyimpressive.
So this is something that theycame up like.
It's like a new concept.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
No, it is like an old concept.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
yeah, I'm really confused now.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Like I didn't know, lipstick could be like it's like
a Victoria's Secret hack.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
It's from the old times.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Like they probably didn't tell people because, like
, like, they used this on themodels and, yeah, they wanted to
make it a little exclusive, yeah, but it actually does look.
Uh, yeah, I'm not gonna lielike I totally get what they're
saying, because pink I saw onsomebody recently and it looked
like a little like what are thegirls like?
The little tiny girls that wearthe makeup, like the pageant,
little girls.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah, like a toddler in tiara, yeah a toddler in
tiara.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
I remember seeing this beautiful 70-some-year-old
woman and she had really pinkblush and it looked ridiculous
and I thought of the toddlers intiara.
I'm like you kind of look likeOkay, so do the red, do red guys
?

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Yes, Okay, the toddlers in tiara.
I'm like you kind of look likeokay, so do the red.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Do you read, guys okay?

Speaker 1 (21:35):
now next, um, I would like to just give a little
opening.
So, we did explore the omniwilliam penn hotel um a little
creepy.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
It's hailed one of the most haunted places in
pittsburgh uh-huh and um andthere's william omni pens all
throughout the United States, but the one in Pittsburgh seems
to be having some like ghostspirits.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Yeah, so we actually are going to link some like our
experience here.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Yeah, I'll say did not go as well as I like.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
I mean, have a look for yourself.
We are here at the Omni WilliamPenn Hotel and we're trying to
get the paranormal investigationguy on the phone.
Corey, he's not picking upright now.
It's okay, we are inside theOmni William Penn Hotel.
We decided to get a littlebeverage.
Ryan got his non-alcoholicHeineken and I have my Cabernet

(22:30):
Sauvignon and we are enjoyingthe ambiance here.
Initially, my cabernetsauvignon and we are enjoying
the ambiance here.
Initially, like there is alittle bit of a dark feeling in
here.
I'm feeling like, you know,tingles.
What about?

Speaker 2 (22:40):
you, ryan.
I think it's kind of a littlesurreal.
You know, we feel like we'regoing back in time yeah, I mean
yes you're here for tea.
Are you here for tea?

Speaker 1 (22:49):
I am not here for tea .
We can move.
I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Yeah, this whole other area up there.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Oh, okay, oh okay.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
I guess we have to get tea or we're going to get
kicked out.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Let's go ahead and go up there.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
You know we talked about this.
You do believe in ghosts.
I do, I believe and then yousaid I'm a little bit skeptical
about the ghost thing.
Now I will say I have not eatenall day so I don't know if this
is a good idea right now, but Ifeel like, even like this rush

(23:24):
is like through us, goingthrough this like hard time and
like work and everything, I feellike there's something in here
that I can't even describe itlike.
Do you feel I can feel what's?

Speaker 1 (23:35):
something in here that I can't even describe it
Like.
Do you feel I can feel what's?

Speaker 2 (23:39):
happened in this building, Kelly.
Something's going on in heretoday.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
I think that they don't want us to record but I've
never seen you like this.
You're like breaking down forno reason.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
I'm overwhelmed and like I feel so stupid, like
leaving LA and not really havelike any career set up for
myself at 33 and I'm likestarting over again and I just
don't want to live like afucking kid living at my parents
it's not easy, but they're sogenerous and they don't make me
feel bad about it.
Like I feel very blessedbecause I've been given this

(24:20):
opportunity to like work at thereal estate firm, but like I
still want to make what we'recreating happen.
And it's overwhelming at timesand I know that you have kids.
I know that it's like I eventhink's, like I even think like
dealing with like family now, like it's just new people in my
life that I'm not reallyaccustomed to and I'm losing

(24:42):
like certain people and I lost arelationship.
So I'm just trying to adjustand it's it's hard.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
I think that I appreciate you being so
vulnerable with me right here.
I think, what's weird that allthese feelings are stirring up
in the Omni William.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Penn.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Hotel.
It's very bizarre Because wesaid we kind of felt something,
but this is real, guys.
This isn't what we expected tohappen today Something's going
on in here.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
And I don't normally do this in front of you.
You nor would I be comfortablewith a camera in my face.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
I've never seen you do this before and, um, I guess,
like it is kind of fucked upthat I'm recording this.
I wanted to show that like thisis out of character for him.
Ryan's not handling the energywell, so we're gonna have to
call it here.
We're gonna have to leave, because he does have a
professional meeting after thisand we can't have him being a
mess.
This is really strange.

(25:35):
I've actually never seen himbreak down like this before I'm
just overwhelmed, kelly.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
I think it's just like something's in this hotel
that I can't really describe.
I feel like emotional and Idon't want to like break down,
especially for before thismeeting at 3 30.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
We might come back um in a few days or something, but
we're gonna have to call it fortoday that was uncomfortable.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
I mean, I never really broke down like that in
front of you really I've neverseen you like that yeah, I don't
know if I put on a strong frontfor you.
I don't know who I've brokendown to like that, but then I
think it was also I did mentionto you.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
It was something about feelinglike grandma nancy was like yeah

(26:20):
, and I'm like what are youtalking about?

Speaker 1 (26:22):
like grandma nancy's, not here like this is the
ghosts of omni william pendohotel.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
But then you got a message from one of your
relatives yeah, I got a messagefrom Grandma Nancy's daughter,
my aunt, aunt Nancy, and shementioned to me we went to the
William Omni Pen when I was twoyears old with Grandma Nancy and
she stated that it was anEaster brunch at the William

(26:47):
Omni Pen Hotel.
They had a petting zoo.
I think we have some pictures.
I'm going to look them up.
I'm pretty sure grandma wasthere holding you and your mom
probably remembers and it wasjust kind of that like
experience, like I was two and Idon't know if, like I like was
crying and like they couldn'tshut me up because I was such a

(27:10):
colicky baby or whatever.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
I don't know.
Well, I don't think anything'schanged.
We still can't, we still can'tshut you up.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
I mean, now I feel like it's coming out more and
more.
I don't know what it is, maybeit's just, like you know, being
emotional.
I mean you'll see why I wasemotional.
I was just breaking down likechanging life.
Life like money, like work, like friendships.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
You just had a total meltdown in there and it was a
little scary yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
And you tried to like capitalize on my emotions by
filming it.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Well, you know what?
I had a babysitter to watch thekids and I wasn't there to fuck
around, right?

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Fuck around and find out, right, that's what happened
to you that day, sounfortunately we did go there to
film, so that's what I did.
Yeah, and I do apologize.
No, I'm just messing with you.
I think, if anything, Iremember when we were doing
another episode in the beginningand you were like you're going
to break down.
I have a feeling, like you haveto show your emotion on this,

(28:21):
like whole thing that you'reexperiencing with the breakup,
and I just couldn't once thecameras were like I know
couldn't, I couldn't shed a tear.
I remember, yeah.
So something changed.
I think it was being on sitefeeling grandma.
Nancy, you know that was a hardday for me too, because we were
running into some likescheduling issues and I'm just
trying to do it all and it'sjust not easy to do it all.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
It all came out and I know my mom works with somebody
that used to work at the OmniWilliam Penn Hotel for 35 years
and she said that this woman sawghosts multiple times within
the 35 years.
She said the craziest one wasshe's waiting in line for the
elevator and there was anotherlike co-worker with her.
They got onto the elevator andthere was there was a woman, you

(29:00):
know, waiting with them.
Ok, she got on and then theygot on behind her and the door
closed and the woman was notthere and they both kind of like
looked at each other, like did, were we seeing things?
And they both like noticed thesame thing happened that the
woman got on the elevator andthen wasn't there after the door

(29:22):
closed oh my god so that is,that is a story that just gave
me the chills.
I know I got the chills sayingit but um, I mean in 1922 um a
traveling salesman liketragically ended his life.
He shot himself in the hoteland that was on the 23rd floor

(29:43):
and he shot himself because hewas dealing with threats of like
shady business stealing oh, hewas getting threats.
Yeah, he couldn't handle thepressure anymore.
He just ended it himself, okay.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
And then another documented one and there's more
than just these two that I'mtalking about those two floors,
the 23rd, and is it the 24th?
The 23rd and the 24th, Ibelieve they're closed.
They're closed.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
It's for storage it could be the 22nd and 23rd, I
don't know, it's whatever one isaround the 23rd, but um, and
then in the seventies there weretwo cooks.
They had an argument, analtercation, and one of the
cooks shot the other cook.
So people claim that they canhear two men arguing at night

(30:28):
and then apparently I don't know, like this one I didn't see
online, but I heard this fromsomeone that some woman like
killed her fiance and like puthim in the closet like in the
hotel room.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Yeah, it sounds like a pun on like shoving him back
in the closet.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
I don't know.
I don't know, guys, but theOmni William Penn Hotel
definitely um has some goes, hassome vibes, yeah yeah, we gotta
get a room there soon.
Yes, we do Totally.
Stay tuned, we're gonna be back, we like the creepy, spooky
season.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
We're both a little dark and twisted.
With, you know, the Halloween.
This is our time of year thatwe thrive in Exactly.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
This is.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Kelly Mazgorski and Ryan Frankofsky, and you're
listening to.
Mocktails are Messy.
Oh my God, I like that.
