In this latest episode of the Moms of the Lou podcast, Rebekah chats with stylist & seamstress, Merrick White. Merrick discusses her move from Dallas to St. Louis, noting the similarities that eased the transition. She highlights the support from friends and a new community that helped her and her family quickly settle in and feel welcomed. Merrick also talks about her business, focusing on Instagram for engagement, and the evolving landscape of social media. She emphasizes the importance of adapting to changes and maintaining a strong online presence. You can connect with Merrick through her blog, Merrick’s Art and follow her on Pinterest and Instagram.
Merrick White is a blogger, stylist, seamstress, clothing designer, mama of three boys, wife to a wonderful guy, and currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri. She started Merrick’s Art back in 2008 when she was in college getting her art degree. After Merrick’s first baby was born in 2010, she discovered a love of sewing and spent a year or two doing a lot of clothing refashions, starting with this one right here. It was at least a year before she finally got brave enough to cut into a piece of fabric and start something from scratch, but she stuck with it and got better with every project! There’s nothing more thrilling for Merrick than designing and constructing a beautiful piece of clothing. Along the way, she became a style writer for Babble Style and SheKnows.com, and a contributor for Jo-Ann’s sewing blog, and wrote for each of them for several years. Over the years, Merrick has become obsessed with putting together outfits and helping women feel more confident in shopping and dressing their bodies.

Ruthie's Table 4
For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
