Unknown (00:00):
Hey, Mama, I'm so excited to hang out with you.
Let me make sure my makeupisn't. It's, it's towards the
end of the day. So now I'm usingthis as I'm here. I had a
meeting today and I ate my lunchon my way to said meeting. And
my business is now prettyautomated and pretty virtual.

(00:23):
But I had an in person meetingtoday. And I'm pretty sure I had
something in my tooth during thewhole meeting, because when I
got home, well, actually notwhen I got home, when I got to
daycare, I went to the bathroom, and I looked at the mirror for
the very first time. And I hadlike a really big something in
my tooth. I was like, I had ameeting with somebody that I

(00:48):
knew she would tell me. So I'mlike, I really kind of want to
check to see if I did havesomething in my tooth. It
doesn't matter at this point.
But I'm like, Would you tell melike, Would you tell me I had
something in my tooth. It wassomething that I ate on my way
to the meeting. So I feel likeit was in my tooth because I

(01:08):
didn't eat on the way todaycare. I ate before the
meeting. That is besides thepoint, but I'm hoping. I mean,
again, it's so silly, it's solike does not even matter. But I
just thought that that wasreally funny. So you're gonna
come with me as I fold somelaundry, because I am prepping

(01:28):
our outfits for the next 30days. So everything, here's my
system, I'm going to talk to youabout productivity, because it's
probably one of my favoritetopics. For years, so many
people have told me howproductive I am and how good I
am at time management. And Ifeel like when you just live a
certain way, you don't reallysee it as like this Wow thing.

(01:51):
I'm just like, well, this isjust who I am. However, I'm
starting to own it because Ihave been doing something called
a to done list versus the versusa to do list. So I still write a
to do list. However, at the endof the day, kind of like a
journal exercise, I revieweverything I did do versus going

(02:12):
to bed reviewing everything youdidn't do because as a mom
building an empire, there'salways going to be something
that we didn't get done. It'sjust it is it's like even
tonight, my list is still goingand my energy is not. And so
I've had to make the decision oflike, what am I going to get

(02:36):
done because this whole list, ambitious Nellie, at the
beginning of the day, I had allthis energy. And then obviously
there's only so much energy togo around. So I've really
enjoyed a to done list. At theend of the day. Sometimes I
share it on social sometimes Idon't. But I am making a
conscious effort regardless if Ishared or not to take a moment

(02:58):
to like really acknowledge howmuch I did get done. So I think
that that's really, reallyimportant. And the vibe of a to
done list has been incredible, because it really puts you in a
state of abundance. And justfeeling accomplished because

(03:19):
you're like, wow, I actually didget a lot done. And a lot of
times there's so many things ona mother on a mother's list.
That's not on her list that shehas to do. Like, I don't write,
getting kids ready in themorning on my list. I'm folding
blankets terribly right nowbecause I'm trying to multitask.
You don't have to be perfect. Soanywho I figured I would try to

(03:43):
multitask and talk to you aboutproductivity as I fold laundry
and prep our outfits for thenext 30 days. The prepping the
outfits and prepping meals for30 days at a time. It is a big
it is a big commitment. But mybrain. Oh, my brain has loved

(04:06):
it. Like like during the week.
It is so nice not to have toreally think too hard about
what's for dinner. What are whatare we wearing? Right? It's just
been incredible. So before I gettoo far into talking to you
about productivity, and MOMPcracks of time, I want to

(04:29):
quickly give a shout out to ourepisode sponsor, which is
Kristin Roark. She is one of ourtop sponsors. I can't talk about
her enough. I have worked withher for years and I've seen her
grow as a business woman and asa mother and it's just been so
rewarding. And I hope shedoesn't mind me spilling the tea

(04:49):
a little bit. But she has asquat challenge coming up. I'm
not gonna give you too manydetails. But make sure you are
connected with her becauseyou're not going to want to miss
out On this squat challenge,it's going to be really, really
fun. And Kristen is like a totalbadass. And I don't know about
you, but summer is coming. And Iwant a really good booty, like,

(05:11):
there's a lot of junk in thetrunk, but it needs a little bit
of a lift, right. And how we dothat is squats. And she has some
really smart methods to get aamazing, you know, feel good
body inside and out in the smallmom cracks of time. So she's
going to help you on the bodyside, I'm going to help you on

(05:33):
like the time management sideAnd together, we're just all
going to take over the world. Socheck out Kristin, you can
always comment below squatchallenge if you're watching a
video of this episode, and orjust connect with her on social
media, because that will make itreally, really easy. So let's
talk productivity. So first andforemost, you starting to see

(05:54):
yourself as already being aproductive Mama is important
because how we see ourselvesversus how we operate is really
important because if you seeyourself as not productive,
you're already going to be in adifferent frequency from an
energetic standpoint versuslike, today's going to be the

(06:15):
best day I'm gonna get a lot ofshit done. I'm gonna feel good
doing it right. Like when youset the tone, your frequency
really will mirror what you tellyour brain. You want it to
mirror so like for example, eventoday, this is gonna go run
right on the bed, so I'm notgonna fold that. That doesn't
make sense. That doesn't makesense. Anyways, to this morning,

(06:37):
I was like, I was hyping myselfup I was like, exactly what I
just said, today's gonna be agood day. I'm gonna get a lot
done. I'm in a good mood, but Ilike I decided to be in a good
mood. I put on lashes for thefirst time in what feels like
forever. I put on a lipstick,lipstick. Like I haven't done

(06:59):
that in a too long. Like I I'm agirly girl, I love makeup, I
love clothes, and her now havingtwo kids, especially during
these winter months. I feel likeit's been sickness after
sickness. And I just I honestlyhave not had the energy to do

(07:19):
all the extra stuff like makeup.
So it just hasn't happened asmuch as I would like it to. So
all of these things I decidedlike I decided it was going to
be a good day, I decided Iwanted to get a lot done today I
decided to be in a good mood. Idecided to put makeup on like,
and it was an incrediblyproductive happy feel good day,
because I decided so like beforewe even make a to do list and do

(07:42):
anything on set to do list. Itis really really important for
you to decide and really putthat energy forth. From there.
You doing a brain dump ofeverything that you would love
to get done is huge. Thencomparing it to what small mom

(08:02):
cracks have time do you havetoday? Do you have right after
you drop the kids off for likean hour? Do
you have naptime? Do you havesnack time? Do you have car
pickup time? Do you have a hugeblock of time? With childcare?
Do you have your lunch break?
Because you work during the dayfor somebody else? Right? Like

(08:24):
you really looking at? When canwe do what? From the bait brain
dump? Will before you doanything set you up for massive
success. So we set you up formassive success from an
energetic standpoint. Okay, thenwe set you up for success from a
structure schedule standpoint.

(08:46):
And again, we haven't doneanything yet. Right. And then
from there, it is what works sowell for me, and you get to play
around with what works well foryou is like timers. So like it
is without fail, I will wear myApple watch every single day
like I almost feel naked withoutit. Like I joke that this is my

(09:06):
boss. So I have multiple alarmson here. I'll set reminders.
With Siri, I will literally likeany notification. I shouldn't
say any notification onlycertain notifications come
through here. And there like themost important notifications
right. So like this is my boss,my Apple Watch is my boss. It

(09:26):
runs my day to be productive andit's so helpful. And even just
knowing what the time is, isreally helpful. So I don't have
to go find my phone. I don'thave to look for a clock. That
may sound really silly but itdoes take up time it does take
up energy. So this has been hugeand then really breaking down

(09:47):
that brain dump into like, Okay, what is the number one thing
that's going to move my knee mybusiness forward today? Making
sure I always do a needle moveris what I call it and some
Things self care based. So Ialways want to be taking care of
myself. And sometimes it's goingto be big and extreme. Like

(10:08):
today it was putting on makeup.
That's not an everyday thing.
But that wasn't like my selfcare today. And so something
self care based and somethingessentially sales based, right?
Because sales and self care whenwe put them together is like the
Holy freaking grail for businessgrowth, aka you making more
money, right. And when we canmake more money for you, it will

(10:32):
really knock down any and allfor the most part barriers that
you have. Like if you reallythink about going all in with
you making more money andmanaging your money, of course,
but you going all in and makingmore money, I bet could almost
create this domino effect foreverything else that you desire.
Like almost your whole entirewish list can be knocked down by

(10:57):
you focusing more each and everyday on you making more money.
And that does not always meanmore time. This whole episode is
about you working smarter, notharder. You could work the same
amount of time and either makethe same exact money. But it'd
be easier, right? Like you workfrom home versus having to drive

(11:18):
in, or you work the same amountof time. But you make 20% more
or you work less and you makemore, right? Like, we want to
really analyze that verystrategically. Because being
productive. The goal is that wedon't keep filling time with
more things. It's so you canlive right? It's so you can take
care of you take care of yourfamily, like get back to living

(11:42):
versus working your life away.
It actually makes me very sadhow many hours most adults spend
working before they retire toenjoy, potentially, like 11
years, and your kids are alreadygrown up. Your body is much
older, right? Like, let's getlet's get a whole new way of

(12:02):
being very much trending.
Because I think 11 years 11potential years is just total BS
with the normal retirement age.
And there is a different way.
And that's what we're all aboutat the wealthy mama movement is
paving a different way thatactually feels good to you now,

(12:24):
and in the future. It gets to beabove and I'll never forget, I
had breakfast with somebody awhile ago. And they were so
excited to retire and they had acountdown and it was still like
five years away. And they had acountdown because they were so
miserable. And I rememberfeeling really sad for that
person. And also like hmm, interesting that they think that

(12:44):
that's the only option. Likethere are so many options,
especially in 2024. So that'sanother episode for another day.
But timers are huge. AppleWatches huge. I wanted to give
you some things that you're notmaybe thinking of. So co working
even if it's virtual, or inperson with one other person is

(13:09):
huge. This in the ADHDcommunity. This is called body
dial to each other. You're bothbeing productive together. And
it really, really is huge. It'ssaying that I have a low
connection. Let's go. I have somany internet challenges, and
I'm not going to let it drive mecrazy. But it drives me a little

(13:29):
crazy. We're gonna move on, andwe're not gonna give it our
energy. But I'm like, Come on,keep up with me. Keep up with me
internet. If anyone knows a morereliable internet, because it's
not just at my home, it's likeeverywhere I go. So if you know
any mobile, reliable internet, Ihave a very great top internet

(13:52):
or mobile company that we do ourphones through, but It shocks me
how many challenges I have witha slow connection. So we'll try
this. Hopefully it works. Butcoworking body doubling will
change your life. I'm literallydoing a session with somebody
tomorrow. And I already have myto do list done. So like my

(14:14):
brain dump for the day, I'mgetting in the right energy. I
already know what I'm going toeat for lunch, like it's a whole
day of body doubling. And Icould not be more excited
because there's been some thingson my list that I'm like, I just
want this gone. Right likethings that have been on your
list, imagine them gettingeliminated, right? Like it's so

(14:35):
important to get those thingsoff of our list because they
start to weigh on you and thatdoes drain your energy and
therefore drains yourproductivity. So co working. I
want to do more of it. Even ifit's virtual it. I love co
working with my team. I love coworking with other peers like I
love co working with even myclients. I've done that a lot

(14:58):
over all the years So schedule,a two hour block, at least with
another person, like I've hadwhere our kids are playing, and
we're working at home, like, allof it is great. So like that, I
guarantee you most likely arenot maximizing that productivity
hack. You doing that once a weekwould skyrocket your

(15:21):
productivity, like skyrocketyour productivity. So that's all
I'm gonna say about that. If youhave any questions on body
doubling and co working, hit meup in the DMS would happy, I'd
be happy to answer morequestions. But at the end of the
day, it's it's two or morepeople working together, even
quietly to get their tasks done, you can collaborate and

(15:43):
brainstorm together. But mybiggest piece of advice is set
the set the tone before becausesometimes when there aren't
those boundaries, it can turninto like a social session. And
then somebody especially like anintrovert is dying inside
because they thought it wasgoing to be like study hall
quiet time. And then there'sChatty Cathy just like chatting

(16:04):
it up, and then no one getsanything done. So set the
expectations ahead of time. Ifthere's like 15 minutes of
social time, then it's like getto work time or there's timers,
right like, depending on whoyou're with just just keep each
other in check. Because you thegoal is that you leave feeling

(16:25):
like you've accomplished whatyou wanted to accomplish. With
that being said, bulking taskstogether is huge. So do all of
your content creation. At thesame time, do all of your email
checks at the same time, doproduct development all at the
same time. And I know thatthat's not always ideal when you

(16:45):
have small mom cracks of time, however, you could say for the
whole day, anytime that you havetime is going to be all about
product development, or all daywhen you have time is going to
be all about, you know, cleaningyour house. Because this is not
just business tasks, this isyour life too. So even if you

(17:06):
don't have the reality, becauseI get that meet me too. If you
don't have the reality to sitdown for eight hours at a time,
you can designate the day to bethe theme is bulk, you know
accomplishing a certain type oftask, and your brain will still
stay in that energy, your bodywill stay in that energy, and it

(17:27):
will help so you don't feel likeyou're like Ping Pong Ping all
over the place. And you're like,Okay, now I'm over here checking
emails. Now I'm over here, doingproduct development. Now I'm
over here, content creation, like most brains really do not
thrive in that type of flow.
It's not even a flow. It's, it'sjust you're all over the place,
and you're doing it to yourself.

(17:48):
So we do want to have some plansand have some themes, because it
will help your energy stay justmore in true flow. Okay, so bulk
creating tasks together. AnytimeI'm driving, and I think of
something, I'll say, Hey, Siri,I hope it doesn't do it.

(18:09):
Set an alarm for such and such.
And that alone has been huge formy productivity, and also
keeping me safe, becauseobviously I don't want to
forget. And if I can't write itdown, then I start to get
anxious. So I just go ahead andmake it an alarm on my phone.
When I know I'm not going to bedriving. So if I can't even do
it. It's a great reminder oflike, hey, write this on your to

(18:31):
do list or do this when you dohave time. So that has been huge
for me. And then a few otherones. I'm like giving you rapid
fire here, giving you everythingI've got, rewards are huge. And
I do believe rewards can bebefore, during and after.
Because we don't want to get inthe mindset of you only get

(18:51):
rewarded when you do thingsbecause then it starts your
worth starts to becomecontingent on you doing
something. So I love like alittle reward before a little
reward during and of course areward after this is great for
your energy because you're likeokay, I've got some you know,
momentum. Now I'm going to dothe thing, I maybe get something

(19:13):
during right and then I getsomething after and rewards
don't have to be anythingexpensive. It can literally be
you're rewarding yourself withwatching your favorite TV show
during or you're rewardingyourself with doing your makeup
or if you do want to buysomething and it makes sense,
then you totally can do that.

(19:34):
But rewards are just making itenjoyable. At the end of the day
rewards to me are makinganything and everything fun and
enjoyable. Like today. Iliterally wore a cowgirl hat
while I was cleaning my home andno one was home but I just
thought it was funny. It wasenjoyable. I ended up recording

(19:55):
a couple of videos. I wasn'tplanning on doing that. And that
is the big thing I want you totake way from this episode is,
when you actually make thingsenjoyable one, you're you're
vibing on such a high frequencythat you're going to do other
tasks that may or not may or maynot be on your to do list, which

(20:15):
will already make you moreproductive, you're going to
enjoy yourself more, which inthe future is going to make you
more productive. So you nothustling and grinding is the
most important thing. And Ithink that there is a big
misconception of when you arebeing productive. you're

(20:36):
hustling and grinding to me isput your head down, get to work,
whether you like it or not, whether you want to do it or
not, don't make it enjoyable.
Work, work, work, work work, you'll sleep when you're dead
type of vibe. Like it's a recipefor burnout. And a lot of people
use it as a badge of honor. Andit does not mean that other

(20:57):
people that are not subscribingto the hustle and grind aren't
putting an effort aren't workingtheir butts off, right? It's,
you're subscribing to the eastflow fun, is what I call it. So
I still put in a lot of hours, Iwill not be SEO like, even with
a passive based business withthe direction that we're

(21:19):
heading. I'm putting I'mcranking in some hours. But it's
all with ease, flow and fun, Inever worked myself to the point
where I'm exhausted, I never dosomething in a way that does not
feel good to me. I take tons ofbreaks, I ask for help. Like
it's a whole different way ofbeing. And I really want to

(21:39):
share that message more and moreand more. Because I don't want
to create a false sense ofreality that's like, oh, Nellie
is not doing anything. Right, like she's just working 15
minutes a day. And that is justnot the truth. And to me, when
you love what you do, you're notworried about the hours, you're,

(22:01):
you are getting so muchfulfillment, from everything
that you're doing, every oneyou're around, that is just
icing on the cake that youhappen to get paid more and more
and more. And the big, the bigpayment is you enjoying what you
do, and a lot of people don't,don't always get that

(22:23):
opportunity, and they don'tcreate that opportunity for
themselves. And so the fact thatI genuinely love what I do, it
feels really good, likenaturally feels really good, is
a big blessing. And I don't takeit for granted. And so the vibe
is totally different than if Iwere working 80 hours a week in
a cubicle in a job that I don'tbelieve in would It would feel

(22:46):
so different. And equally, if Ididn't work at all, and I only
stayed home. And I say only withthe most love because it is a
full time job within itself. ButI would feel a sense of sadness,
because I'm a creator, I'm aconnector, like, I want to be

(23:07):
around other people I want tocreate. It's like my art, right.
And so when an artist doesn'tget to paint, a piece of them is
like dying inside. So I knewthat from the very, very
beginning before we had kids,like I'm a creator, I'm a
connector, I want to be doingthings. And so now I've been
able to engineer it in a waythat is not at the expense of my

(23:28):
self care, my family, my energy, like I've, I finally have gotten
to that, that beautiful balance.
And balance doesn't always meanit's perfect or, you know, I
don't mess up or any of thosethings. But balance just means
more harmony. That's a betterword. There's more harmony. And

(23:50):
that is it does take time, itdoes take trial and error, but
everyone can get there. So mylast piece of advice is really
just looking at your currentreality and what feels hard.
Like, because if you feel likethings feel hard, they probably

(24:11):
do. And that's the first biggestbang for your buck. Like be more
productive, make things easier, make things more enjoyable with
your current day to day and thatalone will make you more
productive because you're takingthe stress and the pressure and
the negative energy away. And itwill feel completely different

(24:33):
even if it's the same amount ofhours. You enjoying it you
making it easier. You reallylooking at it in a different way
automating delegating, rightbulking tasks together, like
just some restructuring, right?
We're just going to rearrange alittle bit. We'll make it feel
so much better for you. So thatis like my last piece of advice.

(24:55):
I have so many other things thatI want to talk to you about. but
those are like the biggies. AndI really want you to starting to
think about working smarter, notharder. People say it all the
time, like work smarter, notharder. But that's at the core
of what a passive incomebusiness is. You can be having
clients and have a passiveincome based business, because

(25:17):
of how smart you're working, right. And you could be creating
products, digital products fromclients that you have, right?
Like, I have worked with womenprivately for years, which
literally is helping me createmy passive products. So I've
been taking all of those privateconversations, and saying, Okay,

(25:39):
there's a theme here, right?
Like, when so many women come tome, and start to say certain
things, I'm like this, this is athing, right? Like, I need to
solve this for more people. Andthat's when I create digital
products, right. And so althoughI'm not taking on any more one

(25:59):
on one clients, I have all ofthose memories, all of those
years of hours that I put intoone on one calls, group calls,
in person events, retreats. LikeI couldn't even add up the hours
that I've spent with women inprivate containers like it, I
don't even know how to add itup, it would be the it would be

(26:20):
an incorrect number. Like it'sjust that many hours. And so
anything and everything thatyou're doing right now, you can
already have a passive incomebased business with how you're
looking at your business, fromyour passive marketing, to your
products that you're youcurrently have that you're

(26:41):
developing, like,I really want to get you in a
very strategic brain, I am allabout the whoo and the energy.
And I back that up with a lot ofscience, a lot of data, a lot of
strategy, I love them together, right? Like, they're almost like
the two besties like that those, you know, that like best friend
goal where you're like, damn, they're just a power, dynamic

(27:03):
duo. That's what the Whoo. Andthe work is all about. Like
fusing it together, everyoneworking on the same team,
working smarter, not harder.
Really already thinking of yourbusiness as a passive based
business, passive income basedbusiness, and starting to lay

(27:23):
the groundwork now is the bestthing that you can do. And I'll
keep talking about it. And I'llkeep helping you. And I'll keep
motivating you. Because it isyou will thank yourself, like
you laying the groundwork. Whenyou do have a day job, you
laying the groundwork, when youalready have clients, you laying
the groundwork, when you havethese small, small mom cracks of

(27:44):
time, like, you will thankyourself like, I am so glad I
have done everything that I'vedone thus far. With small
children. It's been hard attimes, it's been challenging at
times. But when my kids areolder, I'll already have such a
strong foundation of a businessthat I don't have to start,

(28:05):
right. Like, I don't have tostart from ground zero when
they're older. My kids arealways going to need me it
doesn't matter their age, they're always going to need
their mom. So me just making useof my time. Now I'm working as
hard as I can, and not harderand enjoying life now. And in
the future. Right. It's a wholeway of being. And I just want to

(28:27):
get more and more women in thisuniverse, because it's a whole
vibe. And anyone that wants itcan have it. It's just simply
deciding and then movingaccordingly. And that's where I
come in. So we have lots ofthings coming in wealthy mama
movement, if you want to becomea sponsor, if you need

(28:48):

are building things, for thisnext phase, hold on one second,
Emma. I would love yourfeedback. So if you're like oh
my gosh, Nellie, are you guysworking on this? Or could you

(29:32):
