Maresa Roach, with her radiant smile and vibrant personality, is a beacon of positivity. Despite a past marred by hardship and disappointment, she transformed her life through faith and determination. As a teenager, she struggled with self-esteem issues and dropped out of high school. However, at 42, she returned to education, earning her high school diploma and later a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of District Columbia.
In 2022, Maresa became a best-selling author on Amazon with her book anthology “Faith for Fiery Trials: Volume III,” where she shares her journey from trauma to triumph. Her faith, she says, carried her through the fire unscathed. In 2024 Best Selling Author, The Blueprint of a ThriveHER: From Surviving to Thriving, God's Faithfulness Fruit: Walking Through the Fields of Grace and Mercy in Bloom.
Maresa’s strength lies in her ability to empathize with those in pain and her commitment to her community. She has a special place in her heart for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, mental health issues, substance use disorders, and homelessness. Her past experiences have made her a beacon of hope for those in need.
Maresa, born in Lorain, Ohio, works as a Youth Engagement Specialist and Resident Service Coordinator in the District of Columbia. She addresses mental health, substance abuse, and social deterrents. She is a living testament to the power of transformation—turning shame into shine.
Her community service and career as a change agent are extensive, including work with Sasha Bruce Youthwork, Christian Tabernacle Church of God, House of Ruth, and more. She has served seniors, volunteered for So Others May Eat (SOME), and even earned a service-learning trip to Cape Town, South Africa while pursuing a Master of Social Work at Howard University. Maresa truly embodies the spirit of service and transformation.
