Elouan takes shelter in the barn of a peasant boy’s family while he searches for his father. The strangeness of his personality and odd abilities baffles most of the household, while enchanting their eighteen year-old daughter. The depth of his arcane skills are brought to bear when a pair of roaming priests attempt to bribe indulgences from the city’s populace to transition one’s deceased loved one from purgatory into Heaven. Meanwhile, it seems many people are becoming sick with a strange new illness.
