Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the
podcast.
Thanks for joining me.
I know it's been a long timesince our last episode and
Father Stephen and I still needto release our last episode on
Mary.
Hopefully we can do that soonand start to keep everyone or
leave everyone hanging on thatthat it's a little bit
(00:23):
unscripted today.
What's been going on?
Okay, well, I'll start with mom.
I've written this kind ofupdate a few times now, and
every time I'm getting ready totry to release it, things would
change.
So at first, you know, mom wasdoing really well and then her
(00:46):
health began to decline and then, kind of as things often do it,
her health deteriorated reallyquickly and she went to sleep
one afternoon and she couldn'twake up.
And so I drove down to ourfamily home where she's been
living with and being cared forby my brothers, and we made her
(01:07):
as comfortable as we could whileshe slept and just kept vigil
with her.
She did.
Finally, she woke up brieflyafter about four days or so, but
you could tell that somethinghad happened and she wasn't able
to move or speak.
So she just looked up at uswith tired, loving eyes and um,
(01:33):
in in that moments.
Um, I guess it was about anhour.
While she was awake, family andfriends who could, and we
gathered around, kissed her, youknow, loved on her, talked with
her, made phone calls quicklyto people who weren't there so
they had a chance to tell herhow, how loved she was.
Um, and, like I said, it lastedabout an hour or so and she
(01:54):
fell back asleep and, um, shewould.
Ultimately she passed away, uh,shortly after um, within a day
or so.
So there's obviously a lot tocontemplate and unpack with mom
and I know I can learn some verypowerful lessons from it.
(02:16):
And, um, you know, maybe maybeit's selfish or just cathartic
for me to do any episodes aboutit, but I think most people in
the world have dealt with loss, the loss of a loved one, or they
will someday ultimately.
So maybe we can all learn somereally good lessons from it.
(02:37):
So I pray, if we do that thoseepisodes are helpful for
everyone who listens.
You know it's anything thatstems from this experience.
So, please, I want to encourageeveryone to pray for her and
pray for the repose of her soul, pray for my family and my
brothers who cared for her thebest they could while she was at
(02:59):
home and, just, you know, prayfor the Lord's goodness and His
healing and His love.
I know that podcastdistribution around the world is
kind of delayed.
Some people seem to get thingsinstantly and it takes days or
even weeks to get there.
So her mom's funeral sorry, herrosary is going to be Friday,
(03:26):
may 2nd.
So if you, wherever you are inthe world, if you'd like to join
our rosary for her, just say aquick prayer for her.
We would appreciate it.
Her funeral is on May 3rd.
Um, yeah, god is good.
God is really good.
On top of all that, these lastcouple months I found out I have
(03:56):
cancer, and so that's beenchallenging as well.
But glory to Jesus Christ, andI mean it.
He, god is so good, he is sogood and his goodness just
overflows in my life.
So, um, the diagnosis is very, very good for it, so I'm not
(04:22):
concerned any more than I needto be.
Um, and my family's taking itwell, so so, like I said, god is
good, but we've got we've hadgood things happening the last
few months too.
Um, my daughter's graduatingfrom high school, she's going to
college, just so many, uh,great things are happening.
(04:42):
So that's it.
I know this is short.
I just wanted to kind of fillin this gap in episodes and
really to just petition everyone, to the people who you love
(05:03):
Don't miss those opportunitiesto tell them you love them, hug
them and kiss them and pray for,to pray for me and my family.
So, thank you, and I can't waitto see you next time.
God bless.
