Speaker 1 (00:43):
Good evening everyone. Welcome to the New Heights Show on education.
My name is Manya Shuplin and you are with me
on the another episode of Empowering HR within the Workforce.
You go to podcast for the ever HR. This podcast
is the way of sharing insights on building a more
(01:04):
effective and efficient workforce while also focusing on your personal growth.
If you tune into our previous episode, thank you so
much for your support. We talked about how to react
when someone makes mistake. If you missed it, be sure
(01:24):
to check it out. My dear listeners, change is something
which is constant. Sometimes it is within our favor, sometimes
it is not. But the good thing about change is
it gives you an opportunity to explore, to explore different
(01:50):
alternatives when it is not in your favor. I just
want to share one incident from my from my personal experience.
At the time of COVID nineteen, career wise, things were
not going in the in the right direction, but I
kept on applying on different platforms. I kept on adding
(02:16):
recruiters to my network, I updated my skills and doing
all the things just to keep me at pace. And
one day I got a call for the position of
COVID nineteen response frontline case investigator. I founded a portuity
to be very good and I accepted the offer joining
(02:38):
the team. I gave my one hundred percent exploring, exploring
different opportunities, which which aren't like like I just explored
different apportunities. I participated in their uh uh presentations, training sessions,
and all that experience gave me a very good clarity
(03:03):
and a very good dimension in my thought process. And
with the help of that experience, I got my I
got my next job in my career. And today I'm
going to talk about how to maintain your resilience at
the time of change. And before I begin, I just
(03:27):
wanted to mention that I have listed down all the
websites from where I took help to to create this episode.
So let's see how psychology defines resilience. So, according to
psychology today, psychologists define resilience as the process of adapting
(03:51):
well in the face in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy,
threat or significant sources of such as family and relationship problems,
serious health problems, or work or financial stressors. As much
as resilience involves bouncing back from these difficult experiences, it
(04:18):
can also involve profound personal growth, and resilience is not
necessarily a personal trait. It involves behavior, thoughts, and actions
that can be developed. Now, let's see what are the
seven c's that can help you to build your resilience
(04:40):
at the time at tough times. Number one is competence,
So it means building a strong foundation of your skills.
Continue to upgrade your skills and continue to learn. Engage
(05:01):
with things that will boost your problem solving skills and
the skills that will be helpful for your solid comeback. Also,
it is good to develop skills during this change period
that will help you to grow personally as well. Number
two is confidence. It means self belief. Work on your
(05:26):
improvement points, work on your weaknesses, but never question your
self worth. Believe in your ability and trust yourself that
you will overcome this obstacle. Celebrate small wins, think rejections
as a learning experience, learn from your mistakes and keep
(05:47):
moving in the right direction. The third one I have
here is connections. Now, building relationship is a crucial part
of life, of your life and being a social being.
This thing is something which comes natural to us, like
(06:09):
for most of us, build a strong support system. Share
your feelings with your loved ones. If you're looking for
a job, expend your network in your professional space, and
don't hesitate to seek out help if you need. If
you need that, you know I need some help. I
(06:31):
need some professional help, just just ask for it. The
fourth one I have here is character. So this reflects
this ce reflects your value and ethics. This will help
you in making some difficult decisions at some difficult time.
(06:57):
Embrace the tough time. Sorry, embrace the tough time or
changes with dignity and grace. Do into respect and understand
your core values before making any decision in difficult time.
Don't don't make this decision in like in hussle, and
(07:20):
don't fall into something which you will regret later in
your life. Now, before we move forward, let's take a
quick break. We will be back soon.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Welcome back listeners. So prior to prior to the break,
we discussed four c's which is which are competence, confidence,
connections and character. Now let's discuss the fifth one which
is contribution. So this shows like how you're contributing to
(08:57):
the society, like what is your purpose uh and what
are the things that you are going for the so
that you are doing for the society and can do
for the society. And if you think then this see
will also let you uh will also help you in
(09:18):
defining like what is the like why you are doing
this or what is the purpose of your life? And
so engage engage in some activities for the betterment of
the society. Volunteer, help others or learn something that can
help the world. And doing something good for the world
(09:41):
will give you strength in difficult times and will also
motivate you to overcome problems in your journey. The sixth
one I have here is coping, So this is for
building strategies for coping management, for coping mechanism during a stress. Again,
(10:03):
your health is your first priority. When you are healthy,
both physically and mentally, only then you are going to
achieve what you are looking for. So start practicing mindfulness,
start writing down things and delegating things and ask for
help if needed. Take good sleep and rest, eat good
(10:26):
and exercise. Additionally, I would also like to add into
this is think about your near and dear ones. Also
take the steps that will make them feel good in
these difficult times. Don't do anything which can create more
problems for them. I remember when I wasn't getting jobs
(10:49):
and getting rejections, I used to come back home and
cry a lot and get really upset and started being alone,
which eventually we started affecting my relationship with my partner.
And one day I just realized that my partner doesn't
(11:12):
deserve these things, and I decided, Like from then, I
decided that whatever the problem I have, I will not
let them hamper my relationships or the environment of the house,
and from that day, all the warries, rejections or anything negative,
(11:33):
I keep them at my doorstep, and I enter the
house without any baggage, smiling and looking forward to make
some good lifetime memories. Now, in this I'm not saying
not to share things with your loved ones. Do share things,
but don't take them for granted, and don't behave badly
(11:56):
with them just because you're frustrated or just because things
are not going according to you. They don't deserve it,
so treat them nicely and treat them also with dignity.
The seventh one is the last one, the last see
(12:17):
which is control. So identify and taking charge of things
which you can control. So what you can control, you
can control your mindset, you can control your thoughts, you
can control your behavior, actions, choices, reactions and decisions. By
(12:38):
focusing on these, you can strengthen our You can strengthen
the you know, you can strengthen the resilience and build
a strong, solid foundation to face the tough times. Yes,
there are some things which are not in our control,
so just don't don't worry so much about them. Just
(13:02):
focus on what you can control. So, yes, these are
the These are the seven scenes which which I wanted
to discuss in this episode. So I hope it this
episode helped you in some way and I hope that
you liked the episode. Have a great weekend.
