Steve Jobs has a wonderful commencement address to the 2005 graduating class of Stanford University where he talks about "connecting the dots [of your life] looking back." His central point is that the interconnectedness of life only makes sense in the rearview mirror, but it should equally give us confidence as we navigate the uncertainty that lies ahead.
