Speaker 4 (01:36):
I don't know if we're gonna be laughing on Monday
when we rejoined, gentlemen, Because I do believe the Texans
are in trouble, I will tell you why. More importantly,
I will tell you how they can circumvent the trouble
that they're in and come back down from Wisconsin with
a w We had some National League excuse me, you
had lead Championship Series in action last night where we

(02:00):
visit that Rockets beat US Spurs team that had no
desire to play basketball at Toyota Center last night, the
final preseason game. Next time we see the Rockets in action,
it'll be for the real thing. Wednesday night opener at
Toyota Center. My Charlotte Hornets in town will skip through that. Oh,
major news in college basketball broke my heart. We'll see

(02:24):
if some tentacle stretch here to the state of Texas.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Sport Virginia is good at they lost their best life.
You keep saying that, but I keep saying that matters.
I keep sending you your lacrosse year after year. I'm
not getting into this with you.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Final line is Tony Bennett's national championship head coach. Now
do you know, for the first time since eighty one
eighty two in men's college basketball, there's not a single
coach that has a national title on his resume.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
All of the greats have left the game.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Do you think that's at it feels like it's nil
at all the stuff. That's what some are saying, it's
all like compounded. I think Tony Bennett has had some
health things in the past.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I think it could. Now what makes me think is
not just portal.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
We're less than three weeks from college basketball, so I.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Would I hate to say, yeah, you hope it's health
or something personal related, but like that's what it would
have to because you're, yeah, you're three weeks from tipping
off the season, and you, dude, you couldn't make the
decision in April.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Give it them enough time to go search for another question.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
It sucks a former Longhorns head coach could be on
the radar for my University of Virginia Cavaliers men's program.
Where will peruse the landscape there on the other side.
All right, so let's do this. Let's start here Week
seven Underway, and we'll get going to stop laughing here.

(03:51):
Week seven NFL Underway Saints were a dog to bow Knicks.
Rookie quarterback coming into New Orleans Super Dome, Caesars super Dome,
Drew Brees going into the Saints Hall of Fame, right yep,
And I saw you put on a black, very nice
black jacket, and there Sean Payton returning, and several former

(04:13):
Saints assistants now current Bronco assistants returning, and everybody's turned.
There was a lunch in the honor Drew Brees on
Wednesday and on Thursday during the day or something. And
so last night, Week seven, going to that game was
a thud. It was hard to watch rookie Spencer Ratler
for the Saints going up against rookie Bowl Knicks you

(04:36):
had a lot of the stars were out of the game.
No Patrick Surtain for the Broncos, no Alive for.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
The Saints, Kamara did play.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
Season and surgery, Taysom Hill, Derek Carr, and just it
was an ugly ball game. Saints get absolutely shellac And
so there we are to start Week seven. Is there
anything that you would like to add before we get
into it. Yeah, no, it's it's it's a fascinating conversation.
Somebody tweet this. I've said, I said this in the
off season here on the show. I said, the NFL

(05:11):
has a backup quarterback problem, Like it is bad. It
is really bad. And they the amount of injuries. It's
not just like we have a couple of injuries every year.
We have massive injuries every year in the NFL. Big
name stars go out for the for the season, or
for multiple weeks or months.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
And the it's in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
You lose your star linebacker, you have a decent linebacker
behind them who could serve, who could serve as a backup.
But there is such a massive drop off in this
league from a star quarterback or even you know, mid
tier quarterback to the backup. And it's it's a horrible product.
I said, somebody tweet out less night like this is
this is the even one fun to watch it, and

(05:52):
somebody said tweet it and they're like, well, yeah, but
you getta be saying that in February and March, when
it's like, oh, you gotta wait months till football see
you eight months from the football season to be here
enjoy it. It's like they need to do something because
even in college stand it feels like in college the
backup quarterbacks can still execute so better than what these
backup quarterbacks in the end of that, Saints had no

(06:14):
chance of Spencer Rava leading them on a scoring drive
last night.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
It was even with Alvin Kamara out there, it just didn't.
The offense, they're just not there. I believe he had
coached Dennis Allen, Sean Payton's former decoordinator, his last days
there in New Orleans.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
I think he's in trouble. But I said that's the
same thing here. Like if CJ. Stroudward go down, God
forbid nothing. As Davis Mills, I just have zero faith
in him being able to. Now, hopefully everybody could rise
above it and Joe Mixon can run harder, and you know,
the defense could play lights out and all that, but
it would be hard. If you're a Texas fan, it
would feel emotionally like the season's over.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Stroud woard to go down.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Stroud went down, and they won a game last year, barely,
but they got embarrassed in another one.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
But it's just this this league, I don't know what
it is. And I guess saying this is why everybody's
well to trade up for first round draft pick quarterbacks
and we'll see a quarterback go one, two, three, four
the draft every year. It's just it's so bad to
drop off from starter to backup.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
And that's why guys like Dak Prescott makes sixty million
dollars a year, because when you're a starting quarterback in
this league, it doesn't matter what your statistics are. There
are so few that are capable and qualified and competent
enough to go out there Sunday after Sunday and start.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
That's just starters.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Like I don't think people fully understand how challenging it
is to play quarterback in this league. It's it's not
and from I keep telling you all this, Saturday and
Sunday is two different games. They have some similar attributes
two different games. A couple things from Sean Payton. Sean
Payton has now won a game against all thirty two
teams in the league. Now that he has defeated his
previous employer, Sean Payton two twenty point losses in the

(07:55):
super Dome his entire coaching career in New Orleans. Dennis
Allen has two twenty point eight A whippings in the
last five days. Dennis Allen with the Saints, he has.

Speaker 6 (08:08):
More.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
He has.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Let me say this straight, seven two game losing streaks.
He only has six two game winning streaks. He has
three three game losing streaks. He only has won three
game winning streaks. That's not necessarily something you want on
your roster.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
But you know what.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
You know what sucks about that, though, is when shawnas
when Seawn Payton retired quote unquote and went to go
do TV for a year, you know what he did.
He stood on the podium and went, Dennis Allen is
the man for this job.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Of course he sold him on that crap. Get that
out here.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
That's his guy. He wants to see his guy. Get
guy sucks retread.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
I remember I had this rent less offseason the retread
coaches suck ass. They ninety percent of the time. They
all fail. The retread head coach, stop hiring retreads, got
hires somebody fresh.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
If you think the Saints have a bright future, my
man Jason at over the cap he excuse me, he
reminds us the Saints only have three players on their
roster who would save the team more than three million
dollars in cap room next year if they were cut.
Their current twenty twenty five salary cap position is worse

(09:19):
in the the worst in the NFL. I'll get it
correct in a second, seventy five million dollars more in
cap commitments than the next worst team. So the Saints
have a cap problem, and they have a coaching problem,
and they may have a quarterback problem.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Don't know.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
So that's how Week seven, thirty three to ten, Broncos
beat the Saints. Bo knicks, you if any face that
Broncos team. The the defense is good, the defense is
all right. They got a couple guys again with Patrick
Soutain's absence. Bo Knicks to me, is just so inconsistent.
His footwork is all over the place. When he's composed,
locked in, standing tall in the pocket and even Drew Brees.

(09:58):
They interviewed Drew Brees during the broadcast and Drew was like, yeah,
his good is good, but essentially he's bad.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
He's got a lot to work on. Good runner.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Uh, definitely athletic enough to make some plays. Saints have
some injuries. There's some people saying, like in the case
of uh not lested or who I want to say
over there?

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Who's that that coin over there? Marcus Ladham?

Speaker 4 (10:21):
There's something there are some people saying, is that a
real hamstring injury? I don't know. The Broncos don't play
the Texas this year. That's how I was gonna bring
it back home. That's a team at four and three.
You could see them in the Walkcart game because.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
Because there's the thing, the Texans, you got to get
the best record in football to get the buy right,
and that's probably best reckon in the As. It's probably
gonna be the Chiefs. So Texans are likely to be
playing on Walkcar weekend. That's a team you could see here.
Advance Joseph former Texans d Beast coach. He's a damn
good defensive coordinator. He's got that That defense is flying

(10:58):
the minute they put the ball in Kamara's hand.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
Crash, crash, I mean just yeah, to your pointing, we
got to get out of here. Let's talk Texans on
the other side. Uh seven one three two one two
five seven ninety. To your point, if the playoffs were
to begin this weekend, last night's Denver Broncos, led by
rookie bow Knicks, would make their way to NRG Stadium
in a seven to two matchup in the wild calling
and see that, I just thought it my head on

(11:21):
last So you got Texans in the two spot, Baltimore
in the three hole. There's Buffalo at four, Pittsburgh get five,
charges at six, and again Broncos at seven. That will
change as it is a good weekend International Football League.
All right, let's hear from the coordinators and the injury
report is out. We will be joined by UH Packers

(11:43):
and Pro Football Hall of Famer the Roy Butler's gonna
drop by. He does a lot of media covering. The
Packers want to go behind enemy lines. Lots of stuff
to do. Seven one three two one two five seven ninety.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Next stop.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
And back up, now down door Plates and Chris Gordyons
next up on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 7 (12:10):
That's done a really good job of structuring the offense
and coaching the quarterback to like get the ball to
where it's supposed to go. Right, you have a coverage,
there's the answer, balls.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Out to it quick.

Speaker 7 (12:19):
So I think it sort of almost leans back into
our saying, like, man, we've just got to run our
defense and play our coverages right and be tight when
we need to be tight or be off or we
need to be off for whatever that is. So that yeah,
because you're not just focusing on we got to take
a guy out or anything like that. That's obviously not
the case. They're all really good players.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Out Its defensive coordinator by title, Matt Birth took to
the podium yesterday, as did the other two core coordinators respectively.
Staying offle Gordon hanging out. Let's talk some Texans here
in the seven ninety studio Matt Bird had he and
Demiko Ryans, more so Demiko. They have their work cut
out for them. That's a really good Green Bay Packers offense.

(13:05):
They're rolling. What did I see? Jordan Love four touchdowns
in back to back games since he has returned four
touchdowns passing since he has returned from injury. And oh,
by the way, they got a dude named Josh Jacobs
in the back. Excuse me, I got it, goes. He's
pretty good Josh Jacobs. Let's see, Josh Jacobs is averaging

(13:30):
four point three yards per carry on the season, He's
only got one touchdown and by the way, his first
year in Green Bay. Josh Jacobs coming over from the Raiders.
Obviously some of you have him in your fantasy and
I understand why you do. He's yet to score at Lamba,
so I'm sure he's chomping at the bit to do
a Lambeau leap. Hopefully that won't be on Sunday. But

(13:51):
if you go back and look at you know, Josh
Jacobs five point six seven yards per carry versus that
Minnesota defense in loss, four point seventy two yards per
carry versus the Indianapolis Coat which we saw Joe Mixon
rip them up week one in uh Sal Paulo Brazil
versus the Eagles Josh Jacobs five point twenty five yards

(14:13):
per carre. Listen, this is just my opinion. Josh Jacobs.
If they get him going and they can play action
off of him, it's gonna be a long day. For
the Houston Texans. I went to bed last night and
I woke up this morning gor to going, how does
Domico pull this off? And there's gotta be away. I'll

(14:36):
tell you what I think he in a little bit.
But when I start just at the personnel at the
disposal of Matt Lafleur making play calls this This is
a tall task for the Texans, bro and we've seen
the times they are susceptible to the run and giving up,
giving up, you know, run place.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
And yeah, you're right.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
If Jacobs is cashing them and finding yardage, yeah, I
mean it sets up for them as Tyler Kraft has
kind of emerged as a really good pass catching tight
end for them. He's second on their team and receptions
and yardage behind Jayden Reid. So yeah, I mean it
just it opens up the door for tons of stuff

(15:16):
what they can do. And then it becomes who you
got on those guys. You gotta worry about Jayden Reid,
you gotta worry about Romeo Dobbs, Christian Watson, and then
on top of the Tucker Kraft now as a really
good pass catch at tight end. So yeah, it's to
me this almost is imperative. You gotta saw down Jacobs.
You're you're about middle of the pack and stopping the run.

(15:38):
Texans give up one hundred and fourteen yards rushing per game,
so about middle of the pack. Green Bay is better
than you. They're about ninth or tenth in the league
and stop of the run. I'm just looking at some
stuff here, you know. I'm addicted to my material analytics,
got papers all over the disk in here, But I
just wanted to do a quick dive and look back

(15:58):
at how running backs have fared versus the Texans, And
in no certain order, I will say the Texans did
a great job with DeAndre Swift in Chicago Bears.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
They held Swift to what did he do?

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Swift had fourteen carries, just one point three yards per.
He didn't get in the end zone. So they did
a good job versus Swift. With Caleb Williams as a
rookie quarterback coming in his second career start.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
But let's look at some of these other guys. Aaron Jones.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Aaron Jones Minnesota one of and two yards five point
four per Let's go Buffalo. James Cook twenty carries four
point one per and a tud let's come over here
to Jacksonville.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
There's tank Bigsby and a ten together.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Etn four point five yards per tank Bigsby twelve point
nine per combine that that's eighteen carries and that's gotta
be some quick map.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Eight yards of carry.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
The Texans have had an issue, and you acknowledged Stramander
Stevenson was out last week for New England.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
They probably would have moved the ball a little bit
more than so. I get nervous about Josh Jacobs. By
the way, let's open up the phone lines here with
the people have to say seven one three two one
two five seven ninety. Y'all know what we do on Friday,
prediction Friday, and we put out there what do we
think is going to happen? And occasionally, like from the
word go, when the times came out the dates and

(17:18):
times came out for the Texans schedule, I had this
as a loss. I just think it's tough to go
on the road. I looked at what the Texans had
been on the road. They're now five hundred at five
and five on the season. They typically don't play their
best ball away from NRG. I looked at how the
Packers ended the season. You you integrate Josh Jacobs into

(17:43):
that offense. I have a healthy respect for Matt Lafleur
as a head coach. And then just the body of work.
Like I just read you, here are running backs that
have put in work. And I didn't even get to
Jonathan Taylor in Week one. I can't even remember what
he did vers Texans. He had a pretty good day.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Yeah, I can't remember specifically, so I mean again, I'm
not gonna be the dead horse there now.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
And he ran for forty eight, he found the end zone.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
But Anthony Richardson at fifty six rushing and a touchdown,
so they had over one hundred yards rushing.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
The quarterback makes it a different dynamic. So it's kind
of like Josh Alley noticed, howdn't bring up Josh right there?
But it makes it a little bit different. But nonetheless,
there's been a healthy sample size of running backs that
have given these Texans problems and two compound matters. The
injury report came out once we wrapped up yesterday, Gordon.
It's the exact same for the Texans as it was

(18:33):
the day before. By my account, that's six starters that
are on the injury report as did not practice this week.
Those names, you know, there's no surprise. Kamar Lassiter, we knew,
Jimmy Ward what is growing. We knew Mario Edwars Junior's suspension,

(18:53):
we knew no practice for a Z's al Shai dealing
with a knee, no practice for Henry told Toe who's
in concussion protocol?

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Excuse me?

Speaker 4 (19:03):
And then there's folly fight of CONSI. You know, the
other starting defensive tackle, he's dealing with his shoulder. He
didn't practice. That's not counting Christian Harris, who hadn't played
all year. That's six defensive starters that must go on
the road and deal with Josh Jacobs, Jordan Love and
that offense. Like listen, I'm as optimistic as they come.

(19:25):
That's how I live my life. I have my moments
like everybody else. Will you have a little doubt, little
little anxiety creeps in. But when we just look at
the football, the numbers, the tape and the personnel, nothing
is impossible. It's sports, it's team sports at that. I
just don't understand what Bobby Sloyd, what do you? Bobby Slow?

(19:47):
Excuse me, Tomiko, you're a bad man. Gordon with six
potentially six defensive starters out, how do they do this?

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yeah? You did the meek archery back yay. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
I mean the reality is you just gotta go do
your best. I mean that's what and so. And here's
the other thing too. If they go up and lose,
don't overreact. If you're sitting here saying that without all
these starters and the defense gets torched, then we got
to be realists on Monday, come in and go, look,
you weren't a full strength. We got to acknowledge that.

(20:20):
I mean, Tamiko is gonna give you the whole next
man up and all that, but.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
We gotta again.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
I just talked about it to start the show with
the backup quarterbacks. You know, when you're playing your backup backups,
they're not as good as your starters for a reason.
At some point it just becomes and that's mostly what
I think this is. This is a bad matchup for
the Texans right now. If the Texans were fully healthy Nico,
Christian Harris, you know Lassa or and by the way,

(20:46):
Jimmy Wartt we talk about we just throw him in.
I know how you feel about him, Gordon, but Jimmy
Wart would start on more than half the league steal
at safety like he still is a good player, he's
just always banged up. So I mean, you're talking about
guys that have played significant steps in this league that
are needed by this defense. If they were fully healthy,

(21:09):
I might feel a little differently. Now I haven't done
a score prediction. We'll do that to wrap up the show,
but unless I missing something, and I'll ask that as
we go to the other side, because when I continue,
when I look at the Green Bay Packers, I start
with that offense.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
The defense has been damn good too.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Right now, on our first take, they're doing Texans Packers,
Cam Newton Snoop Dogg, who is that? Odell's stephen A?
And right now who you got Sunday Texas or Packers,
And they're showing a whole bunch of Jordan Love highlights
dropping BB's on fools, including last week at home versus
the Arizona Cardinals, Josh Jacobs makes me nervous versus a

(21:45):
defense that has six starters out and even when some
of those guys win, we're giving up four, five, six
eight yards per carry to other running backs they faced
this season. Do you share my concerns and what can
we do about it? Off to Miko some suggestions and
some solutions on the other side.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Sports Talk seven.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Ninety next up continues on your phone.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Listen to Sports Talk seven ninety on any device with
our free iHeartRadio apps.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
We're having hour into a Friday edition. The next up
here in the gallery area in the seven ninety studios,
we are efforting to get Pro Football Hall of Famer
as well as Green Bay Packer Hall of Famer Leroy Butler.
We'll get him in as soon as we can, and
until then, however, we'll hear from you seven one three, two,
one two five, seven ninety. You want to get in

(22:39):
and talk some Texans packers with Gordi and I as
we start to unpack this thing. I went through the
Texans injury report, and there's potential to have in a
likelihood of having at least five, maybe six starters out
on defense at some point, even in the lead, like

(23:00):
you can only carry for the eight dudes out there,
Max in today's NFL, like at some point you just
don't have the depth to be able to compete at
the highest level against teams that are on the upper
echelon and Jordan Love is a bad boy. Hold on,
let me read this message, all right, do me a favor.

(23:22):
Connor LeRoy's asking that we text him a number he
can call please. Sounds like there's something some technology issue there. Gordy, Oh,
I should do this. The Packers staying, I guess the
Packers have injuries too. They do, but they've only got
one dude.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Who is that?

Speaker 4 (23:43):
I think that Devonte Wyatt Gordon is the only person,
Dan Lineman. He's a good player. He's the only person
that didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday. So you're catching the
Green Bay Packers when they're healthy and the Texans are not.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Jordan Love.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
Many people are saying, and I had something here, Why
I'm looking up that Gordon. I'm gonna let you take
that answer while I look this up. Let me start there,
simple question for you. Do you consider Joe and Love
on Cjy's level, young dudes, next generation of elite quarterbacks
at the position the Packers are saying, look at us.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Lucky us.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
We go from FARV to Rogers and now Jordan Love
is trending to be on that level.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
You mind that. I me personally just that haven't been
a huge fan of his. He is what he is.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
I mean, most people have him as kind of that
ten to twelve range and best quarterbacks in the league.
If you live in Green Bay, you probably have him
in your top ten. But you know, and look, guardage
leader isn't everything, but you know, and he missed a
couple of games. So but he's got eleven hundred passing

(24:53):
yards twelve touchdowns, which is among the league leaders in
the NFL. So you know, I'm gonna say he's right there.
I just and I've seen him. I've seen him in
a couple of clutch moments here and there, but it
just still feels like it's so it's so early, like
I haven't seen enough of a sample size and Jordan
Love and I hate to say it, but it's probably

(25:14):
in who he's replacing that leads me to think he's
not like in other words, in my mind, he's not
as good as Aaron Rodgers. So I carfore I don't
put him as like an elite quarterback.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Yet he's not my top ten.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Let's ask somebody that has seen I would presume nearly
every snap of the aforementioned Jordan Love again Packers Hall
of Famer Pro Football Hall of Famer played his college
ball in the ACC at Florida State. Former defensive back
in this league, Larroy Butler joins the show. LaRoy, good
morning to you. How you feel this morning?

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Good morning.

Speaker 8 (25:47):
You don't need to bore people with all love accolated.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
It's just every day you talk to a Hall of famer,
one of the best they ever do it in this game.
So while we're waiting to get you queued up there
and appreciate you joining us this morning, we were talking
about Jordan Love and correct me if I'm wrong.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
The thought of.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Your way is that lucky you you go from Farv
to Rogers. Is Jordan Love who really took off the
latter half of last season into this season? Do you
guys really feel that you have one of the elite
quarterbacks in the game.

Speaker 8 (26:21):
Yes, lord way, the same way you guys should be
feeling about shrouded fourth.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yeah, that's our guy and our guys better than your guy.
But go ahead. Yeah we call it the light Skin Bowl.
But it's okay. Listen.

Speaker 8 (26:39):
I know what people are thinking. After the two potential
Hall of famers, there's no way they can do it again.
But guys, it goes back to two things that the
head coach of the Texans did and the head coach
of the Packers. The head coach the Texans, he said,
I got a brilliant plan. I can get Willie Anderson

(27:02):
and CJ.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
Stroud.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Well, what do we have to give up? It don't matter.
I need those guys. That's what going to happen with
the Packers. Okay.

Speaker 8 (27:10):
In twenty twenty, Anon Rogers back to back MVP Matt Lafleur.
Gouda Kunz like, yes, we have a Hall of Fame quarterback.
I'm going to be good in the future. Okay, So
I give him credit for having guds. You not to
choose Jordan Love from Utah State, not some big school.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
They did their.

Speaker 8 (27:32):
Due diligence and we are thrill to death.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
It's interesting, Lroy, as we look at this game. I mean,
these are two really good teams, and you know, we
always look at the schedule when it comes out and say, oh,
thank God, this isn't in December the Texans had to
go play in you know, four feet of snow or something.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Jesus.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
But you know, it looks like it's gonna be I
think I even say, yesterday Tempster, you know, in what
sixty seventies, so it will actually be pretty friendly weather.
But to me, both teams got to get the run
game going. As much as we want to focus on CJ.
Stroud and focus on Jordan Love, to me, this is
more of Josh Jacobs and Joe Mixon, two of probably
more of the underrated running backs. Like I think when

(28:11):
they're both healthy, there's still both top ten caliber running backs,
but they probably don't get the love that they deserve.
But what do you make of this run game? Because stay,
let's talk about a few minutes ago. Jacob's only found
the end zone once this year. He hasn't even scored
a touchdown at home.

Speaker 8 (28:25):
Yet, and he hasn't had one hundred yards yet. But
to us, it's not about yards, and it's about attempts.
Like Joe Mixon had thirty care to get in the
Annapolis one of the worst run defenses, But that's fine.
He had thirty attempts, so you have to attempt it.

(28:45):
At some point, we weren't given Josh Jacobs attempts. It
was eight or nine, but here lately has been nineteen,
so he've been getting twenty five touches that's our key.
And the Packers don't let Jordan Love gets sacked, and
they love to run the ball a lot of misdirections,

(29:07):
motions and shifts and things of that nature because our
really our game, which is no secret, we want to
play action and go down the field.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Yes, that's no secret. Everybody knows that. But I play
defense my whole life.

Speaker 8 (29:20):
Every time you move one guy, that's a potential big
play because you only need one backup corner of safety
not to get the call from the other.

Speaker 6 (29:29):
Side and the guy wide open, no question, that's what
we rely on.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
Josh Jacobs, I remind our listeners, is fifth in the
league right now in rushing yards at four hundred and
sixty four, give or take about twenty behind Sakuon Barkley.
We know Derrick Henry, the monster that he is there
in Baltimore talking with la Roy Butler, pro football Hall
of Fame and defensive back, was in that damn green

(29:54):
and yellow. As the song says, man goal yellow just
might be, but I'll call it gold to show you
some respect. So uh let me, let's let's pivot the
CJ Stroud, Stefan Diggs, Joe Mixon, Dalton Schultz. How scary
do you find our offense here in Houston? Granted Nico

(30:15):
is out on injury reserve, right now, go.

Speaker 8 (30:18):
And take down too. He get deep in a mission
in a hiccup. To me, you really need a quarterback
that can take the film of when they played in Minnesota,
balled up, throw it away, that don't mean nothing. You
got to have a quarterback that's not bothered. That's why

(30:40):
I love CJ. Stroud, That's why I love his mom.
I need somebody just like Jordan Love. If you go
in all his press conferences, he sounded the same. They
can put up points. They got a three wide receiver,
tighten one tight end set from the ball out of
that sometime that gives teams some difficulties. So you have

(31:01):
to pick your poison. But CJ's battle testing, and you
to my playing in the weather. He played at Ohio
State at this game. If it was snow and windy
and raining, unless it don't matter, you're all proing all weather.
That's why we try to put We try to with
our defense with Jeff Hadley, We'd like to funnel the

(31:24):
football to make you throw where we want you to,
not where you want to because of course we got
the best safe.

Speaker 9 (31:30):
In the league.

Speaker 8 (31:30):
I'mber twenty nine if you don't know, because this is
an uncommon NFC opponent, so you don't play a lot
of these NFC teams. But this secondary and this defense
get more turnover than anybody in the league.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
That's their thing.

Speaker 8 (31:44):
So they're gonna try to funnel the football to go
where you want it to be. Well, we wanted to be,
not where you want it to be. And then that's
when they get you.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Well, I'll get you out of here with this one.
You mentioned that it is an NFC opponent, obviously that
the Texas being in the other conference. Steph Diggs has
been in that division. He knows what that's about. Danil
Hunter has been in that division. He knows what that's about.
Joe Mixon, he's played in the AFC North. I'm not

(32:14):
worried about him going on the road, big environments, being
outdoors on grass I'm not worried about Joe Mixon. So
we've got guys that have been in environments comparable to
that or in that division. Gives me a bit more
confidence than I otherwise would have. I say that to
ask our last question again, as Larroy Butler Pro Football

(32:35):
Hall of Famer, also in the Green Bay Packers Hall
of Fame. The environment Sunday in Lambeau. It's a white
out and he got the unis on, and folks like
yourself probably gonna be roaming the sidelines, and y'all here
come my Texans who haven't. This is the third time
the Texans have been up there, and I think we've
won one time up there in a walk off field goal.

(32:55):
Do you make anything into the home field advantage of
Lambeau on a what do they call it, Gordon a
winter warning type of Sunday.

Speaker 8 (33:06):
Well, I will say this, if you're a rookie, if
you're a guy who've never played in the state, it
can be intimidating.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
That's just the first quarter.

Speaker 8 (33:14):
After that, the best team wins because you can always
silence a crowded like you can get a crowd up.
So what I always tell people when I go into
a stadium that I've never been in historical site, After
like the first quarter, it's over with. Now you can
just play. But yes, it is something to go into
the stadium. But I will say this, though, we use

(33:36):
it to our advantage to let other teams know that
this is a place it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
Be hard to play. But we've lost home games as well.

Speaker 8 (33:45):
We lost to Minnesota at home, so it ain't like
the place you can't win. But you got to play
a flawless game to win at Lambo because that's when
the defense get the turnovers. And joy Love is two
to three touchdowns right now, he's eight touchdowns in the
last two home games. Brett Bob never did that, and

(34:07):
I think Aaron Rodgers did it. Maybe Brett did it
in ninety five. I'm gonna put that to the side.
But again, I love your coach, very well coached team,
I love a quarterback, and of course I'm a big
pack of fat.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
This is a.

Speaker 8 (34:21):
Good in the end, this is the Super Bowl preview.

Speaker 4 (34:25):
Oh, I'll take that if you tell me the Texans lose,
because we're gonna be without five or six defenders and
we'll meet your ass again in New Orleans. We're gonna
have a different conversation, Laurold Butler. We might have to
put a dinner on it at that point. But until
the end, made the best team win. I think y'all
would be the best team. On Sunday is that where
you won your Super Bowl New Orleans.

Speaker 8 (34:46):
Yep, facts all tack super Bowl thirty one.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Oh, I said, we going. I think y'all going too. Oh.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
I love to meet you in New Orleans. We can
have this conversation again. We're well over, but it was
well worth it. Pro Football Hall of Famer, Packers Hall
of Fame. I'm gonna play this ball again. Did it
big boy style there in Tallahassee. Appreciate the word Butler
joining us here on next up on a football Friday.
I know he's picking the pack to win. We'll see
the scores that Gordon I have for you in the
eleven o'clock hour.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
Larroy, We'll appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
Please follow him if you happen to be a Packer
fan here in the Houston area, let me get this
man social. You can follow him at where did I
just have it was? Leap thirty six is where you
can get him on the X platform. Thanks so much,
mister Butler.

Speaker 8 (35:30):
Packers thirty Full Texas twenty eight.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
Y'all take care now.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
I don't know that I agree with that score. That's
why I hung up on him. Come back on the side.
Wrap up our one sports tox seven ninety to the
next episode.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
You can't even stop yourself.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Fin John and Dordy next us as Next Up continues
on seven ninety.

Speaker 4 (35:52):
All right, let's wrap up our one here on a Friday.
Thanks to everybody that has us pre set number one
on the audio dial. There you can hear us at
leisure courtesy of the free iHeartRadio app. We want to
show some respect to my guy l Roy Butler. He
was a badass at FSU in that secondary and did
the same thing on Sundays in Green Bay. Packers and

(36:14):
Pro Football Hall of Famer joined us in the previous segment.
You can go back and grab that on Sports seven
ninety dot com or the free app. At the conclusion
of this program, want to get to something he had
to say. I know this will be a short segment
because we went over with l Roy Butler, but Clarence
in Jersey Village has been holding for a while. Clarence floors,

(36:34):
your sir, good morning.

Speaker 10 (36:36):
Good morning, good morning. First, I want to say I
love you guys. We loved you down here in the
medical center.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
We watch you.

Speaker 10 (36:42):
I'm sorry, we listen to you every day. Thank you brother,
so big ups to you guys. So let's get to
the point. I'm gonna be quick. I know the run
games has to move.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
We know that.

Speaker 10 (36:54):
I believe the team that executes on the run, we'll open.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Up the past. But here's the problem.

Speaker 10 (37:00):
Can slowly call the right plays to keep the chains moving.
That's gonna be what I'm gonna watch. We cannot put
Stroud in two.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
In long, three in long and have.

Speaker 10 (37:14):
Him forcing passes into that ballhawk and secondary.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
Those guys are ballhawks. We have some, they have some.

Speaker 10 (37:23):
Let's not put Stroud in long these two in loans,
three in loans that secondary man, those guys, they will
bait him, he will force it, they'll pick it out.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Let's keep the chains moving.

Speaker 10 (37:38):
As you said, play dirty, get that run game going,
and let's keep it close. If we can do that,
we can win the game.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
Thank you, guys, love the show. Appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
Guy Clarence in Jersey Village, Gordy Clarence brought up a balance.
We know both teams want to start with the run
game and then play action off of that. Bobby slowd
took to the podium yesterday after practice. Bobby, we know
you like balance, man, how are you gonna get this thing accomplished.

Speaker 9 (38:05):
So often in the NFL, with how hard it is
every game, not everything's always clicking, you know. I would
say even there were points last game we felt the
past game wasn't clicking the way we wanted it to.
We were able to rely on the run for a
bit before we could balance it back out. And that
the ebbs and flows they continue all the way through
the year. I wouldn't say I approach any game with

(38:28):
a perfect scenario on mind. How it plays out and
what they give us, we can take advantage of it.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
That's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
Officeer coordinator of the Texans, Bobby Slowed more. People seem
to be more vocal recently, Gordon, let's carry this over
to the eleven o'clock out slow. It has become under
fire more this year than I recalled last year. People
are really having some issues with him about to play calling.
And that's with or more so without Joe Mixon. It's

(38:59):
just something I didn't think I would see over wrong.
I don't have a problem with Bobby's play calling outside
of a three maybe four plays that come to mind.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Yeah, I think you gotta look at the players.

Speaker 5 (39:12):
Sometimes players execute I can call, I can call the
greatest play in the world. If you didn't execute it,
I look like the dummy, right, Yeah, why'd you call that?
And then they they didn't do it right?

Speaker 4 (39:23):
And again if you know the player that you called
and put him in that position, couldn't do that. Like uh,
asking Denico Archery to go do what Mario Edwis Junior does,
they don't do the same thing. Now, I know that's
a defensive example, but you get what I'm saying, all right, Gord.
To people moving around the city this weekend, you got
some friends you'd like them to go see.

Speaker 5 (39:43):
Yeah, go check out our friends at Fort Hass Tourtoro
be telling you guys about it all week. If you've
been thinking about selling or trading in your vehicle, go

checking out the inventory on their website. And again after
the Texas game on Sunday, go check them out. You
can get yourself an upgrader ride over that fred Has
toylet World. They're open every Sunday. It's Fred Has toyte World.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
Now what's next?

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Next stop?

Speaker 11 (40:45):
It's the Nick Man up.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
Next stop, the next step, take the next step, Next up.

Speaker 11 (40:50):
Next stop?

Speaker 12 (40:51):
Next next up?

Speaker 8 (40:53):
This team?

Speaker 5 (40:54):
What next?

Speaker 2 (40:56):
This is next up with Stan Norfleeten. Let's see what's
next next SAX.

Speaker 4 (41:04):
Final hour of the week Here in the Sports Talk
seven ninety Studios, West Loops, South Gallerria area. We are
stay in Northfleet. Meet new to the station, new to
the show or choosing to rejoin. We appreciate you allowing
us to maintain our status as your home in Houston.
Sports find me on social at stand Sportsman. That's Chris
Gordy right there. He's our program director, been around here

(41:25):
a long time. You can find him at Chris Gordy.
You can also act Connor d McGovern doing some fancy
stuff there with a computer and some headphones on the
other side of the screen there thanks to his production
and programming prowess. Here on a Friday, where we will solutions.
We'll start here with solutions. How how do the Texans

(41:47):
pull this off? I don't feel great about it. I'm
not gonna hide it. If it were the Astros, I'd
say the same thing. If it were the Rockets or
insert other team locally, I would say the same thing.
I don't feel good Vegas. Now the odds have actually
come down. I think it opened that three and a
half and now this game is down to two and
a half the last time I looked at it. So

(42:09):
I suspect when we get the injury report today and
Vegas sees what we know to be true here locally,
the amount of defensive starters that are out for the Texans,
this is a real problem. Jordan Love, whether you like
it or not, and we heard from Larroy Butler. We've
heard from others throughout the course of preparation for this week.

(42:31):
Jordan Love, who sat on the bench Alah, Aaron Rodgers
for three years prying to get in his shot.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
Last year they going to run.

Speaker 4 (42:39):
They get to the divisional round, they lose to the
Detroit Lines. Detroit goes on to the NFC Championship game. Obviously,
Jordan Love is on a tear. If you combine last
season into this season, Jordan Love right now has eight
consecutive games with two plus passing touchdowns or more. Obviously

(43:00):
two plus. That ties Aaron Rodgers, who did it twice.
Brett Farb did it once in ninety five ninety six.
He had four last week and the week before. Now
he has given an interception up each of the last
two games since he has returned from injury. How do

(43:20):
the Texans pull this off? And listen, this is not
about I don't think Jordan Love, for me, guys is
better than CJ. Stroud. They just they have it rolling
right now. And I remind you, like, yes, the Texans
are five and one. They both got beat by the
same Minnesota Vikings team. Texans on the road packers at Hume.
Different dynamic here. But now when you start talking about

(43:42):
how tall of a task this is. As we get
ready to present solutions, somebody that I revere in the
personnel game watches tape. Nobody in football watches more tape
than Greg Cosell. He joins Colin Cowherd all the time
on his show. I'm forgetting who Greg was on the
show this time, but for nonetheless Greg Cosale, like forty

(44:03):
years at NFL Films, Greg Cosale break down Jordan Love weekly,
Guester know that Cosale tell me about Jordan Love.

Speaker 12 (44:13):
I think Jordan Love is physically and just traits wise,
a top three to four quarterback in this league. He
still has some things to clean up. He still has
a tendency to throw a few too many balls off balance,
you know, falling backwards, and that has to be cleaned up,
There's no question because that will lead to some bad throws.
But what they do offensively, and this comes from Matla Floor,

(44:34):
It's funny you asked me this right after we spoke
about the Bills. They do so many good things schematically
that it really creates throws for Love, and he's such
a good throw over the football. So it's it's a
really beautiful mix of schematics and a quarterback that's really
a high level talent. Now keep one thing in mind too,

(44:56):
He's only been sacked four times in one hundred and
fifty five drop that's one quarter of one percent of
his dropbacks. That's really really good.

Speaker 4 (45:05):
That's Greg Cosel of NFL Films nearly four decades breaking
down the tape. He was on the Ross Tucker podcast
making that statement. Jordan Love has only been sacked four
times in one hundred and.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Fifty five dropbacks.

Speaker 4 (45:18):
So, yes, the Texans are number four in the league
in past rush win rate. Yes, the Texans have Will
Anderson Junr the reigning defensive Player of the Week in
the AFC. The offensive line, Gordon. They don't have the names.
This isn't the days of Bulaga and Bahtiyari. At the tackles.
They don't have those guys. They do have some guys,

(45:41):
they just don't have those guys. Jordan Love gets rid
of the football. Clearly he's will coached, but I think
there's one chink in the armor there. He will give
the football up. The Texans who are going to be
by my prediction. Under manned defensively, Gordon joy Love is

(46:02):
going to give you an opportunity at least one to
take the ball away, whether that's a strip, sack, fumble,
whether that's the interception, whether that's a tip ball, tip drills,
somebody picked this thing off. The defense is going to
have to get at least a takeaway to have a
chance in his game.

Speaker 1 (46:20):
Yeah, I think they will.

Speaker 5 (46:21):
I mean, he's, like we said, been saying all week,
he's had an interception in every game this season that
he started, and then the one that Minnesota against Minnesota
had the three and really put them behind the eight ball.
The interesting one though, is that, you know, we talked
about it, he's only been sacked four times on the year.
It's not sacked at all last week against Arizona. What
are they doing, you know with that offensive line, they're
using his mobility or they're using rollouts so they get

(46:43):
him out in space where he's you know, we talked
about it with Daniel Hunter. So many clips of Daniel
Hunter I've seen this year where he beats his guy
and he's and he's coming, but the quarterback's already rolling
out the other way.

Speaker 1 (46:53):
So he's already chasing.

Speaker 5 (46:55):
You know, he's he beat his guy one on one,
but he can't get to the quarterback. It feels like
a t That's what they do with Jordan Love is
that they don't allow you to get it. Get the sack,
he gets rid of the ball quick. He doesn't sit there,
back there like a statue. So, uh yeah, this is
one where this is a week where I feel like
for the Texans, you're probably like, like, if I asked

(47:16):
you stand, what's more likely that Jordan Love thirst two
interceptions to the Texans secretary, or that you get three
sacks on him, I would say probably more likely you
get the two picks on him.

Speaker 4 (47:25):
I would go the other way. It's probably more likely
that you sack him. And I'll tell you if he gets.

Speaker 5 (47:30):
If you sack him three times and he's only been
sacked four times all year, that would be an anomaly.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
That's me saying I think the Texans pass rush.

Speaker 4 (47:39):
I have more confidence in that then I do DiAngelo
Ross and Jake Hansen getting an interception.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
You see what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (47:47):
The Texans, I remind you went three games without getting
a takeaway at all.

Speaker 5 (47:53):
But who are some of those shlubs that had picks
for him last year for the Texans, Houston.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
Carter whatever they DeAndre called DeAndre Carter Houston Houston Carter
had no business getting what I'm saying. Who has who
won AFC Defensive Play of the Week two? Who's my guy?
Blake Cashman had an interception at least one last year?

Speaker 1 (48:20):
Comes to mind. Shaq Griffin had one. DeAndre Houston Carson.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
What I'm saying to you is, I think the Texans
in the secondary are worse off this year from a
depth standpoint. Jeff Okuda's hanging out on the practice squad, right,
he hadn't been called up. Now, maybe he's hurt, but
for my knowledge, he's just hanging out on the peace squad.
I don't know what's going on. And then, oh my god,

(48:46):
then you got a rookie and Kayln Bullock out there.
So can Matt Burke and Domenico get Kayln Bullock to
remain disciplined knowing that the ball is going to come out?
So Kayln Bullet's got to think about coming downhill and
attack in the alley, to field the alley and run
support with Josh Jacobs running the football. Oh and by
the way. That could be Christian Watson running by my

(49:07):
ass or read going up the sideline. So I need
to get off my responsibilities, get offered wide receiver to
find my one read and key and run. That's a
lot of responsibility. Now, Eric Murray fantastic interception last week.
Are we counting and depending and confident that Eric Murray's
gonna do something like that again?

Speaker 1 (49:27):
Gordon, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (49:30):
That's not what I think about Eric Murray in terms
of taking away the football.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Did you see get up this morning? Did not? I
woke up and has it on TV? A serious on that? Huh?

Speaker 5 (49:41):
Was Eric Murray gonna get up? As they were making it?
As I put it on, they were making their their picks.
And there's Bart Scott going, I just think the Green
Bay Packers or an elite team. There's Dan Graciano going, Man,
the Packers. This is this is a stud team, right,
this is a Super Bowl contender. There's Mike tanningbam going.
I mean I said it before, Love is the only
young quarterback I would start a franchise with. Ooh, finally

(50:04):
it took my green bird to go. Okay, I'm gonna
bust up the clean sweep here. I'm gonna go with
CEJ strouthe in Houston, Texans, but that it was just
interesting because I walk up to that on TV. See
it's just you know what, I hope, I hope they
all start picking the packers.

Speaker 1 (50:18):
Let them all pick the packers.

Speaker 4 (50:20):
Six eight, ten, twelve, fourteen. All right, So, and we'll
continue this conversation solutions. How can the Texans pull this off?
The first for me is you're probably not going to
stop Josh Jacobs, but can you minimize the damage. Can
you minimize Josh Jacobs enough that you deter Matt Lafleur

(50:40):
from running him consistently and give yourself a better chance
of changing the game? Stripsack, fumble, tip pass interception from
Jordan Love. You give yourself a better chance that way
than you do if you can't stop Josh Jacobs. So
we're offering solutions. But on the way out the door,
I look at this def in some of you and

(51:01):
I'm surprised we hadn't heard it already. Seven one three,
two one two five seven ninety. If you want to
comment on how the Texans can pull this off? The
Texans look good statistically yardage wise, The defense is giving up.
I believe the fourth, third or fourth fewest yards in
the league. I care less about yardage and what happens

(51:22):
in the red zone and what happens scoring. The Texans
are sixteenth, give or take in the league in scoring defense.
They have to play their a game because Green Bay
is healthy and their positioned to go play theirs. I'm
nervous as hell, but we will offer solutions, join us

(51:42):
and doing so on the other side. Seven three two
P one two five seven ninety Real Texas Talk and
listen to kbm ME Next.

Speaker 2 (51:49):
Up continues now. So I'm a new listener at already
a huge fan.

Speaker 8 (51:53):
New listener.

Speaker 3 (51:54):
I love the show with Stan nor Fleet and Chris
Gordy on Sports Suck seven night.

Speaker 1 (52:04):
He's always up, but.

Speaker 7 (52:06):
Then there's some times where we're like, man, I didn't
want to be around this guy because he's that up,
So you know, he really you know. One of our
our I would say, one of like kind of our
themes last week was sort of like bring our own juice,
you know, and we understood like what we're gonna, you know,
go on the road, and the weather is gonna be
like all those things, and kind of we were preaching like, man,
we got to bring our own energy, and and Will

(52:26):
really like took that to heart and so like you
could tell right from the jump like pregame warm ups
and and kind of where he was from, like almost
taking upon himself to be the heart of of of
the team in terms of the energy and what we
were trying to bring.

Speaker 4 (52:39):
Wait, you need to defensive coordinator of Houston Texans Matt
Burke on what Will Anderson Jr.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
Bringing his own juice?

Speaker 4 (52:48):
Hopefully it wasn't purple leaving h Town headed up to
uh New England last week. Gonna do it going to
green Bay this week. Will Anderson Jr. Denko Archery, daneil Hunter.
Those must be the best defensive players for the Houston

(53:10):
Texans to win on Sunday. They must. Absolutely. The statistics
were beautiful in last week's game. They were up seven
points at the break versus a rookie making his first
career start on the road. This is Jordan Love and
that offense coached by that guy green Bay will put

(53:33):
you away. The Texans have to steal a possession by
getting They must win the takeaway game.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
They have to.

Speaker 4 (53:45):
If the Texans don't win a turnof for margin. I'm
not understanding how they're going to do this now they
have the personnel to do so, and that's why I
named those three. Will Anderson Junior, Deaniel Hunter Denico Archery
must go absolutely harassed doing love.

Speaker 5 (53:58):
We overrating them a little bit. Who is what you mean?
The Green Bay what's the best win of the season?
Their best win of the year. Hmmm, they didn't win.
So they beat I'm trying to pull up the schedule.
They beat the Colts, they beat Philly week in Brazil,
they lost Bill Okay, so those are the two losses.
So they beat the Colts, the Jags, maybe who else.

(54:19):
They beat the Colts, they beat the Titans. They lost
to Minnesota. They beat the Rams, they beat the Cardinals.
The Rams are one in four and by the way,
that was a Rams team with no Pooka Nakua or
Cooper Cup. So I mean that's their best win and
that's a one win team. So are we over rating team? No?

Speaker 4 (54:37):
They lost to Minnesota by two. The Texans lost to
Minnesota by twenty, but they were down twenty eight nothing
and they rally.

Speaker 5 (54:44):
You just didn't do it. Texans didn't rally. No, I
know but who cares? Get your brain beat in? You
lost the game matters how did you play versus how
you play? I'm not saying I think green Bay is
like over. If green Bay and Texans met in New
Orleans this Sunday for the Super Bowl and green Bay
was fully healthy and the Texans was super for fully healthy,

(55:06):
excuse me, I would pick the Texans, but that ain't
the case. I'm changing this team's mid green Bay. Yeah,
and then what is this gonna go beat them? I've
been thinking green Bay all week, this team's mid. What
have you done? You ain't beating anybody? You beat Will Levis? Congratulations,
you're Virginia Cavaliers might be able to be Will Levis. No,
that's definitely not the can.

Speaker 1 (55:29):
Listen.

Speaker 4 (55:30):
I will hear your argument because I don't know that
you are alone in that thought process. The phone lines
tell me that you are alone. Let's go up on
the north side the cyphrus kJ, friend of the station,
friend of the show, What up?

Speaker 6 (55:42):
Yo? What I know?

Speaker 10 (55:44):
Love this show as usual? Fellas and MJ. That go,
Chris Man, I got a bone to pick with you, brother.
You just know some of my thunder they are overrated
and my sleeping number of green Bay. Absolutely not. They
have talent, So don't get it twisted.

Speaker 11 (55:59):
This isn't a Green Bays trash commentary. Green Bay is
a good team, but again, I mean they barely beat
the Jets.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
I guess, and I don't think the jetsro as good
as the Texas.

Speaker 11 (56:09):
We're gonna go by common Upopa, we can actually comm
an opponent, we can actually go down the teams that
Minnesota played, and Minnesota barely beat the Jets, So I
guess the jetsro on Minnesota's level. Two things happen, there
are nominies, there are outlines over the course of the season.

Speaker 1 (56:25):
You don't go by one game.

Speaker 11 (56:26):
You go by the body of your entire body of work.
And as of right now, Minnesota is the only two
quality teams they played. They lost and that was against
Minnesota and that was against Philly. So am I sitting
there saying the Texas is gonna walk into Limbo Field
and put a thirty four nugget on them and we're
thirty four to ten.

Speaker 1 (56:45):
No, I do pick the Texas to win.

Speaker 11 (56:47):
I got him at twenty eight and twenty three on
my twenty eight to twenty three on my board. But
we've got to stop with the HYPERBOLEEF, we gotta stop
with the unnecessary areas worry.

Speaker 6 (56:56):
Should there be concerned, Yes, anytime.

Speaker 11 (56:58):
You line up against our opponent in the NFL, that
should be concerned.

Speaker 1 (57:02):
But we don't need to put the extra sauce on
the pizza man.

Speaker 11 (57:05):
Green Bay is an average team with that above average
record because they played below average challenge and this is
their average team.

Speaker 4 (57:13):
You don't think that's a bit aggressive. They lead the
league in takeaways by like nine. That's an old Whalming statistic.
Wait in a bunch of high school.

Speaker 1 (57:22):
I get that.

Speaker 11 (57:23):
But now look at the quarterbacks they played. They have
a goal against pack my homes. They have a goal again,
nor have the Texans, So.

Speaker 1 (57:31):
That makes the playing field even. You just raised my point.

Speaker 4 (57:33):
The Texans played Caleb Williams in his second game ever.
They played Sam Donald. Will take him out. Both teams
played against Sam Donald. Anthony Richardson in his second season.
Josh Allen was the best win the Texans have on
the season. We all know that now the Texans have
the best win between the two teams.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
That's obvious, no question about that.

Speaker 4 (57:57):
But to say that Green that's that I or someone
else that shares this opinion is putting some extra sauce
on it.

Speaker 11 (58:05):
I don't know about that. I think this is go ahead.
One more comment, and I'm gonna say I had a floor.
All right, that's a valid points dan real talk, but
that's it.

Speaker 1 (58:18):
As of right now. The two of the three best.

Speaker 11 (58:19):
Quarterbacks that Green Bay played were arguably Matt Stafford Kyle
Kyle Murray. And I'm still German for me is still
out on Sam Donaldson will say Jalen Hurts he won
one of those games and barely won, uh barely won
the other I put I'll put the three quarterbacks. I'll
put it included Josh Allen and two other quarterbacks that

(58:42):
we played against the quarterbacks that they've played, if you're
gonna break it down to its common denominator. And I
still just don't see where green Bay is head and
shoulders better than Uston. Am I saying green Bay can't
Louke can't win. No, I just don't think it's as
big as of as as adulting a task as some

(59:03):
people are making.

Speaker 1 (59:04):
But that's just my opinion.

Speaker 4 (59:06):
I appreciate the thought, kJ and I want to make
sure that y'all hear this because I know people coming
into the show go to there. At different moments, I've said,
I like this game for Houston because they finally like
you're playing someone in your weight class. Allah Buffalo this time, however,
you gotta go do it on the road. This time
you are shorthanded. By my expectation, the Texans are gonna

(59:29):
be without not just Nico Collins on offense, They're going
to be without five or six defensive starters, not including
Christian Harris, based on the injury report. So when you
add that up and you look at just like they're
on a roll in Green Bay, Jordan Love, I just
told you eight consecutive games two touchdowns or more passing

(59:51):
the football. The defense leads the league in takeaways. The
head coach has been in an NFC title game. There's
a lot of for me between these two stats. Can
Houston use that to their advantage? Perhaps a good good
bit of news for the Texans. Aaron Wilson just put
up there fully fought costs. He returned to practice. I

(01:00:12):
like this, This is good news. So now we're down
to five starters, they might be out.

Speaker 1 (01:00:16):
Who else is that? Any uh?

Speaker 5 (01:00:18):
Just Eve reiterated no practice again today for as Al
shah Here, Kamari Lasser, Henri Toto three, Jimmy.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
Ward Or, and Robert Woods Robert five.

Speaker 5 (01:00:27):
But he did point out Neville, Hewtt and Jake Hanson
been taking all the first team on.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
They don't have anybody else too.

Speaker 5 (01:00:34):
I'm just saying there they It's a little bit different
if you go all week and then you find out
on Friday the guy in front of you who's not playing,
you got it. If you practice all week as the
pre the whole game plan, everything, you know what you're
supposed to be doing this week. I'm not saying they're
gonna go play their asses off.

Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
I'm just saying.

Speaker 4 (01:00:50):
Doesn't help, yes, but they like that was going to
be the plan anyway, like concussion protocol and a knee
injury for his ease, Like in my mind the moment
I told you on the show Monday, aseas and at
knee what's going on?

Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Be honest and listen.

Speaker 4 (01:01:06):
This is no disrespect to the organization or no disrespect
to the two gentlemen whose names I'm about to say,
because in their roles, respectively, they do a nice job.
I don't know and quite Frankly, I don't believe that
if you've got that much change down and drop off

(01:01:26):
down the middle of your defense. Okay, foer COSI looks
like he may go. We know that that Mario Edward
Junior is not. It doesn't look like Azaz and Henry
are gonna go. Jimmy Ward is a safety down the
middle of your defense. Like down the middle of your defense.
And the two key communicators of the defense in Jimmy

(01:01:48):
Ward and more so Aziz as Shaya, they're off the field.
Oh were you got? So that's what this is?

Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
My guy, Peter Bukowski covers the Packers up there, Green Bay.
This is from next Gen Stats. Yeah, you might think
of earlier about the play action. Yes, yeah, the Jordan
loves live. Jordan Love loves action. Four touchdown passes off
at the Texans defense this year against play action, it's
given a five touchdown passes.

Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
They are getting duped. Say that again. I'm sorry, I
was looking at something. Play action.

Speaker 5 (01:02:16):
Jordan Love is good against play actions. Texans are not
good at defending play action.

Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Not great. Five touchdouns? Give now?

Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
Can I counter that with a point for the Houston Texans?
Do you know According to Pro Football Focus, who's number
one in the league versus the Blitz. That would be
Cole Ridge Bernard Strout to four. CJ's the best in
the league versus the Blitz. He was excellent last year.
He has continued that this season, Hey, Jeff Heavy, you

(01:02:43):
blitzed CJ. If you want, my brother will make you pay.
And I hope they do do something dumb here it
is first them on quarterback c J. Strout PFLF grade
of eighty eight point seven versus the Blitz again number
one in the league. So take the over a lot
of scoring on I don't I don't see a lot
of scar I personally don't westside Joe, I'll get you

(01:03:05):
and everybody else on the other side seven one three

Staton or Fleets and Chris.

Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
Gordy, this is next tough on sports sucks.

Speaker 9 (01:04:27):
He made some really good plays in that game and
would love to see that continue every game if we could.
But the other thing that really jumped off in the
last game was was we really blocked all up front.
You know, we had great intent, we were on the
details of what we had to do. We were moving
people and we needed to move and that was a
that's a New England's historically a very tough scheme, and

(01:04:49):
our guys upfront did a really good job to give
Joe and Damien some dayly.

Speaker 4 (01:04:56):
Welcome back in the next up for another twenty seven
minutes before we get you over the Matt Thomas and
ROSSVILLEA for the Matt Thomas show Stand sports Man, that's
where you find me on social at Chris Gordy. We
are at sports Talk seven ninety as a station. That
was Bobby Sloyd mentioning how critical Joe Mixing being back
excuse me, and how it ex sens this offense takes

(01:05:17):
it to the next level. That was clear both he
and Damian Pierce having career long runs. I do believe
they're in New England at Gillette Stadium last week. Would
love to see that again, Chris Gordy. If they're able
to get going that green Bay defense can be a challenge.
We talked so much about the takeaways. We will get

(01:05:38):
more into that. But as it pertains to Mixing Lord,
team respect has hit us up on social Gordon he says, staying,
I believe with our top two running backs and CJ. Stroud,
the offense will do enough to get a win. I
love our defense, and I know they realist the chance
to get after Jordan love in Lambeau. Stay and believe
in mixing like you've been practiced preaching. Excuse me, I

(01:06:01):
do believe in Joe Mixon. I do think it unlocks
so many other things for this offense, and it gives
the Texans a chance. Here we'll see. I've seen Damian
Pierce on a small sample size. Although it has been
good this year, Darray has been good in spots. You

(01:06:21):
got confidence in that offensive line with regularity. I don't
know that I do. They've been inconsistent this season, you know,
like I look at an end as Joe Mixon can
have a hell of a day, and he just might.
But what if Josh Jacobs Gordy combat's his good day
with a good day of his own? Like, are we

(01:06:43):
gonna trade run games?

Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
Okay? Run games equal, quarterbacks equal?

Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
What then becomes the differential taking the ball away, sacking
the quarterback, the kicking game, I would say advantage Texans.
So the question is about the common it is about
Joe Mixon in the run game. Can Joe Mixon and
Damian Piers run the Texans the victory in Lambeau on Sunday.
Go ahead, excuse me, No, I mean you're gonna have

(01:07:10):
to play comporary football always.

Speaker 5 (01:07:12):
But no, they're not just gonna run run wild with
with Joe Mixon. I yeah, I mean the sec to
ital CJ s triw. What is a fifteen sixteen sex?
Uh sixteen times? That's tie for fourth most in the league. Yeah,
we'll see. I got a sixth, tie for fifth most
in the league. Excuse me, Well, those two p guys
tied at four, Jacoby, Brissett and Baker.

Speaker 1 (01:07:33):
I guess they're not counting Jacoby because he didn't start anymore.
Mm hmm. But yeah, I don't know. I mean.

Speaker 5 (01:07:40):
That that does trouble me though, that Jordan Love is
not He's not been sacked very much at all, when
that's supposed to be your strength. Your strength is getting
after the quarterback. You're paying all this money to Daniel Hunter. Well,
Anderson Junior is coming off of reigning defensive you know,
I feel defensive player of the Week, and you know,
I don't know if you can't if they negate that

(01:08:02):
and you can't get sacks, is it almost better to
rush your rush your for down lineman, don't bring any
extra pressure and keep it extra dB in there.

Speaker 4 (01:08:12):
See, this is the other thing I brought up because
not having azase in Henry told told never you and
Jake Hansen can't blitz like those two. And I'm not
saying they're great at it, but they've been at least
serviceable at it, Meaning Asease and Henry you don't likely
won't have those two.

Speaker 1 (01:08:31):
So the pressure which has helped.

Speaker 4 (01:08:33):
Demko this year, pressuring more than he ever has, you
now can't do that. So now I got two guys
I can't kind of on consistently to cover, and I
got two guys I can't blitz necessarily. So now I'm
looking at two old school back when you know, nineties,
early two thousands, when I was putting on a helmet,
I got essentially two thumpers. And you need those guys

(01:08:57):
to keep Josh Jacobs from going crazy. But I'm looking
at defense. Let me look at where is green Bay's
rush defense?

Speaker 1 (01:09:05):
Green Bay.

Speaker 4 (01:09:06):
I'm gonna do a quick count here, two, four, six, eight.
I got Green Bay eighth in the league in rush
defense from a yards per game standpoint. Listen, you can't
like you can't get new players the way Bobby Sloyd
and Nick Cassario and well along with Demiko, the way
they have constructed this team. They're gonna run the ball first.

(01:09:30):
They have a healthy ish Joe Mixon and Damian Pierce.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Cool.

Speaker 4 (01:09:34):
Let's run the ball now. The thing that I look
at is not just running the football. I'm coming to
you west side, Joe. I look at the fact that
the Packers' secondary is being celebrated for the nine interceptions
they have, but the Packers have also given up the
eighth most passing yards per game, nearly two hundred and
thirty yards per game.

Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
There will be opportunities for CJ.

Speaker 4 (01:09:57):
Stroud to connect on a big play down the field,
whether that's to Tank, whether that's to Steph Diggs, whether
that's Xavier Hudson, maybe as Dalton schultzon in the middle
of the field. CJ has to connect because if he misses,
they're gonna pick off the ball and they won't get

(01:10:19):
many of those opportunities. Now, if you can connect, then
you get chunk yardage. Obviously, you get a new set
of downs. And here we go. What concerns me We
talk so much about Jordan Love six interceptions in his
four starts. Quietly, CJ Stroud has thrown four interceptions in

(01:10:39):
his last four games. CJ's averaging. They pick a game himself.
This is going to be as much about CJ's decision
making and Bobby Sloyd's play calling. Take your shots when
they're there. If you get cute, you make a mistake.
You make a mistake. Your team can't win if they
don't win the turnover margin. You've got to matt their

(01:11:00):
energy in the tonover game or this his ball game. Now,
I know, y'all, who's that. kJ just told me Stan,
you're putting a lot of stock into Green Bay. I'm
just watching the games, looking at the numbers. This is
what the information tells me. Now, maybe CJ goes up there,
Gordon and he plays the best game we've ever.

Speaker 1 (01:11:18):
Seen him play in a Texans uniform.

Speaker 4 (01:11:21):
Four hundred yards, four touchdown runs for one nearly perfect
passer rating. Step Diggs get you two touchdown, Tank you
get you too. How about Damian Pierce, you get you
another Russia touch Maybe it happens. I'm not saying it warm,
I'm just looking at the information in front of me.
In the moment, Texans largely because of personnel are in trouble. Now,

(01:11:45):
those are some things that I think they can do.
I got one more under my hat that I think
the Texas can do to bring a win back to Houston.
All Right, he's been waiting for a while. Appreciate you
doing so. A friend or the station friend of the show,
my guy Westside Joe.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
What up with it?

Speaker 6 (01:11:59):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
It man?

Speaker 6 (01:12:00):
I'm laughing at you. We do overanalyzing everything this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
Like I told you on the other.

Speaker 6 (01:12:06):
Day, overanalyzed, and I got a joke for you are
staying and it's gonna make you laugh or guarding. What
is stand I always talk about here is buy I've
been in the room rooms, I've been in the places.
I've been a starter. So you asked about the quarterbacks
in the backup quarterback here lives exhibit a standing there

(01:12:28):
on field. If he's gonna be out there observing talent.
The next thing is we're gonna go up there. We're
gonna get a win. And I'm gonna call your on
Monday and I'm gonna say I told you say, I
told you so. I'm a holly child on Monday, and
it's gonna be a win. Texas twenty four them seventeen,
holding back with money seventeen.

Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
Appreciate you, called Wesley Joe Gordon.

Speaker 4 (01:12:51):
What's side, Joe said, holding the package to seventeen with
six excuse me, five defensive starters.

Speaker 5 (01:12:58):
Out Colt seldom to sixteen. But Colts only scored ten
a list. I'm not saying that Texas, well, I am.
We'll get to my prediction. I only got one of
the thing.

Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
Here was the only funny thing.

Speaker 5 (01:13:11):
Adam Wexer was hammering earlier, or Adam Clinton was hammering
early in the week. He's like, I'm taking the over.
I think it's the over. I think this is gonna
be score score. But here, here's here's the tricky part.
Both teams have been prone to third interceptions. Let's say
the Texans get down to the red zone, throw a
red zone interception. Let's say the Packers get down the
red zone, throw a red zone interception that suddenly moved
shifts to the under because you just had all these

(01:13:33):
yards one on all this time, you know, draining drive right,
and you don't turn it into points in the same
way the other way. That's that means you're gonna hit
the under because you have less scoring opportunities.

Speaker 4 (01:13:44):
Come back on the other side. We'll grab Michael in
the heights and we'll get a couple of the calls
to close out the show. We also have prediction time
seven one three, two, one two five seven.

Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
Ninety Stan this this next time on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
All right, fellers, let's put a bow on this week's action.

(01:14:28):

good content and interviews like Leroy Butler, Pro Football Hall
of Fame, a Packets Hall of Famer that joined us
in the ten o'clock hour.

Speaker 1 (01:14:41):
We'll do some.

Speaker 4 (01:14:42):
Predictions to wrap up this show here. Momentarily, I've got
one other nugget, one other reason the Texans can win
this game on Sunday, Let's go to the heights. Friend
of the station, Friend of the show, Michael, what up
with it?

Speaker 6 (01:14:56):
What's up? Guys? I think?

Speaker 13 (01:15:00):
Man, I don't I don't think. I don't think the
Miko is gonna blitz at all this game. I'm looking
at like Danil Hunter. You know, I figured he has
some familiarity with the Packers, but he hasn't even really.
I mean, he's got seven sacks total and since twenty
fifteen against the Packers, so they're gonna be doubling and
tripling that guy. And uh, I guess the worst thing
you could do with uh Jordan Love is let him

(01:15:22):
sit back there and throw a ball. So I just
think they're going to challenge him to beat him with
his arm. And uh yeah, I mean I maybe maybe
Will Anderson gets nutty again and you know, and cause
a lot of havoc and uh but I think as
long as we could run the ball and we got
to keep Jordan Love on the bench, man, I think
that's the only shot with gott so uh but I'm excited. Man,
this should be Hey, dude, this should be a primetime game.

(01:15:44):
This is ridiculous. Like all, we got to watch the
Jet seven times this year. Like, come on, man, y'all
have a good weekend. Yeah, I know, I know, y'all
have a good weekend.

Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
Man, do the same thing, Michael and the Heights. It
is the CBS Game of the week. Is the Sox
got Packers chief so Super Bowl rip back?

Speaker 1 (01:16:00):
They got the Niners chiefs. I knew what you mean.

Speaker 4 (01:16:03):
Yeah yeah, Romo, Jim Nance and Tracy Wilson. So they
got the A team lambeau Field white out. We've done
all of that. We've been through that before we get
the predictions. Let me go to the social my man
A Lewis hit us up, Gordy, he says, Let's not
forget the Texans have Derek Stingley Junior, one of the

(01:16:24):
best cover corners in the league. It would be nice
to see Stingley redeem himself. I didn't like BOUTI boute.
I didn't like him dunking on Stingley Jr. Going up
that sideline ending the second ending the first half against
New England last Sunday. I'd like to see Stein get
a pick again. Been a while. He is also looking
at you, Kaylyn Bullock. I've been braggadocious about you, super

(01:16:48):
bullish on what you offer. Go get the football again, kid,
yes's lambeau Field. Yeah, that's Jordan Love, a Pro Bowl
quarterback on the other side.

Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Cool.

Speaker 4 (01:16:57):
At some point, it's just football. You've been taking the
ball away your whole career. They're going to give you chances.
Trust me. Let me look at this, because I hadn't
brought that to this conversation.

Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
Jordan Love. Let me look at his attempts in the starts.

Speaker 4 (01:17:11):
In his four starts, thirty four attempts, fifty four attempts.
He had fifty four attempts against Minnesota when they were
trying to come back, twenty six attempts, thirty two attempts
last week. The ball is going to be coming out
of plenty. There will be opportunities to take this thing away.
The tech sins have to I repeat, have to grab

(01:17:33):
the ball. None of this is eased out. Shire versus
Josh Allen. I almost caught it now. I know it
is unlikely to play, but whoever it is, catch the football. Gordy.
The kicking game. I have supreme confidence in Kymie Fairbairn
to knock one through shortly after crossing the midfield strike.

(01:17:55):
They're going to try it out. Brandon McManus, fresh off
some sexual assault settlements. His first time kicking in Green
Bay or kicking in the league this year was in
Jacksonville last year. So they waved by by to Brayden Navarsen,
who was lasting the NFL in field goal percentage.

Speaker 1 (01:18:16):
So they've upgraded their kicker.

Speaker 4 (01:18:18):
I'll take emy over anybody, including Brandon McManus, that they
put on the field. I'm going edge special teams Texans,
so they have to Deneil Hunter, will Anderson Jr. Along
with Deniko Artrey. Welcome to the twenty twenty four season Archery.
You're gonna have to go be disruptive. I'm talking tackles

(01:18:39):
for loss. I'm talking bad at balls. I'm talking sacks
and strip sacks and force and fumbles. You're going to
have to because that secondary ain't gonna stand up versus
those receivers by themselves, especially with that and now I'm
saying secondary, including those two linebackers the Texan CJ don't
get crazy. You're gonna have to take some risks. They're

(01:19:00):
going to give you an opportunity to do so. They
give up a bleap Ton of yards in the air.
Don't get greedy, but take advantage of opportunities. And then, thirdly,
the kicking game. The Texans must this will be a
last year the Texans had Andrew Beck had a kickoff
return for a touchdown, and there Steven Simms in a
playoff games going to touch somebody on special team. Damian

(01:19:23):
Pierce had a kick return for a touchdown last year.
They're going to have to find some points somewhere because
I do not like the idea of CJ. Stroud in
a shootout with Jodan Love in Lambeau. That's just a
bad idea. You ready for predictions? Yes, we can get
to these.

Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
This game is.

Speaker 5 (01:19:41):
About playoff standings. This game is about bragging rights. This
game is about which quarterback is young? Quarterback is better?

Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
CJ. Stroud er Jordan Love. We all know the answer
to that.

Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
Texans are well we in Houston, though other places still
say differently. Mike tann Obamas full aboard the Love train.
Texans on a three game winning streak. Houston Texans are
seven to three against the spread, as they wrote underdog
in their last ten. This line's still sitting at Texans
plus two and a half. The Packers, staying they have

(01:20:15):
won twelve of the last twenty home games. Home field
advantage right white out, I still see eight losses in there.
I still see vulnerability. The Packers are eight and two
against the spread in their last ten, so something has
to give here. Texans have hit the under for their
last five games. If underachieved. However, last week they came

(01:20:37):
alive that Texans have only scored more than twenty nine
points once this season. Stand said that was last week.
You're selling a fight right now. Oh, all right, give
him a hubble cut.

Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
He's got him back the.

Speaker 1 (01:20:49):
Dog hornor I'm reading it this expert betting expert.

Speaker 5 (01:20:55):
He says the Packers are primed to grab the win
and cover the spread in this one. Why he said
they will lead heavily into the home field advantage.

Speaker 1 (01:21:03):
I'm saying, what the hell home field.

Speaker 5 (01:21:04):
Advantage you got When it's seventy degrees out in sunny
at noon in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This ain't December and
twenty degrees. It's ain't three feet of snow on the ground.
Kind of home field advantage you got? Other than we
get loved sometimes because we eat brons and we drink beer.
We had ugly women screen Bay, Wisconsin. I got the

(01:21:25):
Texas winning at thirty to twenty eight.

Speaker 4 (01:21:27):
Thirty whoa the second highest point tota on the season
for the Texans on the road, without Nico going up
in the Lambeau going down town.

Speaker 5 (01:21:37):
The only reason this offense staggered for a couple weeks
is because they had the run game was not existent.
They got their running back back.

Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
Jordan Love is fourteen and seventeen as a starter by
my account according to Pro Football Reference.

Speaker 1 (01:21:53):
Stuck great.

Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
I want to see what his home split is, Connor,
you go, Jordan Love nine and five at home as
a starter. Completion percentage on average sixty five percent, twenty
one touchdowns to eight interception So that's three to one
passer rating irrespectable ninety six four. All right, Before I
get to my prediction, Connor, go ahead. What you think
is gonna happen on Sunday?

Speaker 2 (01:22:13):
My boy?

Speaker 1 (01:22:14):
Thirty four to twenty eight Packers.

Speaker 4 (01:22:16):
Thirty four, twenty eights, okay or kyme?

Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
I don't even kick a field goal? Thirty four to
twenty eight. All right.

Speaker 4 (01:22:25):
I've done this like three different times, three different ways,
just walking my way through this game. I keep coming
up Packers, don't cover Texans again involved in an under.
I've got twenty four to twenty three Green Bay. It's

(01:22:46):
just a it's just I'm gonna say this again because
some of y'all are gonna call me a hater. Y'all
gonna tell me, oh, stay there you go again being hyperbolic.
The Texans have no Nico Collins and five defensive starters
likely not to play. If this was any other team,
y'all'll be saying the same thing. I respect your passion,

(01:23:09):
you standing for your team. Y'all know how I am.
I have to give you the really real even if
it hurts. Love you, though, how to do it for us?
