- If you ever doubt the power of pure stubbornness, just ask Chittville how we survived the mother of all storms â hail the size of raccoon egos, cows floatinâ like balloons, and a flying Porta Potty with more air time than a country music video.
While the rest of the world scrambled, I strapped on my cutoff overalls, grabbed my trusty El Camino-Bass Boat hybrid (The Aquanator), and went full-on storm wrangler. From jumpstarting sirens with car batteries and forks, to sealing levees with Skeeterâs sticker stash and sheer dumb luck, I held the chaos at bay.
We sang karaoke in a garage-turned-armory, dodged airborne bathrooms, and by the time the sky cleared â well, Chittville was still here. Sticky, soaked, and smelling like swamp gas and determination.
The town gave me a plaque, beef jerky, and a lawsuit. I call it Wednesday.
Moral? When disaster hits, donât wait on no FEMA. Grab duct tape, your courage, and never, EVER stand under a flying Porta Potty.
