The question asked here was- While being in the ashram devotion springs up naturally but the same devotion becomes less as time goes by and thoughts start to invade after some time. How can one overcome this? [Connection between satsang and bhakti] Om Swami says that this is the reason for our scriptures as well as all the religions of the world to emphasise in keeping spiritual company or (satsang). Just like exercising once in a while is not enough and one has to keep at it three to four times a week, or eating once is not enough but at least two or three times in a day is necessary, similarly, satsang on a regular basis is very much needed. This helps establish the connection with the soul and keeps unwanted thoughts at bay. It helps a person stay with the same sentiment says Om Swami. Listen to this discourse fully to get an in-depth understanding of this beautiful topic.
