Speaker 1 (00:00):
From Hollywood. Thank you for listening to us with Ryan Seacrest,
Because it's a lot of people are up early, so
I'm going to work. So I'm just getting organized. Other
people getting their exercise, and I've started to do something
which I've found all my life to be miserably painful.
(00:23):
But I play that song when I do this. Now
I'm trying to do pull ups. No, they're so hard.
I have had strength, that's the thing, and grip, and
I used to try to do them and I just
get so sad because they're hard. They just make every
part of your body? Is there a secret to it? Like?
(00:44):
Do you like? I think the secret is you just
do one for a week then you too. Okay, see
that's a secret anyway. That song I play to get
me going and pull myself. Where are you at right now?
One number six came? What's up? You probably do? But
(01:13):
do you deal them with your legs straight down and
no rocking? Like completely like this? Yeah? Oh yeah, I
don't like the leg swinging thing. There's a doorway where
you're at, and I feel as though you should prove
it during the next song, We don't know you need
the bar? You don't you could do the doorways. I've
seen touch to it on like beans. We're gonna pull
myself up over these monitors by me on the the door,
(01:34):
like the doorway door, the actual door. Yeah, I think
are going to break the hinges off. No, I don't know.
Those are pretty sturdy doors made a metal anyway. That
song just what I'm saying. That's a good song to
work out too, is what I was trying to say
to you all um. This morning, as you get going
(01:57):
not quite as warm hies in the upper seventies and
low nineties, as you work inland, we gotta Ryan's roses
this morning. So that's after seven. Now. The deal with
this is they've been living apart due to work, and
everything was okay, it was fine, and then something happened
was a late night decision, and now there's some trouble.
So we'll do that at seven. Sotana and Robbie are
(02:23):
you know they're becoming one? And I see baby steps,
I see you know the dog solar panel. I see
the dog's name is Sonny. Sonny. The two of them
the Taco Tuesdays. And now apparently she has given him
the authority and the responsibility and the duty to calculate
(02:46):
sugar intake. I didn't want to do it romantic. How
hot is this opposite of hot? But I realized I'm
super addicted to sugar, and I really I don't want
to be addicted anymore. So I'm like, I need to
go cold turkey. And I wasn't doing it on my own.
(03:07):
And I'm with him the majority of I'm him more.
I'm more with him than I am with anybody else
someone dependent over here. But what's the impetus to the
sugar intake? Is like, so, how what he's supposed to do? What?
So he's like monitoring me. He's just like helping me
get rid of it completely. And so I put sugar
(03:30):
in my coffee every single morning. It's like what I
look forward to. I love it so much. And now
that he's in charge of my sugar, he goes, no
more sugar in your coffee, and I'm like really having
a tough time with it, and it's so addicting. No,
I'm when I'm not with him, I'm I stand to
it because I'm like, now I've committed to him, and
(03:50):
he's like keeping me on track and he's checking in
with me. I even had a headache, Like the after
two days of it, I had like this earlyday. I
never get headache, so it must have been from the withdrawals. Yeah,
so I think this is great. I used to put
sugar in my coffee. Then I put Splendor, and then
I realized bad, bad, bad, bad bad concerning the amount
of mornings I drink coffee. And I also read more
(04:13):
about sugar and decided I made a choice to not
use it. Now I don't really want sweet. I don't
really want it. That's what he was saying. He was like,
you put it. It's the first thing you put in
your body, so you're going to crave it more throughout
the day, and you're gonna crash the first thing you're wanting. Yeah,
so twenty one days breaks to have it. Have you
(04:33):
done it yet? Twenty one days? No, I'm at like five.
It's okay. It's like pull ups right, one at a time,
the brutal. And then for dessert after dinner, we'll have
like watermelon. Isn't that still sugar? No? But I'm natural sugar.
Why don't you just not have dessert? That's the thing
that you need if you're trying to not have sugars,
(04:54):
stop dessert, Okay, but you gotta It's a process, bro. Yeah,
I'm trying to tell you the best process just cold turkey,
Like you just said cold turkey. Well, yeah, processed sugar
because after dinner, would like you can't have dates and cherry. Yeah,
I know, I would have like a cookie or chocolate
or some like. I think you've got to stop sugar
(05:15):
to get your body to not want Yes, processed you
refine sugar. That is a big step. But I really
admire it because once you have your breakthrough, you won't
really want it. You won't need the dessert. You won't
need that stuff in the morning. That's what I'm hoping
for because it's really I'm like, very addicted. Can you
(05:35):
tell a bit of a touchy subjects? I've seen her
in action. She can take down like five cut pakes.
It's very fascinating and she got very like, don't take
my fruit away from me. It's not that easy about
all right, listen to assist my hair thinning to you know, No,
(05:58):
I'm just looking at honestly it. I lost so much
hair after the pregnancy, and I've been using Ravella, which
is actually helping it grow. Back a lot. So I'm
very curious about this hack. I was actually saying your
name because I was vamping my brain so I could
look over at tubs to see if he might want
to partake in this. How you feel about your hair thickness? Uh?
(06:19):
It is, it's very fine, like light hair, but it's
not thinning like I want sugar. Alright, So here's the thing.
This was in this week's Woman's World magazine. A staple
on your coffee table that in Southern Living. If you're
(06:41):
concerned about thinning hair, eat more tacos, come on what
kind shrimp, fish and crab. It is those uh, items
from the sea that help with thickening hair. So you know,
I take a package of I don't know, pulverized marine
(07:02):
collagen in the morning, put in my coffee. You don't
know that tasty? Don't taste it. Polarized marine. It's like
marine collagen, but it's been powder form and I put
in my coffee. Literally can't keep up with you, and
I want to I want to keep I want to
keep my hair thick. That's what it does. That that's
what's for. Where do you get shipped from? What's it
(07:25):
called collagen? Marine layer, marine collagen, marine collagen. You even
noticed every guy red lobster's got great hair. I mean,
this is a research study the way. Let's go back
to the tacos. Why can't you just eat the fish?
Why does it have to be a taco? Well, I
think they're trying to make it seem more appetizing by saying,
(07:48):
have a shrimp taco or crab talker. But it's really
what's it's that crustacean or whatever it is? That a
crab taco? Interesting, Tony, What does it say about marine collagen? Well,
I'm just looking up like where you buy it, and
it comes in many forms. You can get it everywhere.
What are the benefits from Australia or something? Can you
get the benefits while you do that? Today's quote? Feelings
(08:09):
come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious
breathing is your anchor? All right? What'd you find out?
Let's see what do you do for your body? It
helps delay some signs of aging like wrinkles, joint issues
and weakness. Um. It also provides issues entrain on air
(08:33):
with Ryan Secrets. Oh we're still enjoying that, all right,
We just talking the benefits of marine collagen. Was there
anything else you discovered during b I g um? It
slows down the body body breaking down of its own collagen,
So so it just slows down the process of does
collagen thicken hair? Let's see. College is often recognized as
(08:56):
a potent solution for thickening hair. It may reduce hair
loss and boost her health. Get it, get me some
of this. Do you guys start trising about their hair thinning? Yeah? Okay, okay,
let's get to the headlines. Well, man, we can't catch
a break with these gas prices. The average price for
(09:18):
a gallon of gas and l A County is back
above six dollars. The average price has risen for the
last eighteen consecutive days, increasing twenty three point nine cents,
including five point six cents just on Saturday alone. It's
the largest increase since March nine. Southern California is known
for its many street vendors. Well, there's a new bill
(09:39):
in the works that would make it easier for them
to make a living. It would change the food retail
code so they would be able to get the proper
health permits. Among other things, the bill would eliminate some
expensive equipment requirements and intentionally incorporate sidewalk food vendors into
the code. And Courtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are merry
(10:00):
for real this time. They tied the knot in the
ceremony in Santa Barbara yesterday. They were seeing exchanging vows
on the steps of a courthouse, Travis dressed in all
black tuxedo and Courtney in a bridle white mini dress
with a veil. Her grandmother and his father were photographed
alongside them next to a black convertible with a large
sign that reads just married, So big congratulations to them
(10:24):
on air with Ryan Seacrest. Yeah, did you ever know
that there is an elementary school underneath Dodger Stadium? Buried
underneath there? No, but I knew there was a Dodger jail.
That me too, because you almost got I was for
standing on top of the dugout and you've come so
far trying to lead everybody the seventh inning stretched. They
(10:45):
all loved it. Let me bring in Evan love It
of Studio City. Now. Evan started this on TikTok. It's
a series called l A in a Minute. Evan, Good morning,
good morning, how are you appreciate you having me on.
Of course, we love Los Angele listen, and we love
the history and the food and the culture. Why did
you start to do this and show we, the people
(11:07):
who live here, what our city has to offer in
terms of rich history. Great question. Two reasons. Number one.
I started from my son, Uh, he is, as most
children eight years old, addicted to the screen. I was
sick and tired of taking the screen away from having
the fights. So we came up with this rule that said,
you need to learn something if you are going to
(11:29):
have screen time tomorrow. That dovetailed with the fact that, um,
you know, I am a l a Walk born and
raised native, um, very proud of my city. And I
realized that people were starting to do news on TikTok,
which sound a little bit silly now I'm old school.
I am a newspaper subscribing person, but I figured people
(11:51):
are getting news, yeah, literal news there. So people are
getting news on TikTok. What I was gonna do is
sit down with the l A Times every day and
distill in one minute what's going on Los Angeles. Put
that in front of my son. Hey, just you know,
you enjoy it. Report back what you learned, what you
retain from that, you can watch your screen time tomorrow.
But I think more importantly the overall goal was throughout
(12:12):
my entire life. I've heard the trope that Los Angeles
doesn't have culture, los Angeles doesn't have history, But the
truth is you just need to look for it. Around
every corner is something fascinating, something interesting. So if I
can sort of just contribute to people recognizing that Los
Angeles is this dynamic and fascinating city, then I'm gonna
go ahead and do that. Luckily, um, you know, pretty
(12:34):
quickly through the TikTok algorithm, was able to develop a
night's following and uh, you know, kept me motivated. It's
called at l A in a minute on TikTok and
Instagram and Evan, So you talked about the history of
food trucks, the history of why do we say the
four or five instead of four or five? So, um, basically,
(12:54):
since l A was the first city to be planned
around car culture and um, you know, car as the
ubiquitous transportation method, all of the freeways used to be
called by their their name, their locale um, the Royale Goo,
the the Pasadena Freeway, and that that was how he
(13:15):
referred to it was for the location name. And then
when they tried to codify everything and just you know,
make it more rigid with the numbers that the just
carried over. So was you know the Ventura Freeway. Will
it's still the it's the one oh one. Right. Well,
here's the thing, Evan discovering all these little gold mines
(13:37):
about Los Angeles. So I was just telling City Antonia
about the elementary school buried beneath Dodger Stadium. Tell us
about that. Oh, I'm glad you pulled that. That's one
of my favorite tidbits. And look, I'm a huge Dodger fan.
I mean, baseball has been my birth birth um, and
I knew about the history with Dodger Stadium and Chavez
(13:59):
R being very controversial at the time, very tragic for
the families that lived there, and we all no at
least elements of that. But again digging deeper, and there
was a book by by Eric Brightwell called Stealing Home
that I had read in kind of preparation for this piece,
and he gets into the gnarly details and it wasn't
just you know, moving the families, but it turns out,
you know, there was a community there and the Dodgers,
(14:23):
you know, when they had did when they did what
they did to build the stadium, and you know the
deal with the O'Malley's in the city instead of you know,
demolishing the elementary school, and I always go back and forth.
It's it more respectful to demolish at first, but either way,
they ended up just burying and building over the elementary school,
(14:44):
which is now located under the third base foul side
into the stands and extending out into the parking lot. Um.
So I found that like a very very fascinating tidbit. Yeah,
that there's an element buried under there. Fascinating. Well. Evan
loved Studio City born and raised l a In a
minute before we let you go, they tell me that
(15:05):
you're working on the history of Kiss FM. Oh, absolutely true.
I put that together. I was inspired. I did a
Carneys piece recently, and it turns out that the person
who founded Carneys actually was the person responsible for Kiss
FM swapping from its adult contemporary format in nineteen seventy
(15:27):
five to the top forty format if you will, of
nineteen seventy Also in nineteen seventy five, when Charlie Tuneau
was running the show back then. No, you see, I did.
We didn't know that and we work here. That's hey.
I mean, I got all kinds of tidbits for you.
Did you know that Kiss FM K I I S
(15:48):
is named kiss because the AM frequency at the time
was on a M If you remember old pager code,
that's the way I relate to it. WON one five
looks like I I S. So they decided to do
Kiss FM. So that's why we have two eyes I
I We're big fans. I'm glad you're doing this. Make
(16:14):
sure you check out this stuff here in southern califorint
a lot of fun at l A in a minute,
Evan love it, take care, brother, thank you for connecting.
Thank you all. I really appreciate you, and have a
great day l A. I appreciate you, guys. See you bye.
Spirit of l A. And that guy and I like it.
I love that his last name is love it. Which
way is the beach? Ryan? Okay, so you said two
(16:37):
celebrities tany in the trending report that you admire y
are going public about their therapy. Go ahead, Yes, So
the first one I'm talking about is our Girl Hills stuff.
She was on the cover of Women's Health magazine and
she was opening up a lot, mostly about her relationship
with her body, but she also talked about her mental health,
(17:00):
and so she talks to her son Luca about it
all the time, and she basically tells him, you know,
if you ever get tired of talking to your friends
and family about things, you can always go to therapy.
So he's young, but she wants him to know that, like,
this is available, this is a good outlet. And she said,
I love my therapist, and I always feel better when
I leave because I can say whatever I want and
not feel judged. Everybody needs that and then someone else
(17:24):
I admire very much. Harry Styles opened up about his
journey with therapy in in the Better Homes and Gardens interview.
It was like an extended version. And he used to
think that he never needed therapy, thought that it meant
that you were broken, and so he started going to
therapy um and he says, it's just benefited so much
from it. And I feel like I too started going
(17:44):
to therapy in my adult life, like recently, I think
within the last year and a half. And I've always
thought the same thing too, Like I can handle my
problems on my own, Like I'm strong, I got this.
But therapy really kind of lets you figure out like
kind of why you live the way that you live,
why you tick, why certain things upset you, because it
(18:05):
all comes from your past and you really can kind
of dig into that and then kind of change your
ways for the better. I think it's great that everybody's
talking about this now. Is it weird so you talk
about your experiences with your therapist on this show all
the time? Is it weird if I asked you, oh,
who is it to go see them as well? Like?
(18:25):
What if we saw the same therapist? I feel like
that that's weird, right, I think it's weird. Uh, I
don't think it's weird because I can't share. No, they
can't share, and I don't really I don't talk about you.
So what if you wanted to? Yeah, I wouldn't want
to share a therapist with one of my friends. No,
I think you're right to. I think it would be
(18:46):
a little too close to home. You know, honestly, I'm
I'm a giver and I love her and she's so
good that I wouldn't care. You could? You can use her,
but he doesn't want Yeah, thank you for him. They
I was entertaining the idea like, no, I don't think so.
But you always think like the way you think, that
way you handle situations, and the way you live your
life is like the right way. That's why you're doing it.
(19:08):
But a therapist kind of helps you see everything from
like I don't think I handle situations the right way.
I don't think that ever. I think they're just emotional right.
I don't have it figured out. No, I know that
I don't hand them. Well, I just like that's what
I got. You need her for sure, I need her friend,
(19:29):
not her. I'm not going to do I'm not gonna
pass you and p Three of the Therapist Building Z
It's time for Ryan's roses. Listen to this. Jenny says
her husband and she spent a lot of the year apart.
(19:49):
He has to be in d C but the first
part of the year and then he works in l
A the second part of the year. The other night,
she said she was going to bed and she got
on find my friends, and he was not where he
was supposed to be. So, Jenna, thanks for coming on.
So I'm just trying to understand, so you cann't find
my friends? And was he in d C or l
(20:10):
A at the time that you searched for him? He
was in d C. And where is he supposed to be? Well,
usually he's in this part of North Virginia in this housing.
He stayed there all four years, the same place that
he's always at. And when I went and find my friends,
he was at some random house that's not this area
(20:32):
at all. And doesn't he know that you have to
find your friends Radar? Yeah, I mean we've that was
part of you know, when he started. It was something
that I could do with the girls. We could see
your daddy that like this is not of course he's awhere,
Like yeah, why why I'm just trying to understand that
(20:52):
little the conecs. Why is your head jumping to the
conclusion of not good? I don't know. I just had
this gut feeling. It was late and I don't usually
check it at night, Like I don't usually check it
unless I'm with the girls name ont us hear their
dad's at just for fun, Like I just don't do
that on my own. I never have that instinct. But
for some reason, my gut was just like check Signed
(21:14):
my Friends, like something's wrong, And I did, and he
wasn't home, But could he be at a co worker's
house or you know something. Now they're working on a
project somewhere. I mean it was two o'clock in the morning.
M hmm. Maybe he did. You ask him about that, yeah,
and he denies it. He doesn't know why it said that.
(21:35):
He says that he was at home asleep. Jenna just
told us that her husband was on Find my Friends,
not where he said he was going to be, and
not where he was supposed to be, So she thinks
he's hiding something. He works in d C part of
the year and that's where he was, so out of
state and not where he told her he was. She
just looked it up on that radar. It seems like
(21:58):
he was not trying to hide it because you can
only turn off your location so that you can't be tracked.
So it's you know, like the fact that he left
it on maybe is a good sign. Show Jenna, I
need you to say, Ryan, you my permission to call,
and then his name on kiss him. Go ahead, Ryan,
you have my permission to call. All right, we're gonna
do that now, be very quiet. Let's see we can
(22:19):
find out. Okay, Jenna, okay, Hello, Hi is this Seth speaking?
Hi Seth. My name is Gail. I'm calling from Gis Flowers.
How are you doing this morning? I'm good, Gail? How
(22:42):
are you? I'm good? Thank you. We're in Echo Park
and actually offering local residents of promotion today. Free dozen
red roses, red, pink or white. You can choose and
we can write a note and send them out this afternoon.
Is that something you'd be interested? Oh? Wow? Really, free roses,
absolutely free. I don't need any cash or credit card
info from you. We just hope that you refer as
a friends and family and come back as a pain
(23:04):
returning customer. Oh wow, uh yeah, okay, so um great.
You can send them to send them a Wendy. Hang on,
let me I want to grab the address for your
real quick all right, And in the meantime, what would
you like to say on the card for Wendy? Uh?
You know what? You can just put? How about put
I love you this too shall pass? Love Richie, I
(23:28):
love you this too shall pass Love Love Ritchie Love Ritchie. Yeah,
it's yeah. It's a friend of behind. He and his
wife are kind of kind of going through it. They're
going through a bit of a hard time, so I
think let's be a nice thing for them. Um, okay,
so you're right, your voice broadcast on the radio. I'm
(23:51):
just gonna jump in here and get to the bottom
of this. Thank you for agreeing to come on. I
have your wife, Jenna on the line. Oh okay, let
me let me back up a second. So we're calling
you because your wife had information that you were in
a certain location. Then she checked her find my Friends
(24:14):
radar on the phone and you were where you said
you were, and she thinks that suspect. So why were
you in a different place while you were away out
of state working? No, Look, this is we've already talked
about this, okay. I I don't know why. I have
no idea why I would say that I was back
at home in bed like every night, and I don't
(24:35):
know why it says that. But this is great because
a friend and now she's got you guys involved. Well,
what happened? Why the confusion here? I had no idea.
I don't know what is going on with any of
that app stuff. I was at home in bed every night.
We've talked about this a bunch, and you know this
has been going on. We've been doing this for several
(24:56):
years and it's been really tough, so I don't know
what's happening. So, Jenna, does this make any sense to you?
I'm trying to piece it together. I just I just
don't understand why after four years of you being where
you said you're going to be on the app, I
check it this one time. It's the middle of the
(25:16):
night and you're not where you're supposed to be. Like
that just doesn't jive. I mean, it's like completely, It's
just it's never failed before. On my phone drops calls
all the time. I don't know why that would say that.
I have no idea. I promise you I was exactly
where I said I was going to be. Richie and
Wendy do you know they're going through a tough time.
(25:38):
I just wanted to do something nice, that's all. I
don't know why you wouldn't send him to me after
we've been talking. Writing a love note from your best
friend to his wife is strange because I think it's yeah,
it's Jenna, we're gonna have to go here. But do
(26:02):
you think your husband is cheating on you? And Seth.
That's what we're calling about. I most certainly I'm not
cheating on my wife. I'd like to believe that he's not.
But I think that we just have to talk this
out a little bit more, and maybe I need to
go and visit. Maybe I need to go and bring
the girls. Why would I cheat on you. I have
no reason to cheat on you. This is already tough enough.
(26:24):
Bring the girls. Yes, that would be great. Okay, all right, guys,
thank you very much, good luck. I don't know that
he's cheating. Didn't sound like he's cheating. Did you think
he's cheating? I guess not. But it was just so
strange that he wrote a love note to his friend's
(26:44):
wife as his friend. So that's what was bizarre. Okay,
we say send the roses to whom He's like, oh, Wendy,
I love you. This two shall pass. We're like, oh
my gosh, she's sending the roses to another woman, not
his wife, Jenna. And then he's like love Ritchie, and
he explains to Cysney, oh, they're fighting, so he's going
to step in to try and bridge the gap, bring
(27:07):
them together by sending this love note. No, I I
think the intent might be heartfelt, but you don't get
involved in other people's fights by pretending to the other
person's forgiving you and assume their position. I mean, it
just it's not a good idea. But if Richie came
to him and was like confiding in him and saying,
I really want to make this right. I don't know
(27:28):
what to do, and then boom call from florists offering
me free flowers, and it was like a sign from
the universe that he just needed to step That's like
if if if Cyny and Michael were having an argument
and we wrote a note like that with flowers on
Sisney's behalf, that's crossing a big line. I'd be very upset. Well,
(27:53):
what are they the same? But yeah, I'd be very upset. Exactly,
stay out of that. How dare you write what I'm
thinking in my own personal husband wife. Yeah, you don't
know why, you don't know what's going on, you don't
know who's in the wrong. But what if Sisney confided
in us and said, I really I know this is
(28:14):
what's going on, this is what's wrong. I really just
need some sort of gesture to Michael. I mean, did
Sisney say please write a letter. No, since you would
do it, let me ask lose. I don't listen, North Hills.
Let's go ahead. You're on with us? Go ahead? Hi
h So you know, honestly, I've been accused of this before. Um,
(28:38):
I'm like, I was a traitor Joe's once and my
boyfriend accused me of cheating because I was coming up
at a different location. But I was literally a traitor Joe's.
So I feel like sin my friends is not accurate.
I don't you know what I mean, like, and it's
so frustrating, but I hope that they can work it out.
Because you were gadget. You were accused of being with
(29:00):
someone else. Yes, because my location, like I was at
traitor Joe's, but it was coming up my little dot
was coming up at a different location. So my boyfriend
thought I was like teating on him, but I was
literally a trader Joe. So so it's not pinpoint percision.
I believe I told you guys about an app that
(29:20):
has pinpoint precision. It's got right words? What it three words? Yeah,
you told me and I told other people that's what
it was. Okay, Anyway, there's another app that can pinpoint
exactly where you're standing under which door threshold? It's called
what's three words? I appreciate Colin, thank you? What three?
Isn't that funny? Sometimes I think I saw that somewhere,
(29:44):
but you actually told me that, and I own it.
That's fine in real life with other people, but not
to me, because I'm the one that told you about.
A friend of mine named Rich says to me, Hey,
you know, wife and I look for a little weekend
getaway and I recommend this little place. Like eight months later,
(30:04):
guy comes to me and he's a front of mine
and he says, Oh, I meant to tell you I
found this great place I wanted to tell you about
if you ever wanted to go for a little romantic
get away. I'm like, dude, I recommended that place for you.
This is not happening. Can you share the Well, you're
not ready for this level of romance. Text on air
(30:27):
with Ryan Secret, So pocketing? Have I ever been pocketed?
Since he's asking you dating thing, are you a pocket? Pocket? Well? So,
like I do ask sometimes for someone my keys, that's
not pocketing. He explained to him what it is. Why
(30:48):
do you know what it is? Because I just read
about this. Why does Tanya know because I read about
it too. Well, thanks for the subscription, that's why we're here. Okay.
So pocketing is when a person hides their partner from
the world, more specifically they're close friends, their family. It's
excuse after excuse, So it's like a metaphorical term of
(31:10):
putting them in your pocket, but they don't get to
see the light of day when it comes to your
personal life objects. It's similar maybe to soft launching, like
when you kind of like soft launch your partner on
Instagram or social media, just show like their hand or
like two cups of coffee or things like that. But
this is the whole other like you're not introducing them
to your family probably or your close knit group of friends.
(31:32):
Pocket because there's different reasons why. Some people do it
maliciously because they're evil, and some people not malicious. But
I think some people do it because maybe they're not
proud of it's getting there. No, that would be malicious.
If you're not proud of them when you're dating, then
why are you dating them? But some people do it
because they maybe just got out of a relationship and
(31:53):
they're not ready to introduce another person to their group
of friends or their family for whatever reason. So in
that case, fine, or they're scared to fall for somebody new,
so they're just keeping a distance. But this is a
new dating term and it's going around. And I for
sure was pocketed in my early twenties college years. I
was pocketed all the time, and it made me feel insecure.
(32:17):
Pocketed meaning whomever you were dating didn't share your introductment.
They never like they never wanted they met my family,
but they never wanted me to meet their parents or
they're like siblings or like really and get me involved
in that would make you crazy, yeah, you know, and
we ended up obviously breaking up, but it was just
like I felt insecure, And it makes you feel like
they're ashamed of you or something. So what if is
(32:38):
there the opposite of pocketing, Like you just wanted to
take them everywhere and introducing everybody and take them to
all the stuff and all the things. That's just like
the best case scenario. You don't want to be pocketed.
But like I think also there comes up time, like
if you keep it pocketed for a little bit and
then there's all this build up and then it's like
a lot of pressure is put on a big reveal,
(33:01):
and so then you just kind of keep putting it off,
putting it off, and then before you know, you're pocketed
for like six months. What if you bread crumb your pocket.
If you bread crumb your pocket, then I think you're
double mean. No, your bread crumbing your pockets. You're slowly
introducing them to people. Everybody want bread crumbing. I know
what benching is. Okay, Okay, benching is something completely different.
(33:24):
Benching and bread crumbing, these are all related, aren't they know?
Benching somebody is like when you want to keep them
as a backup plan, so they're they're on your bench.
And then bread crumbing is when you lead them on
with messages like, oh I love you so much, you're
the one, but then you're never really the one. Then
is pickpocketing when you rescue someone from the situation and
treat them like they deserve to be treated from being pocketed.
(33:46):
Pickpocketing is illegal and you will go to jail if
you steal from someone. I'm stopped. I'm out of the
whole program, over my head, just a pocket. I like
that this show has follow up calls because to me,
it's one big season of episodes. You don't. You streams
(34:07):
something and you wait for the next one, the next one,
the next one. Well, this is one big season, and
when we hear an issue and we get a follow
up call, it's like the next episode, right, So remember this.
There was a woman that was from Atlanta that just
moved here and she knew one person here in l A.
(34:27):
And people can relate to that moving to a city
you don't know anyone really And the guy that she
knew um was friends with Haley's mom, right, So it
was kind of like Tana's and I. The only reason
I lived with Tannaz is because my parents knew that
Tenna's parents and that was the one person they let
me be roommates with when I was eighteen, wating to
(34:48):
move out her on my own. So Jim Haley found
herself catching feelings for the guy, not me and Tannaz
I didn't have that. She feels like if she tells
him how she feels, she may push away the only
person she knows in la So it's risky for her.
She wants a friend in l A, but she also
like romantically kind of into it. She doesn't want to
screw it up, but she wants to go for it
(35:09):
if it's real. Yeah, and we told her to go
for it. She's yeah, we I think we should go
for it. And somebody said, blame it on the alcohol. Yeah,
so Haley is back in Encino. Well, Haley, we've brought
everybody up to speed. What's happened since we spoke Okay, So, um,
(35:29):
we got some Margarita's like you told me to do. Um.
We just hung out a couple more times. Um, because
me to Hollywood Boulevard, which was a lot of grocers
than I expected, just like people everywhere and like people
in weird costumes and shirtless guys, the snakes around them. Yeah,
(35:49):
to say the least. Um. But then last week I
told him I would make dinner to you know, pay
him back for showing you around so much. And um,
he came over and I'm made like this lemon chicken
pasta dish. I'm really not a great cook, but I
gave it my best shot. Um, and I think it
was okay. Um. But anyway, like we we had some wine,
(36:10):
we watched a little bit of Death on the Nile
and HBO Max. Um, Like I got really close to
him and I made it really clear that I was interested. Um,
and you know, like long story short, like we made
out of it, and it was it was pretty heated,
but we stopped before it went too far. Um. And
now it's kind of weird texting, but it's it's not
(36:32):
like it was. It seems sort of awkward and forced.
I don't know. I honestly, I think I might have
wouined everything. And I don't know what to do now.
But if he kissed you, then he's feeling the same way, right,
I mean I thought so, but then his text, I
don't know. It's just it's it's weird. I don't know
how to complain it, like, but it's just something that's off. Now,
(36:54):
how did it end that night? You said you stopped
once it got kind of heated, Like how did you
guys say goodbye? Um? Like you know, we we didn't
really finish the movie. We kind of like pause it. Um,
it's like sort of pulled away before things got you know,
too far, and then um, he just sort of like left,
like give me a quick little like goodbye kiss and
(37:17):
just left and like you know, we said we would
text and can you at least keep it normal until
you find another friend? So you're not totally without friends. Yeah,
I would like to, Um, I'm doing my best. I
don't know. I guess I can't really tell where he's at,
and I feel like I'm a little scared to like
(37:40):
just ask exactly what's going on, because yeah, like I
don't want to leave the only friends that I have.
Can you hang out with him again soon? Yeah? And
just keep it casual, keep it cash. Yeah, let's take
a little pressure off. Yeah, I think so. Well, Haley, Look,
this is not uncommon, right, this is not uncommon. I
will tell you that the same thing happened to me
(38:01):
in a different way, completely different way. But we were friends.
We made out and things, and then that was it
because it was totally different, everybody moved away. I'm sure
he's feeling weird and insecure too, Like he probably things
that you're not into it, Like who who knows what's
going through his head? Yeah? All right, Well, try and
have a low pressure moment or two. Keep that alive
(38:27):
while you meet people here in l A. Alright, Hey, like,
good luck, good luck, Thank god we never made out.
Who's we Ryan and I? You guys had a chance.
It was a moment when you and Ryan were going
to make out. There was never a moment. No, I'm
just saying, thank god we never did. But like, how
could you? I don't know because we were both single. Yeah,
but that doesn't mean we're gonna make out a lot
(38:49):
of single people in this building. Did you want to
at one point? No? No, no, no no, no, think
clearly you did. Thank thank god we you you wanted
to make out with Ryan? Sorry? Right not ill like
you know what I mean, this is not going well
for either side. Your and she doesn't want to, Like
(39:11):
this is not a win win win win. But thank
god we didn't because why because what if it was
awkward and then go to work together every day but
like look at each other and spend hours. That's why
we wouldn't. I wouldn't have made out with you because
of that. Just because of that. Yeah, what's the route
(39:31):
with air with Ryan's secrets? It's Ryan Seacrest here Monday morning,
maxt Cicy and Tanya here as well. Five to one
or two seven. I do have five hundred dollars in
spring cash to give to you in a second, and
(39:54):
that's when you qualify to win a brand new Ford
Broncos Sport Brittany, good morning. How you doing good? How
are you? We're doing well? So your boyfriend started to
wear makeup and what's the issue? Um? I guess it
just kind of took me by surprise, like and it
kind of made me check my biases. But like, what
(40:16):
does this mean for sexuality? Doesn't mean anything for sexuality?
How can I be more inclusive? Like is there more
biases that I need? Can you tell us about the transition?
So he was not wearing anything and then just start
putting on what? Um, he kind of just started with
like lipstick and eyeshadow, but now it's more like a
(40:37):
full face and you're just confused by it. Yeah, I
guess like since it kind of just came out of
like nowhere, Like he's kind of more of like the
like manly man frat boy type when I met him,
but like over the period that we've been dating, he's
become like more feminine, which I kind of I like
(40:59):
it it. Um just I think the makeup came out
of like left fields. So so, but Brittany, have you
asked him why he's doing it? No? I just I
don't know how to bring it up, Like I don't
want to like scare him or I think the same
way you're talking to us. Yeah, exactly. It's not like
(41:21):
it's not an apparent thing, right, It's not something you're
like thinking about it, something you see. It's like it's
physically there. So I think it's very and he might
want you to ask him, to be honest with you.
He might be waiting for you to ask him about this,
which could be very telling. And then how fun you
guys can go makeup shopping together and like share that.
(41:43):
That'd be so fun. So I think you're comfortable with it,
so ask him. It's just eyeing. It's stranger to not
say anything, right, I mean, you guys are together, you
should be able to talk about it. Let's see what
he's trying to I think he might be trying to
get you to ask the question, So why would start
with that approach? Brittany, Okay, is there any like topics
(42:06):
or anything I should avoid that way? I don't come
off as like kind of like, I guess, not biased,
but rude or insensitive or like ask him in a
way that he thinks that I'm not inclusive of it.
I don't think there is. I think if you're just
completely honest and that you're open and just want to
(42:27):
find out more. Yeah. I think also it's just it's
just it's like a change and change in his routine.
You know, like if my significant other wasn't never went
to the gym, then allviously start going to the the gym
every single day. I'd be like, where's this coming from?
You know, like, yeah, I think that's cool, Brittany. I
think so you just you just as his partner. You
just want to understand the new look or the new
(42:50):
vibe or whatever. Right, well, good luck, thanks for con
I think it would be stranger if you're like in
a relationship with somebody and you notice it and they
obviously are doing it to be noticed. You're doing that
like you put accessories on or you do something so
that there there's notice he starts wearing earrings and stuff
like that that she's got to say something. I just
(43:14):
look at yours like you want to hear some I
don't know, but I think like when I was in
my early thirties, I thought, would that be a cool look?
I think there would back then, yes, yeah, back then, right, yeah,
that was the look a stud No, like a little hoop,
a little thing like David Silver on to a. That's it,
that's it right. But then at my time past, no,
(43:35):
Now Warren just got one or maybe like, well, when
was he here last? I guess that's been years. Huh,
who now, Warren? No one? Norman's got one one or
two point seven? Kiss him. It's time for Ryan's roses.
(43:59):
Listen to this, Jenna says her husband, and she spent
a lot of the year apart. He has to be
in d C, but the first part of the year,
and then he works in l A the second part
of the year. The other night, she said she was
going to bed and she got on find my friends,
and he was not where he was supposed to be. So, Jenna,
thanks for coming on. So I'm just trying to understand.
(44:22):
So you cann't find my friends? And was he in
d C or l A at the time that you
searched for him? He was in d C. And where
is he supposed to be? Well, usually he's in this
part of North Virginia, in this housing. He stayed there
all four years, the same place that he's always at.
And when I went and find my friends, he was
(44:43):
at some random house that's not this area at all,
And doesn't he know that you have to find your
friends radar. Yeah, I mean we that was part of
you know, when he started. It was something that I
could do with the girl girls, we could see her
daddy at like this is not of course he's aware,
(45:04):
Like yeah, why why, I'm just trying to understand that
little the college. Why is your head jumping to the
conclusion of not good? I don't know. I just had
this gut feeling. It was late, and I don't usually
check it at night, Like I don't usually check it
unless I'm with the girls. They want to see their
dads at just for fun, Like I just don't do
that on my own. I never have that instinct. But
(45:27):
for some reason, my gut was just like, check sign
my friends, like something's wrong. And I did. And he
wasn't home. But could he be at a co worker's
house or you know something. Now they're working on a
project somewhere. I mean, it was two o'clock in the morning.
M hmm. Maybe did you ask him about that? Yeah,
(45:48):
And he denies it. He doesn't know why it said that.
He says that that he was at home asleep. Interesting. Alright,
hold on for one second, let's uh see what we
can line out. We will make the cult to your
husband one or two point seven kids of him on
