This week I've been reflecting on my kids and their accomplishments. I couldn't be prouder of them, and the life that they've created for themselves, but it hasn't always been easy. They are adaptable and resilient and more than prepared to embark on life filled with possibilities and opportunities.

We all seek that elusive "balance" in our lives, some of us are more successfully than others. It's a simple concept but much more difficult to attain especially with so many competing priorities. For me it's about being conscious and endeavouring to do your best. As the famed writer, Oscar Wilde once said "everything in moderation, including moderation"...

"I am the master of my fate, the captain of my soul"
The immortal words from the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley makes it clear to me that we are responsible for living our best life. And that ultimately, our thoughts, words and actions dictate in what circumstance we choose to live it.

In this week's episode we explore the concept of "finding your tribe". Yes, those like minded individuals that come into our lives to help us on our journey of self discovery. Sometimes these people come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Our tribe often brings a new level of energy, understanding and alignment that helps us connect and move forward.

As we all know the old adage "you can't judge a book by it's cover" is so true, yet at some point in our lives we've all done just that... This to me tells me more about the person making the judgement and their insecurities than the person in the crosshairs. Just take a moment to think about the times you've been on either side of this situation.
Makes you think doesn't it?

Inspiration comes in many different forms. For me personally it's about those special people, places and gifts that inspire me to be my best every single day. Some of you may think it strange that I've identified gifts as an inspiration, but it's the gifts that I give to myself that motivate me to live my best life.

The older I get the more I've come to trust my gut instincts. I must admit that it wasn't always the case and for a time I'd seemed to have lost my belief and confidence in following my gut. However, it's now clear to me that to live your best life it means trusting your senses and being brave enough to make the difficult decisions when you sense something is as it seems.

We're all "imperfectly perfect" in our own way. Each of us has a backstory that we don't often share, however it's these experiences that have forged us into who we are today. It's human nature to portray ourselves in the best possible light, but I've realized that the be true to ourselves we need to be okay with revealing all of ourselves, both the good and not so good.
