Juliana Barbati (00:00):
Whether you are looking to start a new podcast

(00:03):
or you have a podcast, but youwant to take it to the next
level you want to grow yourshow. Today I am sharing with
you the things that you need tomake sure that you don't sleep
on the you don't miss out on. Soyou actually see growth on your
podcast because here's thething, on a podcast, every
little thing that we do counts,we do have to make sure that we

(00:24):
are being super ninja when itcomes to the strategies that
we're implementing, and we'renot missing a beat. So I'm so
excited to spill the beans andshare all the strategies with
you. Well, let's do this.
Welcome to the organic marketingsimplified podcast. I'm your
host, Juliana. And around here,we replace endless hustle with

(00:45):
smart, focused strategies foryour business growth. If you're
fed up with tactics to overpromise and under deliver,
leaving you exhausted instead ofexcited, this is the podcast for
you. Get ready to dive intodeeper practical podcasting
tips, smart monetization andgrowth tactics that bring your
business visibility and profits. It's time to simplify your

(01:07):
strategy and amplify yoursuccess. Let's go.
Like I said, when it comes topodcasting, every little thing
that you do pounce, so you doneed to pay attention to all the
things and how everything goestogether. Now, if you are like
starting a podcast, or maybeyou're thinking about a rebrand,

(01:27):
and you're like stuck there, then I want to invite you to
listen to last week's episode371, where I talk to you about
how to title your podcastcorrectly, so that you can get
the most amount of visibilityfrom the get go. Now if you're
past that stage where you havethe name, then go ahead and
stick around here. But if youhave not even picked out a new

(01:48):
image and make sure they goahead and listen to episode 271,
so you know where to start.
Now, after having the amazingkiller name, the next thing that
you do need to focus on isreally good branding. And the
thing about the podcast app isthat literally, the thumbnail is
like so tiny on the screen. Soyou do need to make sure that it

(02:11):
is on point. So your cover art,you do need to give time and
thought to your cover art.Because if your cover art is not
attractive, then people are notgoing to want to listen because
we're making those decisionslike in a split second. So if I
do a search for a podcast and apodcast app and your podcast
comes up, but also 3, 4, 5, 7others. And the next thing I'm

(02:34):
going to judge you guys on ishow does the podcast look. So if
your cover art, looks like athree year old, made it on
camera, and it's very busy, andthere's a lot going on, it does
not look professional, I'm notgoing to listen to you.
And again, I'm making decisionsin a split second it's all I
come literally sitting here andlike 30 judging your cover art.

(02:56):
But as human beings, like we'rejust subconsciously just making
those decisions very quickly. Wedon't even know why we do what
we do, but we're doing it. Somake sure that your cover art is
amazing. It's beautiful. And Ijust want to remind you that I
have a shop and this out of thatshop, we have assets that you
can mine. So for example, wehave a podcast pack. And it

(03:16):
comes with different cover artsthat you can buy, along with
many other different things tohelp you organize yourself and
your podcasting journey. So makesure that you check it out. And
I'll make sure to link that inthe show notes for you. But,
making sure that your podcastcover art is on point and it's
beautiful. And it actuallyattracts people to you is the

(03:38):
way to go.
Now, if you're not very savvywith creating your own graphics,
and this is a time where you'dwant to buy a template, like
from a shop, for example. Or ifyou want my agency to just do it
for you, guess what, we do takecare of that for you. So that is
an option for you as well. Butthe point is, if you're not very

(03:59):
savvy with the graphics, andit's just maybe you have a
graphic right now, that could beimproved upon, then go ahead and
do take the time and energy in,put a little money behind your
cover art to make sure that itis attracting people because if
your cover art sucks, let's justcall it for what it is that
people are just not going totake the time and listen because

(04:21):
remember, we're making thosedecisions in a split second. And
if your cover arch does not lookattractive, I am not going to
look it's basically like thecover of a book. And when you
compare a book to podcasts, honestly, they're both assets.
Except if you were to go aheadand publish your book, you most

(04:41):
likely wouldn't do it yourselfunless you are a very creative
and like a graphic designer, right? Like you would have
somebody who is a professionalwork on your book cover for you.
So make sure that you paid thissame kind of attention when it
comes to your podcast cover artas well.
Now I've already mentioned this, but I'm gonna say it again, the

(05:02):
title of your podcast needs tobe on point as well. So go ahead
and relisten to episode 371,where I break down what makes a
good successful title. But thetitle of your podcast is should
be descriptive, it should bebenefited driven, I shouldn't be
able to look at the title ofyour podcast and know what I'm
going to get out of it just bythe title alone, because

(05:24):
remember, every little thingcounts in the podcast world.
It's not like for example,YouTube, that you have the
channel art and then you havedifferent thumbnails in there
are different ways to brandyourself like on a podcast, it's
this is it, this is what youget.
So because of that, becauseeverything counts, you do need

(05:44):
to make sure that every littlething that you're doing is
actually helping you not keepingyou from growing. So if you have
like this catchy name, and it'screative, but it's not really
helping you with visibility thatwe need to go ahead and do
something about that. So episode371 has all the 411 for you.

(06:05):
Now, of course, I cannot let yougo without talking about SEO,
optimizing everything. So yourepisode titles they do need,
they must be SEO optimized, because that is going to help
you with visibility. The podcastapp is a search engine. So
treated as such, the differencebetween the podcast app being a
search engine in like a searchengine, like Google, for

(06:26):
example, is that it's mucheasier for you to rank inside of
the podcast app. And it's easierfor you to see that you are
ranking and doesn't take thatmuch time. Whereas on Google,
you have to be very diligentabout things and h1 tags, and h2
tags, and h3 tags, and all ofthese things and blogging, blah,
blah, blah, whereas on thepodcast is very simple. It's
very straightforward. But you doneed to make sure that you are

(06:48):
SEO optimizing correctly, because a lot of people think
they are SEO optimizing but thenwhen it comes down to it, it's
not SEO optimized at all.
So make sure that you go backand listen to all the podcast
episodes that I have on SEOoptimization and make sure to
link shows for you down below soyou can go ahead and binge on
those episodes as well. But thepoint is, making sure that your

(07:09):
titles are SEO optimized isgoing to be key for your growth.
Now, if you have a podcast rightnow, and you believe her SEO
optimizing, and you're still notseeing the growth, then chances
are you're not SEO optimizing atall, let us think you might be
SEO optimizing, but you'reactually not SEO optimizing. So
in that case, stop what you'redoing. And go back and listen to
episode 367, where I break downdifferent keywords that you

(07:33):
should be using and how to goabout them. So that you can
actually understand how thisworld of SEO and keywords come
together. So that again isEpisode 367, which we'll leave
linked for you down in the shownotes as well.
The next piece of this podcastsuccess of recipe if you will,
is for you to have a catchypodcast description. Now here's

(07:56):
the thing, not everybody isgoing to go ahead and read your
podcasts description. But somepeople do. The reason why
podcast descriptions exists isfor a reason because some people
do enjoy reading them andgetting to know you before they
commit to listening to you. Sowe cannot just forget about the
people that do like to read theshow description. So make sure

(08:18):
that your show description.Again, that's descriptive that
is engaging that hooks yourlistener in any gives them a
reason to stay. Because in aworld where there's so much
content being created everysingle minute, you need to make
sure that you give people reasonto stick around. And make sure
that again, your showdescription is benefit driven so

(08:39):
the person was landing on yourshow, they know why they should
stick around.
Aside from that, here's thething, your show description
will help you with SEOoptimization. Not that
necessarily inside of the applepodcasts app. But in general,
every time that you put keywordsanywhere in the interwebs. It's
either helping you or not doinganything at all for you. So make

(09:02):
sure that you are SEO optimizedin there because everything
works together. And like I said, even though it doesn't
necessarily help you in theApple podcast app, it is helping
you in the big scheme of things, especially for the people who do
enjoy reading short descriptionsbefore they commit to you. It is
important that you have yourshow description on there, that
it has all the amazing keywords. And he hooks people in and gives

(09:25):
them a reason to stay and itgets them excited before they
even get to listen to yourvoice.
Now, saying this topic of SEOoptimization. Can you tell I
love SEO and I'm an SEO geek. The next thing that you need to
do is actually SEO optimizershownotes. Now, again, this is
an area that it doesn'tnecessarily help you with the
Apple podcast app. But we stilltake the time to SEO optimize

(09:47):
our show notes because it doeshelp in the big scheme of
things. Take the time to SEOoptimizer because you never know
if somebody's gonna go on Googleand like search for something in
Google because this is whatGoogle does. Google ranks you
and Google was taking a locateat your podcasts and your
keywords and all of thosethings. You don't know if Google
is actually going to put yourpodcast episode in front of that

(10:08):
person because of how youoptimize your show notes. So
make sure that you are takingthe time to SEO optimize your
show notes as well, because shownotes tend to be second thought
people don't really payattention to them. People don't
think they're valuable, or theymight put a sensor to.
Actually take time to SEOoptimize your show notes and
give a description. And again, there are people out there who

(10:29):
will read the show notes. Andjust because you yourself don't
read the show notes doesn't meanthat other people don't do it.
So you need to make sure thatyou are thinking about the
different people that listen toyour podcast. And there might be
people who are actually takingthe time to read your show notes
before they decide to commit. Somake sure that you give people

(10:50):
reason to stay and listen toyour podcast episode by SEO
optimzing your show notes. Andalso making it intriguing and
fun and thought provoking into. And the goal is, of course to
hook them in and give them areason to listen.
Now, I'd love to help youactually get farther and farther
ahead in your podcastingjourney. Whether you're

(11:10):
starting, or whether you alreadyhave a podcast, I would love to
help you. So I have a programcalled the profitable podcast
blueprint, where I share withyou step by step what you need
to do to have a successfulpodcast. And this is the
information that I've takenmyself as a podcaster, who
started a podcast like tonightis of no one and now I have a

(11:31):
top half percent rankingpodcast, which is bananas for me
to say. But I have taken all theknowledge and not just from my
own personal journey, but alsoeverything that we do inside of
my podcast marketing productionagency, because yes, I do own an
agency as well. So me by reverseengineer, we're seeing getting

but you also have access to me.So the information is linked

for somebody who's actuallygoing to take care of everything

(12:15):
that I just mentioned above foryou. So making sure that your
branding is on point and yourSEO is on point to make sure
that your shows are optimizedand then we're going to recycle
your content then you want towork with me inside of the
agency. So leave the informationfor the agency linked in the
show notes as well. And again, whether you're starting a
podcast or whether you're youalready have a podcast and you

(12:35):

wherever you are on your journeyeither with myself based hybrid
program or with the agency andthe done for you services that
we offer.
Now, by this point in mypodcasting journey between my
podcast and my clients podcasts,I have SEO optimized way over

(12:57):
1000 podcast episodes titles. Icannot even know how many
