Juliana Barbati (00:00):
Last week on Episode 365, I talked to you
about how to turn your podcastinto your 24/7 sales team. But I
hinted at this episode, and Itold you there was a secret, the
glue that really holds this alltogether, because it's not just
as simple as just putting yourepisodes out there and walking

(00:22):
away, there is something thatholds it all together. And that
glue, my friend is how often youshow up on your podcast. And
that's what we're going to talkabout today. Let's get started.
Welcome to the Organic MarketingSimplified podcast. I'm your
host, Juliana. And around here,we replace endless hustle with

(00:44):
smart, focused strategies foryour business growth. If you're
fed up with tactics to overpromise and under deliver,
leaving you exhausted instead ofexcited, this is the podcast for
you. Get ready to dive intodeeper practical podcasting
tips, smart monetization andgrowth tactics that bring your
business visibility and profits. It's time to simplify your

(01:06):
strategy and amplify yoursuccess. Let's go.
Alright, so first things first, let's talk about why it's
important that you areconsistent and that you show up
weekly on your podcast. So Ihave some statistics for you. So
70% of people look forward toeach episode 20%, consider

(01:27):
engaging with your content oroffers 10% are ready to actually
interact with your brand and twoto 5%, who actually take action.
So when you hear does thestatistics, which is like it's
honestly it's hard data, it's ushumans actually giving out
information, you can actuallytake that and apply it to your

(01:48):
business. Meaning if you are notshowing up consistently on your
podcast once a week, then wheredoes that leave you because if
you're showing up on yourpodcast based off of
inspiration, or when you havetime, or when you feel like it,
then you're going to get resultsthat really equates the type of

(02:08):
effort that you're putting in.
And here's the crazy thing, thenext crazy piece of information
that I have for you to reallysolidify what I'm saying. I was
watching something the otherday. And if I find it, I will
link it down below where it saidthat used to be that we needed
seven touch points in order toactually purchase something from

(02:31):
somebody. So we needed to, forexample, hear seven episodes or
just have seven touch pointswith a content creator, meaning
maybe it's a podcast episode, anemail or social media posts or
whatever. Now the number hasincreased to 34 touch points. So
when we put that intoconsideration, if you're not

(02:52):
being consistent with yourpodcast, it's going to take
forever for you to actually turna listener into a customer into
a client from your podcast. Soit is important that you were
doing your part and showing upconsistently showing up weekly,
so that you can build that trustand you can make those
connections and actually makemoney from your podcast.

(03:15):
Because the next part of thispuzzle is that it is taking
people longer to actually buyfrom you. So some people will
stay in your audience for abouta year before they buy from you
some people the average is about60 days. And that should blow
your mind because now you knowthat it's not as simple as
somebody lands on your podcastepisode and you're gonna take

(03:36):
action right away, people arebecoming more and more aware of
their purchases, the economy'sdoing so great. There's so many
factors that are going into thisand people be more conservative
with how they spend their money, they want to make sure that they
are making the right investmentand that you are the right
person for them. So if it'staking people 60 days to make

(03:57):
that decision to work with youand it's taking them 34 touch
points and only two to 5% ofpeople are actually convert into
buyers. That should be reallytiming to you to actually stay
consistent because guess what, most people are not taking their
podcasts seriously. And mostpeople do not know how to

(04:18):
integrate their podcasts intothe overall marketing of their
business.
Now on my own show, I have donedifferent things throughout the
years. So I have done twoepisodes a week. I have done
three episodes a week. I havedone stretches at a time where
I've shown up Monday throughFriday for an entire month. So

(04:39):
I've honestly I've done it all.I've done a lot of different
types of content. So I've shownup for many different days
throughout the week. And what Ifind has been working really
well for me is once a week. Ifind that anticipation because
my podcast episodes I createthem in a way that They're super

(05:00):
juicy, and they're superinformative. People are actually
looking forward to the nextepisode. They're not bombarded
with a bunch of episodesthroughout the week. So I'm
getting more engagement byactually releasing only one
episode per week versus showingup a bunch of days on my
podcast.
Now, this is what works for me.And if you're new around here,
you might not know this aboutme. But I am a very data driven

(05:22):
person. So I love to look at thedata. And by looking at data, I
can see that my podcast episodesare getting a lot more
engagement. Now that I'mlaunching one episode a week
versus when I was doing 2,3,4 orfive episodes a week. So this is
something for you to consider. And everybody's different. And I
don't have an answer for you.But here's the thing, me showing

(05:42):
up once a week, and having a lotof success should actually give
you hope that you don't have tobe a slave to your podcast,
because here's the thing, yourpodcast episodes does not become
irrelevant. It's not like socialmedia, where you create a
beautiful post, you put yourheart or soul into that post or
into that reel or into thatTiktok. And then it kind of dies
out, right, like it just staysthere. And of course, you can

(06:05):
always recycle. But it doesbecome irrelevant. So unless you
are actually taking charge andrecycling that content and
repurposing the content, thenit's just gone. It's now in the
cemetery, social media postswere as your podcast episode,
because I know you're savvy andyour SEO, optimizing everything.
And you are taking intoconsideration that the podcast

(06:27):
app is a search engine, you knowthat your episodes are super
relevant. And honestly, a truetestament to this is one of my
top downloaded podcast episodesis from 2022. So that should
tell you that it doesn't matterhow old a podcast episode is, it
can still do really well becauseof the power of podcasting.

(06:47):
Now, the next part of thispuzzle is that you being
consistent, it builds that trustin people know, they can count
on you. And here's the thingthat's so beautiful about
podcasting is that people willput you throughout their day. So
I've talked about this atlength, but you become part of
somebody's daily routine. Sowhether they're making coffee,

(07:08):
they're going for a run, they'regoing to work out whatever it is
that they're doing, they'remaking sure that your podcast
episode is coming out. Sothey're gonna make time to
listen to you because you arenow part of their daily routine.
And it's that reliability andtrust that ultimately turns
listeners in to buyers, it'sbecause they know they can count

(07:28):
on you. And they start torealize that the free
information that you are givingaway in your podcast episodes,
they're so valuable. So yes, Iam so ready to work with you.
Because you are the person thatI come to week after week, and
you're always there for me. Somake sure that you are being
reliable, and that you aregiving value. So you can build

(07:49):
that trust with your listeners. And of course, help them at a
deeper capacity in your paidcontainers.
Another thing for you to alsobecome very aware of is if it's
taking people 34 touch points toactually make a connection with
you. That means that it's takenthem 34 times for them to hear
your offer to actually make theconnection that they want to buy

(08:11):
from you. So if you are showingup weekly on your podcast, and
you have a call to action, likehey, come work with me come to
this with me, this is how I canhelp you. And you're actually
ensuring that they take the nextstep with you. So basically,
every single podcast episodethat you put out is a sales
call. It is a connection thatyou're putting out there. And

(08:32):
remember, you may think thatyour listener is listening to
every single episode, but lifehappens and they may not be and
they probably are not. Andthat's totally okay because
we're real human beings. And wehave a lot of things going on.
So while you might have thosediehard listeners, even the
diehard listeners, yoursuperfans might not be listening

(08:54):
to every single episode becausethings happen. So the more
consistent you are, the betterchances you have of actually
showing up and being top of mindfor that person. So when they're
ready to buy from you, andthey're choosing between you,
and 2,3,4 or five other peoplethey know to come to you because
you are reliable, you arehelpful and they cannot wait to

(09:16):
to work with you.
The bottom line is is that everysingle episode of yours is a
chance for you to strengthenthat bond and for you to deepen
the trust that your potentialclient has with you with your
brand and they're more likely tobuy from you. At the end of the
day. Podcasting regularly equalstrust and anticipation. Your

(09:38):
podcasting regularly means thatwhen it's go time and they're
ready to hire somebody, they'remore likely to come to you and
your offer is a natural step, not a leap.
Now if you need help stayingconsistent and it's just like
really super difficult and youjust don't know how then I have
an episode for you episode 251where I talk about staying
consistent even when things arecrazy and everything's out of

(10:01):
control. Now, if you need helpstay consistent without actually
adding more to your plate, thenI want to invite you to work

of everything for you.Everything is in house, one team
taking care of all of the thingsfor you. So they can just
podcast and do the things thatactually make a difference in
your business without addingmore on your plate.

(11:06):
Now next week, I'm sharing myjourney from launch my podcast
to an audience of crickets, likeliterally no one to now being a
top half percent podcasts withmost importantly, a money making
podcasts. So I'm breaking downthe journey for you so that you
can see it and hopefully beinspired, so that you can see
what is possible when you committo podcasting into showing up

(11:29):
and to actually not gettingdistracted by all the different
shiny things and the socialmedia out there. When you focus
your efforts into podcasting, itreally does pay off. And until
next time, may you find God'slove peace, grace and mercy and
I'll see you then bye.
