We’re at this point in our lives where a lot of change is happening and that change looks different for every one of us. This week, episode 5 of the Our Halftime Show Podcast is about 3 ways to kick start and embrace change!

In this episode of Our Halftime Show, our guest Colleen Odegaard shares her top 3 tips to kick start and embrace the changes in your life and actionable steps you can take right now to become self-aware of how you speak to yourself so that you can shift your inner thoughts in a positive direction. The tips that Lizzie, Meredith, and Colleen go over in this episode include:

  • It’s go time! Stop waiting for the “perfect” time to do something and start prioritizing the things you enjoy today.
  • Avoid living a lukewarm life by running towards the “hot” things or the things that excite you and avoid the “cold” or the things that drag you down.
  • Stop believing everything you’ve heard about yourself- especially the stuff that’s in your own mind.
  • As a bonus- The 3 R’s to change how you speak about yourself.

At the end of life, people regret the things they didn't do as opposed to the things they have done. The time to live a happy and fulfilled life is NOW.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
