Speaker 1 (00:03):
Coming up on today's show, Sarah's Day's Stolen Prata, Sunni's Tammy,
Hembro's Confusing Relationship Timeline, Sophie Keasha and the Secondhand Engagement Ring,
and all the Revelations from nineteen eighty nine Taylor's version.
Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm

(00:25):
Sophie Torbert, and I have a burning question when is
too early to put up.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Your Christmas tree?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Because all over Instagram I'm seeing influencers and everyday people.
I think it's because Halloween is officially over, so people
seem to have the green light now to start putting
up the Christmas decorations. I think it's too early. And
I am someone who loves Christmas, but in Adelaide we
usually wait for the Christmas Pageant and that is this weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
But still I think it doesn't seem Christmas y yet.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
I love the people that are putting up their Christmas
tree now, though, because I think you almost need a
bit of time to feel like you're.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Getting into the Christmas spirit.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
And when I start seeing Christmas content online, it makes.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Me feel so Christmas y.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
I loved seeing Courtney Mangnan putting up her tree this
year because I think this is a third tree I've
seen her put out for the past three years, and
I'm like, yes, it's starting. It's a sign, and you're right,
Christmas is a mindset, so it might not feel Christmas
y now.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
But you've got to make it Christmas.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
See you really upset because I would be putting up
my tree in the next few days, but I've got
to wait until I move into my house. We were
joking that maybe I'd just put it up and we'd
carry it in the delivery truck fully decorated, but.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
That might be a bit ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
I would advise against that because we did that one year,
I think like five years ago when all of us
moved and it was hell. All of the ballbles were
falling off in the delivery truck. We're going to start
a thread in our Facebook group so people can start
sharing their Christmas trees and get into the festive spirit.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
This thread went off last year.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
It was so exciting to see the different themes that
people had picked. I think you can tell a lot
about someone by the theme of their Christmas tree. Amy,
I'm also tasking you on creating a video about what
your Christmas tree says about you, because you were so
great at picking what people's frank green drink bottles.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
That's a good one.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
I just want my Sunny's back.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
The hunt is on for Sarah's days stolen sunglasses. The
fitness influencer was posing with a fan at the post
office when a thief took them from right under her nose.
So these weren't your run of the mill survey station sonnies.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
No, they weren't.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
They were six hundred and fifty dollars prior a sunglasses,
and they're the most expensive pair that Sarah says she owns.
She was quick to point out, though, that she has
a range of sunglasses with the cheapest starting at fifteen dollars,
all the way up to these ones. Now, these had
the ones she was spoking a couple of years ago,
her own line, and Sunny's.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
The cheaper one.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
They went fifteen dollars. They definitely weren't fifteen bucks. But
I feel like she had to preface that she has
cheaper pairs due to this range of sunglasses that she
brought up with White Fox Boutique a couple of years
ago to be one of the people. Yeah, so, how
did someone manage to steal the sunglasses from her at
the post Yeah? Well, Sarah had popped into the post
office to send off her little sister Taralia's Christmas present

(03:06):
to London, and she sort of wanted props over the
fact that she got it in so early. Anyway, she
said that she was struggling a bit as she walked
in because she had her toddler, Malachai, on her hip
and she was also holding the large present in her
other arm, so she was already quite flustered. And when
she walked in, she was wearing her prior to sunglasses
and proceeded to put them on her head as she

(03:26):
entered the store. Now, while she was filling out the
postal slip at one of those little booths, she put
her sunglasses down alongside her handbag and her mobile phone. Now,
at this stage, a follower recognized her and came up
for a photo. And while she was having a photo
taken with this fan, her son Malachi was roaming the aisle,

(03:46):
so Sarah had to chase after him and left all
of her stuff at the booth. And when she came back,
the sunglasses were gone, so she went up to the
front desk and asked if anyone had seen them, and
even asked the customers in the store if they'd them
as well, and everyone was like, nah, nap, I haven't
seen anything. That would be the worst feeling, because I
did this with my computer the other day. I'm like,

(04:07):
oh my god, it's been stolen from my car.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Where is it?

Speaker 1 (04:10):
I definitely had it and it ended up that I'd
left it at Amy's house. So you'd probably have that
moment where you're like, did I even have my sonnies
with me? You're accusing everyone anything? God, did I even
walk in with them? I feel like a terrible person.
But this story just sounds so funny to me because
it just seems like such first world problems for an
influence of por to Sunny's a binge. I would definitely
be pissed off if someone stole my sun glass.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yeah, but her reaction has been.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
A little bit cringe on social media. Yeah, Well, she
has preface that she thinks it is first world problems
and she understands that there's a lot going on. I
think that she probably feels quite violated that someone stole
them right when.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
She was there.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
And this has created great content though for her channel,
because it's the most exciting thing that's happened to her
in a while. Yeah, and I think that she knows
it and that people are invested in the story, and
that's why she's putting out so much content about it,
because the next day, when new details emerge, she posted
an update on her story as well as a five
minute TikTok story time and that now has two hundred

(05:08):
and seventy four thousand views, And she put these huge
words across it, which said police report in bold letters.
So she clearly knows that people are going to be interested.
And the way that she presented these updates was very theatrical.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
In parts, it.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Seemed like she was half joking, but then in other
parts you could tell just how pissed off she was.
That really came across she is furious over this, and
it kind of reminded me of what she used to
be back in the day when she wasn't really wealthy,
Because yes, she does have a lot of money now,
but if you've grown up with not a lot and
you're a bit of a budgeter and bit of a

(05:43):
Penny Pincher, I can see why this.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Would piss you off.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Well, she did use the update on Instagram to threaten
the suspective thief, so she revealed that the post office
had trawled through CCTV and they had vision catching the
thief in the act.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
That's what she said to the lady who stole my
prit of sunglasses, which has been captured on security footage.
When you stole my glasses, I was in the post office,
you knew they were mine. I asked everybody in the
post office has.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Anyone seen my sunglasses? And you responded with no, even
though you just slid them in your bag. It's on
security footage if that is you. I simply just want
them back. You have forty eight hours to return them.
That is more than enough time.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
You can return them to Cronulla Post Office, Cronella Health,
Fred Store, Nourish, Blackwood Pantry, Cronella Ham Cronala. All of
these places are my friends. They all have my number.
They can all get in contact with me. Um where
else police station, they have my contact details. Now after
the report, just drop them back book, no questions asked.

(06:51):
I just want my Sonnies back.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I find it so interesting that in her clap back
to this woman, she has listed all of the places
that she frequents. Doesn't that make her more of a
target for theft or even you know, she's outlining the
places that she hangs out with her kids. It just
seems to bit Dangerous's pretty obvious if you look at
her vlogs, like everyone knows she's from Crinulla, you can
sort of yeah, she's eventuallying a blueprint out of where

(07:15):
she goes. She also mentioned that the people that own
those stores are or her friends. If I've stolen someone's
sunglasses and the person seemed quite pissed off about it,
I wouldn't be going in and being like, here you go.
Plot twist. It was the fan that she had a
photo with the She actually did say that one of
the videos that she had questioned if the fan was
some sort of decoy. Can you imagine how awkward that

(07:36):
would be if you just genuinely approach someone for a
photo and then this turn of events had happened. Sorry,
there's only a six hundred dollars pair of sunglasses. Like
she's acting like she's had diamonds. Rob, I don't think
it's the sunglasses itself. I think it's the fact that
she feels violated, and I do feel sorry for her
because she was in.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
A vulnerable state.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
She's literally having a photo with a fan, She's got
a toddler who's running all over the store, She's trying
to get her jobs done. I'm not saying I don't
feel bad to her. I definitely don't think it's fair
that someone stolen her sunglasses, but it seems a little
bit over the top to suggest that there is this
whole decoy and this strategy behind no pinching someone's glass.
This person who took them, they might not even realize

(08:18):
that she has this huge they're like, fuck. Imagine like
just stumbling across that TikTok, but oh my god, I've
messed with the wrong person. She was questioning whether the
person did follow her channel and if they're watching this, like,
I just found that funny. It was quite interesting to
see that the post office did go above and beyond
for Sarah. So the young post office worker. She contacted

(08:39):
Sarah on Facebook and gave her a big rundown of
what had transpired, and Sarah she did yeah, And Sarah
did ask the post office worker if she could get
a screenshot of the woman's face who stole the glasses,
because she wanted to try and solve the crime herself,
so she's.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
More like name and chat.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Yeah, she wanted to upload it to her socials and
ask if anyone knew the woman. However, the post office
said that they're not allowed to do it and the
police would be collecting the vision, and they also urged
her to make an official police report. I am shocked
the effort the police and the post officer put into
this because I feel like if it was just a
normal person that didn't have a following, no fox would

(09:16):
be given. Yeah. Well, it was very theatrical again because
she uploaded an Instagram story outside the police station and
wrote it's happening, And this caused a lot of confusion
for followers who weren't across the whole stolen sunglasses thing.
And she did say that when she went into the
police station she felt a bit embarrassed and she knew
that the sunglasses being stolen were first world problems, but

(09:39):
apparently the police officer reassured her that it wasn't dumb
and they would do their best to look into it.
I have been to the police before about my wallet
being stolen from a car. However, obviously nothing was really done.
You know, they apparently followed up a few of the
service stations that the robbers used my card at. But
in saying that, what's different in this case is the

(10:01):
fact that they actually have CCTV of the person committing
the crime, so it makes it more tangible. I just
want to know what's going to happen next. This is
the twist and turns of a TV crime drama. Yeah. Well,
some of her followers said, Oh, Sarah, you'll have to
keep an eye out for the glasses in your area
and see if you can spot anyone wearing them. And
I think this is where some people got their noses

(10:23):
out of joint because Sarah said, it's quite a popular
sunglass design and a lot of people in their area
have them, you know, sort of indicating that it's an
affluent area. Well, she has said that before, she said,
because she's got a land Rover, and she's like everyone
has a land Rover where I'm from. It it's like,
hang on, but this is not realistic to what's actually
going on in Australia at the moment. Like this has

(10:44):
really rubbed people up the wrong way due to the
cost of living crisis as well. And it's kind of
like crime a river. A rich influencer has had her
sunglasses stolen. How would you guys feel though, if she
had received that image from Australia Post and plastered all
around her socials. Do you think that would have been
going too far?

Speaker 2 (11:00):
No, I actually don't.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
I am more on Sarah's side in this incident because
I get it that, you know, it's first world problems.
But at the same time, if I had a design
a pair of sunglasses stolen that I'd worked hard to
purchase and some absolute scum bags stole them whilst I
was running after my child in a post office, I
would be out for vengeance. And I want to post
their photo everywhere, because if you're willing to steal from

(11:23):
someone in broad daylight, then you should expect to have
your photo plasted everywhere. But on the flip side, the
person who stole the sunglasses might really be struggling. It's
a bit of a low act to just pinch them,
but maybe they truly needed the money. I mean, we're
going through a cost of living crisis. Yeah, we can't
expect everyone to just be stealing because we're going through
a hard time. But we don't know the circumstances and

(11:44):
the fact that Sarah is so jumping on this and
trying to shame this person. What if it turned out
to be a single mother that can't feed her children,
there's going to sell these on Facebook marketplaces. I still
don't think it's right. I still don't think that we
should be. I mean, Sarah a victim in this story.
She's had her possession be stolen in broad daylight in

(12:05):
front of her quite an affluent area. No one's actually
discussing whether it's right or wrong to steal. We're discussing
if we think Sarah's reaction to the crime actually fits
the crime. Look, I think it was quite fitting because
she was in a vulnerable state.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
She feels violated.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
It's something a possession of hers that she's clearly worked
hard for.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
I don't think we should be on the side of
the post it's on the thief side.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
But we're saying, for example, she did name and shame
over those Moroccan rugs, and remember how awful that was
for the person involved, and it turned out she'd got
it wrong. Imagine if this person like they're pretty desperate
to be stealing sunnies, this could push someone.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Over the edge.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah, I just think like it's not really proportionate to
the item that was.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Couldn't she not have dealt with this private?

Speaker 1 (12:48):
At the local shopping center that I go to, they
have printed off photos of people who have stolen from
their store, and I don't see what the difference. But
she's got millions of followers, and the huge stop is
when they put up video of people anyway, So I
don't have an issue with it. I personally don't have
an issue with it.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Thanks for getting a tatoo? Do you want to tell
everyone what you get it?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Everyone is talking about Tammy Hembro and Matt Zukowski's relationship.
They went Instagram official around two weeks ago, and Tammy
has just confirmed that she did get Matt's name tattooed
on her at the White Fox Boutique event. Yeah, there
was a bit of contention as to which Matt she
did have tattooed on her, and we've just discovered now
through m Davies' blog at the White Fox Boutique event

(13:31):
the Tammy actually got it done at the birthday bash
because we were talking about how there was a pre
event where all of the influencers went out and picked
their clothes and there was a little pop up tattoo
caut there and that's where she got it done. And
in the video she's saying, Oh, I'm a bit crazy
for doing it.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Let's throw it to exactly what she said, I'm getting
my boyfriend's name because I'm actually.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
I know this pop up tattoo parlor seems to be
creating a lot of buzz for White Fox because last event,
Mikayla Tester actually got the White Fox brand tattooed on her,
and now Tammy is causing chaos by getting Matt's name
on her. Plot twist, they are not actually real tattoos publicity.
How would you feel if you'd been dating someone for

(14:15):
two weeks and they got your name tattooed. Well, they've
clearly been dating for longer than two weeks. They've been
official for two weeks. But it does seem pretty free.
But m Davey says to her in the clip, Oh,
after two weeks, you've got your boyfriend's name on you,
so it's confirmed. It'd probably be two weeks of being official.
I probably would be a bit put off if after
two weeks a guy got my name tattooed, but it

(14:35):
would depend how many tattoos they had.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
They're freaked out.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
I'd be thinking, Wow, is this relationship moving a bit quickly?
Of things getting a bit too serious all at once? Yeah,
it's a bit like love bombing, isn't it. Well. On
the latest series of Love Island Australia, there is a
contestant that has not one, but three of her ex
partner's initials tattooed on her. To make things worse, she
actually did one of the tattoos herself, so she says

(15:00):
she used a needle and a permanent texter and I
was like, what the fuck. The guy that she's coupled
up with is like, this is a big radar flag.
It appears that things are moving pretty quickly because it
looks like Matt has now met Tammy's kids. So on Sunday,
Tammy shared an Instagram story of her and Matt dancing
romantically next to a pool at her home on the
Gold Coast, and in the video you can see Tammy's

(15:23):
eight year old son Wolf in the background. Well dancing
seems to be very on theme for the couple at
the moment, because Tammy also shared a video of her
and Matt doing a parody of the Posh and Becks
dance scene from the doco that's just gone absolutely viral.
I really shared this on our Instagram story and I
got one of two responses because I wrote love this,
and people are like, are you taking the piss?

Speaker 2 (15:45):
I hate this?

Speaker 1 (15:46):
And then other people are like, oh my god, they're
so cute. I'm just loving it because I think that
we have had a couple of months, maybe six months,
where a lot of influencers really aren't sharing much about
their personal lives, and while this seems like perhaps a
shit storm that's going to explode, I am here for
the ride, I'm here for the tattoos, I'm here for
the funny dancing parody videos. And I just put it together.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
They look cute together.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Yeah. Well, the video has attracted over two point five
million views, and as you can imagine, just like we
experienced on our Instagram page, the commentary has been mixed.
So while a lot of people are happy for Tammy,
there was a lot of mum shaming and also slut
shaming going on. So the comments included people saying they
couldn't keep up with all the men, that Tammy just
had kids with anyone, How confusing it must be for

(16:32):
Tammy's kids and how does she move on so fast?
I did see a couple of people writing where's Posey's dad?
And whilst I think that that is quite slut shamy
if you haven't checked in, if you're not someone who's
invested in her life, I can see how it would
be a little bit confused, but it's just so sexist.
Don't see people writing it on Reese Hawkins or Matt
Paul well in Tiktoks. Yeah, Matt Paul did move on

(16:53):
way faster than Tammy Hambro and people didn't seem to
have a problem with that. And Reese Hawkins literally has
the same situation as Tammy. He got two kids with
Tammy and a kid with.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
London, So why are people having more of a go
at him.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
I mean, I know some people have been calling him
a deadbeat dad, but that's because he's been in a
different country to his kids. Doesn't seem to be back
in their life more recently, though, because he did attend
Wolf's birthday party a couple of months Ago and Tammy
and he seemed to be on good term. So hopefully
this new relationship doesn't impact things. Can I point out, Sophie,
it's wolf. It annoys a lot of people when you
say it, and annoying me. But anyway, I was gonna

(17:26):
say that I noticed Tammy was clapping back at a
few of the comments because someone who said, oh who
is this and she goes, well, third times a charm. Yeah. Well,
she did tackle it head on, so she said that
she doesn't normally respond to negative comments, but she was
feeling spicy and she thought it would be fun. So
she did come across as a little bit defensive, which
I can totally understand, but some of her comebacks were

(17:48):
absolutely brilliant in terms of the most interesting things.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
That she said.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
She did say that she was the one that ended
her relationships, which I thought, well, is this new information
because that's both relationships Matt Paul. Yeah, so she essentially
confirmed that she was the one that broke up with
both Reese and Matt. It was also funny because she
reiterated that she'd only been with three men and said
people who couldn't keep up with the three of them

(18:12):
needed help with their memories. This is what love does, though,
I mean Tammy's saying that she doesn't usually clap back,
but now she's on the defensive getting interesting on her channel. Well,
she even said that she never planned on sharing this
relationship online, but because she's so happy, she couldn't help
herself and she wants to shout it from the rooftops. Also,
they were exposed from you know, general member of the

(18:32):
public taking a photo of them, so that must have
really accelerated their relationship because it would have been hard
to hide it. Yeah. Well, the other thing she said
that caught my attention was that she shut down that
she had moved on too quickly. So she said she
didn't consider a year and a half to two years
as too fast, and she did regiterate that she wasn't
short on the exact timing. This piqued my interest, so

(18:54):
I did a bit of research. So Tammy and Matt
Paul actually got engaged in November twenty twenty one, so
that's nearly exactly two years ago, and Tammy gave birth
to her and Matt's daughter, Posey in June twenty twenty two,
so that's around sixteen to seventeen months ago. So, while
it is unclear when they actually broke up, Matt was

(19:14):
in the birth flog and also in the birth post
that she shared when she announced the news, so that
sixteen months ago. Yeah, so that's about a year after though.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Perfect.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Yeah, but I know, but a lot of people thought
they were together then, so I can see why there's
some confusion and why people think they have moved on
quickly because no one knows the exact timeline of when
they broke up. Do you think, though, that she should
be on there responding to troll comments or just leave it?

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I actually really like.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
That, Tammy responded. Firstly, it's making things more interesting. As
you said, Sophie, I feel like a lot of influencers
have just shut up recently because they're scared of creating drama.
I actually saw Martha Calla Fetita say that she hasn't
posted organically on her story for ages because she's scared
that she's going to say something that upsets people.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
She did then go.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
On to share Mary doing a wanker sign and she
was taking photos of her food, and she's like, Mum,
you've already offended everyone. But I think it's great because
we get little tidbits that we wouldn't normally get. This
is why we follow influencers because we feel like they're
our friends, the girl a boy next door, and we
want to know what's going on in their relationships. So
I personally love when people clap back, and I don't

(20:19):
think I mean when they do it in a respectful way.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
I mean, look at Sky Wheatley.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
She constantly claps back at people and creates drama, and
that's what.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Keeps her relevant. It's entertaining.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Yeah, people are going to die off, aren't they. A
lot of these influencers who are too scared. I mean,
it's funny you mentioned Martha because I haven't heard or
seen anything about her for what feels like a year,
and it seems like since she had her baby, we
haven't really heard that. But that's more difficult for young mums.
But because a lot of moms get so heavily criticized
when they have a newborn and literally everything that they
share is wrong, so I can understand why she'd want

(20:51):
to take a step back. Well, Tammy's got a relatively
young child as well, and it seems to be her
children keep getting dragged into this.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
I do think it's.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Only human nature to want to respond to these comments
because she does get a lot of negative commentary on
her social media, so I think it's just reached a
point where she's like, fuck off. Everyone can't get.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Enough of Outspoken.

So thank you.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
I don't care enough about you to be hiding things
from you or I'm going to get caught out.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
I'm simply just keeping some things private. If anyone is
in the market for a secondhand engagement ring, then you
need to hit Sophie kesher up. The pajama mogul is
selling the engagement ring she gave to her now ex fiance,
Maddie Garrick. She announced his news on her Instagram story
and told genuinely interested people to email her manager. This
story probably sounds familiar to you because Sophie actually advertised

(22:26):
the same engagement ring back in January, so at the time,
it was pretty clear that this breakup was very raw
for Sophie because she said that she needed to get
rid of the ring because it hurt her heart. Apparently, though,
her mum was trying to convince her to keep the
ring because she's like, will you work so hard for it,
maybe you can give it to your daughter.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Well, that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
As soon as you try and resell an engagement ring,
it loses all of its value. I just don't know
why she'd do this so publicly. Why don't you go
to a jeweler and try and sell it back to them,
or try and get something else made from it. It's
really difficult to also try and sell something on social
media when you don't put up a price unless there's
a super fan that's like, I really want that ring.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Well, the ring is.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Really personal as well, because it's got three diamonds and
Sophie had it designed that way to represent her and
her two children. It's pretty sad because it's quite clear
how much this ring actually meant to Sophie, and she
said that she felt so sad that it was clear
that Maddie didn't see any worth or meaning in the ring,
considering she broke up with her within six months of

(23:26):
the proposal. Well back when they did get engaged, Sophie
shared a post thanking the jeweler, which is Unique Diamonds Australia,
for creating the ring, and this led people to wonder
if the ring was gifted. Yeah. I wonder if that
changes anything in terms of when you try and resell
a ring, like.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Is it morally okay?

Speaker 1 (23:44):
I reckon for tax purposes, it might change things because
if that's a gifted item, then you have to declare
that on your tax.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
See.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
I think that maybe the jeweler gave her a bit
of a discount but the fact that Sophie's mum said, well,
why don't you keep it because you've worked really hard
for it. And Sophie also mentioned in the recent advertisement
that the ring was exy, but she is selling it
heavily discounted and for half the price. Well, she did
mention that she's selling it in time for the festive season,
and I think that's because a lot of people pop

(24:11):
the question over Christmas time. I have spoken to a
few jewelers about my wedding band, and they're all saying,
you've got to get it in quickly, all your designs quickly,
because it gets so busy over Christmas. So I think
if you're thinking of proposing over Christmas, you should have
bought the ring a couple.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Of months ago.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Well, this might be good for someone that's panic buying.
Can you imagine getting it though, Like, imagine seeing this
advertised online for half the price and you know the backstory.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Your partner's like.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Oh, yeah, this ring signifies me and our dog our
I don't think i'd want a secondhand engagement ring. I
think it's already got a bit of a backstory. I mean,
it's slightly different. If you're getting your partner's grandmother's ring,
and it's had a successful marriage behind it. I mean,
still I wouldn't want it.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Is there a bit of bad karma on this ring
because there's been a break up?

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Well, Sophie said that she wanted to get rid of
it because it's got bad juju? So like, really, it's
not advertising ju juju.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I never heard real bad juju.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Yeah, it's just like bad vibes about the bad luck.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
I mean, that's not really selling it isn't.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
No, she hasn't mentioned the bad juju in the most recent.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Harry swift really just drapt the most iconic harrysales distract
ten years later and I'm freaking out.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
It's been a week since nineteen eighty nine Taylor's version
came out, and I feel like we're ready to talk
about it.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
I wanted the new Vault songs to sink in.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
I wanted to love them, and I am absolutely obsessed
with Is it over now? I know?

Speaker 2 (25:30):
So for you came in, you have made a big call.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
You said it's your favorite song.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Ever.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
It has been stuck in my head consistently, and I
think that that is a sign of a great song.
I just wish it came out in twenty fourteen because
that was my era of my breakup song. So I
got broken up with in twenty fourteen and that's when
nineteen eighty nine came out. So all of those songs
are really nostalgic to me, and I felt like I
needed that one to get.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Through the breakup.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
It is interesting because Taylor Swift was pretty nice to
Harry Starle in nineteen eighty nine the first edition that
came out, and a lot of people were speculating, are
we going to see a collaboration with Harry on this album?

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Well that was a big fat no.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
What we got was so much better because we actually
got an insight into what went on during their breakup.
Everyone is ninety nine percent sure that this song Isn't
Over Now is about Harry Styles, and there was confirmation
within this verse. So it says, when you lost control
red blood, white, snow blue dress on a boat, your

(26:30):
new girl is my clone now. The first part is
in reference to the snowmobile accident that Taylor wrote about
and Out of the Woods, so that was when Harry
and Taylor were on.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
A ski trip.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Out of the Woods is also one of my favorite songs.
And that is because my ex boyfriend who broke up
with me that year, he also had an accident, but
when we were away in Thailand, so he had to
get all of these stitches. So that song out of
the Woods, it's like twenty stitch, Yeah, twenty stitches in
a hospital room.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
That reminds me. So maybe Taylor Swift to night.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
I live in these parallel fucking except it's Harry Styles,
not my experts, and sat see Timany's similarities between your
ex and Harry Styles. Isn't it the worst thing though?
Because I know you love that song out of the Woods,
and you know when you listen it together and you
kind of cringe some of the lyrics because you realize
why someone really resonates it. Back to this other song,

(27:18):
Back to Taylor swith yeah, back to is it over now?
The second part of that verse is in reference to
Taylor being spotted alone on a boat during her trip
with Harry Styles to the Virgin Islands. She of course,
in that photo was wearing a blue dress, and they
did break up after this trip, so Harry basically abandoned
Taylor and she was spotted by paparazzi sitting on this

(27:40):
boat all alone. She looks so sad in the photo.
It's a pretty iconic photo. Now, the last bit of
that verse reference is that Harry started dating a clone
of Taylor. Now. I always thought that he cheated on
Taylor with Kendall Jenner, but it was actually Kimberly Stewart,
which I found very odd. I also love that Taylor
went as far as calling him a lying trader and

(28:00):
said that he found love in every model's bed for
something greater. Those are epic lines, and it's so funny
because TikTok and jen Zed as a millennials were so
conflicted because we love Harry and we love Taylor. And
I saw a few tiktoks where they're like, I'm sorry, Harry,
I've got to put my love for you on hold
for a second whilst I belt.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Out this song.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
I saw some people like turning their posters of Harry
around while they were listening to nineteen eighty nine. Didn't
he lose one hundred thousand followers in one day due
to this song dropping?

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Oh wow?

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Well, I do feel a little bit bad for Harry
in a sense because he was only eighteen when they
started going out.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
Oh they looked like babies.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
I feel like there's so much vision that's popping up
of when they dated.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
They look so incredibly young.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Have you seen the video of them at the zoo
with a little kid? And Taylor is just she looks
transfixed by Harry.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Well, wouldn't you be?

Speaker 1 (28:51):
I really related to the lyric when she spoke about
how she the more she gave him, the less he
wanted of her, Like that just captured a feeling of
those shitty relatesationship so well. It just still blows my
mind that someone would treat Taylor Swift so badly, because
even in my mind, I just have her up so
high and I just think, why would you want to
date some model? Inside of Taylor Swift? I think she's

(29:14):
a bit perplexed as to that as well. Well yeah, well,
what did you guys think about slut? Because everyone was
expecting a very punk pop style for this song when
the name was released, because it had an exclamation mark
at the end. It seemed like she really wanted to
make a statement with it. However, it was quite surprising. Yeah,
it's quite whimsical. I wasn't expecting it to be a

(29:35):
sort of tender love story sort of vibe. Yeah. I
think people were expecting it to be a real statement,
because in the last couple of years, Taylor has spoken
about experiencing slut shaming in her career, particularly around the
time that she recorded nineteen eighty nine the first time.
It would have been interesting to see the reaction though,
if she did bring it out originally with her album,

(29:56):
because I feel like it might have been a bit
more shocking. I think it would have been quite different
because it's only recently that the word slut has kind
of been empowered and people are using it in more
of a positive light and they know more about the
impact of slutshading. I did find the prologue from the
physical copy of nineteen eighty nine really interesting, So, Taylor wrote,

(30:17):
it became clear to me that for me, there was
no such thing as casual dating or even having a
male friend who you platonically hang out with. If I
was seen with him, it was assumed I was sleeping
with him, and so I swore off hanging out with guys, dating, flirting,
or anything that could be weaponized against me by a
culture that claimed to believe in liberating women but consistently

(30:38):
treated me with the harsh moral codes of the Victorian era.
Being a consummate optimist, I assumed I could fix this
if I simply changed my behavior. So I swore off
dating and decided to focus only on myself, my music,
my growth, and my female friendships. If I only hung
out with my female friends, people couldn't sensationalize or sexualize that, right.

(30:58):
I would learn later on that people could and people would. Now,
this seems to be a direct response to the people
who keep trying to push that she was in a
romantic relationship with Carlie Klass the Gala community. Kate, you mean,
and I think they've taken this prologue very personalized.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
I don't even think it was just the Gala community.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
I think it was directed at a lot of journalists
who have tried to click bake this story. I mean,
I didn't understand why it was such an appropriate topic
of conversation, because.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Why are we trying to out someone.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Who has flatly refused and said no, I'm straight. I
don't quite understand how that's acceptable or appropriate. Yeah, I've
been really annoyed by this commentary, and it is the
first time that Taylor has addressed these rumors directly. Well,
she was also talking about her famous friendship groups because
at the time, a lot of people had an issue
with that, saying that she was only befriending gorgeous and

(31:48):
glamorous women and that she wasn't relatable to her fans anymore.
And for her, she's probably thinking, can I do anything right?
It is interesting that she's almost got some of the
clique back together. So we did see that Carl was
at one of the Era's tour concerts, and she has
been photographed a lot with Blake Lively and Sophie Turner.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
So I just want to know.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
What she's up to because she's been doing so much recently.
And I think it's all gonna make sense very soon.
I've been saying that for quite a while. Yeah, well,
I don't think I could be any more excited about
the Taylor Swift tour in February, but this is just
amping things up even more. Well, everyone is saying that
there's going to be another album released very soon. What
do you guys think about that? I did see a

(32:29):
meme of her walking hand in hand with Travis Kelcey
and it said Taylor Swift walking out with her new album.
I don't think we'll get songs about him that quickly,
but perhaps we'll get some banger breakup songs about Joe
Allen Well. I could talk about Taylor Swift all day,
but we will end things there. This podcast was recorded
