Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey everyone and welcome back to Paranormal
Activities.
There's a certain attraction ofthe woods that's always

(00:29):
intrigued me.
Venturing into nature offers anexciting, healthy and natural
experience.
As a kid, my neighborhoodfriends and I would frequently
explore the local woods behindmy house, utilizing an old,
converted train tracks as ourpathway, and also on this
pathway was an old, abandonedtrain station that had all kinds

(00:49):
of stuff inside of it.
I wish I would have explored itmore and maybe kept some stuff,
but it was on private propertyand that would have been illegal
, so I did not do that.
But I did often rummage throughthat area, much to the dismay
of the people who owned theproperty.
But I digress.
As I grew older, this same pathbecame my preferred jogging
route during my high schoolyears, and currently I reside

(01:10):
near the Great Miami Trail, which is where I have spent
numerous hours running and thispast year, mostly biking.
However, as daylight succumbsto dusk, the atmosphere does
change.
So, like I said, the GreatMiami River is where I frequent,
riding my bike generally fromthe Franklin area to Dayton.

(01:32):
If you guys are familiar withDayton, the Caroline Park, I'll
ride my bike from Franklin toCaroline Park and then back for
a total of 28 miles.
Both ways, that's together.
Whatever that math is dividedby two, that's one way.
So before I get into my myparticular story from this trail
, let's hear some informationand history of this historic

(01:54):
trail.
The great miami river is atributary of the ohio river that
runs through southwestern ohioand indiana.
The river is named after theMiami Native American people who
lived in the area.
The Miami River starts atIndian Lake in Logan County,
ohio, and ends in the Ohio Riverjust west of Cincinnati, ohio,

(02:15):
and this is something I recentlylearned.
I didn't know exactly where itstarted from.
Indian Lake is not far fromwhere I grew up and I've camped
out there a couple of times, andthe last time I camped out
there would have been the summerof 2018.
Nothing happened, ghostly.
I was out there with a bunch ofmy buddies right before I got
married, but one of the nights Ithink the second night I was

(02:36):
there I believe it was twonights I just had a really weird
heavy feeling.
While I was there, nothinghaunted, but it was just creepy.
I don't know why.
And while I was there, nothinghaunted, but it was just creepy.
I don't know why.
And it still stands out in mybrain.
So there is that Not really aghost story, but I don't know.
The river's weird.
The Gritmamey River is 170 mileslong and it passes through the

(02:56):
cities of Sydney, piqua, troy, dayton, middletown and Hamilton
and Franklin, which is where Icurrently reside, and the
river's main tributaries are theMad, stillwater and Whitewater
Rivers.
And the Goodman River is thefirst national water trail in
Ohio, as apparently we are hometo the nation's largest paved

(03:20):
trail network and I believe thetrail is right around 90 miles
long.
I had that written down and nowit's gone.
So the river itself is 170miles long, but the trail that
I'm referring to runs from, Ibelieve, hamilton through picua
and then I believe it's kind ofparts off and then there's a

(03:41):
smaller part of the trail insydney, if I remember correctly.
But I've never made it that faryet.
I've only gone from south tonorth, like I mentioned,
franklin to caroline park anddayton and back.
So I did do some research onthis river, trying to find other
ghost stories, I would assumebeing how old this river is and

(04:04):
the history behind it and howoften people use it for biking,
walking, running, whateverthey're doing out there fishing
I see a lot of fishermen outthere.
I would assume there would beother stories, but I had a hard
time finding them.
There is some stories from downin Hamilton, but not really
stories as just history of atown down there, but nothing

(04:27):
really to do with this trail.
There is a ghost town justnorth of Dayton that the river
or the trail runs through, but, again, really no ghost stories
about that, just the history ofit there.
And as this is a paranormalpodcast, I was a little

(04:48):
disappointed in that.
But the reason that I am doingthis episode is because I had an
experience there not that longago.
It may be nothing I want youguys to decide.
Decide as it probably isnothing, but it was weird to me
and it just got weirder as thenext day happened.
So here is my experience of theGreat Miami Trail, so just

(05:12):
before.
So if you're familiar with WestCarrollton, the trail does go
through West Carrollton and inWest Carrollton there is a dam
that the trail goes by and Ioften like to stop by and hang
out by the dam.
Fishermen use it a lot and it'sa, you know there's a parking
lot there, so it is more of apopulated area on the trail.

(05:33):
Basically Franklin is populated, and then that goes to
Miamisburg, which is alsopopulated with a parking lot,
and then from Miamisburg to WestCarrollton, in the middle you
don't get a lot of walkers or alot of runners because it is a
long way from parking lot toparking lot.
So I'll see a lot of bikers inthat area but not a lot of
runners or walkers.

(05:53):
So just before the WestCarrollton Dam there is a path
with some houses on it as well.
So you're kind of you go by acemetery and then it's kind of a
long stretch.
There's a park and then you goby a farm and then from the farm
to the dam it's just woods andthen you come out and then

(06:13):
there's a little airport there.
So as I turned the corner thatgoes towards the West Carrollton
dam, I see a girl in a longyellow sundress with long black
hair.
It was a little bit colder outthis day.
I've got into cold weatherriding soon.
I bought all the gear and stuffso you know I can ride in

(06:35):
basically zero degreetemperatures if I so choose,
which I did once and it wasgreat.
Uh, this wasn't that cold ofthe day, it was a little bit
warmer, but still it was latefall, early winter, and I
thought it was odd to see a girlin a yellow sundress walking
this trail, especially at thisspot, because it wasn't super

(06:56):
close to a parking lot.
So I'm not sure you know whereshe would have started from,
probably the dam.
I guess Maybe she's parked atthe dam and then walked down and
then came back, but we'll getto that.
So as I go across this, I try tomake this corner and I see this
, this woman in a long yellowsundress with long black hair.

(07:17):
I try to make this corner and Isee this woman in a long yellow
sundress with long black hair.
She is standing sideways on thetrail, looking west towards
where the houses are.
So as I turn this corner, sheis not walking, she is standing
and looking west, which wouldhave been looking to my left.
As I approach on my bike, sheturns and looks at me.
I was a little bit far away andI wasn't wearing my glasses.

(07:40):
To be fair, I'm wearingsunglasses, which are not
prescription, but as I saw herlook at me, it was just a blur.
I didn't see facialdistinctions and usually I feel
like at this distance I wouldstill see a face, but in my
point of view.
I just saw a blank spot whereher normal face would be.

(08:01):
She then slowly turned and beganwalking forward, now with her
back towards me.
So I went, so I, you know, Iwas like that's kind of odd.
And as I went to pass her Inoticed her ankles were pasty
white and she wasn't carryinganything.
Generally if you're walking onthe trail you would have if you
don't have pockets, which issome dress, I don't think.
Did you know we would see phone, water, whatever?

(08:23):
Uh, but she was carryingnothing and did not appear to
have any pockets.
But again, I didn't examine herdress, I guess I attempted to
casually glance at her as Ipassed to see her face, but her
hair was long and covered as heras I passed her side.
So I couldn't really get a goodlook and I didn't want to like
turn all the way around and makeit awkward.

(08:44):
So as I got towards the damthere was now a street where I
slowed down and just make surethere's no cars coming.
It's a pretty low traffickedarea as it's just a city
building there, so really youdon't get any.
You know big, big cars comingthrough there.
But I stopped there and thoughtthis would be a good time to

(09:04):
turn around to see if she'sstill there.
It's a pretty long distance I'mnot sure how many yards or
whatever but it's a pretty longdistance from where I saw her to
where the street is, but it's astraight shot.
So I turned around, just tokind of, because I was still
feeling kind of uneasy about herpresence.
So I turned around and, justlike in the movies, she was not

(09:26):
there.
Even if she turned around andwalked towards the curve where I
first approached her, I don'tthink there would have been
enough time for her to get thereunless she ran really, really
fast, cause I bike prettyquickly.
So I finished the ride, I wentto our usually go and I turned
back and came back around and Idid not see her on my way back

(09:47):
and just uh, a note it was 12.53pm when I stopped and turned
back around to look at her.
So it wasn't at night, itwasn't at dusk, it was in the
middle of the day, sun was out,it was a little bit colder
outside.
She was wearing a yellowsundress, I did not see her face
and she appeared to havedisappeared, if that makes sense

(10:07):
.
So that left me with an uneasyfeeling.
So I was like you know what?
I'm gonna go out there againtomorrow which I did and bring
my voice recorder and then stopat this area where I saw her and
just, you know, do a quicklittle, you know maybe ghost,
ghost hunt and see if I pick upanything.

(10:28):
So I geared up, went out thenext day at the same time, and I
brought the voice recorder, andI was on my way to that
location which that spot isabout seven miles away from
where I start is, randomly, mybike, my right bike pedal, broke

(10:57):
.
A metal bolt inside of it wentright through the plastic and it
just basically fucked up mywhole pedal.
And at the same time, not onlydid my pedal break, a bunch of
screws were super loose on mygears, causing my gears not to
work properly.
So I was using a lot of effortjust to pedal a little bit now
on a broken pedal.
So at the same time, my gearsgot jacked up and my right pedal

(11:19):
broke, which I didn't eventhink was a thing, nor has it
ever happened to me in the past.
So with all of that happening,I was forced to turn around and
slowly and carefully ride backto my car and it took me a very
long time to get there for myusual, for my usual thing, and
that's it.

(11:39):
I never I have since gone backout.
I fixed my bike, got new pedals, tightened the gears and made
sure that they continue to staytightened, and that's it.
I've never seen that that personagain.
I generally do go out aroundthe same time every day when I
have the opportunity to, and Iwill see a lot of the same
people.
I'm out there because everybodyhas their routines.

(12:00):
I've never seen this personagain and I still get a weird
eerie feeling when I go throughthat area, which should be fair.
I've gotten that feeling beforethat, uh, in this particular
area it's past a cemetery,before the dam, it's just a
wooded area.
You just see trees on bothsides and it's just, uh, it's a
darker area.
I mean obviously becausethere's trees there, so it's

(12:23):
literally darker, but also itjust feels a little bit heavy
there, for whatever reason.
Um, one time I was out there ona zero degree day and I did see
a falcon just hanging out inthat same area on a tree.
He was on a super low branch.
I just kind of rode under himand he stared at me as I stared
at him and I thought that waskind of cool and it was in the

(12:43):
same area.
So I don't know, you guys tellme, was it just a girl walking?
And I'm just making shit up andexaggerating it and maybe
she'll hear this episode and belike bro, that was me.
What are you talking about?
Or is it possible, you know, maybe there is something going
on in this trail and I havenever seen a solidified ghost, I

(13:08):
guess I should say.
Usually the things that I haveseen I've been very
stereotypical.
You can see through them.
It's's hard to distinguishshadow people, that kind of
stuff.
So I've never have thought thatI've seen a full apparition, if
that makes sense.
But maybe this time I did.
So that's all I have for thisepisode.

(13:30):
Again, I was kind ofdisappointed that I couldn't
find more paranormal stories ofthe Great Miami Trail.
I'm sure there are some outthere from how often this trail
is frequented.
So, guys, if you have walked, biked, ran on this trail and you
