(00:36):
The. Good evening and welcome to this
week's episode of Paranormal Events presented by John Nick's
Paranormal. I am Jamie Wyden, your host for
the evening along with Chad Thomas, my Co host.
Mr. Thomas, Sir, how are you? I'm good.
Jamie, how are you? I I, I don't know, I'm I thought
(00:59):
today was Monday all day and I was very pleasantly surprised to
find it was Tuesday. God love holiday weeks, right?
Short week, but four days to do 5 days worth of stuff.
So tough. And you know, obviously Memorial
Day is a very important day to celebrate those who we've lost
along the way, you know, in, in,in the service of our country.
So, you know, but it's still in,it's very serious thing.
(01:23):
So I appreciate having the day and wish we didn't have to have
it actually. But here we are.
How about you? What was your weekend like?
Weekend was uneventful, actually, I had more time than
that off. The only day I worked last week
was Wednesday, so I had a nice break, you know, after the, the
(01:46):
push we had, it was really nice to get a little bit of a break
like that. Spent some time at my dad's.
We actually had a, a family get together for my uncle who'd
passed away a couple months ago in the middle of winter.
It was just nice to get togetherand and see family, some that
I'd never met and, you know, seehis friends and, you know, nice,
(02:06):
nice picnic in the in a park andjust to celebrate that.
And it was, it was just a nice, nice thing to spend some more
time with my dad, my brother andsister.
And yeah, yeah, very cool. Did you guys?
Swap stories for your upcoming episode.
Yeah, no, no, yeah, I've, I've, I've, I've got that list pretty,
you know, it's, it's a pretty established list all.
(02:28):
Right, All right, let's check in.
Check in. Yep.
So hey, if like Zoe, we're, we're, we're of a certain age.
OK, so when I hear family gatherings or picnic at the
park, you know, I think of two key things have to be there. 1
is deviled eggs, right? The other is what I call Waldorf
(02:50):
salad, which is like pistachio jello in whipped cream with like
pineapple and cherry, stuff likethat.
Like that's, that was like every, every event we ever had
when I was growing up with thosetwo things.
And and honestly, when I was younger, I could eat them both,
you know, and not, not feel likeI was going to die.
(03:11):
Now I probably would, you know, eggs and whipped cream, right.
Jello and all that junk together.
Yeah, that's kind of slightly healthy.
Oh my gosh. Well, I'm going to just, I'm
going to disappoint you, Jamie. We had neither of those there.
What the what? But we had we had one of the
things in our family is my mom used to make a a sloppy Joe
(03:33):
barbecue. And I made that.
I had that recipe and my my uncle loved Kentucky Fried
Chicken. So several people brought
Kentucky Fried Chicken. So perfect.
That's all you need, the things that are important to the
family. So yeah.
And there's there's also picnic staples, so.
Uh huh. So you.
Can't go wrong. So anyway, Bert, good to see you
(03:55):
joining us. Thank you.
Bert, good evening. So.
But anyway, we're not here to talk about picnics, Jamie.
Well, or walks in the park. Well, maybe no, no, no, we're
not. We're not.
So tonight is my episode and I Iguess we obviously we had a
cover slide that was correct this week.
So we we know, we know that tonight we're going to talk
(04:18):
about Men in Black. So let's dig in.
So for most of us, our knowledgeof Men in Black starts back in
1997 with the release of the film Men in Black starring Will
Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as secret agents working to police
and monitor alien interactions on Earth.
The film is about an age-old oddcouple pairing of a grizzled
(04:39):
veteran and an upstart newbie who thinks he knows more than
his experience allows them. After a commute, training, and
get to know you period, a villain arrives and threatens
the world. And spoiler alert, the Men in
Black go on to save the day and do so again and again through
three sequels. Sound familiar?
Yeah, yeah. All right.
(05:00):
That's my episode. Goodnight everybody.
No, no, no, no. Your homework is to watch the
movies. That's it No, there's actually a
lot more to this and and you know, from the from the world of
entertainment, you know what we see in films usually comes from
something in print, right? Usually first.
(05:20):
So for those who enjoy comics, you know that the Men in Black
was originally a comic book series written by Lowell
Cunningham and 1st published in 1990 Under Air Cell Comics,
which went on to be bought by Malibu Comics and eventually by
some company called Marvel Comics.
You ever hear of them? Maybe, maybe, I don't know,
right here they have a chance tomake it.
(05:43):
While there was only originally only a three book run, I think
it's safe to say that the comic left an impression.
Here's the plot from the original comic series.
The Men in Black is an international agency which
overseas and investigates both good and evil paranormal
activity on Earth, including alien life, demons, mutants,
zombies, werewolves, vampires, legendary creatures, and other
(06:07):
paranormal beings. In order to keep their
investigation secret, much of the global population are
unaware of their activities and are liable to be neutralized to
blank their memory of any interaction with the agents or
the phenomenon connected to them.
That sounds familiar, right? From the movies.
Notable members include Zed, KJ,and XX.
(06:31):
Later becomes a rogue agent after learning that the MIB Man
in Black seeks to keep the supernatural hidden in order to
manipulate and reshape the worldin their own image.
An agent may use any means necessary, including death and
destruction, to accomplish a mission.
Agents sever all ties with theirformer selves and thanks to the
Neutralizer, as far as the worldis concerned, they do not exist.
(06:56):
So there are a few differences between the comics and the
films. Most notably, the direct focus
of the films is on extraterrestrial activities and
not the power or supernatural elements.
The films use memory erasure instead of killing witnesses.
True, yeah. Seems probably a good thing,
right? You know, in the films, the goal
(07:17):
is to maintain an order on Earthinstead of directing it into
their image. And the comics are very dark
where the films went to a comedic tone.
As the old saying goes, truth isstranger than fiction.
Let's see if that's the case with Men in Black.
Let's dig in a little deeper. OK.
Wow. Now when I see Heather's here.
Good evening, Heather. Yeah.
(07:38):
No deviled eggs, Right? I know an American.
Or is it? I don't know.
Where are deviled eggs from? By the way, that's a side
project. All right.
So in 1952, Albert K Bender of Bridgeport, CT formed the
International Flying Saucer Bureau, or IFSB, which you may
(08:00):
have likely never heard of because while meeting immediate
success, that was abruptly shut down the following year.
Shortly after the shutdown, Bender shared that three men in
black suits had imparted on him the true meaning to the UFO
mysteries, which turned his lifeinto a nightmare.
Bender would say no more on thisand no more details are
available. Three years later, an IFSB
(08:26):
associate of Bender's name, GrayBarker, wrote a book called They
Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers.
In the book, the first mention of Men in Black made it to
print. According to Barker, men in
black were found at UFO sightings as far away as
Australia, scaring UFO buffs into silence over what they had
seen. Through the years, Men in Black
(08:47):
tales had become a part of American folklore.
The speculation of who the Men in Black were expanded to
include them actually being aliens themselves.
And like any good story, it tooka life of its own in the mid to
late 1980s. Conspiracy theories of aliens
working with secret society starting started with goals of
aliens on colonizing Earth, creating superhumans, and more
(09:09):
began to come forward. Some may say this is the
catalyst for Fox's The X-Files that premiered in 1993.
After all, aliens were the core of the show's eleven seasons and
two feature films and the reboot.
So I thought I'd step back here a second.
And you know, one of the things that's prominent with Men in
(09:31):
Black is UFOs, right? At least the way we know them in
the current mainstream. So considering all of this
started with UFO sightings, I was curious to see how UFO
sightings are officially investigated and verified.
And I found this happens to a combination of eyewitness
reports, radar data, video or photographic evidence, and in
(09:52):
some cases, physical traces leftat the sighting location.
Investigations may involve government or military
officials, aviation experts, andufologists.
Ufologists, sorry. Credible sightings often undergo
rigorous scrutiny to rule out conventional explanations such
as aircraft, weather phenomena, or celestial objects.
(10:13):
Just for some reference, here are some of the most documented
and generally considered legitimate UFO sightings in
recent history. The Hudson Valley UFO wave
between 1982 and 1986. Around 5000, eyewitnesses
reported seeing V shaped UFOs with multi color lights flying
near the Hudson Valley just one hour north of New York City.
(10:35):
The first, excuse me the first sighting was made on New Year's
Eve in 1982 by a retired police officer in Kent, New York.
The former officer initially thought he was observing an
airplane. When the craft passed above his
home, he realized it was moving far too slowly and quietly to be
an airplane. While most of the eyewitnesses
described a slow moving B shapedUFO, other reports said the
(10:58):
object appeared to be circular and capable of moving at
fantastic speeds, were disappearing altogether.
During one sighting, the UFO hovered about 30 feet above the
Indian Point nuclear plant. The security supervisor was
considering shooting the craft down before it disappeared from
sight. Despite eyewitness reports and
photographic evidence, the phenomenon was never properly
(11:20):
explained. The next Shag Harbor UFO
incident The Shag Harbor UFO is Canada's equivalent of the
Roswell UFO in the United States.
On October 4th, 1967, an unknownobject crashed into the water
near a tiny fishing village of Shag Harbor Harbor, Nova Scotia.
(11:41):
At least 11 people watched the object as it headed towards the
harbor. Multiple witnesses heard a
whistling sound and a loud bang as it crashed into the water.
Shortly afterwards, Lori Wickensand four of her friends of his
friends contacted the Royal Canadian Mounted Police after
they spotted a large object floating in the Atlantic Ocean
about 1000 feet from shore. The RCMP and Royal Canadian Navy
(12:05):
and the Royal Canadian Air Forcebecame involved in an
unsuccessful recovery attempt. The investigation revealed that
all commercial, private, and military aircraft along the
eastern seaboard were accounted for.
The Navy combed the sea floor ofthe Gulf of Maine but found
their trace of the object. The next Westfall UFO Around
(12:25):
11:00 AM on April 6th, 1966, an unexplained flying object flew
around Westfall High School in Melbourne, Australia.
More than 200 students and several teachers watched the UFO
as descended into a nearby field.
Eyewitnesses watched the craft hovering around the school for
approximately 20 minutes. The craft was described as being
a Gray saucer shaped object thatwas about twice the size of a
(12:48):
family car. So it's a roomy version, Yeah.
There were no commercial, private or Royal Australian Air
Force planes in the area at thattime.
It was suggested that a weather balloon may have been
responsible for the confusion, but eyewitnesses quickly
dismissed that explanation. The Australian Skeptics, which
is a group, suggested that the object was experimental military
(13:11):
aircraft similar to the nylon target drones that were towered
that were towed by RAAF planes at the time.
But the Air Force reported that they were not in the airspace at
the time of the incident. Next is Anchorage, AK and I'm
going to turn your Wayback machine onto this one.
Let's go back to our Alaskan Triangle episode and this may
sound a little familiar. On November 18th, 1986, a
(13:36):
Japanese Boeing 747 cargo aircraft was followed for nearly
an hour by an unidentified flying object.
The crew witnessed 2 objects while flying over eastern
Alaska. As the objects got closer to the
plane, the cabin was lit up and filled with a strange heat.
As those two objects flew away, a much larger disk shaped craft
emerged from the darkness and started to follow the 747.
(13:59):
Captain Tarracchi contacted Anchorage Air Traffic Control
and requested a change of course.
The UFO followed the plane despite any of the captain's
maneuvers. All of the data, including the
ground radar that captured the unidentified craft, was
collected and presented at a meeting with the FBI and the
CIA. After reviewing all of the
material, the government officials decided this was the
(14:21):
first radar recording of a UFO. However, they insisted their
meeting never took place, so it's a domestic one as well.
Chicago O'Hare International Airport This is fairly recent.
On November 7th, 2006, a metallic silver shaped craft was
seen hovering over the O'Hare International Airport in
(14:41):
Chicago. John Helkovich from the Chicago
Tribune reportedly said the discwas visible for approximately 2
minutes and was seen by close toa dozen United Airlines
employees ranging from pilots tosupervisors.
The object apparently shot straight up and carved a visible
circular hole through the clouds.
(15:02):
The Federal Aviation Administration initially claimed
that they didn't have any information about the sighting.
The Chicago Tribune then filed aFreedom of Information Act
request, which uncovered recorded conversations
concerning the UFO. The FAA suggested that the
sighting was the result of a weather phenomenon called a hole
punch cloud. But the temperatures that they
make this explanation impossible.
(15:24):
Then the FAA said that the airport lights were responsible
for the sighting, but the lightshadn't been turned on yet.
A proper investigation was neverconducted.
The Alderney UFO sighting Captain Ray Bauer Bauer was
flying a routine 45 minute flight from Southampton, England
(15:46):
on December 23rd, 2007 when he and his passengers saw two UFOs
as they approached Alderney. The Jersey Airport radar control
recorded the two large yellow cigar shaped objects.
Objects. Excuse me for over 55 minutes.
Another pilot flying a plane near Sark also confirmed the
presence and location of these mysterious crafts.
(16:07):
BBC Radio Guernsey also reportedthat visitors at the hotel in
Sark had noticed and inquired about the bright yellow lights,
yellow objects in the sky duringan address to the UN National
Press Club on November 12th, 2007.
Captain Bowyer said the British Civil Aviation Authority knew
within 20 minutes of the sighting what was seen as
(16:29):
described in a flight log and faxed directly to the relevant
CAA office. Despite the pilots openness
about the incident, the cooperation of the military, and
countless eyewitness reports from passengers and people on
the ground, the incident remainsa complete mystery.
Staying in Europe, the Belgian UFO wave.
(16:49):
I like how these things have waves.
Yeah. So between November of 1989 and
April of 1990, thousands of people reportedly witnessed
triangular UFOs flying over various parts of Belgium.
On multiple occasions. The Belgian officials even
tracked these objects using radar.
(17:09):
During the evening of March 30, 1990, an estimated 13,500 people
watched as the UFOs were chased by two F Sixteens over the
course of an hour. The 2F Sixteens made 9 attempts
to intercept the UFOs and were able to make a radar lock with
their targets. During one of the radar locks,
the UFO accelerated from 150 miles an hour to over 1100 mph
(17:33):
while changing altitude from 9000 feet to 5000 feet in a
matter of seconds. After his retirement, Major
General Winifred Day Brauer wrote in a statement that the
Belgian UFO wave was exceptionaland the Air Force could not
identify the nature origin, intentions of the reported
phenomena. The Belgian objects still have
(17:54):
never been explained. The next, there's only a few
left. Cash.
The Cash Landrum Incident On December 29th, 1980, Betty Cash,
Vicki Landrum, and Colby Landrumsaw 23 unidentified helicopters
surrounding a huge diamond shaped object that was hovering
above the trees. The object emitted such
(18:17):
tremendous heat that the outsideof the car was painful to touch
and a handprint was seared on the softened vinyl interior.
A Dayton police officer, Detective Lamar Walker, and his
wife also claim to have seen helicopters near the same area.
After the incident, the group suffered from vomiting,
diarrhea, and terrible burning sensations.
Betty Cash developed painful blisters on her skin, lost
(18:40):
clumps of hair, and once unable to walk.
A radiologist examined the groupand concluded that they were all
suffering from secondary damage from ionizing radiation.
They sued the US government for $20 million, but the case was
dismissed in 1986. Some people still believe that
the government covered up covered up its involvement in
(19:01):
the incident. And Chad, here's one I know you
know the Rendlesham Forest incident previous episode.
The UFO was observed on December26th, 1980 in England's
Rendlesham Forest near the RoyalAir Force Station at Woodbridge.
After witnessing some unexplained lights, several Air
(19:21):
Force personnel, including Lieutenant Colonel Charles I
Halt, decided to head into the woods to get a closer look.
They were expecting to find a plane crash.
Instead, according to Holt's memo, they saw a glowing
metallic object that moved at a phenomenal speed through the
forest. The next day, servicemen
returned to the site and found triangular shaped impressions on
(19:43):
the ground, broken branches on the trees, and radiation
readings that were 10 times the normal background level.
In 2010, retired Lieutenant Holtsigned a notarized affidavit
that summarized the incident andaccused the US and England of a
cover up. While some believe it was a hoax
or a fallen Soviet satellite, others think this was a
legitimate UFO sighting. And finally, the Phoenix Lights,
(20:09):
a huge V shaped UFO reportedly passed over Phoenix around 8:15
PM on the evening of March 13th,1997.
The object was described as having five spherical lights and
was as large enough to block outthe stars as it flew overhead.
People from various locations across Arizona, including
Phoenix, reported seeing the V shaped UFO moving silently
(20:29):
across the sky. Around 10:00 PM that evening,
the US Air Force dropped slow falling military grade flares
into the sky. The media captured video of the
military exercise believing it was connected.
It was connected to the UFO sightings.
Some people think that the military deliberately filled the
sky with lights to discredit theUFO sightings made earlier in
the evening, former Arizona Governor Fife Symington, the
(20:53):
third later said, I can definitely say that this craft
did not resemble any man made object I'd ever seen.
And it was certainly not high altitude flares because flares
don't fly in formation. So seeing a lot of that to say,
given the advancements in cameraand video technology to capture
(21:13):
perceived USOUFO activity, and the speed at which we can upload
content to their net, I would bet that Men in Black have had a
hard time keeping up with all ofthis.
This may explain why we have seen such a sharp increase in
the volume of sightings, and even why the US government is
now willing to share its own collection of sightings over the
last few years. So what could this be?
(21:35):
Let's take a look at the government's early involvement
with UFOs. And I want to point out that
most of this is done through theUnited States Air Force, which
was officially formed in 1947, where most of the documented
records begin. So first in 1947, there was
project sign. The project tried to explain
(21:55):
several military military reported UFO sightings and
determine if they were extraterrestrial in origin,
while also considering potentialthreats to national security,
especially related to related topossible espionage by the Soviet
Union. This is the Cold War all right
project last December of 1947 toto to February.
(22:17):
I'm sorry of 1949 and investigated 243 sightings.
Now on with that came project grudge.
Great name, by the way, grudge and I can't I couldn't find it
was an acronym or not. I'm hoping it is, but it's still
pretty cool. The project was a scaled down
version of Project Sign and Explore 243 additional sightings
before giving way to Project Blue Book, which I think we've
(22:38):
all heard of, and Project Blue Book itself Running from 1952 to
1969. The project is the longest
running known program to get dedicated to investigating UFOs.
The project generated controversy because of its
subject matter and the secrecy surrounding its operation.
Project Blue Book investigated 12,618 sightings and officially
(23:02):
701 of them remain labeled as unidentified.
The others were deemed aircraft, weather balloons, you know, the
usual weather phenomenons, things like that.
Celestial bodies misrepresentations.
Officially, no physical evidenceof extraterrestrial origin was
(23:23):
collected during this project, and the entire project was
declassified in 1976 along with Project Sign and Project Rudge,
and can be found at the NationalArchives Building in Washington,
DC for viewing. So while the government may have
had a genuine interest in UFOs, they also had a direct hand in
(23:44):
propagating the aura and mystique around them.
During my research, I came across a very interesting
documentary called Mirage Men from 2013 that presents
evidence, including the admission from an Air Force
Office of Special Investigation Officer, that the US government
intentionally spread informationabout UFO sightings and
activities to deflect attention away from classified military
(24:07):
projects in at least the 1980s and 1990s.
A simple explanation for this would be that even though the
stories were always a weather balloon, a real aircraft, some
celestial body, or a natural phenomenon, many times people
actually saw military test flights and launches.
By keeping tabs on the various UFO organizations, the
(24:27):
government would control the narrative around these
activities and know the players involved to keep out foreign
operatives seeking to infiltratethe same groups hoping to
capture our top secret military information.
Right, So think about that for asecond.
So to kind of wrap up, to me thepossibility of Men in Black
(24:49):
being real is just a bit out of my ability to find plausible.
They find it hard to accept thatsome mysterious shadow agency
with otherworldly equipment and weapons far beyond their
abilities to create are out there covering up USUFO
sightings and encounters. I believe the Men in Black are a
well orchestrated tale that has grown from an effort of
deception into a folklore that will be with us for a very very
(25:11):
long time. Also, I highly recommend
watching the documentary Mirage Men to form your own opinion.
It's available on Amazon Prime and has just an hour and 27
minute runtime. It's pretty easy digest.
OK. So let's take some sources and
discuss iflscience.com, howstuffworks.com,
(25:33):
spaceslashaliens-ufosbritannica.com/topic/projectBlue Book reference number
1329386, theguardian.com and TheMirage Men documentary.
Chad, I've said a lot of stuff in a short amount of time.
(25:54):
So, and it's to me, I'll, I'll, I'll start this.
So it to me, I really believe Men in Black, while entertaining
films and the really dark comic series, is really just a bit of
folklore that we have allowed toexpand and grow.
And, you know, and knowing that the government's on the back end
in a lot of ways, it certainly doesn't seem strange that they
(26:18):
would come to investigate, especially when they wanted to
have a hand in controlling the narrative.
I think it's the important part of this, you know, part of it is
intimidation. You know, a bunch of dudes
showing up in suits, you know, if they are official looking,
they are, they're not answering questions.
They're just, you know, trying to control again, the narrative,
you know, and the infiltration of the various groups.
(26:40):
You know, soon they found someone.
And it's, it's in the documentary.
There's, there's actually an officer, you know, from, from
the Air Force Office of Special Investigation who described how
he would select a person to target and the efforts that he
made with that. And one of the cases that one of
the individuals actually gave a speech at one of the large UFO
(27:03):
conventions in Las Vegas, explaining that, you know, a lot
of this is all just a hoax. And, and it's fascinating, you
know, because then you don't know what to believe.
And I think, you know, once onceyou start to lose that
visibility of truth, then it becomes, all of it becomes very
Gray what you want to believe. Right.
(27:24):
So what do you think? You know, I, I think, yeah, a
secret organization of people ishiding something.
No, I don't think that's what itis.
I think it, it is researchers because when we talked about the
Rendlesham Forest incident, I don't know if you remember or
not, but there were, there were two men who showed up in suits
(27:46):
who did investigate, ask a lot of questions.
They, they went to the forest workers who were in the area and
asked questions and, and all that.
So that there are, I think there's researchers out there.
One term that you used what I had never heard of, which was
hole punch clouds and I I I justpulled this up real quick.
(28:12):
It looks more like ghosts than flying saucers.
To move it sure does. So, but it's a it's a phenomenon
where things cool and water droplets have either fallen out
of the sky or so you get these holes where there's like super
cooling that's happening or, or something along those lines.
(28:32):
But it is a weather phenomenon. So it's it's pretty cool, but.
I I googled that too because I had no idea what it was.
So, yeah, but yeah, interesting. But is there a secret
organization? I I think it's folklore.
I think it's stories. I think it's, you know, media.
Yeah. It, it makes a great story,
makes a great movie. But realistically, I don't think
(28:54):
so. So it keeps it keeps you on your
toes though too, you know, like you know, and I'll go back to
The X-Files for a moment. You know what's what's the
tagline from The X-Files? The truth is out there.
Or. The other and the other one,
there's two, sorry, that's that is correct.
Not not challenging that. But what's the other one?
Trust no one. Trust no one.
(29:15):
Right. So, you know, this is, this is
that deception factor, you know, and, and again, that's fiction
and I'm not trying to put it into to be reality at all.
But you know, in the same way there is the idea that if the
government is presenting something and, and there is a
case of, of a gentleman in in the Albuquerque area who live
(29:36):
really close to Kirkland Air Force Base, which is in the
South side of town. So he lived down, down on the
bottom of one of the mountains and he had an overview of the,
the, the base. And he would set up cameras of
curiosity. He would set up cameras.
He has a rate ham radio operator.
He caught radio signals, but he,he was seeing strange lights.
And then he would take it to thebase and report it.
(29:56):
And that's how the Air Force became aware of him.
And this is documented in the, in The Mirage Men.
So you can see all of this. The government then assigned an
operative to work with him to give him just enough information
to think he's telling you what he's seeing is something alien
versus the fact that they were actually test flights and other
other, you know, launches of equipment and training materials
(30:18):
and things that we were doing. You know, this is this is in the
era of the 8 eighties 90s when like cell bombers were coming
out. Yeah.
So, you know, we're we're it better to test flight these
things in the middle of nowhere.I mean, Albuquerque is not the
middle of nowhere, don't be wrong.
But if you head South away from, you know, and southwest
specifically, you start to get out in the middle of nowhere,
northern part of the state, you know, you start getting up in
(30:40):
like the Farmington area. There's nothing up there, you
know, and they were using that area.
There was actually, they commented there was a, a
commando training base there andthis fellow was a pilot.
So he would fly over the area and then see activity or see
things that he couldn't explain. So they would tell him it was a
crash and what it really was a military installation or a base,
(31:03):
you know, that wasn't supposed to be known.
So you know, here you take that.Where do you, where do you draw
the line of trust? You know, when when someone from
your leadership, which is your government, in this case an
operative who has identified himself as such, he's not
clandestine. He's not hiding it.
You know, he's fully saying who he is, what his full name is,
what branch he's with, what he, what his title is.
(31:24):
He's telling this guy stuff thatis leading him away from the
truth and into a whole other thing.
And unfortunately, this fellow pretty much went bonkers off of
this. And, you know, a very, very bad
mental health breakdown happenedbecause of it, because of an
obsession, you know, and you don't know that personality type
(31:45):
going into it. So, you know, he's just playing
the playbook to tell him the things he's telling him the
operative is. But you know, that's that's
where you have to kind of draw the line.
And eventually I, you know, at least he claimed the operative
claims he came clean and told him not to go any war with this.
It's you know, it's not worth it.
There's nothing to it, you know, that stuff.
But by that point, he was so fargone that it was past the point
(32:06):
of return. So.
So is the right? So it was the typical
illusionist. Look here, look at what I've got
going on here. So you don't see what's really
happening over here? Yep.
I, I, I prefer the term swerve, but exactly that, you know, and
it is, you know, how many times do we think that is what's going
on? You know, we, we are told when
(32:28):
there was a sighting that it wasa weather balloon or it was a
this or was it that, you know, and, and the reality is it was
probably some of our equipment and tech being tested and
utilized, you know, in, in flight, you know, in some
launching. But however, you know, here's
where, here's where it goes. Do I want to believe, you know,
do you want to believe that it was that possibly because that
(32:51):
that's rational, or do you want to do you want to believe that
it's some kind of extraterrestrial thing?
You know, and that's where you have to make your choices.
And there are a lot of groups out there, you know, there's a
whole lot of organizations that are dedicated to the skies, you
know, and the things that come from it.
And it's a it's a huge network around the world, you know, So
(33:11):
obviously I think a lot of people want to go that route and
I don't blame them. You know, it's fascinating.
But the reality is more time than not, what we're
experiencing is terrestrial. It's our own stuff.
Well, there are some beliefs that that's about to change,
Jamie. Not that I don't want to my, my
(33:32):
dad listens to some things. I've also watched some things on
YouTube and you know, the, the Tik Toks and all those, there's,
there's people who believe that in 2025 the aliens are going to
reveal themselves to, to humanity and they're here for a
purpose and they're not sharing what that purpose is, but they
(33:54):
have decided that now is the time to reveal themselves.
So the date keeps moving becauseit was going to be in March.
Now it was going to be in, you know, but it keeps moving.
But there, you know, and these are psychics who who channel
extraterrestrials and and you know, so take it with a grain of
(34:17):
salt. But who knows, maybe we will
learned something this year yet.So absolutely.
Well, look, we are, we are as, as a culture, we are truly
fascinated by this, the contact part of it, you know, there how
many books, movies, shows, I mean, there's a ton of media
presentation, regardless of whatoutlet you like about it, you
(34:37):
know, so our, our minds have always been there.
You know, I, I fear that the reality is going to be uniquely
different than the presentationswe've seen.
And that's, that's the challengeof this.
You know what, what is that going to be?
Is it may be well more like the bad guys from Independence Day
then it would be like ET, you know, so, or the Balkans from
(34:59):
Star Trek or something. You know, like, you know, you
come in like give us all kinds of cool stuff.
You know, it, it doesn't, it's, it's, it's likely not to be good
and at least not right away. You know, and, and like anything
else, when, when Europeans came to, to the Americas, you know,
the first thing they brought with them besides a, a, an over
(35:20):
or overlording mentality was also a lot of disease and
illnesses that weren't, you know, the, the, the, the natives
weren't able to overcome becausethey had no immunity.
So who knows what that could look like for us.
And that can be and. And foods that they couldn't eat
because they, you know, just things that they weren't ready
for. Yep, absolutely.
(35:41):
So who's to say what's going to happen then if it happens?
But maybe it's a win. I mean, it's hard to believe
with all, with all of the all that's out there beyond us that
we're the only ones that I, I find that hard to believe.
And I'm not saying there are there are little green men
running around somewhere, but maybe a little blue men instead.
Who knows? Like Spurs the cooler, right?
(36:06):
Yeah, Well, sorry Bert. It figured it cut Bert's comment
after this listening they that figures as soon as Heather and I
get all set for retirement. Aliens.
SO and Bert had a comment earlier.
Jamie, maybe the shadow figures are actually men in black.
Ah, maybe. Maybe.
And our friend Chris Mendez joined in for a little while.
(36:29):
So so I forget dad. Dad was watching one of those
shows about space and, and things yesterday.
And one of the things that they talked about was, you know, we,
we've beamed a signal out to somewhere and it was, you know,
it's, it's going to catch up to one of the spacecraft that we've
launched eventually. And then it's going to continue
(36:52):
on into Infinity. And it's like, well, how do we
know it's going to continue on to affinity?
It might bounce off something like it may hit something like
we, we just, we don't know so. Well, that's the objects remain
in motion. Remain in motion, you know,
something resistant. So.
It, it certainly is going to eventually, I think it's going
to hit something, you know, somespecial body planet, whatever
(37:18):
asteroids, but or or maybe just maybe another ship, yeah.
So. So who knows?
Well, this, I want to say this, this, this, this didn't go where
I thought it would. And, and I, you know, I really
wanted there to be some, you know, I can, I can get down a
Reddit rabbit hole here very quickly.
(37:39):
You know, Men in Black, I reallycould.
But that's a lot of fiction, youknow?
And there just isn't much documentation to have validity
to say that this is something real and you know, the, the as
soon as you turn. Sorry.
I got it, yeah. Yeah, Speaking of things, this
is going to bounce off of that. That radio wave Bird added the
(37:59):
Death Star. Oh, yeah.
That's a Galaxy far, far away, but a long, long time ago, too,
Sir. Unless there's a third one out
there somewhere. We took care of the the good
guys took care of two of those. I saw the movies.
I could prove it. But, you know, I lost my train
of thought completely on it. Thanks, Bert.
Oh my gosh. Yeah, gone.
(38:22):
It's gone. Yeah, that's what happens when
you get older, Jamie. You're lucky you're on another
screen. I'm punching the wrong way.
Yeah, I I totally lost that. Dang it.
So anyway, yeah, it's it's an interesting topic.
(38:42):
You said you was going in a different direction than you
thought it would. Well, yeah, and and that thank
you. You know, the, the idea of the
government getting involved really turned it for me.
And, and, and literally watchingThe Mirage Men documentary, it's
it is, it's dated because of theerror that it was, you know, the
evidence was created from, but it's current in the sense of
(39:03):
what they're talking about from back in the 20 tens.
So it's not that old, you know, and it apparently won an award
somewhere one way too. So, but you know, it's it's one
of those things where and it's just one piece of information.
Don't be wrong. You know, I can't, I can't use
it as as gospel, but, you know, without, without more, I can't
(39:26):
make it be more, you know, And there is isn't a whole lot other
than someone in a suit showed up.
And and that could be that couldvery well be a detective from a
Police Department, right? Yeah.
It doesn't necessarily have to be something clandestine.
So, you know, and, and but once we're ready to see something or,
you know, have something happen,we accept that it could be when
(39:47):
something does, like someone's showing up, we expect it to be
the man in black then, you know,or something like it, at least.
And, you know, sometimes it's just a legitimate dude coming
home from work in a suit, you know, stop by, but.
But Jamie, if he's using a memory eraser, how are we going
to know? That's true.
That's very true. You know Chad I.
(40:08):
I back in the 90s, I had, I was an employee of Blockbuster
Video. Remember then?
Yeah, yeah. Everybody, I was right.
Anybody. Of an age knows this.
So we had I, I was a store manager.
So, you know, I, I got to go to a conference and in Atlantic
City and it was at the time of the men in black release.
(40:28):
So it was a men in black themed dinner one night where we all
got to wear our black suits, black ties, you know, the whole
9 yards of it and. Sunlight and there are ray.
Bans, you know, so the one thingthat I grew very, very tired of
really quickly is everybody turning to the person around
them and saying, you know the difference between you and me.
(40:50):
I make this shit look good that.That.
And the hook from the song, which has been in my head for a
couple weeks. I mentioned this last week.
I think I'm ready to let it go. So but you know, entertainment
is great. All that is fun, you know, and
and it has become such a cultural thing.
There's four movies, you know, alone and you know, each one of
(41:16):
them was bigger and more bombastic than the last one
because it had to be. And I think the 4th one kind of
dud it anyway. But you know, they went off the
the path of the actors. But I really, I really can tell
you this. I appreciate the third one
because Josh Brolin played a very young Tommy Lee Jones and
nailed it as an upcoming agent and had to go back in time.
So I really recommend go back and watch them all.
(41:37):
They're fun. It's it's great summer
afternoon, you know, rainy, rainy Sunday, you know, kind of
thing in the summer kind of deal.
So that's it. That's where it ends.
It's, it's entertainment. It's, it's fiction, it's, it's
folklore. You know, it's just, there's
just not enough truth here to just, I can't say it's
paranormal. I can't say it's even a reality.
And I'll, I'll stand on that andwe'll see.
(41:59):
How much we do start seeing morethings now that like you said,
cell phone videos and things like that and see how much
deception like. If something is recorded.
That we see. Are we going to see some
attempted deception? Absolutely.
Well, there's there's a lot of. Shows now too, you know,
paranormal caught on camera comes immediately to mind where
(42:21):
people can just submit their their evidence to, you know, a
producer somewhere and they're going to they're going to pretty
it up as much as they can to make it, you know, television
worthy for 10 minutes of their time.
But you know, a lot of it is shaky cell phone video, you
know, or handheld camera video where and especially at night.
I mean, I'm, I'm, you know, I'm sorry to say this, but you know,
(42:41):
I anything recorded on. Your phone at night.
There's no depth perception. There's no, you know, there's
just no, no, no, no way of knowing where things really
stand. So and and now military.
Radar, that's a whole different story.
Yeah, that released recently so yes, absolutely.
And and you know. Camera plane cameras, you know,
(43:01):
military flights. The Tic Tac video comes to mind
that was released a year or two ago.
One of the things I can't get past, I, I used to live in
Phoenix and one of the first night I was there, I was, I was
driving I-10 from the West side to the east side where I lived.
And there's a tunnel and you come out of it and then on to
the right, which would be the South, is a whole Bank of
(43:25):
antenna lights, you know, the red flashy things and a lot of
them. And there's, it's South
mountain, you know, it's, it's, it's an elevated, it's not
really a mountain, but it's, it is a mountain to them.
So it's an elevated area where they have to put the antennas up
so that planes and and Sky Harbor airports really close by
so, you know, so they don't crash.
And I thought to myself, what the heck is that?
(43:46):
You know, it was just really like, whoa.
And then having later found out about the Phoenix flights, I'm
thinking to myself, you know what it was that it, but no, it
isn't, you know, but I'm saying like sometimes we can see stuff
like that and not realize where we are because you can't see
South Mountain in the dark. You just see the lights
elevated, you know, like up in almost look like they're up in
the sky, you know, at least at the light elevation, you know,
(44:10):
so you don't know. And you know, I can understand
if you're wanting to believe you're going to let something go
forward and you know, without any more evidence to it, you
know, it's it's tough and nighttime stuff is really tough.
I mean, we've we do a lot of ourwork at night too.
I get it. You know, anything we capture,
we really have to look at to make sure it is not just us
moving around creating shadows and things.
(44:31):
So as a paranormal investigator, that's that's really the
hardship of it is trying to knowing what to what to call
legitimate evidence and what to what to really separate is being
us and our and our peers around us moving around in our areas.
Yeah. Britt had a comment.
Here, can we get one clear picture or video?
I know. Yeah, I.
(44:51):
Wish so, yeah. So, and, you know, who knows
what else is out there that someone didn't feel like they
they could present. You know, maybe somebody has it
and it's, you know, just sittingin a memory bank somewhere on a
phone, you know, or a computer somewhere that they just don't
know how to present it or afraidto, or how much evidence is
(45:12):
sitting on there. That somebody hasn't gone
through, That's true. I'm talking about.
You talking about my voice recording?
Right now I feel a few years in mine and.
Yeah, video's caught up. Audio is not sad so, but it's.
Easy. I mean, it's easy to have
happen, so of course I agree. I agree.
(45:33):
Well, thanks for digging into it, Jamie.
Like you said it, you're not going to find documentation of
men on black, men in black. It's just not going to happen.
So yeah, it it shouldn't. Right.
If they're doing their, if they exist and they're doing their
jobs well, then we shouldn't know anything about them.
So, but thank you. For digging into the the UFO
(45:53):
stuff and yeah, I appreciate it.So alright.
Let's move on. Should we talk about what's
coming up? Let's do it.
All right. So Can you believe we're moving
into June already? Like, where's this year now?
No. But I'm ready, I'm ready for
this. June 3rd next Tuesday, I will be
(46:16):
doing Menahune talking about thethe Hawaiian Islands and the
spirits that have been found there believed to live there.
Then June 10th you're going to jump into Brushy Mountain State
Penitentiary. I know you're looking forward to
June 17th, so I hope I pulled this one off well enough for
you. But I'm looking at my, the house
(46:37):
that I grew up in and the stories surrounding it in
hauntings and there there's probably 10 or 15 stories of
that that are documented in justmy parents time of living at
that house. So, so yeah, we'll, we'll, we'll
dig into that. June 24th Gettysburg.
(46:58):
What do you have any idea what what route you're taking there,
Jamie? Because Gettysburg is a lot of
area to cover. I know not yet not.
Yet not enough yet anyway. All right, paring, paring down
of information has begun, but more to come.
OK. And then?
July 1st, we are wrapping up season 2.
The week after that I'm away, soI won't be.
(47:19):
We won't have an episode that week and the following week
we've got something interesting. We're not going to release it
yet, but we've got something, maybe a collaboration of sorts.
It's a great word collaboration,so.
That's what we've got. Coming up.
(47:39):
The next event that we have, that's a.
Public event, we are going to the Haunted Crescent Horror and
Paracon on June 26th. I believe that is the date.
That's going to be an interesting day, 12 to six out
in Crescent. Looking forward to that trip and
(48:03):
there's going to be an investigation after the Paracon.
If you want to get tickets to that event, you can do that.
Let's see coming up for us and I'm I jumped this week, Jamie.
We've got the the Paracon, then July 26th, August 16th,
(48:25):
September 27th, October 11th andOctober 18th.
We were at Boobies brewery with public investigations got a
follow up on it, but July 26th may be another peri unity event.
We're not quite sure yet, but that was originally scheduled
for that. I I agree with Bert here.
(48:45):
We've got to do a Gettysburg road trip.
There's there's quite a few spaces there.
There's the the, the orphanage, there's the cash town in.
I'd love just for a bunch of us to rent all the rooms at the
cash Town inn and just investigate.
I think that'd be a great fun time.
I agree if we can get my dad outof the house we could run down
(49:09):
to his house and investigate while he's not there, but that
that'd be hard. We put him in the cash down.
And we go to his house so see something like that.
So yeah, that's what we've we'vegot coming up and then after
that we've got the website up and running.
(49:31):
Like I said, it's it's it's still in its infancy.
We've got more to put up there, but it's Jot Dash
nicksparanormal.com check it out.
There's you can contact the teamthrough that.
If, if, if you have need a residential, we're even going to
be able to set that up through there.
If you need us to come out and check out a property, they'll be
(49:53):
information and then somebody can get back in touch with you.
As always, our Facebook, you found us here or on YouTube,
we've got TikTok and Instagram and drop us a line at
paranormallenspodcast@gmail.com.Let us know what we're doing
right, what we're doing wrong, what you want to hear.
As Jamie says, we are self programmed.
(50:14):
We can pull things and add things.
There's something you want to hear, Let us know.
Does that mean Maggie? Wants to see something I heard.
I heard maybe she's a. She's a she tried to join in
earlier. So yeah.
And Bert says cash John plan sounds doable.
All right. So.
(50:35):
At home game, maybe in the fall, you know?
Yeah. So that's a.
Good idea. Nice, nice crisp fall.
In the evening, out of the Cash John Inn.
Yeah. All right, Jamie, any other
final thoughts? No, no, I'm good.
(50:56):
I'm looking forward to Menahune next week.
You know, that sounds like a really fun episode and listener
submission as well. I might note that, you know, so
it's again, proof that we, we certainly are willing and able
to hop into a topic that you, you as a listener, you know,
submit to us or present to us, you know, always happy to do so.
And, and you know, more we know, the more we, we do, the more we
(51:19):
know and expands us as well. So we're happy to just let us
know. I, I think you put out a request
over the last two episodes now that, you know, as we get up to
the, the season 2 wrap up episode to start getting some,
some feedback from folks about the episodes they enjoyed the
most this year, the season. But yeah, obviously that's,
that's slowly collecting. But you know, we certainly are
(51:41):
still looking for some more submissions there.
Just let us know what, what you think.
You know, maybe your top five ortop three even episodes.
I could say your top 50, you know, because that'd be like all
of them. That's cool too, right?
Yeah, in a particular order. You know, it's, it's as you
asked me last week, what are my favorites?
I'm like, I like them all, you know, so it's going to be tough.
(52:03):
But yeah, same, same assignment you gave me as to you as well.
Start start planning out your top five and we'll discuss as we
can close to that in that episode.
So sounds good. Looking forward to your
feedback. Folks, So thank you.
Thank you so much for joining us.
This, this is, you know, obviously much more fun when
folks come along. So, you know, we're happy to
have you. We're looking forward to
wrapping up Season 2 and jumpinginto the Season 3 shortly, so
(52:26):
keep an eye on more to come. All right.
Well, on that note, Jamie, I think it's time to say
goodnight. We will see everybody next
Tuesday. If you catch us normally on the
podcast, jump in on a Tuesday night.
Join us 9:00 PM Eastern StandardTime and or I guess it's we're
Eastern Daylight Time right now, whatever it is, but Eastern
(52:47):
Time. Join us 9:00 PM Tuesday nights
on Facebook or YouTube. All right, see y'all soon.
Great. Week, everybody.
Good night.
