What is the Human Spirit vs Holy Spirit vs Demonic Spirit?

Three Distinct Spirits

There are three spirits that the Bible talks about: the Holy Spirit (also known as the Spirit of God), the Human Spirit, and Demonic Spirits.

• The Holy Spirit that GIVES people the POWER to be able to become transformed into the likeness of Christ.
• Demonic Spirits are the fallen angels that went along with Satan's revolt against God (Isaiah 14:12-15) and have at least 8 characteristics: demonic spirits are liars, accusers, deceivers, haters, intimidators, fear mongers, oppressors, and they can come in the form of disguisers.
• The Human Spirit comprises our intellect, our feelings, our anxieties, our passions, our creativity. The invisible human spirit is in charge of guiding our mental and emotional processes. 

On the Human Spirit, the Apostle Paul wrote, "For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God" (1 Corinthians 2:11 NASB).

The Human Spirit was inhaled into Adam, the first man. The breath of God gave Adam life. It's the Holy Spirit, the "Breath of God," who gives us spiritual life as new creations in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

Pastor Adrian Rogers once said, "'It is the human spirit that is the organ of spiritual knowledge. It is as the Holy Spirit energizes the human spirit that you begin to see and understand the things of God. The Bible says, "they are spiritually discerned" (1 Corinthians 2:14).'"

  • There is no second chance to accept Christ if someone dies before accepting Christ. That's why this decision must be made now as none of us know when we will draw our last breath on earth. It's the most significant decision that one can make and determines where you are going to spend eternity, either in heaven or in hell.
