Speaker 1 (00:00):
On this mini episode
of the pep talk podcast.
I am going to really help youout, but first I have a question
for you have you had your doseof pep today?
Got you?
Now let's get into it.
Welcome to a special edition ofthe pep talk podcast.
That's right, y'all you'regetting two episodes in one week
(00:22):
.
That is crazy.
Like I'm just giving, like I'mSanta Claus, like you get an
episode, you get an episode, youget an episode.
Or maybe that's like Oprah, Idon't know either way.
Either way, I know we justdropped an episode on Monday,
but I had something stirring andI really wanted to get it out
there and I could have done anInstagram reel or whatever.
But I just thought it might beGood to drop a bonus episode for
(00:47):
this week, just because, can Ido stuff?
Just because, okay, now,normally we're a we're a one
podcast per week type ofoperation, just because time
usually doesn't allow for this.
But after I finished recording,I said I still have had
something left in the tank thatI really wanted to address, and
(01:09):
so you know this is the podcastthat cheers you want to coaches
you up.
Sometimes people need coachingtwice in a week, right,
sometimes people need you knowthat therapy twice in a week,
whatever, whatever.
So I'm bringing it to you, I'mbringing you some motivation,
I'm bringing you some heat andhopefully this will make you
think a little bit as we reallydig Into things.
(01:29):
Now I'm gonna dig right into it.
If you've been rocking with us,thank you.
If you're new, glad to have you.
You remember the pep squad.
But I really want to jump rightinto this thought that I have
been Percolating on.
Is that okay?
I knew you'd say that's okay,all right, that's why I love you
.
That's why I love you.
So here's the thing, or one ofthe things, that keeps so many
(01:54):
people stuck.
Here's the thing that keeps somany people stuck.
I am convinced that we havebecome serial consumers of
content.
Serial consumers, not CER EL,not frosted flakes or rice
(02:18):
Krispies or Captain Crunch, butS E R I a L, serial consumers of
content.
And here's what I mean by that.
We will Watch the videos, wewill read the books, we will
sign up for the course, we willGosh, we will do so many, we all
(02:41):
.
We will attend the conferences, right, and so and, and listen,
I'm a life coach.
Right, I have a course onconfidence.
Right, I've written a couple ofe-books and an actual book.
I'd love to have y'all Purchasethose things.
I'd love to be your coach, right?
So I'm not saying that any ofthose things are bad, but here's
(03:04):
what here's what I'm saying islikely detrimental, and if you
are stuck and you don't knowwhat direction to go in, I'm
gonna give you a shift to makeQuit being a serial consumer of
content.
Because here's the problem.
We will sit, we'll watch tiktokvideos, will watch reels, you
know.
(03:24):
We will scroll Facebook.
We'll read book after bookafter book, self-help book after
psychology book.
After we'll read all the books, will buy all the courses and
hire all of the coaches, butwhat won't we do?
We won't take action.
We will not take action and seewhen you consume and consume,
(03:47):
and consume and consume.
You're basically just givingyourself a big Consumption gut.
You have all of this, all ofthis book knowledge and
Instagram knowledge and tiktokknowledge.
We have all of these thingsthat are stirring around in you
and it has nowhere to go to comeout.
(04:09):
You are Consumption constipatedand I'm sorry if that makes
somebody clutch your pearls orgasp or whatever.
I'm just gonna speak honestlywith you.
Some of y'all are Areconstipated.
You are consuming way too muchcontent all the motivation, all
(04:31):
the mindset talk, all thepodcast and keep listening to
the podcast.
But you're consuming all of itand I don't want you listening
to this podcast and not making achange, not taking action, not
doing something as a result ofwhat you've heard or read or
learned.
That is going to radicallychange the way that you think,
(04:53):
that's going to radically changethe way that you live your life
, y'all.
It's time out for just being aconsumer and a consumer and a
consumer, because I'm going tosay this if you are a serial
consumer, then you're beingselfish.
Ooh, he said it.
Yeah, I did.
Why would I say that you feelare a serial consumer?
(05:15):
You're being selfish becauseyou are taking the brilliance
and the genius of everybody elseand you're not contributing
your own brilliance and geniusto it.
Come on, somebody, you havesomething inside of you that's
special and maybe you don't seeit, but you're definitely not
going to see it.
As long as you keep consumingwhat everybody else is putting
(05:36):
out there, it's just never goingto happen.
You're only going to be able tocycle through what everybody
else is saying and like it ornot.
The more you consume withoutdoing, the more your unique
voice is going to be stifled andcrushed and shrunk down, until
the voice that you hear it'sgoing to be everybody else's but
(05:58):
it's no longer going to be yourvoice.
And I'm saying that to you assomeone who consumes a lot of
content.
But I don't just let it sitY'all.
I make videos, I make thepodcast, I produce digital
(06:18):
content.
I'm taking what I consume, I amrepackaging it in my way, with
my thoughts, and I'm putting itback out there to be a hopefully
, a blessing to somebody elseand yo.
That's what you have to do Ifyou're feeling stuck nine times
out of 10, your consumption gut, your content gut, is full and
(06:43):
you're constipated and you needsomething to get your system in
gear so that you could take allof this energy, all of this
potential energy that you haveamassed from consuming all the
content and reading all thebooks.
You have to take that and beginto do something with it.
So I'm challenging you rightnow.
(07:03):
I am challenging you to takewhat you have been consuming and
to become a producer.
Take the potential energythat's inside of you and begin
to take it and do something withit.
It doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to be something.
It has to be something becausewhen you, when you don't allow
(07:27):
what's special in you to comeout, eventually what's special
in you will fizzle out.
That's a hard truth, but it's atruth None the less, the less
so I challenge you.
(07:47):
You may need to take a contentfast and during that content
fast, you need to really searchand see what you need to be
doing, not what you need to belistening to or what you need to
be reading, cause I thinkyou've read enough.
I think you've watched enoughand listened to enough.
I think you know some stepsthat you can take right now that
(08:08):
will subsequently and radicallychange your life.
Matter of fact, I know you do.
I know you do.
Decide to act now.
Decide to act now.
That's the message.
Quit being a serial consumerand I need you to put some
(08:29):
energy behind your own passionand purpose and become a
producer.
All right, feel me All right.
Y'all be blessed.
Y'all be blessed.
Coach Jay is out.
