In today's episode, we discuss Rico's experience of writing his first journal article. We discuss how much of the research was done before Rico and his coauthors started writing the paper. We also learn about their co-creation process of writing in work sessions through videoconferencing.

Another topic we discuss is what Rico experienced as the easiest and hardest parts of the process, as well as how much time the group of authors took to write the article.

In addition, we discussed the steps of the manuscript submission system, and some particularities of some journals such as requiring a cover letter and suggesting reviewers.

We round off discussing what Rico might have done different in hindsight.

At the end of the episode, Rico asks Eva about her experience in writing her first journal paper, and what she remembers of the process. For Eva, writing the first paper was certainly a longer process than for Rico.
