Suck.

podcasting.

thought what on earth am I doing?
Or if you're just curious aboutthe magic behind your favorite
shows, then you're in the rightplace.
(00:22):
Get ready for laughs, insightsand a whole lot of what not to
do advice as we embark on thispodcasting journey together.
Let's dive in what's happening.
Everybody.
Welcome back to another episode.
Hey, thanks so much for takingsome time out of your day to
(00:43):
hang out with me for a fewminutes.
There's a lot of other thingsyou could be doing.
You decided to spend a fewminutes with me.
It means a lot to me.
Hope you're going to leave thisepisode knowing at least one or
two things that you did notknow, that you did not know
about the power of podcasting.
Yesterday was the 4th of Julyhere in the United States.
For those of you that may notbe in the US of A, it's a great
(01:07):
holiday.
It signifies our nation'sbirthday, our nation's history,
signifies the years have over.
It also is a great reminder Ofthe beautiful freedom that we've
been given In this beautifulcountry for those that have come
(01:29):
before us.
So it's a little bit ofreflection, a little bit of
celebration.
My Cubs won big eight home runsat Wrigley Field yesterday, a
franchise record.
I don't want to speak out ofturn, but we may be headed to
the big game.
But that's not what I want totalk to you about today.
I want to talk to you aboutwhat the 4th of July and
(01:51):
starting a podcast to grow yourbusiness have in common.
The very first thing and thefocal point of this holiday and
this topic is freedom.
Freedom from fighting overalgorithms that hate you.
(02:15):
Freedom from trying to go viraldancing in your kitchen I've
never done that.
Freedom from spammy, cold DMsthat scream I'm desperate.
I'm desperate for your business.
Nobody wants desperation.
Podcasting gives you the samefireworks, that same firework
(02:41):
moment that your business needs.
Let me say that againPodcasting gives you the same
fireworks moment your businessneeds.
Where you control the mic, youcontrol the message and the
momentum.
There's not a lot of stuff outthere where you can control all
three, can control all three.
(03:02):
Now, when I say control the mic, it's somewhat of a metaphor,
if you will.
You're in control of whatyou're saying into that
microphone, and then the messagethe message you're creating,
(03:30):
the value that you're puttingout to your listeners, and then
the momentum the podcast creates.
So if you're leveraging yourpodcast for your business which
you should to grow your businessthe momentum comes with having
conversations with people thatyou want to build a relationship
with.
The momentum comes fromrecording an episode every
(03:56):
single week.
The momentum comes from makingit a non-negotiable.
I know I'm beating the momentumdrum a bit here, but momentum is
a fickle thing.
It can show up in one minuteand disappear in the very next.
I come from the school ofthought, based on my 46 years on
(04:26):
this planet, I always tellmyself momentum doesn't last.
So when you get it, leverage itand run with it.
Momentum leads to freedom, justlike our founding fathers
probably said give me liberty orgive me downloads.
We all know that's probably nottrue, because downloads weren't
(04:51):
even a word back then.
But come on, I'm a comedian.
Can you laugh a little bit withme?
Imagine give me liberty or giveme downloads.
So here's what I want you to do.
Here's what I want to encourageyou to do.
Here's what I want to inviteyou to do.
Stop waiting for permission.
Declare your independence frominvisible marketing.
(05:15):
Start the podcast, own yourspace, light up your sales Pun
intended, get it Fourth of JulyFireworks, light up your sales,
but it literally does.
I interview people all the time.
If I get into a new mastermindgroup or I'm the new person in
(05:36):
the group or community, I startinviting people on my podcast.
I get to know them.
I figured out how I can helpthem and then I ask them when
they're going to start a podcastand I convert them into agency
clients.
But it all starts with apodcast episode.
It all starts with a podcastinvitation, an invitation to say
(05:58):
, hey Bill, podcast invitation.
An invitation to say, hey Bill, hey Maria, hey Jim, I'd love to
have you on the podcast.
I'd love to tell your story.
Let me know if you're open tothat.
Listen, unless someone'scompletely delusional and so far
inside their head about beingin front of a camera or a
microphone they're going to sayto say, absolutely, I'd love to
(06:23):
be on your podcast.
So leverage that.
So when we think this year'sfourth of july has come and gone
, as we still reflect on it, itfell on a friday, so it's kind
of fourth of july.
I really don't know what day itis, even though I know it's, my
calendar says it's Saturday, soI believe that.
But as we reflect on thefreedom, what kind of freedom
(06:47):
are you looking for in your life?
What kind of freedom are youlooking for in your business?
That's true success, in myopinion.
Freedom that's true success inmy opinion.
Freedom being able to do whatyou want, when you want, where
you want, with who you want, howyou want.
(07:08):
It's not about a dollar amount.
It's about creating a life anda business.
I come from the school ofthought I'm going to build my
business around my life.
I'm not going to build my lifearound my business.
My business doesn't run theshow.
I do.
That's freedom.
Friends, I hope you're leavingthis episode knowing at least
(07:29):
one or two things that you didnot know about freedom, about
the 4th of July, about ourfounding fathers in downloads,
about what it means to really befree with your life, with your
business.
What could you do with thatextra freedom, the extra time?
That's what podcasting affordsGetting in front of the right
(07:52):

business with as well.

All my calendar links are on myInstagram as well at podcast
suck, but just a littlehousekeeping, because I can't
figure out.
I don't even know why they hadthat stupid option to leave a
voice note.
I number one.
I can't even listen to it.
It's not a voice note, it'sjust transcribed.
And when I hit, reached out toBuzzsprout, our podcast hosting
(08:59):
provider.
They're like you should readthe reply on your next episode
and, I guess, hope that thatperson's listening.
So if you're listening to this, please shoot me a DM and go.
That was me that tried the.
That was the guinea pig for thepodcast.
Voice notes that aren't reallyvoice notes that I can't the
host can't actually reply to.
So I appreciate you sendingthat message, but I'd love to
(09:21):
connect with you further.
