(00:05):
So now I'm over at Triple M, It's all the music I grew up
with. Yeah, my husband's favorite
band. It's it's Matchbox 20.
It's. Hi, Patty.
It's Patty Gerard. Oh, my God.
Get over here. Come in.
This is Mez. Is this a pop up?

(00:26):
What's your head? Oh my God, did you just hit your
head? Hello mate.
So good to see you. Hi.
Sorry for interrupting this. No, you're not.
You've been planning it the whole time.
Yeah, he's like, when do you reckon's a good time?
I actually saw him hiding in theBush just over there.
He. Does that every morning and.
He was waiting for you to finishyour story and then he's like,
I'm just leaving. But I've got clothes on this

(00:46):
time. Yeah.
Oh God, Remember that last time in the van?
Yeah, I mean for. The courts we can't.
Yeah, and we can't. Yeah, and you wouldn't think you
could fit to two people in here, but when you spoon, yeah.
Yeah, I love what you've done with the van.
Thank you. Yeah, yeah, it's.
All going well. Yeah, it's going great.
You'll be in here soon. Thank you.
If you pass on the message, oh good.

(01:06):
Yeah. Yeah, I said.
You're. Looking well mate, you're really
looking. Well, I don't know, let myself
go. And because whatever, do I have
coffee? Don't you dare.
I couldn't. No, because yes, there's a
coffee machine. It doesn't look like it gets a
lot of use. I've never used it.
I boiled water once. Julie asked for a coffee every
time. I don't know how to use it.
And if I were to. Oh my God, if I were to tell

(01:28):
Julie that I gave Paddy the first coffee in the pod, Damn.
Yeah, She'd never come on this thing again.
It's. Lovely.
Actually, we're talking. I know this will be later, but
we will be talking to her on air.
Oh, are you on? Monday.
We're planning our show now, yeah.
Yeah, right. I'll TuneIn.
She's gonna give us recipe recipes for sausages.
Oh yeah. Why is she?
Oh good. Oh sausages, Festival of the

(01:49):
sausage. That feels like a segment you
can't do anymore on the radio. That's the.
Idea it was hey, guess who came up with that?
Course it is. I remember playing Hide the
Sausage. Yeah, was a big.
Cook don't want to hear about your love life of.
It the big core flute sausage and we'd hide it places around
around town and you have and youhave to call and if you'd seen
the sausage, why should. You hide the sausage, Yes.

(02:10):
So we're doing a big barbecue onthe front lawn because the
building's getting sold. It's one of the last live events
that we'll do. Hey big BBQ festival of the
sausage. Twist in the tail.
Guess who bought it? Get me?
Oh. Yeah.
I'm your new landlord and you'reboth fired.
I just got myself a pretty show.Don't worry about it, I've been

(02:33):
told that before. Every time between us, yeah, in
this room, we've probably been fired like 12 times.
Between the three of us, we're. Talking about it today, 123
hang. On 4, you and Mike get on she's
I'm sorry, you know, sorry. Hey, I've got.
Them Oh, you done place some. Place I.
I saw the one with Julie when the lady when you had the lady

(02:57):
who didn't know who Julie was. Oh.
My God, Val OH. Yeah, that was hilarious.
Wasn't that great? This is great.
Yeah. All right, we're on.
Yeah, I'm sorry about that. Oh my headphones.
Are unplugged, sat on the it's aseamless operation, this I'm the
tech guy. You're everything on marketing.
Yeah, I'm my, I'm my own sales department and I'm very close to

(03:20):
letting myself go. Don't.
Don't you know what I love The props though, that you've got in
the in the van. Everything's bolted down, so
yeah. What?
What do we? What do you mean?
Like you. Can't.
Is it? Really.
Is everything bolted down you? Kidding me?
Do you want to mass? You want that?
There's Pod Van Mug over there, grab yourself a cuppa and oh you
can't. This isn't like on the set of
Home and Away. Seriously.

(03:41):
And they have those croissants there.
Yeah, in that glass sort of covering.
They've been there for 23. Years are.
You buying the first Aqua awardsover there?
They've folded down too. Yeah, they're.
Holding stuff down, they're not going anywhere.
And they were truly good ones, yeah.
I don't look too closely. My name's not any of them did.
You buy, I'm off eBay. Pretty sure sure your name's on

(04:05):
one. We've never won one, so our name
wouldn't be on there. Yeah, you have you and either
separately. Or he, or he separately.
Oh. That was in the good old days.
In the good old days, yeah, yeah.
The good old days. He's doing your show with me
now, literally. Sitting next to marriage and
referring to the good old days when things were great and I
would win. Awards but.

(04:26):
There's no just. Didn't have a woman that.
Get out of. Me, man, it's tough when someone
comes along, just drags you down.
Sorry. About that.
Wanted to do this without. You ohh sorry sorry.
Oh my God, the thing she's been saying the.
Thing is, what's she been saying?

(04:47):
Oh I've never heard the word asshole more times in my life.
I do tell. Him that to his face as I said
that man sort of leaned back from the microwave.
You can't. I can.
You can get. Away more now doing your podcast
from your pod van can't you? What are you saying?
Things like asshole and stuff. Like I can say we've dropped F
bombs. Have you really?
I don't, I don't generally, but it doesn't take much to get the

(05:10):
explicit warning. So I just want to have it now
because I said that. Yeah.
Or even just Paddy coming into the van.
I I put it like, yeah, put a warning on it.
R rating. Yeah, so and, and this video as
well. So I'm going to put a warning on
that I. Haven't dropped my pants yet.
You know what is? That nude?
Reference you've made. Oh.

(05:30):
Sorry about that. It's funny, you guys.
Started it my rabbit city. I'm hiding beyond the Bush over
there. You take that to any place you
want to. But yeah, you can, you can.
You just have to put the explicit warning on it.
And at first I thought I wasn't going to swear at all 'cause I
wanted this to be family friendly because people would
contact me and go, oh, the kids. And I used to listen when
driving them to school. And I thought, yeah, all that,

(05:52):
be nice. Should be able to do that again.
Put the podcast on kids in the car.
But it's kind of, I don't know. I don't think I've had anyone
say that they listen with the kids in the car because they
can. Listen, whenever they want.
Right. So it's.
Yeah. So the thing with radio and one
of the things that I love about it is it's always there.
But it's only there for the timethat it says our show is 6 till

(06:12):
9. And they're done.
And then that's it for the day. And then everything you've said
is just in thin air. But podcasting lasts forever.
Like, this episode will stay online until someone decides to
take it down. And that means, Oh no, this is.
Yeah, I'll be taking this down next week.
Taking it down. Yeah, well, I'll just cut out
the stuff with Patty in it, but I'll edit it.
I'm not saying I'll delete the whole thing.

(06:32):
So you're. Just gonna keep the stuff with
Paddy in it and then to chop allof the me stuff out, no?
No, no, it wouldn't be long enough.
Hang on if you. Want if you want to win an
award, you'll keep me in, surely?
Sorry, I didn't even introduce him as award-winning, but you're
I, this is the thing that I absolutely love about the

(06:54):
podcast stuff is that you can listen at any time when and you
can start listening. And I get that with the longer
episodes like this one probably is going to be, it will be where
some people only have a 20 or 30minute drive in the morning and
then they'll listen on the way home as well.
Or doing some gardening on the weekends.
Throw the headphones on. Yeah, this is where I don't feel

(07:15):
that I'm in competition with breakfast shows.
You. Absolutely are not yeah, because
it's a different product. This is like we have
conversations and banter, but wehave a 5 minute time limit on
how much fun we can have in 5 minutes.
That's kind of the, the ethos oflike our show in the chemistry
there. Yeah, this you're, you're having
real conversations. You can go in any direction that

(07:36):
you want and there's no ad breaks to throw too.
And if there's something that you that you love that was so
funny or something, you just go back and listen to it.
Absolutely. That thing with radio, yeah,
where you do a break on air and you'd go, Oh my God, that was
that. I've had times where I've gone,
I think that's the best thing I've ever done.
Like that was that was fun and what a highlight.
And then walk out into the office and say to someone in

(07:56):
there and go, Oh my God, did youhear Boa?
And they're like, what? And they're like, oh, no, I had
to drop such and such at school and that sort of thing.
Totally. And then they'll never hear it.
Yeah. I know.
Which? Is you.
Know. And if someone just wasn't
learning, yeah, someone's not making it.
Fun that makes it even more exciting for the listeners that
do hear it right. But when they're, when they do
hear that amazing that ignition content where where you're in

(08:17):
the car and you not getting out of the car, 'cause I haven't
finished talking about that. That's like a radio presenters
dream. Ohh, 100% it's never happened.
Ohh. Keep working at it mate, Maz
will show you the way. So that's the thing you love is
when. Drives them out of their car.
Yeah, that's right. Turn.
On Patty and the road. Ohh, I've been listening and

(08:40):
patties have been telling a story and I've actually just
stopped and got out of the car and I haven't even arrived at my
destination. Yeah, I'll just start walking
off the other. I'm just like, I'll just walk.
Well, you need the exercise. That's what I'm doing it for.
How how have? You been enjoying just?
Fat shame me. Oh, sorry about.
Daily. What about that?

(09:02):
Reps What about are you enjoyingthe podcast side of it?
I am loving the podcast side. Yeah, I come from a, I don't
know, there. It's lonely.
Yeah, it can be a bit lonely. You know, I did have a bit of a
flat spot yesterday where I just, I've been so busy.
I work all day every day, editing videos, posting things,
scheduling, learning about the algorithm and all those things.

(09:24):
And the reason I put all those videos and things up is to let
people know about the podcast and hopefully they'll they'll
ever listen to that. But I can spend 12 hours in that
studio at home by myself. Yeah, Serves at work, kids are
doing their thing and stuff. And then I come out and it's
dark and I haven't seen anybody all day.
And it's kind of like radio sometimes in if you do a show by

(09:45):
yourself, especially when you can't see people laughing along
or anything, you don't know if they are.
So luckily I do. I can see growth daily on
everything. I can see all the analytics and
stuff and I know where I want toget it to.
It's not there yet. You know what you said about
that being lonely? Bob Peters, the late, great Bob

(10:05):
Peters who used to work with 2GO.
He was working with Triple MI, think Coast Rock as well.
Yeah. He said he was doing, had this
beautiful voice that could melt steel.
And he was doing the voice oversof Channel 9 and Channel 7,
sorry, Channel 9, Channel 10 in Sydney.
And he said he'd just go into the voice over booth, do all the
the reads, then go. And he said he would love coming

(10:26):
back into the radio station because he was talking with
people, mixing with people getting.
And. And you're doing the same thing,
you know, 12 hours at home, Yeah.
With no friends when are. Hey, I didn't say no.
Friends said they're not there at the time.
I can name them. There's only two or three.
Just Paddy. Yeah, but but you know, I love

(10:55):
what I when I get together, people, when they come and jump
in the van and stuff and I don'tknow where it's gonna go.
And God have had all so many different guests.
I've had deep and heavy mental health chats and then I've just
had utter nonsense with Julie every time.
But then I have a deep and deep and heavy stuff with her as
well. She's so lovely, she's been
honest. She's one of the so many times
and greatest. She's awesome.

(11:16):
Everything's achieved. The amount of books that she's
written. Oh, the TV show she's done.
Yeah. You know, raising a family.
Yeah. And just still such a lovely,
lovely person. Very down to yeah.
And you can, yeah. Text her, reach out.
She always, like we did, say that she's a.
Bloody text. No, she blocks his.
No, she didn't. 'Cause I said we've got the
sausage fest on. Yeah, we'll get some sausage

(11:37):
recipes. Dodgy text.
Yeah, yeah. Dude.
Oh yeah. Hey, Julie.
We've got a sausage fest on love.
Do you wanna come down and cook some sausages?
No. No, that's a text version of
sending a Dick pic. Hey, Sausage Fest, You know when
you when you're typing somethingand then you mean to just go to
the next line, but you hit enterand it sends Yeah.

(11:58):
And you're just like, hey, sausage fest on next week.
Enter. No, don't.
I've got more to write. Actually, I've got a story about
that Dan Taylor, who used to work with us at CFM.
Yeah. And then he went across The Star
and what I'd do, I'd text him when he was on air over at * and
I'd say try and fit in elephant into your next break.
Oh. Hilarious, Yeah, and.
Then and then he was playing. The nips are getting bigger I

(12:23):
think from the mentals and I said text can get in.
My Dick is getting bigger. And anyway, I didn't send it to
Dan Taylor. I sent it to a filmmaker on the
Central Coast and I went, oh shit, I've sent him.
The Dick is getting bigger, I have to say.

(12:45):
I won't say his name. Sorry and.
I said, Jason, I'm so sorry. That was supposed to be meant
for a maid of mine who's on air at the moment at Star.
Oh. That's a yeah.
It's a big explain. You've gotta yeah, yeah.
And he never responded. Oh no.
Oh, you know, you just go holy geez, you started this.
No, I didn't. You did.
You started that. You were the one hiding in the

(13:05):
bushes, I see. God I miss this.
Do you guys mind if I come down at 9:00 each morning and just
sit outside the studio? We've done it for the last four
weeks, so you can continue it next week.
Ohh, running to rabbit at the Chinese shop.
Remember the the Chinese? No, no, the Thai.

(13:26):
Thai place. That's right.
Oh, hilarious. That was funny.
What? Happened.
No, we're just, we're at the Thai place I'd ordered for a
pickup or something. I walk in there and then and
Paddy's there and we're on like opposing brekkie shows and we're
just both there at the counter going.
Like both having pad Thai? Orders for Paddy and Rabbit,
that's. Gonna read to it.

(13:47):
Sounds like a. Rabbit sounds like a joke.
But then also one asks for the rabbit.
Someone had just ordered the rabbit.
And then I walk in and they go, Oh no, no, no, that's not what.
I And then there was the other time I saw you, the gym and
Rabbit had a hat on. Of course anyone didn't know

(14:09):
your gay mate on that guy mate and Rabbit takes off his hat on
there. Oh rabbit, I just take my hat
off like I'm in disguise. I also had a moustache and
glasses and a trench coat and then weird then.
He pulled his pants down. Or it.
I recognise you. Oh, that.
Rabbit No. That is a lie.

(14:29):
That is a lie. Do you know I was just saying to
to your hubby Glenn out here before we had a great old chat.
What was he? Lovely.
Was he on the? Podcast too.
No. Oh, no.
You know what? He can be Oh.
Yeah, he would love that. He's great.
He's great. We never met him before and
that's why I married him. And we were having a yeah, great
old chat out there and I can't remember why I brought him up.

(14:54):
You've got a crush on my husband.
I think it's possibly just to reiterate that I have friends.
One that you just met, Yeah. And he's.
And he's not aware of it. I have.
I have no way to contact him, isn't.
That awful when you go to say something and you forget.
You know what I'm gonna say? What I'm gonna say.
It's awful when you're live on air, on radio, yeah.
He just not. In here there's an.

(15:16):
Edit button you. Just laugh about it.
I the greatest thing with this is when, listen, it's never
really happened, but when you have a chat and then like, I
don't have to go back and do thebrutal edit like you would in
radio. You know, there's bits where you
chop out, chop this bit, chop this bit.
We got to get it down to 3 minutes or something.
Yeah, yeah. Chop, chop, chop, chop, chop

(15:37):
with this one here. And I do in my mind through it
all. And you do this when you're
recording an interview with someone.
You're hearing the edits. That it'll go.
That bit will go and then if youget on to the edit pretty
quickly after it, then you remember those bits and you can
chop it quickly. I don't think I'll chop anything
out of this. All the Paddy stuff, I'm waiting

(15:59):
for it. I'll get AI to do it.
I'll just you'll. Miss me, you'll miss me.
How soon? But even the getting UPS,
getting the microphone, draggingit out and all that sort of
stuff in radio, you chop all of that out.
Yeah. And even then, maybe just put in
a QikLink of Petty then came along and and joined us and then
bang, you're on mic and all thatsort of no, I don't need to do

(16:21):
that. It's inviting everyone in to be
part of it. And you can picture what's going
on A. Beautiful day too, Rebs.
Such a beautiful day, yeah. It's a lovely day to be parked
in this car park. I just recorded a thing as I was
pulling in the driveway because I, I said for eight years, I
Monday to Friday, drove past. I drive past this every single
morning, did a little glance down into the car park, see what
cars are there, try to figure out whose cars who, and I've all

(16:44):
I've never pulled into the driveway and I've always wanted
to. Oh.
Wow, and the. Funny thing is, I've always in
the back of my mind and who know, Who knows, The universe
works in crazy ways and maybe they're gonna get rid of one of
you 2. But I've always felt I'll end up
working at Triple M one day, really.
And I don't know if that'll happen now.
And maybe this is it. Maybe this is the version I pull

(17:06):
in with a caravan into the car park.
It's as close as I get to the front doors and I record a
podcast in the car park. Yeah, but you haven't.
Said the Triple M whisper yet? Triple M Oh, it's very good.
Solid whisper I've practiced. That's part of the.
Audition when your audition for Triple M is doing this now.
It's all there is and you've got.
The black shirt, T-shirt and thejeans, Yeah.

(17:27):
You've got the color. I live in Yeah, yeah, I I went
with some blue jeans just to break it up a bit.
Yeah, 'cause you've got your. Black boots.
Yeah, yeah. Yesterday I was in full black.
Oh yeah. Oh.
Yeah, who are you mourning? No, it's just just ahead of
coming here. Did you?
Have a ninja assignment off beforehand?
What? About he's just.
Up in the corner of thinking. About that, about all black.

(17:48):
I was doing the crab races when I was in Darwin.
God, I think we're. Gonna talk about the All Blacks
for a second. I got very excited.
No, no. And anyway, because I'd give out
tickets and I'd pull the number out and the people would come up
and I'd say, what number between1:00 and 7:00?
And they choose. And this lady came up and said,
oh, you're all dressed in black.I said, how's the funeral?
And anyway, so I get to work thenext day, about lunchtime, my

(18:11):
boss rings me and said, Patty, yeah, you know that Lady you
said to? How's the funeral?
She's really offended. I said why?
She said. He said, oh, that's where she
was at a funeral and I'm there. How did I bloody know?
Yeah, that. She was at a funeral, just in
black. So you've gotta be, oh, very,
very careful. You've gotta be.

(18:31):
Oh yeah. You no one else would do that.
You know what I so the. Message for yourself to How's
that? So I've done a lot of dodgy
stuff but. That's the story.
Got the ankle bracelet on. I'm I actually can't leave the
van. That's why I have to take it
places. I found a loophole, but like you

(18:53):
can't leave your workplace. I've got this new thing where
from each episode I can get a transcription of the episode in
a second through AI. Yeah, cool.
And something I thought of just the other day, I haven't done it
yet, but maybe I'll do it with this one, is that I could use a
keyword that like what you're, when you're texting Dan about,

(19:18):
you know, give this into, into your regular.
Yeah, I could use a keyword thatI could put into the podcast
that would tell me to find that bit, to edit out the bit just
before it. So I could be like watermelon.
Now when I go into the edit, youjust it'll find that and I'll
know. And it's like a note to myself
that that's clever. But it's gotta be something
where I'm not letting the guestsknow that.

(19:39):
Oh, that's my code word I use for.
I'm gonna edit the bit you just said.
Yeah, right. Yeah, but it can't be a common
enough. Word yeah that it's.
Going to be used but it's gotta be stand out enough.
Oh, that's really tricky. Yeah, 'cause it can't be and.
Hemoglobin would be a good one, sure.
But again. I don't know.
How would you just weave that into a sentence?

(20:00):
Yeah. Hi there.
You know you had your hemoglobinlevels checked?
No, don't worry about it. I was just trying to work it in
and see how natural it would go.Hemoglobin's too many syllables
too many. It's got to be some.
Pineapple. I do think of no gonna attract
the wrong people into my van. You know, that's the thing that

(20:21):
caravan parks. What So if you put a pineapple?
And on cruising, too. Yeah, upside down.
And if I think if it's upside down, it's a swingers thing.
Yeah, that's. True on cruises, apparently,
yeah. And so, yeah.
Apparently, well, this is the way I did it, he says.
No, I used a banana. That's the thing when you're

(20:42):
shopping, depending on what you have in your bath, another
thing. Yeah, another thing that is.
Couple of melons slow. Down pineapple.
On your door or. Caravan park.
Says yeah, this caravan's gonna be rocking, you should come a
knocking. OK, that's that's what it says.
What's the? Pineapple wallpaper.
Yeah. I just upside.
Down. It was a mistake.

(21:03):
It was a mistake. Sometimes it's a mistake,
sometimes it's hey, wouldn't that be funny to go around
caravan parks with just like stickers of fighter parks and
just putting them on upside downon people?
And then Nana walks out. Now now why can?

(21:24):
I say I don't wanna be rude. Yeah, I've gotta go an
appointment. I've got an appointment at
10:30. Yeah, yeah.
And I know here I am. I'm interrupted this
award-winning podcast. Shows fine, I paused it when you
hopped in. I am never talking to you in a
Thai restaurant or a gym ever again, right?
Or a. Caravan.
What about a caravan? Oh, now you've got me.

(21:49):
Alright, get. Out.
I was talking to Maz anyway, sorry.
I'm really sorry for. Are you kidding?
Yeah, I'm really sorry. OK.
By the way, do it again. Don't.
You 2 talk about me when I'm gone, OK?
Otherwise, definitely why? You're gonna edit me out, aren't
you? Yeah.
We wouldn't talk about you because it wouldn't make sense
'cause we are. Who's this Paddy Those Angel?
Bye bye, have a good weekend so.Good.

(22:09):
I don't get a kiss. Yeah.
Good to go, good to see. You mate, great to see you as
well. I'll you'll be in here soon.
I mean, well you, I mean you just well, yeah, back because
you are in, you were in that canI haven't been edited.
And a malted milk. Mate cheese, we're we're all
out. We only sell upside down
pineapple. And I've already stuck one on

(22:31):
your car. Oh.
My God, that's what I have to deal with every morning.
Yeah, it's high energy. Yeah, Yeah.
It's a lot, and that's great. It is good.
Does he does he no fall apart later in the day?
So I found that. I'm not around then.
I find that oh God, Triple M carpark that's what you get.

(22:55):
I'm surprised that there wasn't a burnout just then.
Smoke it up mate. In his Fiesta.
Alright, that'll do us for this quick fix Remember, if you ever
wanna hear the full conversationit comes from just match the
number in the title of this quick fix to the full episode
number and don't forget if you turn on the notifications and
