Making Protections Permanent

Kaleigh Kozak, the namesake behind Kaleigh’s Law, joins Kyle to share her inspiring journey to fight for permanent protection for victims in her home state of Arizona. When Kaleigh came face to face with her abuser, who was about to be released, she knew she had to fight for not only her safety, but for the safety of all victims.  Her courage led to her and political leadership in her community to create Kaleigh’s Law, giving victims of dangerous and violent felonies the option to obtain a natural life injunction, a permanent restraining order against their assailant.  This law has expanded protections beyond Arizona into additional states, and the work to truly protect victims continues.  Kaleigh’s story is remarkable, an inspiration to anyone who wants to make a profound impact through our political and judicial systems in an effort to make our communities, and our country, safer.
