Have you ever wondered why after preaching for 30 or 40 minutes on a Sunday you are wiped that afternoon (when you could easily speak for an hour at the Rotary Club and not think twice)? Preaching is not the conveying of information but a call to transformation and a huge part of that call is your experience.
The greatest gift you bring to the preaching moment is your entire self. And if you're bringing your entire self that means you will encounter seasons when you must preach through pain, suffering, and discouragement. Pastors are people, too. And more importantly, pastors can be hurt by others.
So how do you handle the seasons of ministry when all is not well? When the walls are closing in? When you are called to lead in the middle of personal suffering?
That's what we're talking about today in the Preaching Through Podcast. This is episode 7, Preaching Through Pain.
