William (Bill) T. Anderson retired from the Department of Defense in 2005 after over 40 years of civilian and military service and relocated from Europe to Chancellor West. He attended Hampden-Sydney College and The American University. He received his J.D. from Washington and LeeUniversity Law School, a M.A. in national security studies from Georgetown University, and is a graduate of the National War College. A disabled veteran and Colonel (Ret.), he served on the adjunct faculty, College of Distance Education and Training (Command and Staff College Program), Marine Corps University at Quantico, VA, from 2009 to 2017. He is the author of The Bravest Deeds of Men: A Battlefield Guide for Belleau Wood and numerous articles on the Marine Corps and German units facing the Marines in WW1.
