Speaker 1 (00:06):
hi, friends, it's me sujani.
I know I have not released anepisode in about 10 months.
I think the last time we had anepisode on this podcast was in
may of 2024, and it was not aplanned break, to be honest.

(00:26):
It sort of just happened thatlife got busy and the podcast
production kind of fell on theback burner, and so I do want to
apologize for not kind ofhaving a planned pause, and so
for those of you who kind ofdepend on the weekly content,

(00:49):
I'm really sorry that thishappened, but I feel
re-energized to start thepodcast again and I think that's
okay, right.
I've talked about burnout andtaking intentional breaks
sometimes during our careerjourneys, and it's important to

(01:12):
not keep pushing yourselfthrough things if it just
doesn't feel right in thatseason or moment, and with the
podcast, I think that's what hadhappened.
I think that's what hadhappened.
It started with just gettingbusy with a vacation that we
were planning in May and, as Itried to get other parts or

(01:34):
areas of pH spot kind oforganized with the team, the
podcast was not something that Iwas able to delegate to
somebody else, because itrequires me in front of the mic
and my time, and so, um, that'skind of what happened in May.
And then, after that came back, things got busy again.

(01:55):
The summer happened, um, andthen we did a bit more traveling
again in October, um, and withthe, with the toddler.
I find that sometimes it's alittle bit difficult for me to
plan my time, you know, especially my evenings or
weekends, because we really tryto go with kind of his energy

(02:19):
and his needs and the way hewants to, I guess, organize his
days needs and the way he wantsto, I guess, organize his days,
and again the podcast ends upbeing the kind of thing that
falls on the back burner.
So that's what happened.
Then we got back from travels inOctober and then I found out

(02:39):
that we're having a second baby.
So this time around thepregnancy was a little bit more
difficult for me compared to thefirst time.
I found the first one a littlebit easier.
So that kind of took me out forthree, four months.
I'm feeling a lot better thesedays and, um, as a team in PH

(03:01):
Spot we took a lot of time tofigure out how we wanted to show
up and deliver on some of theevents inside our membership
community, the Public HealthCareer Club.
So that took a lot of my energyin the first few weeks to a
couple months of the new year.

(03:21):
A couple months of the new yearand this past week we have
opened up enrollments into thePublic Health Career Club for
2025.
And so you know, a lot ofplanning went into that and so
those are kind of the reasons asto why the podcast kind of fell

(03:41):
on the back burner, to why thepodcast kind of fell on the back
burner.
But I'm feeling like I couldcome back to it again and I
think what I'm able to commit toat the moment are these solo
episodes where I provide youwith some guidance and advice on
a topic each week.
The interviews with guests area little bit more challenging

(04:08):
for me at the moment because itrequires me to schedule
interviews with individuals at atime that works best for them
and me, and I think, as many ofyou know, I still have a
full-time job.
I think, as many of you know, Istill have a full-time job, and

(04:34):
so for me to find a time in theevenings or weekends to record
with the guest has been a littlebit more challenging since
starting a family.
So I think the best way for meto show up on the podcast is
going to be through these soloepisodes, these solo episodes,
but what I think we can alsostart to do is maybe release
some audio products from ourcommunity events.

(04:54):
So, inside the public healthcareer club, we run workshops
and talks, we have guestspeakers that come in, we have
office hours, mentor hours andum.
There may be, you know, anevent here, here and there that
is super insightful, interesting, that makes sense to release as
an audio, and from time to timewe'll end up doing that as well

(05:18):
.
But I think for the remainder of2025, what you can expect is a
combination of um, you know, maybe like a special event
recording as an audio version,as well as um, the solo episodes
from me and um.
Later on, maybe towards the endof the year, if we feel like we
can bring on guests, um, Ithink that that'll definitely be

(05:39):
another way for us to bringcontent to you, because I really
enjoy talking to differentpublic health professionals,
hearing about their careerjourneys and, especially in the
current environment that we'rein, with all the changes that
we're seeing with public health, with funding, it will be really
interesting conversations justto see how everyone's navigating

(06:01):
the situation.
So I promise you that I willmake an effort to bring those
conversations to you at somepoint this year, but for the
short term it's going to bethese great kind of tidbits on
different career developmentstrategies and things, and I'm
going to be coming on thepodcast every week to deliver

(06:22):
those episodes.
So just want to jump here togive you that quick life update.
Ph Spot update podcast update.
I'm really excited to see wherePH Spot is headed.
We're committing to reallysimplifying how we help public

(06:44):
health professionals build theirlives, public health careers,
and finding different ways tobring kind of cool content, cool
products and different ways tohelp you.
And you know, aside from thepodcast, aside from the blog,
free resources we have on ourwebsite the Public Health Career

(07:07):
Club is where we're spending alot of time with our community
members to help them indifferent ways, right?
So some people work really wellin workshop situations, some
people work well in drop-inoffice hours, some people work
well in kind of like lecturestyle support.
So we're doing a little bit ofeverything inside the Career

(07:28):
Club.
We have a social hour.
So if you're interested to justmix and mingle with our
community members, that'sanother way that people are able
to connect and build theircareers and so really spending a
lot of time understanding theneeds of the community and and
figuring different, figuring outdifferent programs that we can
deliver to them.

(07:48):
So, if that that's of interestto you, we have opened up the
enrollments again.
So we'd love to see you inthere and I really hope we can
connect inside the Public HealthCareer Club.
But if not, we will definitelyconnect over this podcast.
So just want to say thank youfor coming back.
I am committing to deliveringone episode every week and I

(08:11):
really hope you'll be listeningin every week and, you know,
connecting with me on LinkedIn,telling me if you're enjoying
these episodes and giving meideas for other ones as well.
So tune into the first episodeof, I guess, this new series and
I'll see you on future episodes.
