Welcome to The Jonathan and Kelly Show. Jonathan Rush Now this fall the mag
extremist once again and brought us tothe brink, this time to a government
shutdown and going back on the dealthey made months ago, not keeping their
word. Enough is enough is enough? The brinkmanship has to end, Kelly

(00:21):
Nash. I'm not being facetious anyway. The Jonathan and Kelly Show double d
Oh my gosh. Yesterday, inthe midst of going through trying to get

(00:42):
out of this fever that you andI well, I was experiencing, I
think more than you are. Idon't know. I'm feeling pretty hot right
now. Had to sit down andactually watch this, and I'm like,
brother, I got one hundred andtwo point eight fever, and I can
make more sense than you're making.Well, you told me the biggest news
yesterday was that there was no meatthe press. It was no Meet the
Press. If it's Sunday, it'smeet the Press. You know what happened.

(01:03):
We put Kristin Welker on and shemade it one week and now it's
blown. Right, America's longest runningtelevision I think if you miss a week,
you're no longer running. Are you. I don't think you got to
restart the count. I think KristinWelker brought it to an end. Wow.
So you would have thought, okay, with the Ryder Cup being on,
Okay, I'll just watch it onMSNBC on the repeat. There is

(01:23):
no repeat on MSNBC, not evenThey didn't even produce one, didn't even
stream it. The tragedy that almostended America. We almost ended America.
Democracy almost died. When was thatSaturday night? Well? What happened Saturday?
Well, we were able to puttogether for forty five days a budget
deal and not a cr but youknow, democracy almost died. Kristin Welker

(01:47):
already in the bar drinking, celebratingit. Probably what the hell happened there?
All right? So anyway, soI'm going to insist that we restart
it now. This is number one, and you're a big guess. Commitment
was, or you're jokingly commitment toChuck Todd was, is that you would
continue to keep it America's longest runningtelevision show one weekend. You're an oshaw,

(02:10):
Wow, Chuck Todd never thought i'dsay this. I missed you,
Kelly, and now we're not feelingso much. A matter of fact,
I knew Kelly wasn't feeling us,so I didn't even turn on MSNBC this
morning. After watching Joe Biden speakyesterday, I'm like, you know,
the brinkmanship must and Kelly, wellwith you, maggot. Republicans understand something.

(02:30):
You come to the table, butwhat we want when we want it,
and you pay for it in Americancash if need be otherwise, your
Unamerican patriotic, you know, killeddemocracy. That has always been their position.
And you know, we were talkingoff the air here about the rules
that they like to change. Andlast week, just as I was getting

(02:52):
ready to leave on Friday, thenews broke that Diane Feinstein died. And
I was expecting to see your vote, you know, the weekend. But
for whatever reason, they went aheadand let her die. And now the
person that they've replaced her with, according to some reports, Gavin Newsom has
picked a woman named Lafonza Butler, and Lafonsa Butler is not registered in the

(03:17):
state of California. Now, shelived there for many years, but she
apparently moved last year. A littleover a year ago. In September of
twenty twenty two, registered as aDemocrat in Maryland and has been working there
her She's got a daughter with herpartner, and they have registered her I

(03:38):
guess for pre k and everything inMaryland and she works basically as like a
lobbyist of some kind. And howis it possible if you don't live in
the state you can just go likeI could be the I could be a
senator from the great state of Connecticutright now, or you're a friends with
the governor. He'll adjust whatever itneeds to be adjusted, either well that's

(04:00):
the thing, right, or manufacturewhatever paperwork needs to be manas so you
don't. You don't get here withoutlearning how to sidestep exactly. Lafonsa what
Lafonza Butler, wasn't she And NapoleonDynamite, I don't believe so was it
that what's his name's girlfriend? Idon't remember the girl's name. And Napoleon
Dynamite. I'm sorry to let youdown. I think her name was well,

(04:25):
now wasa Lafonda? It was LafondaAnd that reminds me of Sir mix
a lot Jane Fonda. Don't havean anaconda or whatever he said, My
anaconda don't want none unless you gotbud. Okay, all right, now
let's go to the fourteenth Amendment sincewe can quote sir mix a lot.

(04:46):
Yeah, all right, So nowwe'll save the fourteenth Amendment conversation for later.
All right, we do have anopportunity speaking of the crisis that was
averted. Democracy has been saved. But oh, we put it back on
the timetable. Yeah, we'll getanother forty five day, forty four accountant,
We're going to go to the phone. Hold on a seconds, the
Jonathan and Kelly Super Secret Double ProbationaryHotline. Kelly Nash. Welcome on the

(05:09):
phone. US Congressman Ralph Norman. It is so good to have you on
the phone today because we have lotsof questions. Yes, I'm glad to
be with you. Well, goodmorning, Congressman. I mean, it's
been a wild weekend in Washington. We're recording this with you first thing Monday
morning, and everybody's talking about thismotion to possibly get rid of the Speaker

(05:29):
of the House. So where doyou come down on that? That's just
a distraction. Matt's been talking aboutthis. I'm a good friend his Look,
we've got more important things to doin Congress. You know, we
major in the minor so many times, and the major issue we have is
spending. The fact that we're ona forty five day time limit, that's
where we've got to have our focus. I hope he won't do it because

(05:50):
being on replace him with who canget to do in an eighteen there's no
one right now. The things athand are funding this government and then putting
some kind of limits on the board. That's the most serious problem we face
in this country today. That's whatwe'll be discussing hopefully. Well what do
you say did Joe Biden when hesays the magnan Republicans are just trying to

(06:11):
shut down government bring pain on Americans. You got to remember this government business
is down for a year and ahalf. They kept children out of the
schoolrooms for a year and a half. So we've got to come up with
a spending number that's conservative exactly. We've got to appropriation bills done and send
them over to the Senate. Now, if we're going to capitulate to the

(06:32):
fear factor that the government may haveto go on to tipperad recess, we
can continue to spend money like wehave spent it, and so that's what
I'm going to be pressing the conferencephone. But we got to get up
to McCarthy. He's got to fightus. And you can hear a complete
interview with Congress and Norman on ourpodcast look for the Rastat podcast on the

(06:54):
iHeart Radio app. If the resultis stopping the spending for a while,
then that's what has to happen. That's not that complicated to me. It's
like with Congressman Ralph Norman and anotherbizarre scene in Washington over the weekend where
the Democrats were trying to delay avote and I don't even know if the

(07:15):
word allegedly is required here, oneof the Democrat congressmen from New York,
a guy named Jamal Bowman, legitpulled a fire alarm to try to stop
the vote. Now he's saying hedidn't understand that if I pulled the fire
alarm, a fire alarm would gooff. That's one of the weakest excuses
I've ever heard. Are you insupport of treating this guy like an insurrectionist?

(07:44):
Oh? Absolutely. I mean forhim to say that that was I
was in the Cannon building when hedid that. They got a picture of
him doing that. I had ameeting with a family with an autistic child
and we got to go down astairway that was too steep for some seventy
and seventy five year old ladies. And this is a man, Jamal,

(08:05):
who was screak has been screaming inthe hallways after a vote and to pull
a fire alarm and say that hethought it was a doorknob. Anybody that
bleds that I've got some land that'sunder water. I need you to buy
for high rise condos. And it'scrazy, but he needs to be prosecuted.
He really out on the side youdon't do that. He put everybody

(08:28):
at risk in It's just the Democratsno bounds. They would do anything to
attain power. They would do anythingto spend your tax money. And I'm
tired of it. If you listento or let's see you watching the news.
I'm watching Fox News and they gotlive video coverage of our border.
For instance, ten to twelve thousandillegals coming over the border a day.

(08:48):
And I flip over to MSNBC orsitting in and they're talking about Trump's gonna
have to appear in court today inNew York City. I mean It's just
amazing how all they do is coverTrump, Trump, Trump, Trump and
the disservice to the American people.I can't imagine what the retaliation is going
to be like one day from theAmerican people on the news quote unquote news

(09:09):
agencies who are not covering the newsthat is going to affect their pocketbooks.
I don't know what the cost isgoing to be per immigrant, but I
know that our budget can afford thatmany new dependents every day. Well,
I tell you what I mean, the interest alone for your listeners is over
twenty thousand dollars per second. You'vegot every agency from the away Trust funds,

(09:35):
so security medicate bankrupt in a shortmatter of time. There will be
in a matter of short years wherethe interest on the debt will exceed the
military budget of eight in twenty sixbillion dollars every twelve months. I mean,
it's a six issue that if wedon't get control of then we the

(09:58):
outcome is not at all for Americans. And if it takes a pause in
government ending, that's what we haveto do to pay this country. And
I hope McCarthy wished that, andI hope that we can get across the
board, it's not. You know, the American people don't care speaker.
They just want the country on afound physical foundation, which, to be

(10:22):
honest with you, we are notowned right now. Congressman Ralph Norman,
as we sit here on Monday morning, I know, predicting politics, you
do that at your own peril. But you know we have what about a
next month is when this thing hasbeen extended to Now do we have a
resolution to move forward? Do youbelieve or are we going to do another

(10:43):
short term deal? How do yousee this thing playing out over the next
few weeks. What the powers andI would guess they want to do is
just extend this again through December. That's the playbook. Is typically extended another
thirty days through right at Christmas andthen pass some monstrosity of a bill that

(11:03):
is just more spending. That's howit's done in Washington, DC. We
have got to break that. Iwill not be voting for any more extension
for any reason, because we've gotto get it handled. I do think
in a good note we will getthe twelve appropriations out. You will be
going line eye and my line eye. And that's one thing we fought for

(11:24):
in January That's why we withheld ourvotes from the Speaker, is to make
sure that public knows where the money'sgoing and not have some omnibus spinning bill
that you don't know where it's going. Now's the time to handle it,
and I hope and pray that wecan we do that. I'm I and
Alow. A lot of others aregoing to be pushing for that. You
know the game of politics a lotbetter than I. But it seems like

(11:46):
Secretary Transportection Secretary of Buddhajaz gave youa tip as exactly what you just referenced.
Right before Thanksgiving, when a lotof Americans are scheduling their trips to
see family, it's when the nextgovernment shutdown could bring air travel to a
halt. So that creates the crisisthey want. And then you're right.

(12:07):
We learned a long time ago.The Democrats mantra is never let a good
crisis go to waste. If youhave to manufacture one, if we can
push it all the way to theend of the year, like they did
Obamacary, even to go to ChristmasEve and pass it at midnight, that
gives them the opportunity again to keeptheir spending levels, and they always bring
it to a crisis point so theycan blame Republicans. I don't know if

(12:30):
that's too jaded, you tell me, oh, no, you're exactly by
it. I mean they do isit was planned for in mid November when
Thanksgivings coming, and that the excusetell you, and what we need to
do, put a bill on thefloor that under any shutdown that our servicemen,
our military veterans get paid and youknow, the flight the flight attendants

(12:56):
and the TSA get paid. Andthen but but come to it, we
got to have a contry. Atthe end of forty five days. There
should be no more extensions. Thereshould be no more taking shutting down government
or for off the table. It'sgot to be there, and you keep
we keep hearing this, it's notgonna do it. Well, look,

(13:18):
the time is to face it now, and the time is to if we
don't, we're doing a service toevery American in this country. And if
we don't get this border shut down. I mean that, I mean Carolina
holds eighty some thousand people that's happeningcoming into this country and we just can't.
We've got to have that and hopefullywe can do that as well well.

(13:41):
Congressman Norman, we appreciate your timethis morning. Who knows one will
be checking back in with you.It might be an hourly update throughout the
week. I mean, this seemslike it's gonna be a crazy week in
DC. It gonna be very crazy. But we gotta be up to the
sass. We gotta fight, Wegotta learn how to fight. Thank you,
sir, Thank you.
