It's. a Podcasthon.

We are here to give a shout out to our favorite charities and participate in a Podcasthon.

Podcasts collide and come together.

Ready Set Reiki with Tracy Searight welcomes Rose from "Chat Off the Mat" podcast for this special "podcast-a-thon" episode where their shared passions for Reiki, yoga, and energy work create a dynamic conversation about embracing spring's transformative power.

Together they explore the wood element of spring through Traditional Chinese Medicine's wisdom, discussing how this season naturally invites growth, change, and sometimes uncomfortable stretching. As Rose explains, "When there's a lot of wood energy and we're not flexible, we get rigid—and what happens when we're rigid? The connective tissue gets tight." This physical manifestation mirrors our emotional and spiritual states, where resistance to change can manifest as anger or frustration.

The conversation weaves through practical self-care practices particularly suited for this season. From the benefits of a "Reiki tune-up" to the gentle yet powerful practice of Qigong, Tracy and Rose offer accessible ways to work with spring's energy. They share personal stories of transformation, including Rose's experience using energy practices to release habits that no longer served her highest good.

A particularly illuminating segment explores how the practice of gratitude journaling can radically shift your perspective and even manifest specific experiences. Tracy shares her playful experiment asking the universe for someone to call her "smart"—which manifested (albeit sarcastically) the very next day!

Whether you're curious about energy work, seeking seasonal self-care practices, or simply looking for inspiration to embrace change, this episode offers wisdom, practical suggestions, and the warm companionship of two practitioners who embody the principles they teach. Discover why spring provides the perfect conditions for planting new seeds of intention in your life.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Welcome everyone.
This is Ready Set Reiki, apodcast about Reiki, the
universal energy life force, from the curious beginner to the
seasoned master teacher, welcoming all systems, all
images, all levels.
Reiki is a journey and not adestination, and on this Ready
Set Reiki journey, I refer tomyself as a guide rather than
host.
So I am your guide, tracy CWright, and today worlds collide

(00:40):
.
We are having a podcast-a-thon,so I am being joined with my
buddy, my friend in yoga andReiki, rose, is here, chat off
the mat, is in the house, so I'mgoing to pass it over to her so
that she can introduce herself,so all of you wonderful
listeners can hear her wonderfulwords of wisdom.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Thank you, tracy.
I love being here with you.
This is one of my favoritethings, and our energy is always
together, even when we're apart.
So thank you for inviting me onhere to collaborate.
As Tracy mentioned, I'm thehost of a podcast called Chat
Off the Mat, and it means theyoga mat, not the wrestling mat,
like some people have thought, but that's what it is, and Tracy

(01:23):
has been a guest and we're just.
We just like to collaborateonce in a while, so I'm really
excited to be here.
Thank you for inviting me.
Oh, where'd she go there?
You are All right.
So what do we want to talkabout today?
Spring?

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Well, spring has actually sprung how wonderful
here.
But you know what Springdoesn't really feel so springy
here in El Paso.
We had a big storm herewindstorm, gusts of wind, it was
crazy.
So certainly miss spring here.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Well, that's funny.
You should mention wind, because wind is the element of
spring.
So there's a lot of we couldtalk about spring in so many
levels.
As far as energy, we'll talkabout energy, but in the spring,
we have the wood element.
We have the wood elementrepresents growth and changes.

(02:17):
It also there's the element ofwind that is involved.
But I want to talk a little bitabout traditional Chinese
medicine and how we need toembrace changes.
Even if you're in El Paso andit's, you know, 100 degrees and
it may not feel like spring, that energy is still there.
So right now, with my students,I'm teaching them how to

(02:40):
embrace this energy, plant newseeds and grow, but not too much
.
I don't know about you, tracy,but sometimes I feel like I can
do everything, right.
So I'm piling on the projectsand I'm like doing everything
and talking to everybody, butthen that's like a lot of wood.
Then you can't see through thewood, right?
So we need to cut back.

(03:00):
So we need to really be mindfulabout some of the stuff that we
bring onto our plate, right?
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Well, again, we're in sync.
As you said earlier, I just hadtaught a class this morning
about the wood element.
I talked about growth.
I talked about feeling stuckand moving forward and being
adaptable and to lean thestudents.
I asked them, invited them tolean into that tension, that

(03:29):
tightness and to be an observerwith that.
So exactly what you're saying.
So this shows we're on the same.
We're on the same.
I love that.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I'm getting goosebumps right, I'm getting
goosebumps.
So you're saying lean into thetightness.
So guess what?
The wood element, when there'sa lot of wood, so we have.
So we're doing a lot of thingsand we're not flexible, right,
we're rigid.
So what happens when we'rerigid?
What happens to the body?
We get tight the connectivetissue, so the wood element

(03:57):
really corresponds to theconnective tissue, and we get
really stiff.
So we get up in the morning andwe feel that tightness.
But that's also part of thatspring energy where we're
growing and we're moving andwe're trying to work through
that tension as well.
So, yeah, so it's funny.
You say that that's verysynchronistic.

(04:18):
I love that.
But there's also we also workwith the liver and the
gallbladder.
Those are the pairs.
So think about like a partner, partner organs.
Yeah.
Right, so we need to really takecare of those organs and we can
do that by really being mindfulof what we eat and detoxing and
nourishing our body throughfoods, right, right, and yeah,

(04:45):
and also eating what'sappropriate now, what's growing
now and I don't know about you,but I love vegetables, and when
spring onions are springing and,uh, the greens start to grow, I
just love that and I embracethat and I feel so much better
when I eat with the season, right, yeah so liver, liver and

(05:05):
gallbladder.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
You know you think of that anger, right yeah, and
your assertion, so things whenyou're feeling angry, is a great
way to bring in the traditionalChinese medicine.
You know these were techniquesI was doing way before I even
learned about it, even on mychildren.
You know, massaging the feet, you know, adding that
compression, that tension to you, so yeah, so beautiful

(05:26):
techniques to help you when youhave that anger and you're like,
yes, yeah because what me?

Speaker 3 (05:33):
what that means is there's a lot of stagnant chi in
those organs Right, and sowe're not processing that anger,
we're not seeing clearly either, and that liver corresponds to
the eyes.
So really be mindful of whatyou're eating, because the liver
needs to process that.

(05:53):
If it can't process it, it'ssluggish and we just feel like,
oh, like I don't know, I feellike a big blob.
So yeah.
And then, like you said, you getthat anger and that frustration
.
That also corresponds to likewhat you're doing with, like
with people, Like if, if, ifyou're not taking care of
yourself and you're worriedabout everyone else, after a

(06:14):
while you're going to feel alittle resentful.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
So taking care of ourselves is really important
and you know I'm I'm all forhaving a Reiki tune up.
I think this is a great time.
What do you think?
Talking about Reiki, it's agreat time to have a tune-up.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Have a tune-up and before we came on, I was sharing
some of the things in my life.
You know we are people ofservice, you know we're helping
others through yoga, energy workand there comes times in our
lives where one thing afteranother starts to happen.
There comes times in our liveswhere one thing after another
starts to happen and we have totake our own advice.
We have to go get that tune upand kind of fill our cup up as

(06:50):
well.
And what a beautiful time as areminder in spring, right as we
come out of winter hibernation, right, new growth.
This is a time to restart andthat was what I was saying this
morning in my class, that one ofthe best advices you know.
Prior to this I was anelementary school teacher,
school teacher at heart, and itwas always the best advice stop

(07:11):
and redirect.
That doesn't mean you'restopping forever or quitting,
but you're stopping andrealizing okay, this isn't
working, how can I shift andredirect?
So it's okay, as the days andweeks go by, that if it's not
working, that you need to shift, maybe you need a little bit of
an energetic tune up, maybe youneed to try to meditate or
journal or do something to fillup that energetic reservoir

(07:35):
within you.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah, no, I think that's great and you know, as
you're talking, I'm thinkingabout myself and sometimes
coming out of winter.
You know, we're used to likejust hanging out and and and
being more inside, and sometimesI feel like I'm in this bubble,
being inside my house and nowthat it's getting really nice
out, it's really nice to gooutside and just connect with

(07:57):
the, the wood element, and seethe buds on the trees, because
the next thing you know, they'rein full bloom.
You miss the process.
Yeah, right, you know, it'sjust like our process.
When we're going throughsomething where we're planting
seeds of new growth, it's notalways about the end game.
Yeah, right, it's like.
So you're talking to me beforeabout, um, you know, finding a

(08:21):
new place and finding a newspace and, yeah, you know you
want that space, but it's alsonice to check this place out and
see if it works.
And, you know, explore allthese opportunities and enjoy
every moment, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Well, it's as you look at nature.
You know, I'm here in El Paso,so there's more shrubs than
trees, but in WesternPennsylvania, Shrubs is wood.
In Pennsylvania.
I lived in Western Pennsylvaniaand you know you have such a
beautiful variety of trees and,as you observe, as winter comes

(08:57):
the leaves fall and it is a baretree.
The sky is gray.
You know you see all the snowon the grass.
The sky is gray, you know, yousee all the snow on the grass.
And as the season change, thereare these trees bloom back,
magnificent green colors, thatgreen grass that had what like
feet of snow on it right now isnow growing back beautiful.

(09:19):
It's this reminder that even ifyou have to let go of something,
even if you have to just shedyourself, that there is new
growth to be found.
And that's that hope in that.
And so I had a week of kind ofreally having to let go of
things, because I had a certainidea of how things were supposed

(09:40):
to look for me, but theuniverse was like no, ma'am, we
have other plans for you.
But it's with the confidence,by letting it go, that God,
universe, has something greaterfor me in that.
So, even though it was hard tokind of let a space go or let
this idea go, that I have tohave that confidence and faith

(10:01):
that everything's going to beokay and I will be directed into
the right space and the rightplace for myself.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yes.
So I hope everyone rewinds thisand listens to Tracy again,
because that's really superimportant, because sometimes
attachment to things really aredon't serve us in our highest
interest.
And I get it.
You know you've, you want acertain outcome to happen or you
like a certain thing and youdon't want that to change.

(10:30):
But change happens and that'swhat the whole thing about the
seasons and we need to embracethe change.
I mean, think about ourselves.
Like Tracy, you and I, we'renot the same people we were a
month ago or six months ago.
So you know, this time of year,if I'm encouraging my students,
you know a lot of them areretired or they're just, you
know, doing their thing.

(10:50):
It's never too late to startsomething new and to reinvent
yourself.
I'm all about reinvention.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
If there's something, a project, if there's like a
new profession, something thatsparks that fire, just that, you
know, think about a match andyou're lighting it, a wood, a
piece of wood, and then itstarts to, you know, light up
and ignite.
You know, do that, embrace that.

(11:18):
It's never too late to do thatand I think this is a great time
of year to embrace that energy.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Right, and don't worry about the age.
I was scrolling on Instagramand there is a teacher I believe
she's in her 60s and she wasbringing the question up of
about, you know, older teachers, like it was some kind of rare
thing and I was thinking aboutit.
It's like, well, my teachersare either in my age range or
even a little older, so I didn'teven think of that as a problem

(11:47):
in the industry that someonemay choose someone in their 20s
versus a teacher in their 50s,right.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Interesting, yeah, she brought that up.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
But I thought and she and she had said, you know, I'm
65 and I'm out here teachingand looking at her I would never
have even connected the agewith Right.
I resonated with her energy.
You know how she spoke, youknow what she offered and that
wasn't even a factor.
But then I guess, when youthink about it, someone may have
that in their mind of thinkingwell, I can't do yoga because

(12:19):
I'm this age.
When I took my yoga trainingthere was someone who was 70 in
our class and it wasn't even athought that she shouldn't be
there.
I mean, she was getting intoposes that some of the 20 year
olds couldn't get in.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
So I think that's, that's awesome.
I mean, you know, life is notover because you're at a certain
age.
There's always.
There's always something outthere.
Just find what really ignitesyour yourites, your passion, and
to do that, yeah.
So I love that, I love thatconversation.
I mean, listen, I was 55 when Ibecame a yoga teacher.

(12:56):
Sure, and I practiced for along time and you know, that was
several years ago and I lovereinventing myself and doing new
things, and that's what life isall about.
I love that myself and doingnew things, and that's what life
is all about.
That's, I love that.
Let's talk a little bit abouthow we can take care of
ourselves during this time ofyear.
I think we talked about alittle bit of a Reiki tune up.

(13:17):
I want to introduce, or talkabout another topic I'm
passionate about, or a movementpractice besides yoga, and
that's Chagong.
So a lot of people will say Idon't know what that is.
Well, you know it's.
People see people practicingTai Chi, people know Tai Chi,
but actually Qigong is theumbrella from which Tai Chi and

(13:39):
martial arts comes from.
So it's gentle, fluid movementand it really works a lot with
the elements, like the wood orthe organs, like the wood and
the gallbladder.
So inviting a gentle practicelike that is wonderful.
If your body or your mindthinks you can't practice
something like yoga, qigong is agreat way to cultivate energy

(14:02):
and to work through unblockingsome of that energy in the body.
So I wanted to talk about thatbecause I know how much it's
helped me.
I want to share a quick story,if that's okay.
During one of my trainings mylast training I wanted I was
working with the elements.
It was an elemental Qigongtraining.

(14:24):
So the elements are water, wood, which we're talking about, and
then fire and then metal andearth.
So one of the things I wantedto do was stop drinking alcohol.
So during my practice I set areally strong intention that
that's what I wanted to do andwith the yoga and the movement I

(14:44):
would unblock energy within mybody and then create that
intention and use that andeventually, along with Reiki,
actually as self-Reiki.
I was able to eliminate thatfrom my life Because I felt it
no longer served a purpose forme working with energy, so that
was pretty powerful, I think, for me.

(15:05):
So that was letting go ofsomething no longer serving me,
so I used Qigong for me.
So that was letting go ofsomething no longer serving me,
so I use Qigong for that.
So I just wanted to share that, because if anybody's curious
about Qigong, look it up.
It's becoming more popular herein the United States.
So I'm on a mission to justlike I've been on a mission to
make more people aware of Reiki, just like you, tracy, right?
I think, Qigong is also a greatpractice.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Very good and if people want to go a little
deeper into finding your story, you have written an article
correct.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
I have yes, yes, about this particular topic and
I also wrote an article, actually contributed a story to
a book Life Changing Qigongwhere I share a little bit more
about my story in depth.
So that was that was also nicefor me to to share.
I love that.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Beautiful.
But the end of the day is, youdid the work, you're trying
things, you know you're findingthat just right.
Whether it is Reiki, whether itis yoga, meditation, it can go
on and on and it may not be yourthing, but at least you're
trying it and exploring thoseoptions.
And again with be your thing, but at least you're trying it
and exploring those options.
And again, with that woodelement, you're leaning into the

(16:13):
tightness, you're leaning intothe tension, and that could be
even sitting in meditation.
I mean, it took me I wastalking about pranayama that in
the beginning I had achallenging time with the breath
, controlling the breath.
I was that fire energy thatkept on going, going, going and
for me to sit.
And, okay, now breathe, countto four, hold it.

(16:35):
You know, you wouldn't thinkthat breathing Hello, you've
been doing this since day one, right?

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Yep, yeah, and I know you're that fire energy because
you're an Aries, so you havedouble fire energy.
Yeah, so you know there's anelement right there, You've got
that fire element right, so youhave that always burning and we
talk about that.
But if it's too much, thingscan get out of hand.
Oh yeah, and if you have nofire at all within your body,

(17:12):
your energy is not moving.
You know, things are not.
Uh, the blood's not going tothe liver or the heart's not
pumping as efficiently.
So you know we need to createthat perfect container of
whatever practices for you right, so that you can grow and allow
and experience life in thisharmonious balance right, right.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
And what I told my students this morning.
Tony bennett uh, the singer hadsaid if you live long enough,
life will teach you how to live.
So this is just something thatyou can unfold.
You learn something new aboutyourself, like, okay, this is
interesting.
Yeah, this is just somethingthat you can unfold.
You learn something new aboutyourself, like, okay, this is
interesting.
Yeah, this is new.
This is a new pain.
Right, this is a new sensation.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Yeah, you know it's great you mentioned that because
I know you do this too but whenyou teach yoga you're not.
Or when I teach yoga, I alwaystell people tune in, tune in to
what is going on inside of you.
Where are those sensations, especially when we're doing like
longer health poses?

(18:15):
You know what are you feelingand it's not just the physical,
sometimes it's like what's theemotion.
You know, people, that I, if Ikeep a person in dragon pose a
long time, they start gettingangry at me.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Yeah, yeah, I've had that too.
And then they'll say like Idon't like that one.
And I said that's the one yourbody needs the most.
Yeah, like shoelace, they hatethat.
You're like oh my goodness, andthat's explore that.
Why are you feeling that way inthat pose?

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Yeah, yeah, it's.
You got to dive deep sometimesto get through that sludge and
yeah, and and come up, you know, through like like the lotus
flower.
You know it's got to workthrough that before you can
become more enlightened.
Yeah, but that's a, that's apractice, though People are so
distracted, even even duringclass.

(19:10):
You have your iPhone or youriWatch, I should say, handy and
there's always someone who feelsthey need to be distracted.
But I don't know, they're notexperiencing the practice, and
that goes with any practice.
That goes with whether or notyou're sitting on a laying on a
table doing Reiki or self-Reiki.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Yeah, yeah.
What are your thoughts onmirrors in the classroom?
So I tend to turn my studentsaway from the mirrors.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Interesting.
So I teach in both the studiosthat I teach in person.
There's mirrors in frontEverywhere.
Yeah, I teach in person, there's mirrors in front.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
So actually I have never thought about turning them
away from a mirror.
I turn them away.
I've had that where studentsare like I have mirrors in the
classrooms.
I'm in and they're like why doyou turn us away?
I says because I don't want youto look.
And one of my students says butI like watching myself when I
do yoga.
I says then you're missing.
You're missing the point.
I may turn them.
I turn them away because I wantthem to go inward, and so yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Okay, that's really, that's a I, so I may have to try
that and see what happens.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
I just want them to cause they'll pick up, and I've
done it too.
I'm like, oh my goodness.
And I'll say look at my hair,oh my goodness, look at my
clothes.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
So I'm saying I start judging.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
wow, this mirror makes me look really good today,
and then, you know like can Itake this one home?

Speaker 3 (20:37):
Yeah, right.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Or they look at other people.
That's, that's what it was.
They observe it and that's whenI tell them listen, you know.
You know we're all women hereor we're all this here, but it's
going to feel different in yourbody versus mine, and so go
inward instead of kind offocusing too much on me or the
mirror.
Yeah, so I have them turn.
I have their backs to it.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Yeah.
So I think I'm going to trythat, but I may not do a whole
class.
I'm going to just experiment, yeah, and have people see, see
what they're feeling, and and Ithink that's a great analogy for
life too, like you know, justwhen you're doing something the
same way all the time, try doingit a little differently.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Yeah, and what a great time in spring to start
that, say you know what, let'sjust do a class, let's just
explore.
We're going to go in, we'regoing to just close our eyes and
not watch the mirror, and yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Yeah, and, and, and, even with the habits or your day
to day.
Look at your day to day stuff.
What are you doing, all right?
So I have a habit I get up inthe morning, I make my coffee, I
sit down, look at my horoscopeOkay, same thing all the time.
And it's like my little comfortthing, like my little, you know

(21:52):
, my little blanket around meand I'm like I gotta change it
up.
Yeah, you know so, all right.
So let's challenge everyone outthere to take a look at their
day-to-day and let's make somechanges.
Let's let go of something thatyou're like maybe it's a time
waster, all right, and invitesomething new maybe a walk, or
maybe you're reading in themorning yeah.
Or even something at nightthat's different, you know,
before going to bed.
Yeah, I started doing agratitude.
I used to do this all the timeThink about things I'm grateful

(22:15):
for, write them down.
Now I just kind of lay thereand I say it out loud, yes, or
whisper it, and I just feelbetter when I go to sleep at
night.
And you know you set the toneand set the energy.
It's all about energy.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Right, right, I mean, don't underestimate the
journaling.
I mean I've met students thatsay, or people that says, you
know I don't like journaling.
But even if you could just draw, can you draw something?
Can you just write a few wordsdown?
Can you write thank you on apage?

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Right.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Yeah, if you make that a consistent practice, it
really is life changing.
I had taken a class and theteacher challenged us to keep
every day, you know, thisgratitude journal and there were
some days that were so chaoticand I'm like, oh, my goodness, I
didn't write in it, I just putthank you.
But my goodness, things startedto shift and change in my life
and then, almost as I wrotethings down, started coming true

(23:03):
, like with certain things, andthen I kind of played with the
universe and got very specificabout something like today I
will see a polka dot bear andthere would be a polka dot bear.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Oh my gosh, I love that.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
So one of my favorite ones was I.
I put down for someone to say Iwas smart.
Okay, someone, just, I was just, I was being playful and I went
into work and I did something.
It was under the tone ofsarcasm but it still was said
well, aren't we smart, missTracy?
I was like I will take it.

(23:41):
I didn't say what tone, right.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Wow, that's brilliant .

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Brilliant.
Let's have a little bit of funwith it.
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Yeah, no, I totally agree with you.
Journaling is super importantbecause you're actually, you
know you're very intentionalabout it, and me too, I remember
going through rough patch andthat, and you know you have this
mindset that things aren'tgreat.
But then you think about things.
Even you know I would write.

(24:09):
If I had a great sandwich waslike, oh, I had the best
sandwich today.
And you know just, youappreciate things a lot more.
So I think that's a greatpractice, beautiful, wonderful
practice, um, yeah.
So I just want to mention onelast thing before.
You know, I don't know if wewant to wrap things up soon.
I know you'll have more, maybehave more to say, but be be
patient with yourself.
You know change doesn't happenright away.

(24:30):
When you plant new seeds, things don't grow right away,
and sometimes those seeds don'tgrow, maybe they're duds.
So, you know, be patient withthe process and enjoy it.
Enjoy every single day thatwe're here and stop and look
around and enjoy the spring,because it's, um, it's a

(24:51):
powerful energy that really canhelp us, uh, in a lot of ways,
just grow spiritually in in thatrespect, beautiful well, one of
the things that we need to do,we're doing this podcast-a-thon,
and what is this about?

Speaker 2 (25:09):
It's asking podcasters to unite for an
impact.
So we're joining this movementwith one episode and we're
bringing up about a cause that'simportant to our hearts here.
So I'll start first.
So mine is the Humane Society.
We have one here in El Paso, and it's life savings for pets.
It's life changing for peopleas well.

(25:31):
People may not realize thatthere is, my goodness, 1,895
shelters in 2024.
And we have 1,784 homeless petsplaced and then 708 animals
that are placed in foster homeshere in El Paso, texas.
So if you are interested in ananimal, you know they say don't.

(25:54):
You know, don't shop.
You know when you adopt, go tothe shelters here In El Paso.
Here they have 44,000 volunteerhours that are completed and
3,000 community cats spayed andneutered throughout their
program here.
So this is a really good causefor animals.
If you can't adopt, can youdonate something, can you drop

(26:15):
off food, right toys, can youvolunteer your time.
A unique program here in ElPaso is you can go down and you
can take the dog out for a dayand spend a day with the dog.
You can take them walking.
You can take them to the petstore, you can kind of get them
out.
So it's a really great program.
We have a lot of veterans here, retired individuals, and that

(26:39):
could make an animal's day.
Coming in and just taking themfor a walk and a ride in the car
, I mean, what a beautiful thingto do.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
I wish I lived nearby .
I love that.
I to ride in the car.
I mean, what a beautiful thingto do.
Oh, I wish I lived nearby.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
I love that.
I'm sure we have that aroundhere somewhere too.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful.
So that's the cause that Ibelieve in with animals.
When my father passed, we hadasked in lieu of flowers,
donations were made to theHumane Society.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Great.
Well, I'd like to mention theone I originally was going to
mention.
I also want to mention breastcancer awareness, also because
I'm a survivor, so it's reallyimportant not just to donate but
to really take care ofyourselves and find you know
times to go to the doctor and beaware of how you're feeling and

(27:25):
don't disregard that, becauseif you don't go to the doctor or
you don't check yourself, youdefinitely something may occur.
Yeah, so you really need to dothat, and this I can.
I could also segue into to thisother organization that I'm
very passionate about, and I didmention Qigong, and this is the
National Qigong Association andthe National Qigong Association

(27:48):
has been around for many yearspromoting Qigong, and this is
the National Qigong Associationand the National Qigong
Association has been around formany years promoting Qigong.
Now in the United States, qigongis not really as well known as
it is, let's say, in China.
It's been around for thousandsand thousands of years and it
really can help you staybalanced and healthy, maintain
this vitality about you.
It also is great for people wholike veterans, so they do

(28:09):
support veterans.
There's a lot of teachers inthis environment and this
organization that do work withveterans and have really helped
them a lot.
So it is a nonprofitorganization and it is committed
to promoting the understandingof Qigong for present and future
generations.
So you know, just like yoga, nobody knew what yoga was 30

(28:31):
years ago and you know youcouldn't find the yoga class,
but it was in India forthousands of years.
Oh yeah, you know, qigong issomething that is not just for
old people, it's for anybody andit really can help you stay
healthy and, um, yeah so.
So this, this organization, isreally trying to do a lot to
just promote that, the awareness, so that people are healthy and

(28:54):
within their minds and theirbody and their spirit beautiful,
beautiful.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Thank you for sharing that.
