In this podcast episode, we dive deep into the world of self-sabotage and how we can break free from its grip.
Self-sabotage is a sneaky subconscious behavior that plagues not only our clients but practitioners like me as well. It's the silent force that derails the best-laid health plans. But it's crucial to understand that self-sabotage isn't about being naughty or insincere; it's a complex interplay of deep-rooted patterns in our subconscious mind.
Our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and actions are driven by the subconscious and unconscious mind. These patterns often originate in our early years as protective mechanisms. However, they can outlive their usefulness and become obstacles to our well-being.
Identifying self-sabotage is the first step. Most clients aren't aware they're undermining their own goals. They genuinely want to improve their health, but their subconscious patterns hold them back.
Enter Naturopathic Emotional Release (NER) – a powerful tool to assess clients' readiness for change. NER helps uncover and process the hidden beliefs, emotions, and behaviors that hinder progress. Picture clients struggling with weight loss, nutrient supplementation, sleep, or exercise. NER allows us to address the root cause of their self-sabotage.
By addressing these subconscious behaviors with NER, we set our clients up for success. They find it easier to follow recommendations, and their health improves significantly.
Don't rely solely on willpower to conquer self-sabotage; it runs deep. NER is the missing piece in the puzzle. It doesn't just help our clients; it strengthens our practice too. Satisfied clients are more likely to stay committed and refer others, boosting our success.
Recognizing and addressing self-sabotage is transformative in holistic health. With NER, we unlock our clients' full potential and facilitate lasting behavioral changes. It's time to bid farewell to self-sabotage and embrace vibrant health.

Ruthie's Table 4
For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
