Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to the Realized Empath Podcast,
where we get real about lovingand stumbling through our
sensitive lives With your hostand holistic counselor, Kristen
Schwartz, who helps redefinewhat's possible for an empath
who embraces a path ofself-healing.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hello beautiful souls and welcome back to the
Realized Empath Podcast.
I'm Kristen Schwartz, yourguide and friend on this journey
of self-discovery and emotionalwellness.
So today's episode isparticularly fun and I believe
it will deeply resonate with you.

(00:43):
This week over on Instagram, Idid a post titled the Nine
Things Every Empath Needs toHear Today, and I thought it
would be fun to really dive deepinto each one of those nine
topics.
Before we start, I want to letyou all know that I am immensely

(01:07):
grateful for your support and Iwant you to consider sharing
and rating and reviewing thispodcast if you find value in our
time together.
Your support helps me reachmore empaths and highly
sensitive people like you, spreading understanding and
compassion.
So thank you again for beinghere and let's jump into the

(01:32):
nine things you need to heartoday.
Number one choose people whochoose you.
Let's begin with relationships.
So, as empaths, we often findourselves in one-sided
relationships where we oftengive more than we receive.

(01:55):
Now I want to preface by sayingthat doesn't mean that we're a
victim in it and that we giveand the people that don't give
back are bad right.
Sometimes we have to take areally good look and see maybe
we're not comfortable withreceiving right, so maybe

(02:17):
there's something to us that isblocking our ability to receive
or welcome that energy back.
But let's say we're in aone-sided relationship.
You know, it's like auditioningfor a role that we're never
going to be given.
The key here is to recognizewhen we do over extend ourselves

(02:39):
for those who don't reciprocate.
A common pitfall is mistakingour empathy for obligation,
leading us to poor energy and todraining relationships.
So choose those who make youfeel seen and appreciated and
bring as much to the table asyou do right.

(03:01):
Choosing people who choose youis about mutual respect and
appreciation.
It's about surrounding yourselfwith those who uplift you,
celebrating your wins as if theywere their own and offering a
shoulder when things get toughright.
So empaths often worry aboutbeing too much or not enough for

(03:25):
others, but the right peoplewho truly deserve a place in
your life will accept andcherish you for who you are,
without you feeling the need todiminish or amplify aspects of
your personality.
So please rememberrelationships should bring you
joy and growth, not constantself-doubt or feelings of

(03:51):
inadequacy.
Okay, number two consistency isthe key to everything you desire
, so please keep going.
So moving to consistency is avital ingredient in achieving
what we all desire.
So it's easy to start withenthusiasm, but the real

(04:15):
challenge is in maintainingmomentum.
So consistency is like wateringa plant, so it needs regular
attention and it's common toface setbacks or lose momentum,
but remember, please remember, that every small, consistent
action is a step closer to yourgoals.

(04:37):
So, whether that's regularself-reflection or moving your
body, or daily meditation orpursuing a passion project,
consistency will be your mostreliable companion.
So consistency in your actionsbuilds resilience, and all

(05:01):
impasse need resilience andstrength right.
So, especially in challengingtimes, it's about showing up for
yourself day in and day out, even when the progress seems
invisible.
Right For impasse, this can meanconsistently setting boundaries
, regularly practicing self-careor steadily working towards

(05:23):
personal goals.
The pitfall here is theexpectation of immediate results
.
So real change is gradual andoften subtle.
So trust the process, staycommitted to your path.
Consistency isn't about grandgestures.
It's like the quiet, persistenteffort truly transforms our

(05:47):
lives, and I want to note herethat self-awareness plays into
this right.
So I'll give you a littlepersonal story.
I've talked about this a lot onsocial media, but I'm in this
season, right now of my lifewhere I desire support and
inspiration, and I'll give you aspecific example.

(06:08):
Let's talk about moving my body.
So I know that for me toconsistently show up and move my
body, what I need right now, inthe season that I'm in, is I
need someone on the other sideof my workout routine who is
cheering me on and supporting meand inspiring me to show up.

(06:29):
Okay, so maybe 10 years ago Ididn't need that.
I'm not gonna say I pridemyself on being
hyper-independent.
I am hyper-independent butthat's because of trauma that
I've been through in my life.
It's a trauma response.
So me embracing the fact that Icrave that support is actually

(06:51):
a win.
It's actually a sign of healing.
So knowing what I need allowsme and honoring that allows me
to be more consistent with thatpart of my self-care.
All right.
Number three follow your joy andstay curious.
So let's talk about joy andcuriosity for a second.

(07:14):
Our society often diminishesjoy as frivolous, but for
empaths, it's a beacon that canguide us to our true selves.
It's about finding whatgenuinely excites you and
exploring it further.
A pitfall here is ignoring ourinner voice in favor of

(07:35):
practicality or societal norms.
Follow what makes your heartsing, whether it's art or nature
, or learning or helping others.
This pursuit is where you'llfind your most authentic self.
So joy is your inner compass, guiding you towards what truly

(07:55):
matters.
It could be as simple asreading a book that resonates
with you, or as significant aschanging your career path to
align with your passions.
So, for empaths, following joymeans tuning into your intuition
and honoring what feels right.
The common pitfall is confusingjoy with fleeting pleasure.

(08:20):
So true joy is deeplyfulfilling and lasting.
It nurtures your soul andaligns with your core values.
So dare to pursue what bringsyou genuine happiness.
It's a journey that leads, Ipromise you, to profound
self-discovery.
Okay, so number four of the ninethings that every empath needs

(08:44):
to know today, please rememberthese free health tools.
So your wellness toolkitcontains some powerful free
tools the sun, water, exercise, meditation, laughter, sleep,
nature and connection.

(09:04):
And they're not just elements, they're the foundation of a
healthy life.
Often we need to pay moreattention to these simple tools
in search of complex solutions.
So you want to incorporatethese into your daily routine
and watch as they transform yourphysical and emotional health.
Simple practices like dailywalks in nature, staying

(09:27):
hydrated and regular sleep canprofoundly affect your
well-being.
So these natural tools offer aholistic approach to wellness.
They work synergistically toimprove our overall well-being.
So the sun boosts vitamin D andmood.
Water hydrates and cleanses thebody.
Exercise strengthens andenergizes right and moves our

(09:51):
energy.
Meditation calms and centers.
Laughter heals and connects, sleep restores and rejuvenates.
Nature soothes and inspires.
And connection fostersbelonging and understanding.
So making these a regular partof your life is challenging, but

(10:12):
the effort is worth it.
So integrating these elementscan bring balance and harmony to
impacts and anyone seeking ahealthier, more fulfilled life.
All right.
Number five Sensitivity isn'tsomething we choose.
It's how we're made.
So number five is aboutembracing our inherent

(10:36):
sensitivity.
It's not a choice.
It's an integral part of who weare.
So sensitivity can feel like andisadvantage in a world that
often rewards toughness, butit's a profound strength and it
allows us to experience deepempathy and connection.
So the challenge here is not tosee our sensitivity as a burden

(10:58):
, but as a gift.
The shift in perspective canchange how you interpret the
world and how you perceiveyourself.
Your sensitivity is a window toa deeper understanding of the
world, and it allows you toconnect with others Profoundly
and experience art and natureand life with intensity and

(11:22):
passion.
So this sensitivity can be botha source of joy and a challenge
for impasse, and I get that.
But it's crucial to create anenvironment that nurtures that
trait.
So this might mean settingboundaries to protect your
energy, choosing settings thatare harmonious with your
sensitivity and Surroundingyourself with people who support

(11:44):
and understand your empathicnature.
So you want to embrace yoursensitivity.
It's a beautiful part of whoyou are.
Alright, number six, you don'thave to match people's energy to
fit in.
So let's discuss energy as inpass.
We're often Chameleons and wecan find ourselves Adapting our

(12:07):
energy to try to fit in and notrock the boat, but what this
does is it leads to losing sightof who you are.
It's okay if your energy iscalmer, more reflective or
differently paced than others.
Embracing your unique energyallows you to bring your true

(12:28):
self to every situation, addingdiversity and depth to your
interactions.
Remember this if you're tryingto fit in, you are not being
authentic, and I know this goesdeeper to okay.
Well, maybe I don't feel safein this environment, and that's
something to take a look atright and dive a little bit

(12:48):
deeper into.
Ask yourself how often do Imatch people's energy and why am
I doing it?
You want to be the influencerin the room and not the
Influenced when we're talkingabout energy.
So maintaining your uniqueenergy in a world that
constantly tries to mold you isan act of courage and

(13:12):
authenticity.
For empath, this means Not beingswept away by the energies
around you.
It's about knowing youremotional landscape and staying
true to it.
This doesn't mean you'reindifferent to others feelings.
It's about not losing yoursense of self.
The pitfall here is the fear ofstanding out or being different

(13:36):
.
Right, but remember, yourunique energy is a gift.
It brings diversity, perspective and richness to your
interactions in the world.
Okay, number seven Feelings arethere to be felt and you are
Responsible for your feelings.

(13:57):
So feelings the complex spectrumof human emotion, are there to
be felt.
Right, we often fall into atrap of labeling emotions as
good or bad, but every emotionhas a purpose and a message.
So allowing ourselves to fullyexperience our emotions without
judgment is a form ofself-respect and understanding.

(14:19):
It's about Acknowledging thatour feelings are valid and
important.
Here's a couple things to note.
All feelings are valid, but notall feelings are truth when it
comes to the stories that wetell ourselves about.
The feelings, okay, and Allfeelings are meant to be felt,

(14:41):
but feelings aren't meant to beweapons that are then thrown or
daggers that are thrown at otherpeople.
We can use anger, for example.
Anger is there to be felt andthe energy in anger can actually
inspire us to transmute andcreate things through that
energy of anger, but anger isnot meant to be used as a weapon

(15:05):
towards or to another person.
So allowing ourselves to fullyexperience our emotions can be
liberating right.
It's a process of acknowledgingand understanding and then
letting go, and this process iscrucial for impassant, highly
sensitive people, because weoften feel emotions more

(15:25):
intensely.
The challenge here is to staycalm by these feelings.
Techniques like mindfulness andjournaling that we talked about
a lot, and talking to a trustedfriend or a therapist can help
in processing these emotionshealthily right.
This is where we want toprocess and not throw our

(15:46):
emotions onto others.
So recognize that feelings, nomatter how intense, are
transient.
They come and they go.
Each one is teaching ussomething valuable about
ourselves and our journey.
Number eight, and I think, avery important one, it's not
your job to fix other people'sfeelings or moods.

(16:09):
So impaths naturally gravitatetowards healing and helping, and
I get that.
However, it's crucial tounderstand that we can't and
shouldn't fix everyone'semotional challenges.
This is a common pitfall.
Right, taking on the emotionalburdens of others is a common

(16:30):
pitfall for highly sensitivepeople and for impasse.
So remember, while you canoffer support, everyone must
navigate their emotional journey.
So setting this boundary ishealthy for you and respecting
others' abilities to heal andgrow.
So, as impasse, we have anatural inclination to healing

(16:52):
comfort, but it's important torecognize the boundary between
support and over-involvement.
Taking responsibility to fixothers can lead to emotional
exhaustion and burnout, and it'scrossing other people's
boundaries.
So it's about offering empathyand support without taking on

(17:12):
the emotional weight yourself.
So this distinction is crucialfor maintaining your emotional
health.
So you want to encourage othersto find their paths to healing
while focusing on your journey.
And by doing so, what you'redoing is you're protecting
yourself and empowering othersat the same time to take charge

(17:34):
of their emotional well-being.
And number nine no one elsedoes what you do.
End of story.
Let's talk about your uniquecontribution to this world.
So, in a world of over 7billion people, it's easy to
feel like just another face inthe crowd.

(17:56):
But here's the truth no oneelse brings what you bring.
Your combination of talents, experiences and perspectives is
unparalleled.
So celebrate your uniqueness.
It's your gift to this world.
Never underestimate the impactof your unique presence.

(18:18):
Your combination of empathy, sensitivity, creativity and
perspective is rare and needed.
I know it's easy to fall intothe comparison trap, especially
in a world dominated by socialmedia.
But remember your journey andcontributions are incomparable.
They are as unique as yourfingerprint.

(18:40):
So celebrate your individualityand know that what you offer to
the world is valuable andirreplaceable.
In embracing your uniqueness, you inspire others to do the
same, so what that does is itcreates a ripple effect of
authenticity and self-acceptance.
